I don't understand the doomposting. It's a spinoff, Fromsoft is still cooking whatever they're cooking separate from this. Monster Hunter does this all the time. I'm personally excited, I've been imagining a coop rogue souls would be fun and they're actually doing it.
I really wanna give people the benefit of the doubt, but it feels like Souls fans just want Fromsoft to keep making the same game over and over again. Fromsoft used to make weird, bizarre games pretty often before Dark Souls 1 blew up, but this game is apparently a big "creative risk"?
@@Hungo80k Miyazaki probably doesn't want another DLC, because milking the same game over and over isn't fun or innovative. At least here they're trying something new
After the massive success of Elden Ring, Fromsoft as a company greatly expanded in manpower hiring more personnel. It looks like they are using this game as a way to get all the new personnel up to speed and familiarized with the game engine. Plus a great way to test out new mechanics. I’m definitely looking forward to it.
@@trollnippers What are you talking about? The claim that the hired more people after Elden Ring is obvious given the sudden success of it and everything beyond that is just his guess because he says "It looks like".
I'm down for this. A more arcade approach to the souls games is fine with me. I can grab 2 friends who haven't tried them before and give them a good jumping off point.
Those new classes sound like FromSoft tinkering around with new gameplay ideas. The Recluse, in particular, could have a lot of impact on the magic system in their next game with the way it absorbs certain damage types to charge its own spells.
I'm dying for a real reactive magic system. Something that blends the environment and has natural counters that have their own biological/chemical/physical effects. Literally someone just rip off Avatar with the elemental bending.
Considering how From soft evolved in the last decade, I can't agree more with you. Testing new ideas and gameplay mechanics on a solid base to develop what was successful in future titles.
Casters have been stagnant since DS3 scaled back the improvements for Casters that DS2 brought forward. Such as Catalyst Infusions. Attunement determined Cast Speed Various non-damage armor buffs Just to name a few. I want to see Catalysts (Seals/Staves) to be treated as proper Caster weapons in the future. Such as being allowed Affinities, Ash of War variety, and an FP-free moveset similar to the Perfume Bottles. (An example: Glintsword Staff conjuring a Farron Flashsword as its attack instead of...the staff bonk.) I'm honestly tired of FromSoft trying to push Casters into playing Spellblades, so Nightreign gives me a bit of hope on this.
Honestly sounds like more of a test run for a lot of ideas fromsoft has had on the back burner and may take the good from this into a much bigger future project
Test run and also training project for new devs. Miyazaki said they had some 30 odd projects in the works, no way they're doing that with the old 100 man studio, they probably spent some of that Elden Ring $$$ on new hires so it makes sense to have some non-flagship projects to train them on.
honestly it feel like they took Seemless Co-op and Convergence and smashed them together. Threw a coat of Ravenswatch on it and gave it a shrinking ring.
It's basically the Dark Souls 2 thematic again. Made by someone teached by Miyazaki, testing out new mechanics in a familiar environment for the fans. It's a great tactic.
I won’t lie, the hype did go down for me a little when I found out this wasn’t a DLC, but I still think it’s a really cool idea that that I’m excited to play.
Same here. It’s crazy to see that other people in the comments aren’t excited. Many fromsoft fans crave the same formula. I get being upset if this was Miyazaki’s priority but this is being lead by a small team while Miyazaki is working primarily on other things.

It's insane that From Soft is actually taking risks like this. So many people who will complain are the same ones who say "AAA gaming is dead" and "Every AAA game is the same". But when a massive company like that actually attempts something different, is when we should be celebrating, even if it's not for everyone.
You think this is different? The footage showed so many re-used assets, not only from Elden Ring but from Dark Souls 1-3. If you think what you see is different, I have some snake oil to sell you!
FromSoft is no stranger to doing experimental games that depart from their "usual" repertoire, from Armored Core: Formula Front, to The Adventures of Cookie and Cream, etc. This is just another of their side projects they're doing to keep things fresh.
