What about finally getting direct to watch monitoring? Crazy that sensors are tied to clunky phones. I am still using a G6 with a separate receiver and whether it be g7 or libre 3 that finally has this feature gets me to upgrade to their sensor!
I haven’t included that because I gave up on this one lol. I actually heard that Dexcom made some progress on this through my rumour mill but no timelines.

Dexcom just released their new Garmin watch face you can create to see numbers on the home screen. I imagine if they do a direct to watch option it'll be later this year with Garmin first and only for the G7.

My friends mum has type 2 and libre has made an amazing improvement in her care. I think a proper CGM would be even better for her. Happy seeing more cgms and pumps working with each other. I don't have high hopes for Roche sadly tho I want more options for us! Ketones being measured would be AWESOME esp for sick days!
Many exciting things happening ! My hope for 2024 is that companies manage to keep up with demands. I don't know if this is an issue internationally but trying to get Ypsopump infusion sets has been a NIGHTMARE here in Germany.

My 6 year old has just been offered dexcom G6 with ypso cam aps pump, this would be his first pump, hes been on needles since diagnosis 3yrs ago. Is the ypso pump better than needle injections? Any advice would be greatly appreciated 😊

Yeah, I used to have the libre 2+ and the problem that I had when I used to have a smart phone was that it would take forever for the meter to load up against the sensor would take an hour and then when I would try to take my sugar it won’t give me a number plus you can’t wear it to the doctors office if you have an MRI because they have metal in it

While id be happy to dig into any specific app (and i have a software dev and product design background to help), i think it is more the roundup and overview with some recommendations (ideally some insights into roadmaps would be even better). In case i miss the live stream, here are a few questions/ideas that might be worth exploring: - the cockpit app website doesn’t have a valid ssl certificate, what does this say about the security and quality of this new app? How can we make sure our data is safe with all these diabetes apps? - personally, i have lada/1.5 and it means i take metformin (plus some other meds) AND insulin, and i use a cgm (with the requisite occasional finger prick). I have not found any good apps that will track all of that (plus food, sleep, exercise, stress, etc) in a simple/efficient way. For example, the dexcom app won’t track any oral meds or food details beyond card counts. I want to be able to easily correlate different effects like sleep quality/duration and bsl levels, but currently there is no way to do that automatically. It requires a lot of manual effort, and often the apps don’t even make it easy to access your own data for that kind of purpose. Does anyone do this well? - im curious to see more apps like this directly and deeply integrate with apple healthkit/google fit, so that purpose-specific apps can be used but also have cross compatible data sets. Aside from companies trying to own/control/walled garden approach for their apps, which may seem necessary for monetisation, why don’t any of them seem to do this? How do i prevent having my data locked into these systems long term? - what are the opportunities to utilise new AI/ML/LLMs for diabetics? I think a simplified ml prediction model is probably at the heart of the insulin pumps, or sophisticated traditional algorithms, but beyond that how can we better (self)serve diabetics with new tech? - in the face of AI systems, how do we protect our personal information? How do i weigh the (unproven) benefits of the tech with the risks of data privacy or lack of compliance or any lack of acknowledgment/compensation for data contributions? Balance anonymity with personalisation? - how can we better capture/utilise our health data to better inform our various health professionals? How do we get better advice/treatment from our endo and/or better advocates for ourselves with data? - how do we make data capture as frictionless (or automated) as possible? How do we balance the accuracy and comprehensiveness of the data needed to provide robust and accurate insights, versus handling those gaps and intuitively knowing how that affects the accuracy/completeness of insights. For example sometimes im really good about tracking all my food intake, medications, sleep, etc (and i would want/expect a higher quality of insight for that) and other times i miss capturing stuff or just get burned out and don’t track myself much (but still need some help, and maybe that is more mental health support rather than treatment insights) - what are the best apps for different use cases? How well do they interoperate/collaborate with each other?

I am using dexcom g7 and am a side sleeper. This device must be used behind the upper arm an bothers me and hurts and bleeds when I sleep. Can I wear it on my upper belly between bra and panties?
it is sad how slow the rollout and the technology development goes. Basically all the new products are marginal updates to the products that are alredy here for ten years. We still cannot even get a bsic compatability between most popular pumps and sensors.
Yeah I feel you! I think software is where it’s at for next 10 years and customer service. On compatibility, many choose not to work with each other due to their business conflicts. What hardware changes would you like to see over the next 10 years?
I would like to see GCM and Pump in one device or in one pod ideally. I would also prefer to control all functions from my phone, that Omnipod DASH PDM is terrible (and Omnipod 5 does not support Dexcom 7 or Libre 3). Also those frequent signall losses when you 5 meters away or in crowded places, cannot believe that there is no better and more stable technology for devices communication. When you say Dexcom One with limited software capabilities, I think ah how!? alarm settings are so limited and to see your statistical data you need another app and another app to synchronize the data with your doctor :). Same with Freestyle Libre, I had to change to Juggluco because Abbot can not develop a fully functional app.
Looking forward to Omnipod 5 being compatible with iPhone. I'm probably not as annoyed by it as some, as for years I carried a cheap cell phone and IPod Touch (two devices), and prior to getting my Tandem and switching to iPhone, I had the Dexcom receiver as well- three devices. So, yeah, a bit annoying that it's still not compatible, but not a bother to me.
@@NerdabeticInsulet has announced the iOS version for the Omnipod 5 has been approved by the FDA. A few sources have said it would be released after the first of the year. It’s now February and Insulet has been awfully quiet. I really like my Omnipod 5 but really upset with no iOS support.

I have gave up on this one to be fair. They working on it but I am finding it to be very slow. I think this is one of the disadvantages of using 3rd party distributors in Europe and not providing t:slim direct to consumer- seems to slow things down significantly.
I've been on my Tandem pump for over 3 years. I have had a couple of occlusion alarms. Each time I acknowledge the alarm (press OK) which clears the alarm. Check that the tubing is not pinched, which I cannot say I have found that being the case, and manually infuse like .05-.08 units to see if the error occurs again. Seems okay after that. If it happened again I'd change the infusion set or do a complete reservoir/infusion set change if close to normal change time.
Thanks for the video. I would just like an affordable cgm. All the pills in the world don't help me control my sugar levels (t2). Only time I have success is when I have enough spare cash to buy a couple of libre sensors. I'm target driven and need that almost constant feedback to guide my diet.
@Nerdabetic yes. They won't issue it on prescription as t2. Wouldn't mind self funding but at close to £100 a month I can't afford it regularly. I buy to try and calibrate my diet every now and then.
I see. CGM funding for t2s is tricky in the UK. I believe all should have the option to have CGMs. Diet is most definitely helpful. My small suggestion might be to see if you can be referred to a diabetes clinic as they might be able to provide you with a CGM if there is a medical need.
Frustrating how long G7 integration with pumps (specifically OmniPod 5) is taking. Would be so nice to stop being shackeled to an outdated product for compatibility reasons.

Not at this stage. They have been quiet recently . In terms of pumps, they announced iLet with Beta Bionics. DIY would be with AndroidAPS right?

Yes CGMs need to be more accessible. Dexcom One and Freestyle Libre 2 are available in the UK on GPs prescription. Are you UK based?

Frustrating how long G7 integration with pumps (specifically OmniPod 5) is taking. Would be so nice to stop being shackeled to an outdated product for compatibility reasons.
