- In this video we will change the engine oil on the FZ 25. 3M engine oil flush was used to flush the Yamaha FZ engine and later Shell advance ultra was filled.

I am currently using the shell adv ultra 10w40 on my FZS Fi and I feel that it is one of the best engine oil for the fz.
Earlier I had used the motul 7100 10w40 on my bike but strangely the engine used to feel a bit rough at higher rpm but the oil was overall fine, but in shell I could instantly feel the engine smoothness throughout the rev range and sleeker gear shifts from day 1. Even I got a slight increase of fuel efficiency of around 1.5 - 2 kmpl.

Yea 7100 makes the engine feel a bit rough, but better when revving hard. The lower FE may be due to revving hard :p (at least for me, it felt amazing when revved hard). Tried it on the Unicorn 160/Hornet/Gixxer/FZ25. Same results, basically on low capacity, low CR engines it gives the same result.
5100/Shell AX7/advance ultra are similar in feel though - smooth.
@@ShashankKR The 7100 even at 4k kms was reddish in colour and quite viscous which showed it could easily clock more kms, have to see what will be the condition of the shell ultra after 4k kms, I have just clocked around 800-900kms on the shell oil. I even feel that my bike has even become a bit silent while idling, not sure may be placebo effect :p
@@rajdip92 that's quite normal, the feel of fresh oil is always good. 7100 does cause the engine to sound a bit rough as well.

Guys make sure u can flush engine on alternate service intervals or don't use flush in every service or oil change . Lil amout of carbon should be there in engine is good foor engine only .

I have personally carried out this procedure on my fz25 at 7.5k kms. The oil take around a hundred kms to settle down and after that it performs really well. It lasted me around 4k kms during summers. Overall, great vfm engine oil.

After watching your video I was used Shell advance ultra 10w40 many times and I thought it's one of the best engine bike oil for my Apache 1604v and I touching 141 Kmph top speed with this oil. Really man it's best in Performance and fuel economy also💯

As all of us knows that some amount of engine oil always remains in engine even after draining. Does it(small amount of 3M flush mixed up with old oil) harm or changes the effectiveness of new fresh engine oil in engine?

If you are using a good engine oil and draining it regularly then flushing at every oil change is not required. Yes, you are right about 80000-100000km flush interval, so if someone interested then it's better to flush at 15-20k km 😊

I have a question regarding the filling of an engine oil . I asked this question to many of the moto vloggers but they couldn't satisfy me . Hopefully u are the one who could answer my query in the most comprehensive fashion.
I have been riding yamaha FZS V2 since a long . According to the user's manual 1100 ml should be poured during the oil change with the change in oil filter element but the servicing station guies pour only 1 liter . Does this have any detrimental effect to the engine ?

Have you checked the quantity of drained oil?
I personally fill engine oil till the oil level comes at least till the min mark. Even if you go by automotive maintenance handbooks they will suggest you fill the oil till the recommended oil level mark and then run the engine for sometime; After 15-20 mins again check the oil level.
Motul 7100 or shell advance ultra or power 1 ultimate for yahama engine
How about SAVSOL ENGINE OIL? They offer probably most affordable fully synthetic engine oils. It is also on API SN Grade.

Almost every engine oil in the market today comes with added detergents for keeping the engine clean. The type and quantity of detergents varies from different brands and their products.

Believe shell advance engine oil is the best.i use it on my splendor and bike gets very less vibration and good sound from exhaust. Also this oil makes Highway rides smooth and less hot engine. also I want to share another experience after using shell I decided to switch to Castrol and I did and it sucks my new bike felt like old roaring and struggling bike to move forward. immediately i switch back to shell and my bike life and my file is good

@@thesportztourer it was Castrol 20W-40 mineral oil.it is so horrible, most of the bike power is reduced.accelartion is very bad at uphills.also I regularly check my tire pressure and maintain according to the heromotor instructions.idk why hero mineral oil from factory never felt hot but as Castrol poured in I used to feel hot winds between my legs,believe me it felt like I was standing near a camp fire 🔥.shell advance is the best, synthetic oil is the key for maintaining good engine as it have cleansing technology the detergents

If you are already using 7100 then I you suggest you to try the Liqui Moly street race for the next oil change. Just make sure you go with 10W-40 grade 😊

It evaporated completely at I don't know how many kilometres
Engine was heating up whenever I was riding, when I went to mechanic for oil change at 5000km

Shell Advance has a 10w40 grade... would it be okay to use it on a Honda unicorn 160 for which recommended grade is 10w30?

As already mentioned by Rahul, Unicorn runs fine with 10W-40 grade. I personally know Unicorn riders who are happy with Shell advance ultra 10W-40 and a few of them have sticked to the same brand for more than 4-5 years. Could you please let me know the benefits of putting the oil filter in the engine oil?
Would you recommend the Shell advance ultra 15w50 over Motul 7100 20w-50 for the Ktm Duke. I currently run the Motul 7100 20w-50 and i can see foaming in the oil window after i run for some time but the foam quickly dissipates. I've read somewhere the motul 7100 does foam a little and quickly dissipates.
A bit of foaming is normal for engine oils. Engine oils do contain anti foaming agents which prevents and breaks the formation of foam. So even if there is foaming, as observed by you it will try to settle down quickly 😊

Have you tried the 5100 15W-50? My friend is using it on his TB 500 and is happy with the performance. Vibrations are inherit on these engines and engine oils don't have much to do in damping them. I have ridden a Classic 350 which was running on advance ultra and the oil was performing well even after doing 2500+km. Just make sure you go with the right grade: amzn.to/2AKohG2

I have a 10 year old hero Honda super splendor which engine oil flush will work the best as the oil change period are extended to Max to Max and sometimes not changed as it is for village purpose so not shops available.can you also suggest engine oil for the bike

hey what about liquid moly fully synthetic iam using past 3 4 times ..and I had used engine twice..one on first 750km and the second time around 3500 km service for my tvs ntorq carpurator variant 2018 model..

I think Honda India is using shell engine oil in their service. They called throttle.

Among the above I have used only Shell AX7 semi synthetic for my super splendor 125CC bike. This oil keeps the engine smooth at city usage speeds and Gear shift becomes butter smooth. Can hold up to 3k kms really well and it will need a change after that. Best oil for city commuter bikes. Rating: 7.5/10.

With the mentioned oil and drain interval you don't really need to flush the engine at this point. As I have earlier said flushing the engine is optional for riders like you who use good fully synthetic oils and drain them regularly. Still if you want to go for flush then 20-25k km should be a good time.

You can go for the flush and engine oil. If I remember correctly then 2012 FZ16 requires a different grade of oil so alternatively you can go for 7100: amzn.to/2AMulOm

Use Motul 7100, it's a long mileage oil. Use 300v for track day use. 300v2 is a good compromise between both.