This is sounding like a dungeon raid/boss rush/ dynasty warriors/helldivers/rogue-like game and I think it's cool that they are trying something new in a way that they know how
I really hope it is not like Dynasty Warriors. I am no big fan of Warriors games. One Piece Pirate warriors is the only one that I like but nothing that I love and the only good thing is playing all the charakters that I love.
definitely feels like a third party dev team was given access to the elden ring engine and game files for past fromsoft games lol It kind of does feel like a very ambitious mod
I am actually excited. It’s a way more balanced randomizer and a roguelike. The time limit will definitely increase the stress when playing it and the build variety is huge. And I trust Fromsoft to make good things. And even if not, they’ll learn from it. I just hope they play test this enough.
This definately seems like a test run but also a reason for them to import older bosses into the elden ring engine. Nameless king and especially centipede demon (which hasnt been shows since dark souls 1) being moved to the engine could be huge in the long run especially for modders.
@@KevinSatron you're misunderstanding... I'm just pointing out that modders have pretty much already done what this new game sets out to do that is different. Not saying it is neither good or bad. Just pointing it out

People are probably scared because of the possible upcoming Kadokawa acquisition, with that and this changing so much so fast people are being negative. Personally, im quite excited for this because it has more movement/ PvE focus with more movement options and I'll be able to play with my friends.
It's quite demonstrably NOT "more Elden Ring", that's the point, that's why people are mad, lmao. Not me, I'm fine with experimentation, because if I want to play Elden Ring it already exists. But you're severely misunderstanding the backlash.
Because most of us have been playing these series for 15 years since Demon's Souls. The character's, their stories, the journys and lands traveled, the lore acquired and poured over to understand, is all very special to a lot of players that came before Elden Ring. This game potentially cheapens and spoils the lore by putting a half assed spin on our favorite games to test new stuff. I'm not sure if you've played the other games but they are bringing in bosses and characters from completely disconnected worlds and Miyazaki has never merged lore in his development methods. He makes a game and then moves to the next big thing. Not saying this game will be bad as far as gameplay and replayability. I'm very excited for this, I just hope they don't do some cheap Hollywood reboot style mess of a story to justify this game.
This feels like God of War Valhalla. Not supposed to feel like a full game because it isn’t really. It is like a DLC with unique mechanics and gameplay loops. Like this is the snack From is giving us between the big meals they are cooking up.
You spend almost fourty bucks on one meal at a decent restaurant these days. You make that in two hours at a typical job. It’s really not that much money for something that you will spend dozens of hours doing.
I really think they should have released a trailer alongside an explainer video about what the game is aiming to be. It's kind of weird to get the first news on what the game is like from a gaming news channel rather than direct from the publisher.
This sounds….. interesting. Doesn’t really sound like this is going to appeal very heavily to Elden Ring’s target audience, but it does sound like Sony’s typical target audience.
@@kristoferprovencal3608 yeah this sort of game doesnt sound like fromsoftware at all. The trailer had me hype but now I really am not interested. My only hope for next year is witcher 4 i guess
@@Henrydota2The issue is that ER and the past games it merged with allowed people to freely customize how they wish. It’s something they really like. They want to be their own character, not some preset made by a dev
I see this going one of two ways 1. Fromsoft is letting the director Ishizaki have a go at Nightreign to keep fans at bay (and mess around with new mechanics to see what sticks with the playerbase), whilst the A team works on bigger, more in-line-with-Fromsoft things 2. They're putting the fanbase in a pot of nice, warm Sony-flavoured water so that we won't leap out when/if they set the heat to high via selling to Sony, meaning (potentially) more of these 'trendy' mechanics are to be expected from future Fromsoft releases
The reason trendy mechanics sell well are because people like them. I'm willing to bet that's a large part of the reason Elden Ring was "open world" at all. The other reason was that they wanted it to be different from Dark Souls, making the world design more conventional in the eyes of mainstream audiences. That seems to be what they're doing here with the gameplay loop, pulling an obviously profitable and constructive decision and just making something different from the original material that is guaranteed to resonate with a large portion of the audience while letting Ishizaki and the new hires stretch their wings as they try to make a multiplayer FS game that doesn't feel wack.
