Apparently there is an option to disable screen rotation, but it is not 'disable autorotate' but rather 'force landscape' or something. Bring up the full top menu to find it.
Thanks for the video definitely earned a sub from me. It’s pretty good idea to actually show the screen on RP5 vs. something like a newer iPhone as most people associate newer iPhone displays with top notch OLED like quality and the comparison of RP5 been superior took me by surprise. A niche small gaming handheld company that focus on emulation/android gaming produced a superior display than most new mobile displays at 10~15% of the price
A fellow Ready 2 Rumble enjoyer! 🥊💥 Thanks for covering the button remapping-- I was hoping it would have more options, but hardly a deal-breaker. I have a hacked OLED Switch already, but I might end up picking this up for an even more portable option with a more consolidated frontend. Great video; best of luck with your already growing channel :)
I'll definitely get to work on that as a priority over the next couple of days. Slay The Spire is working perfectly. The other 2 titles I tried aren't working. I'll try out a bunch more.
Hey Ryan. Great video! I usually watch ETA prime or retro game corps when it comes to these handhelds, but you beat them to the punch! A couple of games I would love to see on this device are some of the heavy hitter ps2 platformers (i.e. Jak and Daxter, Ratchet and Clank) as well as gameplay when the RP5 is plugged into a tv. Keep these videos coming ! 😁
4:45 you can use the same key mapping app to set the right analog to control the camera movement... I did it in my RP2S 🤷♂️ 5:12 if I'm not mistaken that's because the frontend or emulator is missing a configuration between them 🤔 I use Daijisho so can't remember what it was, but it's fixable 👍
Pojav launcher is a launcher for java minecraft on android so you don't have to play pocket edition. Notice how it by default runs minecraft 1.7.10 which is way easier to run than modern versions like 1.21.1 - would be really helpful to see the latest stable version of java minecraft if you want to explore that.
I'm glad to hear it worked! In terms of performance it'll be very similar but the ergonomics and screen are light-years ahead. I'd upgrade for the screen alone personally. But the performance will be close so it's not worth upgrading if you're happy with the ergonomics and screen of the rp4p already.
Sorry about that, I'm using my Osmo Pocket 3 which is a wide-angle 20mm lens. I can hook up my professional camera for some future videos if it's a concern.
That's not the Launcher's fault. You're using a version of AetherSX2 that doesn't support external launchers because it wants to serve you ads. Use 3668 or NetherSX2 if you want launcher support again
fyi, the screen rotation is a balatro thing, it always rotates based on angle regardless of rotation lock setting - some games will just do that and some will respect the setting.
It's likely only going to be able to handle lighter games. So far it's crashing on 99% of titles. I'm going to work on a video about that system specifically over the next few days.
I know you can’t tell how to get the isos and actual games. But for example is the ps2 emulator installed in the retroid already ? And for the isos would I be able to get them directly from the device or I would have to plug it into a pc ? Thanks
The emulators are already installed (you can see this in my unboxing video) and you can get whatever you need from the device itself because it's Android so you can just use the built-in Chrome browser.
Please do a video about game streaming, Chiaki and Xbox Cloud in particular because I‘m worried the screen is a little bit too small tobread text in HD games.
I don't get why ppl are so uptight about some fingerprints when all of them have a smartphone they're watching this video on that is full of them and it doesn't bother them there...?
Great video man! Keep going 💪- Stubbs
Thank you so much! Love your channel 😊
Blessed by the nub himself
Great breakdown. Im glad you were given a test model and got tonshow it off!
Thank you! I'm going to work on it more! New content coming today :)
Apparently there is an option to disable screen rotation, but it is not 'disable autorotate' but rather 'force landscape' or something. Bring up the full top menu to find it.
Thank you, I'll look into it today
There is a forced landscape option that is separate to the auto rotate, its in the same menu though.
This video was recommended to me today! I see that you're a new up and coming retro TH-camr. Looking forward to more videos :)
Thanks a lot! I'll be putting out some new content tomorrow :)
Glad to be apart of a channel that's still growing! I see great things for you!
Thank you so much, you're so kind
Great video bro. Always nice seeing another slay the spire enjoyer like me.
Thank you! Slay the Spire is my life at this point
Hell yea Ryan good choice on making a channel this was a great vid, much success to you!
Thank you so much, you're so kind. I'll keep working on it!
Subscribed. I was torn between this and the 4 pro but im convinced now. Perfect pair with my rog ally
Glad to help
The device Looks very premium.
It feels very premium in person too
thanks for the videos, keep them coming! looking forward to a psvita comparison!
Definitely wanted to see tag force cause that's mostly what I'll be playing. Looks so good.
It's such a good game!

