Oh, but he did ... from the beginning to 0:24 is *ALL* introduction. That is one reason why I am *SUBSCRIBED!* to this channel. It's just that he did that intro so smoothly you didn't even notice it ... but your mind was better prepared to take in the information than if there was no introduction. Jason either did it deliberately or he's just a natural teacher. What he didn't do was mess around with other stuff that wasn't on the topic. That's what I see in many other TH-cam tutorials on channels that I'm not subscribed to.

I’ve been transitioning to DaVinci for the past 6 months, watched many youtube instructional videos. None have come through as clearly and quickly as yours. The fast repeating of the task on three separate situations, makes it click. Thank you for knowledge and sharing how to make an overwhelming program understandable.

  • @charlieross-BRM

Definitely convenient to do and demonstrated well. ie. if I can do it . . . :)
I do a lot of powersports (jet ski racing, motorcycles, poker runs) and skate boarding. The catch is I often need to let the object eventually run off the frame, and swing the camera back to catch the next one coming by. I like that look anyway instead of cutting while the object is still visible. Leave some empty track/water, grass, etc for a visual breather.
I want tracking correction because sometimes my on camera panning gets ahead or behind the vehicle/craft and I'm hunting to get it centered smoothly. My vertical variations are minor.
I think that's why so much tracking correction is being applied horizontally that the checkerboard area gets up to 1/4 of the side of the frame, while my vertical checkerboard gap is really small. Stabilization is still trying to center the object while it's leaving the frame.

Great tutorial! My tracking somehow stops after about 1/3 of the clip, though. Have you had the same problem by any chance?

Try making a cut on the clip where the problem is and then running the track on the clip were you having troubles. Maybe it’s just losing the track for some reason.

You really have the pacing down. This video should be the standard for tutorial videos. Efficient and brief, yet fully-detailed, and the bonus 2nd and 3rd demonstration for those interested. Thanks.

      @@JasonYadlovski Hello Again, Jason!!
First of all, I was born and raised on Long Island, but am now retired in France, and I can't help but notice your ... accent. Are you also from NY or NJ?
Back to DR ... you had put a video out on the subject of Multicam. It seems that having all of the B-footage along with the A-roll should be in one folder so it is tidy. Yet, I wonder how the big boys and girls really set up their workflow? Perhaps, they would not use DR at all due to it's weaknesses. That is to say, let's assume you are editing a full length film with 100's of clips, would they simply group the A and B clips into a zillion different folders or use a software and method that I am totally not familiar with?
Granted, I'm nowhere near that level but I can't help but wonder what the workflow would be like for much larger projects.
      Best to you,
      Doug Dina

Hey Doug - I'm from Jersey. 😜 As far as keeping things organized, I don't know how production companies do it, I've never been a part of a large production, but regardless some kind of organizational structure is super important. Even if you only have a few pieces of media. Being organized will just make the job go smoother. 😁

      Hey,
Would you mind if I ask you a fairly simple question … how on earth do I increase views on TH-cam? I mean, my videos are not horrible but they are not phenomenal either. Yet, I see videos with view counts in the 10’s or 100’s of thousands on subjects that are not all that interesting. So, I’m at a lose. My stats are a joke; like 90 subscribers and view counts near 50. It’s disgraceful and bewildering.
      Any advice?