@@gu3z185 I'm all but sure that you're right on the money about their decision to make Elden Ring 'open world' in order to open the franchise to a wider audience. I only hope they incorporate trendy mechanics in moderation... Too much conformity may run the risk of watering down the heart and soul of Souls games and alienating long time fans. A full blown Dark Souls coded battle royale would send me into an early grave ,lol
After seeing the nameless king in the trailer I was so confused at what this was going to be, but this is an excellent explanation. Looks really exciting, I think its really cool that fromsoft have these side projects that let other directors try out ideas that potentially feed into the mainline titles.
My hype for this skyrocketed when I first saw the trailer thinking it was another huge DLC, then plummeted when I heard not only was it not, but it had some BR elements like the circle and dropping, and is now cautiously shooting back up. Honestly, especially when you consider that this isn't halting progress on Miyazaki's next true game (since it's a different team/dev), the idea of a Monster Hunter style Souls experience where you can go hunting the fuckin Nameless King in the Lands Between with your bros sounds fun as hell. I'm still cautiously not getting my hopes super high, but I think this could be a fun MonHun type experience.
Yeah, I'm very skeptical of this release. If they release one map with randomized bosses and loot, then charge $50, I'll personally boycott this company, and that is after 15 years of enjoying their stuff.
@@yungtux8770 This would be the third bad release, and frankly they have been declining for a while. Pay attention, or at the very least slap yourself with some sense.
This looks like the Souls-like co-op experience I was always hoping for. I really hope this is successful and gets expanded or integrated into future games.
This is very, very exciting. I don't want them to make Elden Ring again, I already have Elden Ring (and amazing mods like Reforged and Seamless Coop). A Soulslike Roguelike has been tried before, but this is From Software, using an incredible foundation to start with, so it has INSANE potential.
It's fine that it's not exactly like the base games because if anyone wants that experience just play those games. It's cool to see something new in the same world.
I think the main thing that will decide this game's success is a long term, sustained progression system. Whether it be record clearing times, character upgrade paths, it needs something to grind towards to show yourself as the best.
I don't think they will ever intend for this game to have long term success. It sounds incredibly experimental and is something to train new devs on. The amount of reused assets and price point also just shows how small the scale is for this game is
I hope I can play solo and offline like the other games, otherwise I won't buy it. They could also be more creative, they brought back bosses from other games, so it's recycling.
I love Roguelike games, and for me the most important thing is how broken build synergies can be. I hope the passive upgrade can be unique upgrades like making your normal attack shoot moonlight waves instead of just higher HP and damage
When I first saw the thumbnail for the trailer on YT, I instantly went "Ah, a new Elden Ring mod. Neat." Then I saw it was posted by Namco Bandai's official channel. I was blown away by everything presented in the trailer. I can't say I expected a single thing that came out of it, conceptually. Now I've calmed down a little and- yeah, it's a new Elden Ring mod. The asset reuse does give it that vibe, like a modder shoving mechanics from previous Fromsoft titles into ER because they can. Though, after finding out it's a new director, I still have hope. This seems more to me like someone at Fromsoftware is trying to find the next step in evolving the Soulslike formula, and throwing all the ideas at the board meeting into one package. I bet it'll be hit and miss, but the hits will be features we continue to see in future games.
Bro played the game for 7 hours and is giving us direct information from his experience. We can extrapolate and make some assumptions as FS critics.. this looks questionable
So long as we still get normal fromsoft games after this, I will give this game a shot. If this is the new norm, so long from, it was cool while it lasted
It won't be. From has demonstrated time and time again that they value their core player base. This is gonna be a fun side treat reusing lots of assets and taking a fresh spin on Elden Ring style gameplay. This is def the B team. Mark my words by the end of 2025 the main team will.announ announce the next mainline game.
An elden ring rogue-like is not a bad idea. A lot of people play that way on a much bigger scale when they do co-op anyway, so a short and sweet amalgamation of those efforts makes sense in theory. I'm interested in seeing how different combat will be with the different presets.
I’m can understand being weary. I like rogue likes and souls games, so I think I’ll enjoy it no matter what. But the fact that Miyazaki basically gave a younger dev the opportunity to solo direct a game himself to get experience and was allowed to experiment is I think a good thing for them to be doing. I’m happy about it being unexpected, even though I was also hoping for some armored core news
Ishizaki has worked on FS games since Dark Souls 1, so I think it's not really a case of charity towards a younger dev, but Miyazaki trusting that a longtime employee would do a good job of directing something experimental. Maybe Miyazaki himself is working on AC7, since we know he's gotta be working on something.
