This was a cool and helpful beginner tutorial! It really gave me a lot of ideas on how to start using Fusion in Resolve! Thanks! I know what I'm doing for the next couple of days! :D
Hi! I’ve never really worked with 3-D models in fusion, so I’m not sure how to do all that. Sorry I can’t help you out on this one. Thanks for checking out the video!
Very helpful intro. I just put together a fairly simple Fusion effect based on another YT video. Now I have some idea what I did when I followed the instructions. The only problem is that the composition hangs at exactly 8 seconds when I play it back in Fusion or during render. Eventually, DR crashes. The effect plays in the edit screen, although it's really choppy. Ever seen anything like that? My PC has 16G, so I thought that would be sufficient. Thanx for continuing to crank out such helpful videos!
this is so amazing! but my one question is, is fusion 16 the same thing as davinci resolve 16? they do look the same (or super similar at least), but i'm seeing a fusion 16 and davinci resolve 16 separately. thank you for this amazing tutorial!! 👍🏽🕊😍✨❤👑
Hi and thanks! Yes Fusion 16 is a stand alone program. I’ve never used it but from what I hear it’s close to the fusion in DaVinci Resolve 16. I think it’s still a little more advanced but pretty soon they will be equal. The standalone fusion existed before DaVinci Resolve was around. I imagine at some point it will all be in DaVinci Resolve.
That was really really helpful. A couple of quick questions. So let's say i have a clip of me and i want to use the effects. Will I create a fusion and then it will show up in my timeline and then put it on top of the clip in the timeline? Can you also add effects to clip by adding the clip into fusion as well? Also let's say i really like the effect, can I just save the effect on my laptop as it's own separate video. Then when i open up DaVinci Resolve later just add the clip and add the saved effect. So i could use it for multiple videos. Thanks
Hi! To answer your second question, yes you can save effects if you’d like to. If you want to use a clip of you for effects, you can just jump right into fusion with that clip of you. That way your clip will become a fusion clip. Or you can add a fusion composition if you’d like that is on a video track above your clip, just depends how the effects need to work out. Thanks for watching!
Is there any way to prevent resolve from crashing when trying to render a saver? I’ve tried about 6 times now and it keeps crashing after a few minutes. I tried on two computers and it won’t render all the way.
Hi! Sometimes that happens and it will not render all the way though. Check out the tip in this video and it should fix the problem: th-cam.com/video/IkCKZx0i55E/w-d-xo.html Hope this helps!
Sorry it’s not working out for you. There must be an error somewhere in there. You can try slowing down the render speed in the deliver page maybe. Or creat a new project and copy/paste the entire timeline into a new project. Sometimes things get messed up in project files. 🤔
Jason Yadlovski the copy and paste method sorta worked. Resolve was finally caching the fusion comp but was unstable when doing so. I was only able to get one second of footage cached and exported. I could divide it into 8 parts and have each part cached separately but that’s assuming resolve won’t close out when doing it. The laptop I’m using right now has an intel i7 and for graphics it has intel hd graphics 5500. Personally I think it might be the graphics card that can’t keep up with it. But otherwise I really don’t know what’s causing the problem.
Thanks for your reply! Sorry to hear you’re still having troubles. Must be frustrating. Maybe try slowing down the render speed as I mentioned. I think it’s under the advanced controls in your render settings. (Might have to do custom export settings) Maybe that would ease the load on the graphics card.
If you trimmed the clip, I'm not sure that the audio would change at all. At least is shouldn't. Sound like some keyframes were accidentally added that reduce the volume of the clip over a period of time. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!

This is just an intro to fusion to show you some of the basics. You can do much more complicated things in fusion versus things in the edit page. Thanks for checking out the video! 😁👍
@@JasonYadlovski thank you for the reply. Yeah I'm very new to this and exploring fusion but still very confusing to me😬. Will check out more of your vids
Awesome, welcome to Resolve! It’s a great program but does have a steep learning curve. Definitely get a handle of the edit page and work up to the fusion page. It takes a while to get a hold of fusion, how it works and what I can do. Thanks for checking out my channel! And best of luck with DaVinci Resolve
For me it wasn't clear how the 2 clips appeared there? When I follow the steps as you mentioned the clips don't appear. Why you don't insert them during the video so we may follow also these steps? I stuck there and I am starting to look for another video where all steps are shown.
What do you mean by restart the fusion tab? You can place a new fusion clip in the edit tab and then jump back into the fusion tab or you can just delete your nodes.
I've watched so many videos on Fusion for beginners, but I can't even figure out how to actually export my clip from the fusion window to an actual video file?
Hi! You’ve got a few ways - first drop your clip in the timeline, then highlight your clip and click the fusion tab. Or you can add a fusion composition to your timeline, then hit the fusion tab icon, then in fusion open the media pool and drag and drop your clip into the node area. Either way should work. Thanks for watching!
@@JasonYadlovski Thanks very much for your fast answer! I believe I figured that out in the meantime. What I'm trying to do is doubling the framerate of a clip while keeping the duration. Am I correct that I have to set my target FPS for the timeline already in the very beginning of the project?
You an create a new timeline and make it whatever framerate you want. In earlier version of Resolve, you used to have to set the frame rate in the beginning, but now it doesn't matter. If you double the frame rate of the clip (speed it up) it can't be the same length of time, unless you have more clip to add to it. Does that make sense?
i have another question, when u import multiple videos to resolve and u cut the most important part of it, then u click f10 if i not mistaken in order to keep the the part u wanna it, but let say we do that in more than 1 video how can i export just that video on that project over other videos that i have just cut??? sry the bad english.
Hi! I'm not quite sure I follow what you are trying to do, but if you want to render only part of a clip, you can either add it to its own timeline or you can just set in/out points to render only that clip in the Deliver page. Does that help? Thanks for watching!
@@JasonYadlovski yes you are lol, you mention it a lot, but still it hasn't stopped you from going further into it which has immensely helped people like it :D
Ok, that's easy to do - You can add text right in the edit page. Open the effects library and go to the ‘titles’ section on the left. There are preset text options as well as basic text.
do i need to put fusion composition to put some text in the video????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

