    My favourite quirk with the visor is from Metroid Prime 2. There's an enemy in the futuristic area that can cripple your visuals with an energy blast, and you have to reboot your suit by holding certain four buttons down.

    • @Tucher97

      @@AggressivelyLoving And the Chozo are very prophetic, because if you read a few chozo lore entries, you learn that the Chozo had a prophecy of Samus coming to the planet and fixing it up.
      And in teh trilogy version of prime 3, it is said some Chozo went back to re-habit Talon 4.
      And I believe in some Metroid lore tidbit, the Chozos have very long life spans so Samus to them is still young. And in some way also means Samus is a hybrid or infused with Chozo genetics, there is a chance she lives a lot longer than others.

    The scans from number 95 don't reference the Metroid Prime.
    They reference Samus.
    The chozo refer to Samus as "The newborn." because they themselves are really old to the point most of their species became infertile.
    They can grow thousands of years old and the fact they relied so much on technology made their lives so comfortable to the point they didn't have to raise a new generation of chozo that would do things like, hunt for food, work the fields or build new infrastructure.
    So the fact Samus is raised as one of them but she's a teenage/young adult made her a "newborn" by comparison.

    From what I know, the final boss is called Metroid Prime because it used to be a Metroid once - or still is. For those who have played Metroid 2 know that Metroids evolve and don't look like squishy jellyfishes with big teeth all the time. So I guess the Metroid originally got in contact with Phazon and then evolved even beyond a Metroid queen, which used to be the final evolutionary step of Metroids, at least according to Metroid 2. But I'm not sure if that's official lore or just something I heard once.

    • @mitchellbrown4454
      @mitchellbrown4454 11 หลายเดือนก่อน +14

      I personally think that the Metroid evolutions we see in the Prime trilogy are only caused by Phazon.
      In other games like Samus Returns, Other M and Fusion, Metroids follow the same evolution, going as far as the Omega Metroid and the Queen Metroid. These are results of Aeion, a substance found on SR388, which is considered the Metroid Homeworld by the Federation. We even see in Fusion how Sector-1 of the B.S.L is based on SR388.
      The Prime Trilogy follows a different evolution, with more metroids remaining in their larval form (Tallon Metroids, Phazon Metroids, Fission Metroid) but still can evolve further with increased exposure to Phazon, giving us Hunter Metroids, Metroid Hatchers and the extreme case of Metroid Prime and eventually Dark Samus (thanks to the Phazon suit)

    • @enforcerridley158
      @enforcerridley158 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Except there are Metroid Prime husks on Phaaze in _Metroid Prime 3 Corruption._ It's unknown how they got there. It may be a possibility that they didn't come from the Metroids of SR388. Perhaps Metroid Primes and SR388 Metroids are from the same based lifeform the Thoha used to create the SR388 Metroids.

    • @triggeredcat120
      @triggeredcat120 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I think from the lineage of baby Metroid to Metroid Queen, the Primes are extremely mutated Phazon charged Metroids.

    The original Metroid Prime is also insanely detailed. I still remember how blown away I was when I played it for the first time. Then many years later I played and enjoyed Wii prime 3. Then the trilogy released and I was reblown away by prime 1 and I was astounded at the shear scale and amount of content in prime 2. The switch remaster of prime 1 is indeed a masterpiece...but let's all never forget that it's almost identical to the original in gameplay and even the visuals aren't as different as you might think. The effects are WAY better and much better rez textures and much more polygons but the original was some of the greatest visuals ever seen at the time. I consider prime 1 ,2 and 3 to be some of the best games ever made, and among the best games on their consoles. I LOVE seeing new players finally experience something that we old gamers new for so long. Can't wait for prime 2 and 3 remasters and of course Prime 4!.
    Also I want to say how disappointed I was that we got" Metroid Prime Federation Force" on 3ds instead of a 3ds remaster of the EXCELLENT DS game "Metroid prime: Hunters". Now I don't completely hate Federation Force but it's not a game to be the lone representative of Metroid prime on a console as capable as the 3ds was. Thank Ridley we got that excellent sidesscroller Metroid later on, but 3ds deserved a Prime Hunters remake. Let's hope that Nintendo realizes what could be done with today's technology and give us a Prime Hunters remaster/remake

      You're absolutely right! Most of these details were present in the OG Metroid Prime. Of course the remaster looks better, but the Game Cube version was mindblowing back when it came out. I'm really glad we can play it on modern hardware and I'm hoping Prime 2 and 3 get the same treatment before the end of this generation, though.

    • @jasonjones7461
      @jasonjones7461 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@felixorozco4055 absolutely yes. Even though it was seriously a technical marvel that it existed at all in a form that so closely replicated the look and feel of Metroid prime, but...at the same time you are also correct in that it was severely limited by the hardware. While there were more beam weapons for Samus than any other prime game, and they were really fun to use, it was impossible to ignore that there weren't really ANY other abilities or equipment to find. Plus the locations were all REALLY small for Metroid Prime exploration. Pretty sure you could fit EVERY prime Hunters maps inside of the Sanctuary fortress map from "prime 2" lol. This was due to the hardware limitations.
      But that ONE last trick it had that made it kick so much ass was the functionality of its online and local multiplayer. Playing as the other hunters was SO cool. Even though the servers are long gone, you can still do local or even play VS bots by yourself and their AI is really impressive and fun to fight against.
      Would've been perfect for a 3ds remake. It could've had the scale and depth that it deserved on 3ds. Esp if it was made with "NEW" 3ds model in mind. It would've been like 3ds Hyrule legends warriors or "Captain toad treasure tracker" in that it plays on all models but is improved of played on a "NEW" model.