@@gu3z185 ditto what I said to the other guy. He’s certainly younger than Miyazaki, and yeah I hope it gives him more time to work on other things like AC7

So you’re telling me I can do seamless coop with my console friends and it’s an Elden ring randomizer/roguelike !? Free the people who lost hype over the concept but I’m sold
When I played elden ring through, I felt like it was perfect to have a roguelike mode when you're done and don't want to play PVP or play 100-hour long playthroughs. Since there are so many assets to find and bosses you can switch in and out. AND THEY ACTUALLY DID IT XD This is basically a roguelike elden ring
While I am a bit sad to not get the full soulslike experience, just thinking of fighting Gael or Artorias with multiple cool classes is enough to get me hyped!
I don't see how it's particularly risky, its a side project, an experimental game. If its mid? Just move on, not a big deal, especially after how successful ER was
I think if there's one thing FromSoft has shown it's that they know how to nail the fundamentals. That gives me so much more hope for this, even though it is a wildly different direction. With Elden Rings Open World and even some risks they took with the new weapons and systems in the DLC, I think they've shown they can handle different directions while still providing that solid framework. I am excited, and I suspect this will bring in new players that can't stomach RPGs typically, even if it will lose some fans who can't stomach rougelikes. Personally, a FromSoft rougelike with some meta progression is so perfect for my tastes I hadn't even considered it enough to ask for it, I am very excited, if a little nervous.
My concern about this is the replayability. Sounds cool for a couple games, then it would just get repetitive. If they have a random map every time you go in again, that might help a little bit. Hopefully it's better than it sounds right now. Don't get me wrong, it looks amazing. I'm just scared to spend my money on something that I wouldn't play over and over again.
One thing I really enjoy doing in Elden Ring and past Souls titles is to co-op with people online, helping them fight boss fights. One issue is that there can be a lot of waiting between getting summoned, and if I want to try out a new build I have to spend hours collecting the equipment and either respec or spend dozens of hours leveling up another alt. For somebody like me who loves the co-op of Souls games, this feels like a concept that would appeal to me greatly. No grinding for builds, no waiting for summons. Just drop into a quick session to do some randomized co-op. I'm excited!
This was super informative. I'm all for an Elden Ring spin off like this. FromSoft is allowed to just flex on us now with new projects and directors....My question is: If Miyazaki isn't directing this, what IS he working on?
I'd be willing to bet it's an Armored Core related thing, since he skipped out on a lot of work for AC6 and handed it off to another director, with there being rumors of another AC game in the works, and it being featured in that Secret Level show.
@@hare75 AC4+FA with modern graphics and actual balancing would be an absolute gaming masterpiece, so long as they don't keep AC6's unbreakable FCS lock. I've dreamed of it too, but I think we're gonna get another new AC game before then
So what this sounds like, is sth like an 'all-star boss rush mode' and the way you 'queue' into a game is via a lobby where you can invite 2 of your friends or go to online matchmaking. Newer skins can be obtained via an in-game-currency and they have their respective ults. What I also can see is that they could implement events where you can choose a boss from older games (ds1-3, bloodborne) to hunt just like seen in the trailer. Overall, I think its a cool idea but I'm a bit worried, I'll definitely wait until I commit to a purchase
Exactly. People decry how stagnant and unimaginative the industry is these days but when an established studio takes a risk for once people are suddenly crying.
My main issue isn’t that it’s rogue like or that it’s not a dlc, what i hate the most is that it’s filled with used assets which really makes me think that there isn’t a lot of original content
I REALLY appreciate this style of games with a come home and do some chill runs with friends and it wont take too much time. Thank you Fromsoft for always delivering quality!
