  • Just a quick video talking about BEC's and how I install them.

    Huge thanks for your video!
There are lots of videos out there, but hard to see exactly what's going on when people are trying to explain when everything is on the vehicle. This is exactly what I needed, makes perfect sense now.
    Thanks mister! 😊

Thank you for simplifying everything I just wanted to power the high volt servo with 8.4 all the other videos wanted to run it through the receiver

used to use them till mambax came out. now all rigs run a mambax since the internal bec is great. great how to tho. hope to see ya soon =)

I am looking at adding a BEC to my Axial SCX24. It is running the stock ESC/receiver that is rated for 6-7.4V. I'm going to use an NSDRC RS100 servo that is rated for 5-8.4V.
In this case, can I use an 8.4v BEC or do I have to use a 7.4V? Will the 8.4V BEC be too much for my stock ESC or does that not matter?

Could i use an external bec like this to give proper voltage to an old servo?
I am interested in reusing some of my old stuff to make a winch servo.
I saw a how to on it but i am planning on trying this new high voltage stuff.
    Maybe 3s
The new electronics are a lot to catch up on!
Btw i sent your clodbuster series to my dirtbike racing buddy. He is hooked now too. 😄
That vidoe is like crack to off road guys haha.

Lol right on. Yup you can use a bec for an older servo for sure. Just need to check voltage rating of servo and set bec output voltage so you dont smoke that servo. I tend to set just below the servos max voltage. .5 to 1 volt less than max.

So what if your using a 2s 7.4v 50c battery, and your servo says it can go up to 8.4v, do you even need a bec, or can you just tap a jst directly to the battery? Currently adding a winch to my crawler, also if bec is not needed, should I have a ground going both to the jst tap to the battery and another to the receiver, or will just having a signal wire alone to the receiver be ok?

I would still run the BEC to the servo, you wont get the most that your servo is capable of, but you wont be pulling all the amperage through your reciever. If you can ground it, do it.

will the bec run batt down when not in use?

The BEC itself will not run the battery down. Everything that is hooked to the output of the BEC will draw some juice if your battery is plugged in.

spectrum receivers can handle 9 volts.
