If I had to look someone in the eye while being told to remember their name, I would simply set myself on fire, because that's less painful.

2:22 "Squib" is, in fact, a slur. The Wizarding World is extremely racist, classist, and elitist, which is why it and Mudblood are in the common vernacular.
I mean, it's also all allegories for real life slurs/stereotypes. The goblins with big noses and greed are definitely a stand in for Jewish people, etc. It's honestly pretty terrible stuff to teach kids about people who are "other". Doesn't change that it was a phenomenon.

In Scotland, we use "a damp squib" to mean something promising being a disappointment. Pretty sure it's an old word for fireworks.

Um, actually, in 3.5 edition, the Paladin mount is explicitly classified as not an animal. They are classified as a magical beast due to being of a celestial nature. This is an important distinction since it means that spells that specifically target animals (like Charm Animal) do not affect them.
It also means that feats specifically for animal companions do not target them either.

Um actually, saying that the cat was Salem isn't 100% wrong. Once filming wrapped on Hocus Pocus, eventually the animatronic used for Binx was repurposed for use on the ABC adaptation of Sabrina the Teenage Witch. So Binx isn't Salem, but in a way, he BECOMES Salem!

um actually, it looked like Murph was pretty close on where he put Rivendell. just on the west side of the central/north part of the Misty Mountains, along the Bruinen river. he SHOULD'VE gotten the shiny question point.
I remembered Karen! But that was metagaming because I was like, "Why would they show him telling everyone the PA's name? They never do that". If I was on the show, I probably wouldn't remember.... I'm terrible with names :(

@@15thCrypt True, but that's always for gameplay reasons. Things like people bringing props on and off set are usually just edited out for time.
I'm bad with names, but Karren is a name that stands out. But at the time this was originally recorded it must not have been.
Every guess Demi made I was thinking so close, and figured he would get it.
I thought it was weird for them to include it in the montage, since in every other episode before that they'd never show them being handed the boards or having them taken back, but didn't put more thought into it, just thought they wanted to make the video a bit longer for some reason or another.
In the studio, it probably happens similarly in every episode, but the players would just assume that part would be edited out. (Just like the time they spend drawing or arranging their boards on shiny questions.) Because in most episodes, it *is* edited out.
So the actual difference was probably pretty subtle and unremarkable if you're not thinking about it, just that Trapp mentions her name in part of something said to camera, not separately just to the players.
That final question was dirty, I love it

Um, actually, Binx never makes a verbal protest, but instead claws at Max's hand. Both his sister and Allison actually try to dissuade him before he lights the candle. It's only after lighting the black flame candle does Binx show up and call him an idiot.

Um actually they are NOT cursed to turn to stone during the daytime. That is in their nature. They are cursed to remain in stone until Castle Wyvern soars above the clouds, hence why they awake in present day New York when Xanatos put the castle on his skyscraper.

Um actually, Rivendell is located at the foot of the Misty Mountain's western edge at the end of the Rhudaur river, so Murphy was in fact correct in labelling Rivendells location.
Umm, actually no it is not, it is on the western middle side of the misty mountains, at the edge of a narrow gorge of the river Bruinen. It is north of Moria.
I know it's a small map and large labels, but their Rivendell placement definitely makes it look like Rivendell is in Mirkwood. Like, that label is exactly where I'd put Thranduil's Hall or whatever his base is called.
Um actually, I thought the reason why paladin mounts don't count as animal companions is their divine origin making them closer to familiars than animal companions.
Correct, in 3.5 they are celestial magical beasts that cannot be affected by animal-specific spells/AoE attacks (but I only just learned this from another comment)

Fun fact, the cockatrice turns you to stone just like medusa.
In some variations I know of it's either by looking into it's eyes, or it has a breath spray that does it.
In some versions its cry just straight up kills you.
Also if a cockatrice was a drink, it would be a cement mixer

Them not remembering her name, while fun, was understandable I think. If it had been in a different context, maybe it would have gone differently, but in those scenes the attention was on the huge boards she was carrying, they probably weren't listening to anything at all, and juat thinking "What the hell is this?"

