    It's not a beck. It's a B. E. C.

Thanks! I was wondering if I needed to remove the ESC red wire and you confirmed it.

I am a bit confused. How do I know if my new servo would need a BEC? Also should I always use a BEC if I'm hooking lights up? Thanks for the video man!

The only time you would need one is if you have dropouts when you’re turning your steering and the vehicle pretty much shut down that would mean your servo is drawing too much current. Know if you’re adding a couple sets of LEDs you should be fine but if you can find out what’s the BEC output of your esc aka amp

Terrance Wharry A lot of servo Will benefit with a higher voltage that will give you more torque. Now if you add LEDs in your turn your steering and your LEDs dim that’s in indication that yes you will need a BEC

@@TerranceTB12 I know this is old and you might of found your answer by now. You also would want to use a BEC when you have an after market servo. instead of getting standard 6.4volts. You may have a servo that aftermarket that can push up to 8.4volts. Really you only need an aftermarket if well you break your servo and want to upgrade. Also once you get into Maxx size 10th scales. then well you wanna replace any Traxxas Plastic servo at 1/5th with aftermarkets.