    The mirror, oddly enough, is my favorite object in the entire game.
    Alas, a scientific error with the thermal visor exists. Having played with my new thermal camera this week, I found that Metroid's fish should not show up in the water (rather hot fish in game apparently), the visor shouldn't be able to see through, much less within the water.
    In regards to space pirate zen fishtanks, there is a memo to pirate forces to terminate their because of the potential risk of phazon madness. Yeah, space pirates have their own cats and dogs on the Orpheon. :/ My assumption is that the bio-locked doors we see in the ship and mines may be their barracks, kitchens, and recreational facilities.
    Also in the logs, the space pirates get Leave. Though, where they go, or what they do on leave is unknown. Probably hunt or count loot :P

    08:50 That isn't supposed to be a mirror. The ice is supposed to refract the things you see behind it, and the way it does this is by taking the currently rendered frame (also called a Grab Pass) and moving the pixels behind the ice according to some kind of refraction texture. The only issue is, it also does this to everything rendered in front of it, so you can see things like Samus' cannon or the morph ball when you move in front of it. Notice that they dont get mirrored, but stay in exactly the same orientation. This happens a lot in games, like in Super Mario Odyssey with the water in Steam Gardens.

      The lore was changed after the NTSC version. The Metroid Prime is a Metroid. It probably got into the crater by mutating into a Phazon Metroid and phasing through the Barrier. It didn’t come with the meteor, the leviathan did.
      A leviathan chooses and mutates a creature to become its guardian. So it chose that Phazon Metroid to become its Guardian. That Metroid Prime would later consume the leviathan itself and become the core is what happened
      Phazon Metroids mutate into Hopper Metroids, then into Hatchling Metroids and Finally into Metroid Primes. Their life cycle was shown in Prime 3
      Like Aeion triggerd their Alpha, Gamma, Zeta and Omega metamorphosis
      Phazon triggerd the Phazon Metroid Metamorphosis

    I thought #95 was talking about Samus? Words like hatchling and newborn feel like they would apply to how the Chozo viewed Samus, and then also - the sentence structure doesn’t make sense for them to be referring to the Metroid Prime. It says that after the plants wilt, then the Newborn will descend. The plants don’t wilt until the impact crater lands, so it doesn’t make sense for the “newborn” to be the Metroid Prime.

    -The different cannons change the cannon in different ways. The power beam is the default cannon, the wave beam expands outward, the ice beam expands upward and the plasma beam elongates the cannon. Also, the plasma beam's configuration looks like radiator fins. (This carries into Prime 2 with the dark beam having the ice beam configuration, the light beam having the wave beam configuration and the annihilator beam having the plasma beam configuration).
    -When you hold a charge, you can see different effects on the cannon based on what the beam does. The wave beam has a lot of electrical arcing, the ice beam freezes over and thr plasma beam glows with heat, with the outer edge of the helmet glowing from the heat.

    You can see in MP3 how Metroids evolve when exposed to Phazon, slowly resembling smaller version of Metroid Prime until you literally find discarded shells of actuarial Metroid Primes in Phaaze.

    The original game already had many cool details and aged so well. I was blown away back then, and Remastered did a masterclass again.
    By the way, it didn't really make sense to see the Impact crater from space, it's not that big 😅

    There are two reasons, why Metroid Prime is called a Metroid.
    First, in an earlier state of development the lore of Metroid Prime was, that it was a Tallon Metroid, that phased into the meteor crater and absorbed massiv amounts of phason.
    Second, in the chozo language Metroid means ultimate hunter. And the creature is called Metroid Prime, because it is the apex predator of Tallon IV

      Scans indicate that even the local fauna that Samus takes out easily even early game give them lots of trouble, and their operations are mostly colossal failures, so much so that their plans on Tallon IV would have resulted in their complete destruction even without Samus' intervention. The Space Pirates in Prime are greedy, narcissistic, overconfident, cowardly, and pathetic, yet oddly overtly optimistic in spite of overwhelming failures with very little successes. They couldn't even find Samus' Gunship despite her landing so close to the Frigate crash site.

    There's one thing you didn't necessarily miss, but instead got wrong. In number 31, you mentioned a planet called Dormine II. It's actually *Oormine II* with two o's. Hard to tell if it's an O or a D, right? I may or may not have made the same mistake in my first playthrough, but that was probably because the screen I played it on was a bit far from me. Much easier to see it up close (or if you, y'know, look it up).

    The impact crater is older than the MP3's leviathans. So of course the radiation is stronger since it had more time to decay. Metroid Prime 3's only had a couple of months time while Metroid Prime's had hundreds of years. Red phazon is just a more decayed phazon.