@@JasonYadlovski I've gone through a number of Fusion TH-cam vids, this was one of the easier ones to follow. The program as a whole is relatively user friendly, but fusion is a nightmare even for me.
It is challenging for sure. I don’t use fusion too much cause it’s too much for my MacBook Pro to handle smoothly. I’d like to get more into it though.

Is gig's for your GPU memory?
Hi! There’s your computer RAM in GB but if you have a GPU that also has VRAM GB. Hope this helps! Thanks for watching!
Nice video!
Thanks! Thank you for checking out the video! 😁👍
really helpful.. thanks again

Awesome! Great video, thanks for sharing! 😁 Keep working at it and they will get better and better!
Very helpful but I just want to know why use fusion and not just normal editing?
Hi! Which two clips are you referring to? What time in the video?
Very helpful....
You’re welcome!
V helpful thanx
You’re welcome! 👍😁
How do you restart fusion tab? ;-;
What do you mean by restart the fusion tab? You can place a new fusion clip in the edit tab and then jump back into the fusion tab or you can just delete your nodes.
@@JasonYadlovski I tried to add some 3rd party effects, and they say I have to "restart" fusion tab so I'm kinda confused ;-;
I would just close the program and reopen the program. That’s as good a restart as you’ll get I think.
@@JasonYadlovski Ok thanks!
Mahalo Jason, Ofc Dana...need to learn this fusion thang...thanks for your scrolling text Mahalo again Uso...im a learning
😜👍
My nodes keep turning Red and the whole screen turns black. Any help?
Hi! Strange issue, not sure what's going on there. I'll look into it a bit and see if I can find anything about it....
Intor & Outro BGM Is Awsome

Thank you very much
You're welcome!
I'll be dipping my toe into this section :)
Yeah me too, lol. I gotta get more into fusion. Haven’t worked in it much.
@@JasonYadlovski noooooo not you!?!! lol
Yeah man I don’t know whole lot about fusion. My last computer couldn’t really do much fusion. I’m more of an audio guy myself. 😜
@@JasonYadlovski yes you are lol, you mention it a lot, but still it hasn't stopped you from going further into it which has immensely helped people like it :D
nice content
Thank you! 😁👍
i am lose it more than fire hours and i still can´t put any texture without losing the video, can u make a video how to do it pls???
Are you trying to add text as in your other comment or texture?
@@JasonYadlovski is like a vídeo with me saying nothing and a Small text at the side
Ok, that's easy to do - You can add text right in the edit page. Open the effects library and go to the ‘titles’ section on the left. There are preset text options as well as basic text.
I Will try that 👍
Thanks‼️
You’re welcome! Thanks for watching!
do i need to put fusion composition to put some text in the video????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

amazing
So much cool stuff you can do in fusion. Almost endless. Thanks for watching!
@@JasonYadlovski probably why it is so overwhelming
THAT WAS AWESOME... ILL TRY BUT MY MACHINE GONNA COMPLAIN.. but thanx a lot really...
I know the feeling! My 2015 MacBook Pro was not a fan of fusion. I got the new M1 Mac mini and that’s definitely better but still not a huge powerhouse infusion. But at least I can do some stuff now 😜😁👍
@@JasonYadlovski Nice one, but here in Brazil, machines are very expensive, now I got a RTX 1050 with 8RAM and I5 so it´s the limit I belive.
I got this one becase I do 3d,so. I´m gonna try right now, LET´S CHECK IT OUT. .
I hope it works out great for you! 😁👍
Great tutorial, but you should first show to add only single or max 2 nodes combination first, and then once they work edit it to make cooler!!
Thanks for your suggestion and for checking out the video!
@@JasonYadlovski can you please suggest or make a video on how to import downloaded transitions from other projects?! I tried multiple ways but getting errors! Thanks in advance ☺️
You should be able to just copy and paste them or try using power bins.
@@JasonYadlovski i tried that and I am getting error that you should unselect the file! Even though it is not selected
@@JasonYadlovski thanks for your quick reply but if you can make a quick video or give me a link, it will be very helpful! I have tried almost all the ways suggested in internet, i spent 6 hours after it! Please let me know if you can help me
Hmmmmmm I got only 4 gigs. Maybe I ain't ready yet for this.
Hi! You could try but it may bog down your machine too much. I’ve got 16 gigs on my MacBook Pro and it still gets sluggish.
@@JasonYadlovski Nah it's a laptop and the only device I got.
Fusion seems very complicated though
I would agree. A lot you need to know to make cool stuff. Thanks for watching!
