    I was listening to this latest video of yours and I said to my wife, "Our boy is on a loop system because of this guy!". She replied that I should tell you that! Thanks to you we have been enjoying looping with the ommnipod for a number of years now and we have been getting constant tech updates from your channel over the years. So please keep it up, you are having a wonderful positive effect on the diabetes community all over the world - we are in Sydney, Australia.

      That’s amazing! Please say hi to her and your boy. Thanks so much for your very generous words. Means so so much to hear a message like this.

      @@Nerdabetic I am currently using penns, and Libre3, but I have been debating, if i should try either Omnipod Dash or Acc One along with Libre3.
      What do you think is the best choice?
      I love having everything on my own phone (Android), but sadly I know non of them allows that.
      They require you to use the PDM.

    Thank you so much for this news! I was at an IDF conference years ago, and I thought it was the coolest kid on the block as far as tubeless pumps goes. Will be interesting to see if it makes entry into Canada. Like you, the waste from our Omnipod system is a a bit of a downer as someone who tries to be Green.

    You mention possible Tidepool Loop integration, but Roche already has a cooperation with Diabeloop, who I think also want to enter the US market. I’m personally on the Insight/Diabeloop system in Switzerland and I absolutely love it.

    • @Nerdabetic
      @Nerdabetic  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, Diabeloop would be an obvious European AID partner as they worked on Insight but I take no news for so many years as bad news. Hopefully soon

      I'm also in Switzerland and also on Diabeloop. What I'm particularly looking for is an open source hybrid loop system so I could fine-tune the algo myself, take into account location and activity and more.
      I'm near Fribourg - you?

    • @Nerdabetic
      @Nerdabetic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I think activity and location is one of the next big frontiers- setting your workout mode when you get to your gym etc. More simplicity is needed.

    It’s huuuge! Just seems very cumbersome. I find it hard to believe someone would choose this over Omnipod. And with the Mobi from Tandem coming that also puts competition out there for this type. With closed loop system I don’t know why the on body bolus would be helpful. Really you shouldn’t need to be bolusing random amounts of insulin if the system is working properly (and I feel like some manufacturers actually limit that for liability with HCL) I don’t have high hopes, but I am happy the US is gaining more competition in pumps!

    Diabeloop's DBLG1 is an option for Roche or CAM APS FX, as well as AAPS with open API on Roche's side. The mySugr App is completely irrelevant from my perspective. At the moment, Sigi is the only patch pump with interesting features. Omnipod is definitely NOT an option for me. My requirements are: a) reusable b) pumpcart c) direct CGM connection and loop algorithm on board d) waterproof or detachable e) USB-C or Qi chargeable. I have no idea why the heck anybody would use a proprietary charger or MicroUSB. Just my 2cents. ;-) Let's hope developement starts to gain speed.

    • @Nerdabetic
      @Nerdabetic  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, Sigi is one to watch for sure! Love the idea of using cartridges in a patch pump. For Solo, open API would make this a very interesting pump for sure! So your dream set up is a combo of Omnipod 5 software on Mobi if it had carts? Interesting

    roche pulled out of the pump market a few years ago in north america so would this they would have to make a come back?

    • @Nerdabetic

      Yes, they would! I would say simply a matter of time but that’s obviously my opinion. No formal comment from company. I learned about FDA clearance from FDAs website.

      @@gw6667 Dr. Bernstein was initially going to be a Physicist but had health issues like Type 1 diabetes from age 11 and Hypothyroidism. The hypothyroidism messed with his memory and study. He remedied these problems later as he reversed his illness but he couldnt become a Physicist at that point. He instead became an engineer, working on how to measure blood glucose. He came up with an early Glucometer.
      Dr. Bernstein is now 87 and practices what he teaches and thats how to best control blood sugar primarily through Diet and as little insulin as possible. Oh and he became a doctor just so he could publish books and be accepted.
      Dr. Berstein has a YT channel. He is the best.
