This channel has SO much potential! Also i love the Miata and the fact you bought it for that ammount of money and got that amazing result is INCREDIBLE!! Deffinitely subbed!
Just an FYI- The Na miata runs what is called a "wasted spark" ignition system. Cylinders 2 & 3 share a coil, and 1 & 4 share a coil. They can be swapped in sequence as long as they are on the correct coil, as the coil fires both cylinders at the same time. Having cyl. 2 & 3 plug wires swapped makes no effect.
That's how I got my Miata! It was sitting in a field for a year and a half and the inside was just so very dirty and wet. We're still in the process of cleaning and fixing it, but it looks so much better than when it was in the field
Good job on the interior. The only other thing you could have done is remove the center console to easily clean the console plus carpet underneath. While it was off you could also check the condition of the shifter boot and change the gear oil in the shifter sump.
I like how youre using products that you can find at your local Walmart like the turtle wax. usually when you see detailing vids on TH-cam, you always find them advertising some 200$ bottle of cleaner and you can only order them online. good vid!
Nice job! I got a 95 R-Package for 1500, but it was stuck in reverse and the drivers seat is shot. Your seats look perfect! I may follow your detail lead!
I'm good with interior detailing, did so after my Charger was flooded in my driveway, creek overflowed so there was sand all in it and I had it looking brand new and the smell was gone as well, not so good with exterior though, always afraid I'll screw up the paint
Wow great work! For the exterior, if you follow some simple rules and use a Dual Action polisher, it’s very easy to get great results - even for a beginner!
Same here. No one has detailed my interior to my standards so I started doing it and love it. I pay people to do the exterior, but think I'll try it. Great video!
Great video, thank you! its time to put the miata in the garage now over winter. im so happy i found this video. know iknow exactly what i will do to it in the winter
I'd love to see you detail the $1200 cars around me. They're mostly half a rusted chassis of a 90's honda civic, some of the original engine components, and a few painted body panels on the side of the road.
Thanks for watching and commenting, that’s too funny! He’s one of my favorite youtubers so I can see what you mean. Be sure to checkout some of the recent vids!
Thank you! There’s a special cover that goes covers the top when it’s down. I believe it comes with the car from the factory. This roof was a cloth material instead of a vinyl, so I didn’t end up using any UV blocking products on it.
I got the passenger seat out no problem. The problem is the driver seat doesn’t move very far forward making it very difficult to get the two rear seat bolts loose/removed in that much tighter space. Sid you have similar difficulty, and what did you do/use?
Great work! Your $1200 car is worth much more now. I know you were busy (and exhausted from cleaning), but product shots for a few seconds each would be helpful. Which pad did you use on the scratches - microfibre? Thank you, and enjoy your Miata!!!
Definitely worth it! Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll try that in the videos to come! Links to anything I use are in the description. As far as the pad, I’m using a meguiars microfiber cutting disc. They’re fantastic!
Very good work. 80% perfection looks like 100% perfection. But the 20% needs so much time, energy and money...useless. Like battery charging... I have the same mentality with my daily driver car.
Finding an na in that condition for 1200 was lucky. The na's are becoming more and more rare and expensive. I'm just glad I have me one. It's a 1990 1.6 that's been garaged nearly all its life.
this is a really similar story with my Miata: mine was WAY more filthier with old wrappers plastics bottlecaps and so much more literall trash everywhere i looked inside the car. also the rear window zipper was broken of and the car has been seeing alot of water for about a month making the interior and the seats even more disgusting. The bumper and wheels arch on the left have a really big dent which i still have to fix. but for now i have a clean pretty sealed miata which i daily drive. its completly stock except the radio and i just love to drive around in it :) i could also upload some pictures to my homeserver later and link them here of the cars original state. BTW i only payed 350€ ;) but had to put another 1.5k worth of rust repair on the wheel arches (typical stuff, wasnt to bad tho) breaks, Inspection and some other bits and pieces. 2nd gear is a bit grindy at some times but else it shifts and drives nicely and i gonna love driving it the first time in summer this year. Got it in winter last year.
Love the effort you put into this, I really thought you had thousands of subscribers before checking. Great work.
Really appreciate the comment man!
Same honestly.
Ayo nice pfp Roger
Miata content best content. So cool to see you restoring that tired miata!
I enjoyed it so much!

