  • Today we visited The Horsepower Factory in Henderson, TN with my 2021 Ford Mustang Mach 1 with the First Ever installed ESS G3 Supercharger system and made record power on the Dyno. Honestly we had no idea it would gain so much!

    Awesome man, great power. My G2 got me 720whp with similar setup. Running the G3 now at 14lbs of boost, Fore innovations fuel system, 95lb injectors, 105mm pulley and tuned on E85. Car on the dyno made 870WHP. These kits are amazing

      @@matt7sixty not necessarily maxed out, it could have reached 800 hp but didn't want to put that much strain on the blower. I knew I wanted an 800 hp car so the obvious choice was to upgrade to the G3 and fuel system.

      @@Sabotfit5oh Gotcha how small of pulley did you do on the G2? Also I have cams and dumps so idk if that’s more reason to go G3 or that it would make like 850 on the G2 lol?

    I’m personally a S197 Fan..as I have on my channel😁(shameless plug)but do love the specialty S550s..GT350..GT500 and definitely the Mach 1..but I’ll be afraid to drive that Mach 1 with that handling package front chin splitter.. it would be nerve-racking just to drive over speed bumps..any issues with that???

      @@durkester no doubt it looks awesome..but again..be paranoid about driving it..my 2014 Mustang GT Track Pack is lowered..put a MMD chin spoiler on here..two hours later it was destroyed..as well as pulling off half my bumper😑

      He shouldn’t. My 350R sits lower and I’ve yet to scrub a speed bump. Speed humps on the other hand, I have to go at them at an angle

    Well crap , I wasn't looking at this type of supercharger because I thought it was more of a turbo power delivery. This look better than some screw type torque curves.

    hell we just picked up a 2021 10 speed. we put the roush 2.65 750 kit. did 692 rwhp, 615 try. I was astonished. I never thought it would make that power on a stock gt. now we have the throttle max from AM and it helped out alot. on a cold day in Houston we will do 700 plus.

      FYI They rate those pullies wrong at ESS. They make more boost than they rate them for. It’s making more than 7.5 lbs of boost. Regardless the ESS kit is a really good kit.

    My guess on Facebook was 696. I was fairly close. I'm hoping for 600 out of my car but now I'm thinking I'll be a hair over. G2 kit with g3 intercooler, 125mm pulley and lth on 91 octane.

    Right on Alex, do you know off the data logs what air load was at?
    Any Boostane or Octanium, octane booster?
    Look forward to the next video of you driving it. I woukd really let it be known this kit has no false knock on the shift, if that's true I believe that would be a big selling feature over other centrifugal superchargers. But Darrel might have the knock sensors desensitized?!

    Nice work gentlemen! Beautiful car! Ford did a very functional and tastful job on the Mach1. Kinda wish I wouldn't have seen this though ha ha. I've been looking for an excuse to get another V8 car. Been driving a stock 19 STI for a couple years, great car but it will never sound like a V8 not to mention the brutal #'s you threw down.     I love the car man but I’m not trying to be a prick but there is no way I’m going to believe that you are getting 735 hp off of 7 1/2 pounds of boost. That is not possible and why isn’t the dinos showing how much of boost you’re putting out. The limit on these engines with pump gas is around 650 hp and if you’re putting out more than that either you’re using too small of a pulley and the Dyno is absolutely rigged To put out false numbers. There’s no way that I’m going to believe that so that means you’re going to trap around 130 mph in a quarter mile. That’s just not possible unless Ford magically gave you a magical mach 1. But running off pump gas there is no way I don’t care watch your tuner says and I would totally stay away from him because you are going to blow that engine and I guarantee you that. I’m not trying to put your car down I’m just trying to tell you to beware of the shops claiming false numbers which I have seen in the past. You can fool all these other people on your channel but you cannot fool me. And oil pump gears are not going to save your engine. I have never put oil pump gears in any of my cars and have never blown up one single car because of an oiling issue. The only reason why you need oil pump gears is either you’re banging off the Revlimiter or there’s bad harmonics in your crankshaft. You do not need oil pump gears just cause you have more power. Your GEN three that you blew the motor on that had a turbo did not prevent that car from blowing up Unless you’re rebuilding an engine there is no need for an oil pump gear. Now if you had an automatic I could see putting an oil pump gear just for safety but not in a manual transmission car. I know mustangs and I probably know a lot more than those people who dynoed your car Because if you have the set up that you say that you have that Dyno putting out false numbers you need to look at the Dyno chart putting out actual boost I know of cars putting out 10 pounds of boost which is the safe zone and are still not putting out that much horsepower. The rule is on these coyotes is 10 pounds of boost and around 650 wheel horsepower Is the safe zone on pump gas. The last thing I want to see you do is blow your engine in that beautiful car. I’m not talking shit I’m trying to help you out

