    I think Qui-Gon was the best “Jedi” of the Jedi. He follows the force and trusts his instincts, even if the council disagrees with him. And while obi-wan is set on following the council and rules, he truly cares about protecting people rather than focusing on self preservation like many of the other Jedi do. I think Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan would’ve made great leaders of the Jedi

      Obi followed the Jedi code not the council qui gon followed the will of the force bit obi did far more good through this lifetime and was everything a Jedi should strive to be qui gon had a good aspect but just because that’s the way of the old Jedi doesn’t mean that’s what they should still be in the era of 1-6 there was no peace they needed peace keepers but also protectors of the people obi wan is the perfect example of that

    I think what makes Kenobi so great was that scene where’s he defeats darth maul. The man who killed his master and the love of his life. He held him til maul dies. He doesn’t hate him, he lets him die in peace. Most people would let their angry get the best of them like Anakin. But not him. Truly one of the best characters

    I’m going to say this now, but Obi Wan is possibly one of the most powerful Jedi in history. The dude fought multiple Sith in an age where the quality of the Sith was at their absolute peak. Maul was a crazy, talented duelist and Kenobi beat him multiple times. He dueled and survived Dooku. Dooku might be underrated as a Sith, but understand that in a profession where most people die young, the ones who lives to see an old age are possibly the most dangerous. The Clone wars may have portrayed Grievous as a coward, but Gendy Tarkovsky’s Clone wars showed Grevious as a Jedi slayer. One who could duel multiple masters at once, and Kenobi beat him 1 on 1. Anakin was probably at his peak by the time of the Revenge of the Sith. We are never shown the full extent of the battle at the Jedi temple, but no doubt Anakin must have faced off a few dozen Jedi masters left defending the temple, and possible hundreds of knights. Obi wan faced him head on, despite him possibly fighting through his own trauma and feelings of betrayal and regret. Had Obi wan been there at the arrest of Palpatine with Mace Windu, there would have been no Empire. I stand by that. Even at his old age, he stood toe to toe against Vader, stalling him in time for Luke and the others to get away. With out Obi-Wan Kenobi, the Star Wars university would be in a much darker place.

  • @13lackhood
    @13lackhood 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

    Gotta say ive always likes Qui-Gon more, he just seems more grounded and wise not completly bound by the rules/ethics of the Jedi Order, i think if he had lived he would have played a major role in the Clone Wars, properly either arrested or killed Palpatine and thus avoided the whole empire goes cray-cray

    • @joshuahogan3475
      @joshuahogan3475 2 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      Palpatine would have beaten him easily. The power and skill difference between Maul and Palpatine is incredible. That said, you are right about Qui-Gon preventing the rise of the Empire if he survived. A living Qui-Gon would have trained Anakin and Anakin needed a strong, caring father figure to guide him not a big brother like Obi-Wan. With Qui-Gon, Anakin never falls to the Dark Side, he never betrays the Jedi, and Order 66 either never happens or fails to tale out the biggest threats. So instead of Yoda going to take down Palpatine alone after 66, he goes with Obi-Wan and possibly other surviving Jedi, including possibly Anakin himself. Palps is powerful and beyond skilled as I said, but not even he could face down Yoda and Obi-Wan together, not when Yoda alone fought him to a draw.

  • @harrisoncord3680

    Obi-Wan couldve been Grand Master if only Anakin actually listened to Obi-Wan to not kill Dooku, They wouldve got all of the plans of the Sith from Dooku because he got betrayed. Palpatine told Anakin to kill Dooku breaking theyre Sith relationship and from there they couldve got Palpatines plans from Dooku while Palpatine rambles "Do It" in the back ground to Anakin😂
    But all of this couldve been prevented if only Qui Gon just went by the Jedi way during the Duel on Naboo, If Qui-Gon was calm and collected he couldve pushed Maul with Kenobi and attacked until they found out who the Master of Maul was and they wouldve saved the whole Jedi Order, Then eventually Gui-Gon would be a Force Ghost which is crazy that he is not. If that happened Star Wars wouldnt be what we know now of it.

    2:40 I do kinda feel like he should have at least asked Anakin or something though. Mounting a one-man rescue mission against a former Sith Lord and crime syndicates and terrorists is brave but a little foolish. And yes I know following a fool would be more foolish, but a) Anakin is totally the kind of idiot who would and we love him for it and b) a two-man rescue mission is slightly less crazy. I just think it might have ended better, maybe he would have been successful. And I have to wonder if there was some ego there in him thinking "I can do this myself, I don't need help" ... or maybe I'm projecing and his motives really were as selfless as you make them out to be, which is honestly more in character, so I'll go with your explanation 😁
    Either way this video just affirms my eternal adoration of Obi-Wan Kenobi lol

    • @andyquinn3996
      @andyquinn3996 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I understand your point, but if I would have to guess, knowing how upright he is, it's most likely that he went there solo not because of pride, like: I can do this alone, or i don't need help, it may have being because he knew that what he was about to do was not only dangerous, but also risky, specially after he got refused by the council, so most likely, his thoughts were: I really wish I can ask for help, but if I get others involved, they may either get arrested, expelled from the order or killed, so I have to do this on my own.

He was a grinder. And I always thought that part of the reason he was so good was because he sparred regularly with the chosen one.

While the Disney trilogy took away everything Anakin sacrifice achieve hell never even mention him at all.

    So what would you aim for, perhaps something similar to the Je-Di from Legends who used both sides of the Force, were allowed to have relationships and all the happy nonsense, so long as they maintained proper balance or would it be something else?

      Because there was no real set up for it for the majority of people not at least aware of the Dark Empire novels. The entire sequel trilogy was just poorly handled.
      And besides it's just a bit ridiculous anyway. The Dark Empire novels at least have a more coherent story but Palpatine coming back to life by using clones to respawn is just ridiculous. Not unbelievable but just ridiculous.

    The Jedi were supposed to follow anakin that’s why they were all destroyed. They were supposed to follow the will of the force and anakin was literally born due to the force. He IS quite literally a physical embodiment of the will of the force.

    Why do everyone always complain about the resurrected "emperor"...
    He didn't die and respawn. It's a clone FFS!!....
    Palpatine always had a plan for every possibility, including his own death.

    He didn’t kill anakin because it’s just not the Jedi way to kill an unarmed man

    Anakin and Obi Wan could have easily bonded over their personal issues. But sadly they didn't because of their own convictions.

    And I'm totally ok with that. XD

    Obi wan should of been the head of all the Jedi and anakin should of been the head general of the clone army . Yoda mace and the other Jedi masters caused all the bad stuff to happen if you want to be honest

    Kenobi is cool and all but.....do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Savior Qui-Gon Jin and the Church of Latter-day Je'daii?

    Kenobi was a great man, a great Jedi but "Perfect" no, that can be fully seen when he screams at Darth Vader "THEN YOU ARE LOST!" if he were truly the "Perfect Jedi" then he'd've used REASON as his guide not his light saber, but I'll tell ya what he's perfect at, he's the "Perfect" Troll!

    "Why do I get the sense we picked up another pathetic lifeform" - Obi-Wan referring to Anakin in Ep 1, I would never trust Obi.

    Who cares about the sequels, Ashoka lives and all of Star Wars is changed because of it. The sequels never happen.
