- In this video I finally answer the viewers questions, I plan to fillm more videos like this so ask away, but today I answered the infamous question, "What mods have you done to get that fast". Although this isn't the fasted ram on TH-cam it is however pretty quick, especially considering what is actually modified on this Ram.

Man you got me wondering how much hp I'm putting to the wheels. Matt is also my tuner. Actually Matt has done all the work to my truck and I love it. I have a 2016 Ram RT with Vararam, 180 T-stat, fan delete, ARH catless long tubes, ported intake and ported throttle body with the HP ECM tuned by Demon Motor Sports. Also Belltech 2/4, Inez no cut brackets, Spohn panhard bar, and airlift helper bags. From the numbers you're putting I'm really feeling good about my setup. And you're right about Matt Brown's customer service. Couldn't ask for a better guy.
Sheesh depending on your wheel size and climate you should be pretty damn close, maybe even a little higher, my dyno results came off of a dyno jet. Next time i go up there im gana have to holler at you f.s.!

I use my truck alot for offroading/prerunning, definitely going with the catch can and the thermostat with the tune first. Deserts here in AZ are hell lol
OH for sho!!! In your case I'd recommend doing the fan delete with the v6 fan swap.
Nice build brother love it, i have an 06 1500 mega cab 5.7, want to get more power out of it and still keep it as a daily driver, and suggestions, i do have plans on changing my exhaust, thought about changing my heads, cam, and intake, im in northeast texas 35 min east of Dallas

I got a 2005 ram 1500 single cab 4.7 4wd and it’s fully restored(paint job, new suspension, trans,etc) and it has a total of 72k miles. First mod was drilling holes in the bottom of the air intake and a drop in k&n filter which made a noticeable difference. I’m going to do a 93 can tune from accel for now and then get rid of the cats. The truck before the intake mod would outrun 5.9 Cummins trucks by a few lengths. I’ll also probably do a cooler thermostat to keep it reliable. These videos make me excited to modify my truck!

I don’t plan on ever using nitrous or anything similar. I want to keep it reliable. 4.7s are reliable but can’t take as much abuse from nitrous a 5.7 can.

K designs have a couple of styles to pick from they call them splitters. Mine however is custom, I actually built it from scratch.
What do you think of the whipple supercharger for the 4.7L flex fuel E85. easy to support the belt rotor at 100000+ miles?

Honestly I found it used, so idk what it was originally built for but it fits perfectly, it's a A.W.S. below rail box I know that much.

Can't go wrong with a 4th gen quad cab RAM with HEMI (2012 Express 5.7 red 4x2 with duals and 3.55 rear i believe with antispin thats in need of fluid change and six speed automatic transmission approaching 150000) i want to get a RAM sport with the zf8, 3.92 and 4x4 of the same bed/cab configuration better equipped than the Big Horn/Lonestar edition.

With a p1x stage 2 procharger fic 650cc injectors hellcat lifters mds delete hardened rods upgraded cpac valve springs, ATI lower pulley green racing stage 2 hl boost cam from Jay Green also tuned by him as well stage 6 2 step, paramount 3600 stall granetelli exhaust cut out and Flowmaster American thunder muffler. Soon to get long tubes

I had a Catch can on my SRT8, honestly never thought about installing one in my ram. I’m surprised you don’t have Headers & True Duals.
A few have done true duals and lost low end torq, for a heavy truck i decided i need to retain all the torq i can, but im still considering headers, i just like how little noise the engin bay has with the manifolds, i do still daily this truck.