      Well I’m not trying to be a prick either but you are dead wrong on several things you said and have no idea how any of this works to include a dyno. Firstly. We did not measure for boost on the dyno as most of them don’t. What was measured was a MAF reading of 84 pounds per minute of air. That’s higher than some whipple stage 2 kits. Secondly, I have no idea where you are getting 650 as the cap for safe on 93 pump gas. 100% of the internet and aftermarket tuners would disagree with you on that. Feel free to call some. 93 octane produces much better than 650. The new Shelby GT500 puts down more than 650 on 93 lol. Thirdly, if you are still reading, it helps to watch the entire video bc we explicitly explained 120mm pulley is rated for 7.5 at 7200 rpm. We were reving past that so it creates another pound of boost. Very common knowledge with centrifugal blowers. Also you are absolutely wrong on your theory of oil pump gears. Manual cars need them more than auto. And these cars are known to even break them at stock power levels. Call HPR and verify. ONCE AGAIN very common knowledge. Yea I lost a motor in my red car bc I was told to go WOT on a tune that was not finalized. That’s one reason I switched tuners. The next time you call someone a liar, get your facts straight please. Or, send me a private email and we can discuss any issues or concerns. But when you comment in front of thousands of viewers, make sure you actually know what you are talking about bc literally everything you said was completely wrong. Again, I’m not trying to be a prick, I’m just trying to help you out, same thing that you said to me… have a blessed day

      @@Zander13Productions well for one the GT 500 has a 9.5:1 compression ratio and is a whole different motor than a coyote engine is, I did not say that every single engine made by ford is capped out at 650 hp on pump gas But on a coyote 10 psi of boost is where the maximum boost should be on pump gas and anything higher your risk blowing up your engine. Somewhere around 650hp and I said around is what 10 psi of boost will generally put out but I guarantee you are going to blow up your motor just like you blew every other motor and every one of your cars. you should not be messing with blowers and coyote engines because you have no idea what you’re talking about you do not need oil pump gears because oil pump gears will explode just like regular oil pump gears will. I don’t care what your mass airflow readings are the bottom line is you should not be messing with power adders and vehicles because you have no idea what you’re doing and you listen to the wrong people. You’re the last person that I would ever take advice from with a coyote engine. But I guarantee you are not putting 735 hp at 7 1/2 pounds of boost that is absolutely impossible and like I said people will manipulate Dynos To throw off false readings. The only way I can see you putting out that much horsepower is if you’re using a smaller pulley that’s rated for more than 10 pounds of boost which you are at risk for blowing up your engine and an oil pump gear is not going to save your engine. I know people who are making 800 wheel horsepower and Have never put an oil pump gear in their car and it’s absolutely fine and they had it for years and they totally beat the shit out of it. The only reason why you would need an oil pump gear is if you’re banging on the Revlimiter or if you have bad harmonics in your crankshaft and I will stand by that 100% I just don’t want all of your followers thinking that you’re the shit when you have no idea what you’re talking about and yes the GT500 does have variable cam timing but it also has a lower compression ratio therefore you can put more boost on that thing and pump gas which is going to make more power that is why they made the compression so low on those engines so it would not blow up making 760 hp I will absolutely stand by what I said and I have never blown an engine in my life I’ve owned seven mustangs never put oil pump gears. Oil pump gears are a marketing scheme now if you are rebuilding an engine I can see putting oil pump gears in there just because you already have your engine apart but I guarantee within six months you will post a video on how you blew up your engine in that brand new beautiful car. Or that you have destroyed that piece of crap tremec GT 350 transmission in your car. Those transmissions in the GT350 Are garbage. The MT82 is a better transmission and will definitely hold more power. You picked the wrong car to try to build. I think you’re the only person on this earth to destroy the oil pump gears inside of a Camaro ZL1 as well. Now you can make your rebuttal but I guarantee you are going to blow up that beautiful car just like you did on every single car you’ve ever messed with. You are not the guy to be adding a power adder to any kind of car. You just have no idea how to safely make an engine last with a power adder. And I have talked to other tuners about your current Mach 1 situation and I’m not going to name any names whatsoever because I don’t want to get them involved but according to them you are full of shit. And I’m talking about well known tuners with years and years of experience

