The Y-Wing has warmed up to me as being one of the most reliable and versatile craft in Star Wars. They've been running since the Clone Wars - and most of the plating can be rebuilt and overhauled for lighter weight and maneuverability, and it's Auto Turret is a beast in Dogfighting. It could easily be turned into a Cargo Ship if need be, if you are the smuggling type.
U-wings convert better, but that would be an interesting project.

@@ThereMayBeLions I honestly don't recall the cost. But adding cargo space would be costly. Despite the size, proton bomb payloads didn't take up that much room.
@@Eric-ch6gq I never thought of it either. But if they are comparable in price - the U-Wing is like a Miniature YT Freighter. I was thinking as more of a start up ship for someone just trying to get off the ground. Like I am in rl xX
@@ThereMayBeLions The U-wing was 65k new but were a small production run before Incom was taken over, Y-wings were 135k new or 65 used, for that price you could get something like a HWK-290 at 70k or a yt-1300 at 100k new. My personal favorite option is the Ghtroc 720 at 112k, looked like an armored turtle and carried more cargo then the yt-1300. Really you wouldn't take a starfighter and convert it to running cargo, it's just not worth the cost.

Im surprised the N1 is not on this list. Lightly armed the thing was still way ahead of its time. Seeing the mudhorns chop shop that thing was the perfect metaphor for Disney’s handling of star wars. Taking a classic and special beauty, handing it to a barely educated lune and letting her chop it into a janky monstrosity that only vaguely resembles the beauty it used to be. P.S. im not talking about the mechanic!
That would be because an N1, being hand built (and custom built by Naboo) its not gonna have a low resale cost. It's still gonna cost a ton.

N1 is so rare and built in such low numbers I don't think it belongs on such a list.
The motorbike analogy is attractive in Star Wars, artificial legs are cheap and work as good as a organic leg.

I told my grandson: "i only want a FULL-SIZE LEGO X-WING FIGHTER for christmas." (every year, the same joke/shenanigans) but that we would have to build it in the backyard, because their house is too small, (even the backyard is too small, and the wings may extend into the neighbor's yard too), and it might cost millions of dollars, we might need millions of legos to pull this project off.
I mean the real issue is the structural integrity of the legos 😂

@@GenerationTech while you can find an arc 170 later on in a different level, the ship that's found in the 1st level is an Eta-2 Actis-class light interceptor, it's found right before you start sliding off the side of the venator
One of the few things I enjoyed from the Sequels was the TIE Silencer. It's as if Vader's TIE Advanced X1 did the Potara Fusion with Darth Maul's Scimitar...Such a sleek, yet Tough fighter. I'd actually take this over an X-Wing any day!!!

Yeah, it's a lot like the expanded universe TIE Avenger, which is one of my favorite Imperial ships. It looks similar and the Avengers were canonically the final production ship that that came from Vader's prototype x1. It made me happy that the design had sort of survived.
Gotta love a good Honda motorcycle. I have two and they have never failed me. One of them literally got run over by a truck and still worked, the only thing wrong was a very bent handlebar. I ended up replacing the bar with one from a 1970s trail 90.
Still love the ARC-170. Three person and an astromech crew with long range,heavy weapons and armor along with shields and a pair of tail guns. It's a pain train with no breaks. Would probably work well escorting freighters that don't have fighter carrying capacity.

7:40 Actually various premutations of the Ford GT-40 won Lemans in 1966, 1967, 1968, and 1969. The last two years were by John Wyre Automotive Engineering Ltd with a Ford 4.9 litre V8 and Gulf Oil racing livery. I'd call the GT-40 the Goat, but John Wyre followed up its GT-40 program with the Porsche 917.
The N-1 does have an elevated status now because of mando. I like it more as a stripped hot rod actually.

Lol long ago played an rpg where the planetary coalition we were roleplaying would send their agents out shopping for old kit... initially settled for a core of z95s. . Yes basic.. but cheap as chips and available in quantity etc... next most sought was the y wing... and our freighter fleet was an interesting thing.. got one of those ones with the small and difficult to read monitors but in near new condition and refitted it with ones from a worn out corellian design... good days

I saw that Integra the other day/week ago. That's such an insane price. You'd expect that from a Supra or something, but I guess the mileage is what did it. Bring A Trailer prices are on crack these days.
TommyFyeah's identical Phoenix Yellow ITR with roughly 55-60k miles was about $60k or so. He also bought an extremely low mileage stock eg Civic hatch for close to $20k from BaT last year, built it in a period-correct fashion, and gave it away last fall. For those uninformed, he's an auto YTer who has recently opened the premier Skyline GTR restoration shop in the country. Dude's doing god's work. He's got somewhere around like 40 customer cars there right now.

Always thought of the Delta like an old cafe racer. Extremely light, fast and agile and about a second from biting you in the butt... Nothing like one though.

Technology advancement in the Star Wars universe happens at a crawl, which is what happens when you've been at it for literally thousands of years. Compare how quickly computers advanced in the late 90's vs. today, then stretch that trend out over thousands of years. It's the same way with engines, power cells, and everything else in Star Wars. So a ship that's over a century old in Star Wars can still be perfectly viable as long as it's been maintained. Things just don't change that much anymore. Any ship in Star Wars that was a fundamentally good design will hold its value, unless something completely changed and caused a paradigm shift.

I wonder if in the SW universe their version of TV... Holonet I guess.. or both maybe if your on a given planet all the time they actually have commercials advertising things like "did you wreck your Z-95, old X-wing, or Vintage Clone Wars Y-Wing IS your insurance shield up?? With-" an it being narrated by a Star Weird, Jawa, Mace Windu or something like that warning you to get adequate insurance or something..