Would this not be insane if they added a pvp / br element down the line? Youre all looting up fighting eachother and bosses whilst the ring slowly closses untill you all have to fight? Sounds amazing to me
this is the perfect opportunity to bring back 4 player co op from DS3 and yet they still don't, such a missed opportunity imo especially for a game like this
Looks pretty fun, I'm optimistic, hopefully not a new norm. It's also a good way From can give us bosses that didn't make it into the full game. (Pretty cool but weird seeing Nameless King. Idk how to feel about Nightreign being a crossover with Dark Souls) Edit: typo
Did you pay attention to any lore of any of the previous Souls games? Like at all? Interconnected worlds have been a concept since DS1. Solaire himself talked about heroes from other worlds being interconnected. Sure you can think that’s just talking about co-op but that’s small minded like come on it’s FROMSOFT we’re talking about, they NEVER have stuff that simple in their lore.
@ornsteinthedragonslayer2092 Yeah, there is lore justification for it, not a cop-out. But usually the interconnectedness is shown through things like the moonlight greatsword or Patches, not major story bosses (ik nameless is optional but his lore is significant. I do pay attention to it 😘) Tbh I think it works for this type of game though (Edit: considering the Orenstein user I will shoutout Old Dragonslayer ik I forgot about him lmao)
@@ornsteinthedragonslayer2092 The only games I can stretch to say might be set in the same world maybe are Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. They could added this as DLC easy. They can introduce a new character that can somehow transport them into an alternate dimension and that's it. But more Elden Ring is always welcome

No hate here, but this looks more like a high effort mod than a new game? Or maybe I'm underestimating it. I guess we'll see, anything new from fromsoftware is welcome
Optimistic, From gets one stinker before I'd cast any doubt on their upcoming projects, I think I'll enjoy this because I generally enjoy the early to mid game getting a build together to show off in co-op. Most of my characters I never bother to take into the late game unless I absolutely must have a piece of equipment gated behind Ashen Leyndell.
What piece of equipment would you absolutely need from ashen leyndell? Only thing I can think of is the sacred relic sword for farming the albs in mohgs palace.
From have already made subpar games before like Ninja Blade but bounced back fine. In fact the game they made after Ninja Blade was Demon's Souls. lol people doomposting for no reason.
This doesn’t feel like something FromSoft would do. Especially not for the same or similar price as SotE. It feels cheap and out of character. Not the concept itself but the exekution. Centipede demon, firekeeper, the nameless king? Even the trailer looks like its for a fan mod. Don’t get me wrong I’m a FromSoft meat rider but only if they make actually good stuff, which they have so far.

I love Elden Ring, DS3, DS2, Dark Souls, but each game was simply a slight upgrade to the last game. I can see that this might look cashgrabby off of Elden Ring’s success, but idk I appreciate them taking the gameplay system of those games and applying it to a new system that isn’t just another 40+ hour RPG. Just let loose and experiment with it, I’m sure they will be back to making a full length RPG at some point
My thoughts exactly. This game design also allows for players to actually do different things rather than sticking to the River’s of Blood the whole game or some basic build they make every run 😂
@Rye719I don’t think you’re overreacting. This is the first game from Fromsoftware that looks bad. Even if the theory that it’s a test for mechanics in their upcoming games turns out to be true, this is uncharacteristically anti-consumer and lazy for Fromsoftware.
Its kinda unfortunate that its not a part of the base game, but it doesnt matter all too much. It still looks sick as hell and i will definitely be buying this. Love the idea of them experimenting with different gameplay styles
I feel like it’s a big shame there’s no pvp, having another team drop on the map and trying to kill eachother + trying to kill the boss would make it more replayable and unoredictable, something like hunt showdown where you have groups trying to kill the bosses and themselves + the enviroment, would still retain the atmosphere and difficulty of elden ring while keeping it more contained
yeah co op without pvp is a little odd for a FS title but who knows. Maybe they'll have you fight your friends sometimes because of "insanity" or "a combat trial". This game seems better suited for invaders than OG elden ring funnily enough.

Those new classes sound like FromSoft tinkering around with new gameplay ideas. The Recluse, in particular, could have a lot of impact on the magic system in their next game with the way it absorbs certain damage types to charge its own spells.
this truly is darksouls 2: 2: 2
I'm dying for a real reactive magic system. Something that blends the environment and has natural counters that have their own biological/chemical/physical effects. Literally someone just rip off Avatar with the elemental bending.