Thanks for subscribing :) yeah it's something I haven't seen other channels do and I thought it'd be a good point of reference for the screen quality

Thank you so much! I'm so excited to get back into that game again
I can't wait to get mine ! Thank for the video.
how did you get a review unit?
Great video. Would love to see some more light weight switch emulated. Some Pico-8 for laughs. Can't wait for my day 1 order to arrive!
I'll definitely get to work on that as a priority over the next couple of days. Slay The Spire is working perfectly. The other 2 titles I tried aren't working. I'll try out a bunch more.
@@RyanRetro1 Could you try Football Manager Touch (Switch game), please? Instant buy if the game can be played in this device.
I'm a big fan of football manager so I'll see if I can get it working
@@RyanRetro1 Thanks a lot. Please, please try the game. Either FM24 or FM23, any FM will be fine for me.

Thank you for the comment! I love their videos too.

I did it in my RP2S 🤷♂️
5:12 if I'm not mistaken that's because the frontend or emulator is missing a configuration between them 🤔
I use Daijisho so can't remember what it was, but it's fixable 👍
Ordered one last night. It's gonna be so hard waiting for the next few weeks
Glad i waited, I'm going to get this over the mini
What front-end do you recommend, ES-DE, Launchbox or Dajisho
I'm going to be testing out ES-DE tonight and the others this week!
How did you get a review unit with like 100 subs?
Favours 😉
🍆💋
Knee pads. @@AB_223
I was thinking the exact same thing..
Diddy

The Algo works, I am your target audience! how much of an upgrade vs the rp4p is this in your opinion?
I'm glad to hear it worked! In terms of performance it'll be very similar but the ergonomics and screen are light-years ahead. I'd upgrade for the screen alone personally. Great showcase! This quenched my thirst
Glad to hear it :)
Instant subbed
Thank you so much!
Is latency better than on odin2?
There is a slight fisheye lens effect going on that makes it hard for me to determine the shape and size of RP5
Sorry about that, I'm using my Osmo Pocket 3 which is a wide-angle 20mm lens. I can hook up my professional camera for some future videos if it's a concern.
Using that screen to button mapping android thing: would this work for pubg mobile too?
It should do. I'll test it!
Amazing video Ryan
Thank you so much !:)

Wish I had the money for this 😢 Saving saving😊
Hope you can get one soon 🙏🏻
Great pair of first videos. Just subscribed.
Thank you so much!! :)
This good i want it❤
fyi, the screen rotation is a balatro thing, it always rotates based on angle regardless of rotation lock setting - some games will just do that and some will respect the setting.
Do the magical thing we can't name can only play indie games or you can still play some first party games (like remaster, for example)?
It's likely only going to be able to handle lighter games. So far it's crashing on 99% of titles. I'm going to work on a video about that system specifically over the next few days.
@RyanRetro1 Thanks. Just don't run too close to the edge. :)
Incredible screen i will sell my RP4 Pro for this
Can you please do some local and gamepass streaming?
Alright quick question: how do you turn off RGB on the analogue sticks?
There's a control on the drop-down menu. You can change the colour and also how bright they are. I'll show it in my next video.
I know you can’t tell how to get the isos and actual games. But for example is the ps2 emulator installed in the retroid already ? And for the isos would I be able to get them directly from the device or I would have to plug it into a pc ? Thanks

How did you get this so fast😮
Does it get to 90c while charging like the mini?
One thing I want to cover in a future video is it got crazy hot while transferring files from a connected USB hard drive
That screen blows my mind... and actually the launcher is outdated and will be changed with the new one before the retail units
Please do a video about game streaming, Chiaki and Xbox Cloud in particular because I‘m worried the screen is a little bit too small tobread text in HD games.
It will be game dependent.
Guess nobody told him about force landscape
I've had a few comments about this but I can't find it
Really a shame that the sound and speakers are so poor on the rp5
More videos MORE!!! :)
Working on another one now!
imo, the phone OLED is not meant to be super saturated. Games you want saturated, but it doesn't say anything about the quality of the phone.
Try jak 3
The iPhone screen is better
Side by side the RP5 screen looks better to me. The iPhone's 90hz refresh rate is so nice, though.
I don't get why ppl are so uptight about some fingerprints when all of them have a smartphone they're watching this video on that is full of them and it doesn't bother them there...?
Because people on the internet complain about everything.
Personally they don't bother me at all either. I saw a lot of comments from people worried about them so wanted to show it here :)
Fingerprints are never visible on lit surfaces, but they‘re quite obvious on the dark areas around them ie where the buttons are.
Last
Im sorry and with all due respect but, who are you? Lol