Loved this video, I also recommend clearing the rain rails while your cleaning :)
Thanks for watching, this one was a lot of fun!
oh yea we got some Miata content ... watching from Las Vegas
Interesting! The new plugs and some other minor things made it run much better!
That's how I got my Miata! It was sitting in a field for a year and a half and the inside was just so very dirty and wet. We're still in the process of cleaning and fixing it, but it looks so much better than when it was in the field
Sweet! It’s a tough but very rewarding process. Good luck with it!
Good job on the interior. The only other thing you could have done is remove the center console to easily clean the console plus carpet underneath. While it was off you could also check the condition of the shifter boot and change the gear oil in the shifter sump.

5:57 oh Hyundai Tiburon on the background, like my car😅
Love it! Mine was also $1,200.00 when I got it a few years ago. You earned a subscriber!
Sweet! Enjoy the upcoming content👍 thanks for subscribing
I get excited when I see a notification from your channel.
That’s awesome, thanks for the continued support man!!

Staying budget friendly and realistic but still getting great results! Thanks for watching!
Every time you show the front of the miat I can’t help but think he’s smiling because he’s getting what he deserves
Haha they always smiley so its well deserved for sure!
8:49 you have the "Title Subtitle" text might wanna fix that
Thanks pocket shark 🦈
I was thinking what kind of inside joke that is? :D
Nice job! I got a 95 R-Package for 1500, but it was stuck in reverse and the drivers seat is shot. Your seats look perfect! I may follow your detail lead!
Yeah the seats were in pretty great shape! That still sounds like you got a deal, considering how cheap parts are for these! Good luck
Where are people finding miatas for 1200
Getting harder and harder :(
@@DmDetails I swear

Fantastic job. I wish that I could find a Miata like this around where I live
Thank you! They’re getting hard to find in general
The best!!! Always 🤩👏🏼👏🏼
Thanks for the support!
Better then detail geek!
Amazing restoration. Looks brand spanking new!
Thanks!! Checkout some of the recent miata restoration vids

It looks brand new! Good work
Thanks!! It sure cleaned up good
I'd love to see you detail the $1200 cars around me.
They're mostly half a rusted chassis of a 90's honda civic, some of the original engine components, and a few painted body panels on the side of the road.
LOL!
Great video dude. I'm in the process of buying an MX5 at the moment and this video helps loads!
Thanks, glad you found it helpful! Enjoy that miata :D
Because of the batch fire ignition cylinders 3 and 2 can be switched without issue.
Good to know!
new sub, i love the miata, and how u clean it
Did a great job on the Miata!
Great Job! I’ve got an NB in silver the needs a little shine-ola. I’ll get right on it!
Cool, it’s the perfect time to do that while it’s yuky outside!
carpet is looking fresh now!
Need details on waterproofing the engine
I'd cover the battery/alternator and opt to do a low pressure rinse or steam cleaning instead of pressure washing. Cheers!
Great work man!
Appreciate it!
Great tips that will try on my Miata.
This is my favorite car, I have a Corolla as a daily, I want this to be my fun car.
That would be such a reliable duo!
Awesome time lapse
Thanks !!
Nice detailing!
howsome video keep this type of quality i love it!
Thanks, will do!
Hey man nice work a good tip save the wheels for last so any dirty water from washing the body doesn't ruin your wheels you just cleaned
Thanks for the comment & tips!
I like to do the wheels first usually so the car doesn’t dry off and get water spots.
@@DmDetails fair enough, I normally just keep wetting the car so it doesnt dry and then dry it with a drying towel for no watermarks
Really good job on the car and the video
Nice car man put a klze in it using the crapengineering bell housing kit and it will rock
I bet!!
keep it up and soon you'll have a ton of subs!
Thanks! I’m working on some new content so be on the lookout👍
I thought you were Chris fix the whole time and I was wondering why your voice sounded different lol
😂😂😂
@@DmDetails but regardless you did a great job! I wish you could get a Miata like this for 1200 now!!
Thanks for watching and commenting, that’s too funny! He’s one of my favorite youtubers so I can see what you mean. Be sure to checkout some of the recent vids!
I have a 96 Mx5 in the works 💪 also what did you cover with a bag inside the engine bay? The intake?
Cool! Yes, the intake and alternator should be covered.
Great job on restoration. What are you using to protect th roof of UV light, especially the area of inside when the roof is down?
Thank you! There’s a special cover that goes covers the top when it’s down. I believe it comes with the car from the factory. This roof was a cloth material instead of a vinyl, so I didn’t end up using any UV blocking products on it.
Very satisfying video to watch. I'm just wondering where the heck you live that has a (not too bad) miata for sale for $1,200!
Was a great deal anywhere, especially here In the states. This was before everyone had their stimmy checks too haha
I got the passenger seat out no problem. The problem is the driver seat doesn’t move very far forward making it very difficult to get the two rear seat bolts loose/removed in that much tighter space. Sid you have similar difficulty, and what did you do/use?
Yes not much space there. Probably try an extension on a regular ratchet
How is this 1200? There is no rust :/
It was barley running (maybe on 3 cylinders), turned out to be because of plugs. Also sea-foam treatment made it run lot better
Also there’s almost no rust on cars here in the PNW 😝
What was that first song you used while cleaning? It fit really well!
Thanks! Not sure on the name, I think the Shazam app would identify it though.
Amazing! Great Job.
Thanks for watching!!
your vacuum works about as well as mine ( that is not very well)
I like how the vacuum performed, it’s quite strong.
Any remaining dirt would need to be extracted with multiple passes.
@@DmDetails I stand corrected. For me I went all the way and gave up on the vaccum and replaced the whole carpet and underlay. It was moldy.
Yikes! That’s a lot harder to deal with for sure
if sparkplugs 2 and 3 are swapped, doesn't it not matter? don't they fire at the same time?
Some people have said it does not matter. I’m not sure but either way putting in new plugs did a lot of good for this sad engine
Good work there kidda
Again a nice result. Top. 👍😎
Thanks for tuning in
Very nice work.
I appreciate the feedback!
Looks good bro!
Thanks! More videos to come
I love the falling camera transition lmao
That was unintentional at first haha
You did a great job
Thanks for watching! Checkout the new WRX detail, just uploaded (:
Muy lindo ...
Excelente Trabajo ...
Lo que no entendi , este trabajo costo U$s 1.200 .- ?
Saludos desde Argentina .-