A squib as a term for a non magical person from a magical family makes sense (but is still harsh) as it’s the term for a firework that fails to go off.
Squib is a real word in English. It either means a small firework or a short piece of satirical writing.
It also means a packet of fake blood that can be burst with some kind of trigger to create the impression of being hit by gunfire for theater or filming. Although I bet that term originates from the small firework.

Someone may have done this already but: Um Actually, It ISNT a different talking cat, they used the same animatronic feline for both Hocus Pocus and Sabrina the Teenage Witch.
That's like saying Captain America and the Human Torch are the same because Chris Evans played both of them in different movies. Thakery and Salem are different characters but played by the same animatronic.

They are different talking cats. This we can say for certain as the animatronic isn't a talking cat at all. The characters are the only things that can be classified as being both talking and cats, and the characters are different.

7:41 Um, Actually while there is an elven civilization in Northern Mirkwood Forest, that is not Rivendell; Rivendell is to the *West* of the Misty Mountains, which can be seen in the Fellowship of the Ring movie, as the hobbits plus Aragon go to Rivendell, and only after the fellowship is formed do they do any mountain climbing (which is when Gimli talks them into cutting through Moria instead of trying to take the mountain pass). You can see the same thing in The Hobbit, where Bilbo and the dwarves pass through Rivendell (where Elrond teaches them to read the moon runes) before they try to cross the mountains and get captured by Goblins living in the Misty Mountains.
The place you've labeled as Rivendell is only referred to as "The Woodland Realm", where Thranduil rules the Sindar (Wood Elves). That's where Bilbo sneaks the dwarves downriver and earns the title "Barrel Rider".

I'm actually great at remembering names. It makes people feel special when you remember their name and use it to greet them or bid them farewell.

I have to um, actually the "time travel" element of A Christmas Carol, because while they are seemingly traveling in time, it's more akin to seeing ones memories in the period where they took place, as you cannot interact with anything. I don't care this episode is over 2 years old 😂

Um actually for animal companions, there is more than one other class with animal companion as a class feature. There is also a bard variant and a few prestige classes that give animal companions including Gatekeeper Mystagogue and Planar Shepherd.
There is also a few ones that give interesting variants of animal companion but the feature isn't called that. My personal favorite is Peregrine Runner which gets animal companion but can only choose a peregrine falcon as the animal.

I love how I would have gotten the cockatrice one mainly because 1. I know she mythology but most importantly: my first thought was Tales of Vesperia/Tales of Symphonia with the Cockatrice enemies that haunted me whenever I encountered them (especially in the ToV coliseum where you only have one character you fight as so you would have to equip charms to prevent status ailments...) because the damn things could freaking poison and/or petrify you...
So I heard the word "cockatrice" and immediately had PTSD flashbacks to getting freaking petrified while trying to kill the damn thing and then being forced to try again...

I think it's hard to get precise with those huge labels. One of their Isengards was definitely pretty close. (I also can't believe that not only did none of them get any points, but that pronunciation of barad dur made me feel physically ill)

So fun fact about Harry Potter, because squibs can't use magic, they often integrate into the muggle world and just live basically as muggles. Because of this, this is how muggleborns are born, all or most muggleborns have an ancestor who came from a wizarding family, probably a squib.
um actually there is no proof what so ever that squibs are responsible for muggleborns. While it's a brilliant thought exercise used in fanfiction its not canon. It just seems canon because a lot of fics use it- just like how Sirus Orion Black doesnt actually have the middle name Orion, even though it sounds right. Never mentioned in the books at all.
I hope they do a Crunch Time with the Jeremy Bearimy at some point.

Um actually, the song isn’t what spawned the meme. The song references the scene in Portal that spawned the meme however, in which GLaDOS promises cake after the final experiment, but in fact she is sending Chel to an incinerator room.
Um actually, while GLaDOS does makes the referenced lie, the meme is specifically from graffiti written behind a test room panel where, presumably, a previous test subject had been hiding.