      I’m not here to argue but please read what I have to say. First, if you watch my videos or have talked to me in person, you have heard me say that I don’t put much stock in dyno numbers. I care more about trap speed. Even when I was talking I said that main thing is the difference in the first time it went on the dyno vs what it made with the supercharger. As we used the same dyno and could see what the car picked up with supercharger and tuning. We use this dyno for tuning in a safe controlled environment with cars that come through the shop, I’m not one for taking a customers car 100+ mph on the street. So talking about this dyno My green gen2 car with a gen5 whipple put down 685 on 93 on this same dyno and ran mid 10’s@133mph. These are facts that you can go and watch on my channel. You can’t make up a trap speed at the drag strip on film when they hand you the slip and you look at it with a helmet cam. That was on 11psi on the whipple with full interior on a premium car. Now my 20 with twin turbos on 93 on a tad over 7psi ran 135mph in 93 and Again on film and on my channel. I don’t believe in fluffing numbers and hate it because it does no one any good. Also Wengerd has been tuning me since 2018 on several setups and I’ve never hurt any of my engines and they all ran great. He is even listed as the preferred tuner on the ESS site. Everyone knows 700-730 is a stopping point on 93 in the gen3’s then it’s time for E85. I told zander I’d probably put a fuel system on the car and would not do anything to raise the power without it. I trust the tuners and Lund has tuned a few of the vehicles that have came through my shop and they have never had any issues with our builds when tuning them. Also if you have to say I know more than another guy when trying to prove a point that tells me a lot. I’m not trying to be a prick, anyone that knows me knows I’m a down to earth person and don’t care for drama. I have not had any of my customers hurt their engine. If the tuner looks at the log and says it’s safe, I trust that. Again, I’m not here to argue but when you claim stuff on cars that come out of my shop I will come state my case. You can talk to any of my customers and they are all loving their cars and I have several of them that call me to talk about how good it did at the dragstrip etc etc. I have worked on cars since I was very young and had a very good career being a technician. I decided to open my own shop after seeing some of the horrors that have came out of some shops and having alot of people asking me to after watching what I did with my cars. I have fixed countless issues that have come out of other shops and customers have all been pleased. I get calls from other shops because of my background in diagnoses as a tech for issues that they have from time to time. One of these shops that a big name tuner on here have gave shout outs to and they call me from time to time. I even have one of their headaches at my shop because they trust me. So if that doesn’t say something about my knowledge and ability I don’t know what does. Have a great day!

    Wow bro that’s awesome! Super clean set up, now you got me into really supercharging my GT350, that ESS supercharger steered me away from the procharger, If I do supercharge my GT350 I want to do the exact same set up you did! I liked what Ken said on the previous video about this kit using the OEM pulley unlike the others, less stress on the crank, smart design 🙌🏽

    I'm looking at the G2 kit for my 2018. I'm not going for crazy power so the 125mm pulley and LU47 injectors on 93 is what I would do. I've seen that I don't need a upgraded fuel pump, but what about a BAP? I can't seem to figure out if is needed or not.

    What’s nice about this power level is you’re still under the max torque input for the 10r80. The specs for it are 800 N-m nominal max input torque capacity which translates to about 590 ft-lbs. That first pill showed 521 ft-lbs

    Been a while . I did watch a few of you craparo (lol) video but lost complete interstest.
    Nice to see you back with a mustang.
    Never new about these supercharger. Very similar to the old Vortec and Paxton . Obviously way more efficient .
    Looking forward to learning more about these.
    Possible choice for my future fox yote swap . Lol

    Switch the fuel pump to the 400 you have. You’re gonna burn out your stock fuel pump. Not worth the headache. Just put in the DW400 right away.

    7700rpm is more like 10lbs. ESS rates their pulley's on a Gen2 at 7300rpm The faster the engine spins the more boost it will make. The g3 head unit makes a little more boost than the g2 at the same pulley size. I run the g2 on a 2019 a10 with a 115mm pulley.

      Yes 100%. Definitely a bit more than 7.5 psi. Got the boost gauge installed and am seeing 9 psi on the street

    How's he getting 881 Crank? 735 at the wheels, with 10% drive-train loss is about 808HP. If you want to get stupid crazy and say you're getting 15% loss it's still 845HP. Regardless, how frikin amazing are these results!!! NICE! 🏁🏁🏁🏁

      Old rule of thumb (15-20% loss for a manual), 735 x 1.2 = 882. Don't agree with this, as not accurate

    Are you going to keep running it at 7700rpm or lower? Do you think it would have been the same with MT82?

      Yes. I have oil pump gears so I’m safe around 7700. MT 82 should do the same

    On my G3 I am also running the 120 mm pulley and on my p3 gauge I saw 8.7 psi last night on a pull so the 7.5 psi rating is off by about 1 psi.

      Agreed. It’s rated at 7.5 at like 7200 rpm. But with more RPM the psi goes up

    Very good numbers on low boost! Im at similar numbers with the procharger. I should have sprung for the injectors and 415LPH. If anyone tears it apart they just dont know what these cars do with a little bit of boost. Very nice sir.