What air cleaner do you use?
Like air fresheners? Checkout Meguiar's Air Refresher or similar after doing a deep clean.

Wow, 1200 really was a different number just a few years ago.
Where did you buy this from? I’ve had so many issues finding miatas
Craigslist usually does the trick

Great edit - keep up that witty dialogue. The music is good but your dry humor could be what takes your channel to the next level.
😂 thank you
I wish these Miatas are just as cheap here in the Philippines...
This was just a great deal anywhere (:
@@DmDetails the cheapest Miata I can find here costs around Php 450k(NA model) which is around USD 9k when converted.
Wow that’s so crazy! Are they really rare there
Well done!
Glad you enjoyed it 😄
Time improving a Miata is time well spent.
Thats right! Theres two more miata's that I got to improve in my recent vids, check it out if you get a chance
Got yourself another subscriber!
I appreciate it!!
So clean
Thanks!!
Absolutely fantastic.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤.
Thank you! Cheers!
I think you ruined the carpets using hard brushes on drill.
The drill brush I use is pretty soft. The carpet was all but ruined at the start 🤙
Great job
You got a nice deal on that Miata
Agreed! I have another JDM car rebels coming soon
Miatas are crazy priced right now. All the kids playing GTA are in their 20s 30s buying up Grand-pops Miata.
That's true they keep going up in value
Come on guys get him to 500 likes!
Thanks for the hype!
It worked haha!

Good job
Thanks Francesco!
"safe to be around haha"
The thing was a biohazard 😂
@@DmDetails Just picked up my first miata today and im in love man. '94 eunos roadster imported from japan. Even got AC and electric windows...! lol.
Please take off this flags on the front fenders. Other than that - looking great.
$1,200 for a detail? How the eff do you charge that?
math over meth
Beautiful.
love it. But please just dont clean the engine with a pressure washer
Thanks for watching! If an engine needs cleaning, I make sure it gets dried out right after.
i love it
Dang nice job
Thanks for watching!
$1200 still a good price! Now these days you have a moutain bike at this price and not even the best one! After all that job your car is very nice!
Thank you! I heard mountain biking can be very expensive
Very nice 👍
Bro I can't find a Miata for less then $3,000 even in bad condition.....
The markets wild
Living in south flordia so many people are into them so the clean ones sell almost instantly
well done ;
I want a miata sooo bad but in my country miatas go for 10k....
#portugal 😑
That sucks! They’re definitely going up in value in the US too.
Nice job
Thx!! Feel free to checkout the newer miata video too

Great stuff, but i just cant stand watching pressure washer in the engine bay, this just me, i am sure is ok,
Sensitive areas are covered and/or dried with compressed air. Steam cleaning is a safer alternative though
@@DmDetails is it safe to clean the miata engine? I’d like to do this in the future
thats why i wish i live in US.
They have gotten much more expensive here too. Are you in an area where miata’s are very expensive?
@@DmDetails very, australia.
NA is like 14000$
ND cheapest is like 35000$
rip my dream for now.
That was minimum $100 only for the pads thats fucking expensive
You mean the buffing pads? They can be cleaned up afterwards and reused
