    =========
    Wim Hof (also known as “The Iceman”), is a Dutch extreme athlete noted for his ability to withstand freezing temperatures.
    On 16 March 2000, Hof set the Guinness World Record for the farthest swim under ice, with a distance of 57.5 meters (188.6 ft).
    On 26 January 2007, Hof set a World Record for fastest half marathon barefoot on ice and snow, with a time of 2 hours, 16 minutes, and 34 seconds. In the same year, he climbed to an altitude of 7,200 meters (23,600 ft) on Mount Everest wearing nothing but shorts and shoes.
    Hof has set the World Record for the longest time in direct, full-body contact with ice a total of 16 times, including 1 hour, 42 minutes, and 22 seconds on 23 January 2009; 1 hour, 44 minutes in January 2010; and 1 hour 53 minutes and 2 seconds in 2013.
    He attributes these feats to his Wim Hof Method (WHM), a combination of frequent cold exposure, breathing techniques, yoga, and meditation. WHM has similarities to Pranayama yogic practice and with Tibetan Tummo - literally meaning “inner fire” - meditation technique (used to enter a deep state of meditation that is used to increase a person's 'inner heat').
    Before practicing the WHM breathing exercises, please watch this Safety Video first: • Wim Hof Method | Safet...

    The semantron is an ancient percussion instrument of Egyptian and Levantine origin. Its sound induces a trance-like state and is mostly used in the Eastern Orthodox monasteries to summon the monastics to prayer or at the start of a procession.

    I don't normally comment on videos but after reading many here I felt the desire to.
    I love the drumming.
    I have followed many Wim Hof videos on TH-cam and this is my favorite. I do not agree with the people who say that the drumming ruins the experience at all, though I respect that this particular practice is not for them.
    For me, the drumming matches the speed of my everyday mind and in doing so, creates a resonance with it, much like a tuning fork can bring other tuning forks into harmony. In doing so, the mind is neutralised and completely removed from the practice allowing me to go deeper into silence and the breath retention.
    Thank you to the video creator for putting together these two modalities and to those who left negative comments about the video, sparking my desire to share gratitude and appreciation.
    May all those reading be happy, healthy and free.

    I have to say I loved the drumming. It felt like it tapped into my third eye more, it was amazing. I wish the breath hold was longer as I paused the video, but then I couldn't hear the drumming. Would love to try that one with longer breath holds

      The background sound is from an ancient percussion instrument of Egyptian origin. It both predates and substitutes for bells, and became popular on Mount Athos (Greece), being used today in many monasteries and churches to summon the monastics to prayer or at the start of a procession.
      According to the monks, the sound is a means of exalting man to God, making the transition from everyday time to liturgical time (the connection between earth and sky, between human and divine, or between what is known and what is not known). Some authors say that sound changes a person’s state of consciousness, putting him in a state of trance. Truth be told, it works for me. I used to listen to it on headphones repeatedly, and I was having the best ideas. A friend of mine asked me to combine Wim Hoff's method with the "ancient trance music", and that’s how this video came out.

    Wow during the last one i had a clear visual of swimming in a lake and during the breath hold i just sunk down and down and down into a crystal cavern and chilled there and paused the video til i needed to breathe. The drummer nailed it.