Considering how From soft evolved in the last decade, I can't agree more with you. Testing new ideas and gameplay mechanics on a solid base to develop what was successful in future titles.
Casters have been stagnant since DS3 scaled back the improvements for Casters that DS2 brought forward.
Such as Catalyst Infusions.

Just to name a few.
I want to see Catalysts (Seals/Staves) to be treated as proper Caster weapons in the future. Such as being allowed Affinities, Ash of War variety, and an FP-free moveset similar to the Perfume Bottles.
(An example: Glintsword Staff conjuring a Farron Flashsword as its attack instead of...the staff bonk.)
I'm honestly tired of FromSoft trying to push Casters into playing Spellblades, so Nightreign gives me a bit of hope on this.

@@foxywoxy1915Sekiro did not have a customizable character and it still slapped.
I see this going one of two ways
1. Fromsoft is letting the director Ishizaki have a go at Nightreign to keep fans at bay (and mess around with new mechanics to see what sticks with the playerbase), whilst the A team works on bigger, more in-line-with-Fromsoft things
This was definitely in place well before Sony.
@@gu3z185 I'm all but sure that you're right on the money about their decision to make Elden Ring 'open world' in order to open the franchise to a wider audience. After seeing the nameless king in the trailer I was so confused at what this was going to be, but this is an excellent explanation.

This was a great rundown!
Nicely explained. Thank you! Hope single player is fully fleshed out and fun
Random generated map + weapon variety is the most important replay value for this game
@ that’s what I’m hoping they’ll focus on the most. If they don’t update it enough, the player base will suffer
Sounds like FS are making their own Remnant FtA game.
Really hyped on seeing how this is going to turn out
This does a better job explaining the game than anything else I've seen. Great work!

6 player worlds would go hard but i'm pretty sure this is just for testing purposes
I bet you that the poison swamp probability is twice as high as any other, and Myazaki is cackling in his room
After hearing all this im cautiously optimistic, this could be dope if we get content updates post launch
Is this only online or can we still play single player/offline ?
@blackmane1999 you can play it offline if you want
@ thanks for replying! Then i am super excited!
Noooo i cant have the wall as my biuld😭😭
Looks pretty fun, I'm optimistic, hopefully not a new norm. It's also a good way From can give us bosses that didn't make it into the full game.
(Pretty cool but weird seeing Nameless King. Idk how to feel about Nightreign being a crossover with Dark Souls)
Edit: typo
I do pay attention to it 😘) Tbh I think it works for this type of game though
(Edit: considering the Orenstein user I will shoutout Old Dragonslayer ik I forgot about him lmao)
@@ornsteinthedragonslayer2092 The only games I can stretch to say might be set in the same world maybe are Demon's Souls and Dark Souls. Even then there are too many differences in the roots of the lore for it to be true. Trying to cram all the different metaphysics across FromSoft's library into the same sausage only results in a distasteful mess.
Don't mistake references and creator signatures for proof.
They could added this as DLC easy. They can introduce a new character that can somehow transport them into an alternate dimension and that's it. But more Elden Ring is always welcome
Dude up you get an instant sub for life just for being invited. ER is my favorite game I’ve ever played in all my 48 years. I’m talking about pitfall ATARI and Mike Tyson’s punch out old schooler.
If I'm actually able to play it solo.
Already sold.
But if it's forced online, I may not buy it because I mostly play games solo.
I'm already not a super big fan of the hero-type games, but I love rouge-likes so I'll keep my hope and hype.
singleplayer listing on steam, up to 3 players I think. So you're gold.
Ign said that its wither solo play or 3 players
The games bosses will be balanced and designed arounf have 3 player even if you can play solo it will be a miserable time
This kinda sounds like casually accessible boss rush with “Elden ring” stamped on it to grab new users
Yeah, it doesn’t feel like Elden Ring at all, at least at this point.
@@Wolfii13 not supposed to it's a stand alone. Elder ring IP on it cause it allows to cut the massive cost of having to do assets from ground up which is pretty smart way to quickly make lot of content. It's a cool idea tbh and can be a fun time with friends to have some fun. Instead of the long epic journey as elden ring does.