New sub here from houston, I have a question for you bud. I have a 2015 dodge ram hemi 5.7 hemi. I'm not a racer but I want to turn off the mds without paying out the ass. I've seen on TH-cam about using the gear - and plus on the steering wheel. If I go to plus 8 does that actually delete mds, I appreciate any advice brother, John ( sugarland tx ) if your from this area and have a race coming up, please let me know, I'll definitely come out and support you
That doesn't delete anything, just disables it.
Can we get an update on the air intake ? I’ve heard tons of people complain that it doesn’t seal all the way and let’s a lot of dirt through. Thanks for the video
It seals great It generally has that issue due to user error. You think I should make a video explaing it all?
@@Rep361Texas yeah that would be awesome, I know that air intake is pretty popular. I’ve seen some guys use weather stripping to get a better seal. It would be cool to see you explain it
I’ve had mine for 3 years no issues and I clean it about every 20k ish depending on where I’ve been driving.

buy a tuner if you have a newer truck you need a unlocked pcm
Wait so you don’t have a e-fan installed and you’re running only the radiator fan to cool the engine?. Is Jay green a good tuner or are there better options and why didn’t you choose a 6.4 hemi intake over the ported 5.7. I’m surprised that your truck can really move without the 6.4 intake, ported throttle body,long tube headers, 4000 stall converter ,3.92 or 4.10 gear swap. MSD coils, straight pipe, drag radials and obviously a cam. Common sense that nitrous is what’s pushing this ram to move but still it’s quick for how little mods the truck has especially full weight.
Correct! I will say the factory fan cpuld use replacement but only struggles in temperatures over 100°f , and only at times of extended idle. Jay green is a good tuner although thats not who i went with, Matt Brown has been amazing with customer service and over all a huge help with learning about this platform, i couldn't be happier with his services. So at the time i was actually gifted the ported 5.7 intake i did some research and Tuned Rams has a video showing that a properly ported 5.7 intake gets more airflow than a stock 6.4, but a ported 6.4 intake is king as far as stock intakes go. Overall my decision to run the 5.7 ported was because i had one in possession at the time &it was an upgrade over stock. But you're correct the truck even impresses me for what all is done. I recently did the DMS Hellraiser cam kit and im gearing up to get back to the track for a comparison video. I still am not running a stall quite yet and longtubes are in the plans, all and all i do mods as i can afford them and im doing so on a tight budget. I'd say custom tune. If your going for power gains, if custom tuning is out of reach (in Terms budget of budget) then go with the a cold air intake for sure. I also picked up my ported plenum for next to nothing off of a trade in truck so I made out on that mod and it was a another good gain, ....but really once you go so far without tuning you will only be hurting yourself. The ecm needs to know certain parameters have changed in order to know how to run the truck at its best. I hope this helps!!!

Note ..the TRX isn't a drag truck.. it being in the 12's is just a bi-product of it's set up.. but the TRX's with just pulleys and tunes are getting low 11's high 10's now.

The Ram 1500 was designed to be a passenger truck, capable of light duty towing.... But when sprayed with go go juice and minor bolt-ons it can turn into a fun weekend warrior. Neither are designed to be drag raced.

Belltech, then added an adjustable spaun panhard bar and inez rear end relocation kit to round it all off. Rides great and handles the power well

Lets do a little math here, 395 factory @crank, Plus 125hp shot of nitrous,(dialed in correctly)=520hp.... yes drive line loss I got you... so 520hp-80hp for driveline (because 8 speeds are efficient as hell) So your saying that with tuning, forced air intake, ported plenum, clutch fan delete, colder engine temps, and custom high flow exhaust, that I can't re-gain 80hp? The better question is if I wasn't making at least 500hp, then how was I even able to play with a supercharged 12sec Trx. The best question is what do u think a 500hp quad cab Ram should run in the quarter mile?

You have the wrong mindset brother, it's not about that. Thair enough bs on the tube. I can be wrong though make detailed vid on parts time and money you where your 1500 is on trx level. Bc just to build a 700hp motor the needs a forged internals, unless you want to rebuild the same motor over and over reliable builds here.
@@bri7929 I have maybe 6k into a 38k truck, so for a total of 44k i can walk a trx, before the cam i was door to door with a trx, video is literally in the channel, my truck makes over 500hp to the rear tires and is highly reliable, 57k on the truck 40 bottles of nitrous ran through it. Go ahead and get the notifications on, you'll see soon truck last ran a 12.7 in horrible conditions without the cam, Cant wait till i get it back to the track now.