I’d take that over the trash open world
@ I found the exploration similarity as challenging and rewarding as the boss fights… so I’m gonna have to disagree. But I’m sure there are others that feel the same as you.
And there's nothing wrong with that at all
Now we need a pvp focus game where theres no turning off taunters toungue and 6 player limit at least
Right?
I don’t know about all that, as someone who replays these games only for invasions I don’t think that’s a good idea. There needs to be stipulations to be invaded no matter what
Miyazaki test running Chalize Dungeons 2: Nightrein of the EldenBorne
With this one, the hype is slightly lowered by this not being DLC, but it sounds very interesting to see what they want to try out with it, also if the lore is in-world I NEEED to know whats going on
Man i'm really excited for this
Im glad From is doing something different
No hate here, but this looks more like a high effort mod than a new game? Or maybe I'm underestimating it. I guess we'll see, anything new from fromsoftware is welcome
Optimistic, From gets one stinker before I'd cast any doubt on their upcoming projects, I think I'll enjoy this because I generally enjoy the early to mid game getting a build together to show off in co-op. Most of my characters I never bother to take into the late game unless I absolutely must have a piece of equipment gated behind Ashen Leyndell.
Lol
Same
What piece of equipment would you absolutely need from ashen leyndell?
Only thing I can think of is the sacred relic sword for farming the albs in mohgs palace.
From have already made subpar games before like Ninja Blade but bounced back fine. In fact the game they made after Ninja Blade was Demon's Souls. lol people doomposting for no reason.
@@cjyoung5635what’s the point of farming when you can just play the game naturally?
This doesn’t feel like something FromSoft would do. Especially not for the same or similar price as SotE. It feels cheap and out of character. Not the concept itself but the exekution. Centipede demon, firekeeper, the nameless king? Even the trailer looks like its for a fan mod. Don’t get me wrong I’m a FromSoft meat rider but only if they make actually good stuff, which they have so far.
This is actually exactly what Fromsoft would do back before they started making souls games. Look at their back catalog and you can tell this is kinda in line with their history
This seems kinda cool. For what it is, I’m excited to try it out. A nice gift while we wait for Elden Ring 2 (I hope).
As a person who enjoys from soft games but doesn't have hundreds of hours to dive into games like elden ring and dark souls, I really appreciate a more condensed, less time investment games that I can enjoy the universe it's set in without the time commitment.
This seems like it would get repetitive pretty fast.
That's kinda what I was thinking also...
Who knows Elden ring has all the same bosses and different but similar play thrus but hey we play that over and over and over again
@@marcyoung9019 that's true. But this is a 10 minute gameplay loop.
Have you played Raven watch@@Bendanna93
@@Bendanna93if other rumors are to be believed, we’re looking at a $40 price tag… gonna wait for more info, but they’re not asking for a huge full price tag
Been playing Fromsoft games since Demon Souls. Honestly, I’m loving this concept, I get why some people are upset but this is a fresh take to the series.
I'm on board with everything... except the lack of PvP.
@@1mclvbrother you have like 6 mainline games with pvp, is it that big of a deal breaker?
Is the age of fire over?
Maybe I'm overreacting
Don’t you dare go hollow.
@Rye719I don’t think you’re overreacting. This is the first game from Fromsoftware that looks bad.
Even if the theory that it’s a test for mechanics in their upcoming games turns out to be true, this is uncharacteristically anti-consumer and lazy for Fromsoftware.
This game wasn’t directed by Miyazaki, so no. It’s a spin-off
@@zaynthemanewhy at the Game Awards. Their making seem like Elden Ring 2 when its not
Its kinda unfortunate that its not a part of the base game, but it doesnt matter all too much. It still looks sick as hell and i will definitely be buying this. Love the idea of them experimenting with different gameplay styles
Great video! Thank you for explaining how it works. I was really confused and couldn’t tell if it was a DLC or a new game.
Net code on FS games is terrible, and there's hackers too. Would be a nice addition though, like a betrayal mechanic.
yeah co op without pvp is a little odd for a FS title but who knows. Maybe they'll have you fight your friends sometimes because of "insanity" or "a combat trial". This game seems better suited for invaders than OG elden ring funnily enough.
You guys would just complain about every character being broken and needing a nerf
