Had the pleasure of meeting Mr Marriott a couple of times in the 80's. The man was phenomenal, sharing a joint or 2 with the dude was almost like a religious experience, man could he toke, NICE!!!. He was so stoned (Stoned as a Turk, as the song goes) and the most soulful Englishman ever to have graced the world stage.
This is the best film of "Walk On Gilded Splinters" I like it because so many people who commented didn't even bother to watch the whole video. Thanks for a great video of "Shaky Jake" and "Walk On Gilded Splinters".
Haven't. seen this one b4 but am glad I have now digging on it . it sounds like just when they started going in more of a heavy rock blues sound. it's shaky Jake and goes n2 gilded splinters. a Dr. John song great video keep em coming videos . 🎸 rock on👏🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Peter Frampton and Steve Marriot.....They were Humble Pie and they were Historic Rock n Rollers.....Marriot did not make it and Frampton became a God known around the Globe.....As far as Rock Bands go Humble Pie was the real deal.....
Steve Marriott was too far ahead of the curve and thus never fully crested it unless he did at Itchycoo. From Small Faces to Humble Pie he seemed to lead the way for what was to come.
Shakey Jake and Splinters LOVE IT Humble Pie were the most exciting Live Band around at the time, something Great Britain should be proud of. Apart from Natural Born Boogie when or what was the last HUMBLE PIE song You heard played on Radio?
30 days in the hole and black coffee, but I live in Australia where we don't just play music from the USA. There are also several Marriott songs on each of the GTA game soundtracks, granted they are not just songs he recorded with The Pie though, they include small faces and solo Steve songs
How are you going to say Humble Pie and then somehow give Frampton top billing Steve Marriott is only the greatest front man in rock history Frampton while no doubt accomplished was just a guitar player that happened to support Marriott for a while in the band
Little Peter Frampton... Adorable
A band before my time but diggin on them now. I love the way the English interpret the American Blues

That's awesome. In my not so humble opinion Steve Marriott is the greatest front man to ever take the stage
A fucking legend, cheers to Mr. Marriott!
👍👍
Steve Mariot was a musical genius.......amazing.
Ahead of his time always.
Gilded Splinters is the Pie's trademark song, absolute perfection!
Cute. Especially Peter Frampton my greatest Love ever! 💔💙🧡💚
Steve with the cutie pie Peter Frampton. They were so good together.
Absolute musical perfection.
Need to watch past 3 min to see the real show. Amazing band, Frampton has said he regrets leaving the band.
Stevie Marriott best singer in the fucking history of the world... thanks
Just don't go down Copper Head Road
Steve was the best white soul singer, ever!
....Robbie Krieger and the boys would have loved that musical break...break on through to the other side! Humble Pie are sorely missed.
That's when & where I met Peter.
Before the performance we sat on the fence in front of the stage. 💜
My favorite bands are humble pie and Led zeppelin ...rock on 👍
You got class , in SPADES mate

@@monatoney3474 if you continue watching they segue into Gilded Splinters.
Fantastic performance. Steve looks a little blitzed LOL.

There's an incredible live American TV performance of Rolling Stone here on TH-cam if you haven't seen it I highly recommend it
I think this song gave Peter Frampton the opportunity to show what he came for.
You rip my heart out my brother.... gives me strength... thanks
Killing . it .., Love you Man
One of my faves !
Wow what a Beautiful Surprise !!! Gravy Gravy Gravy !!
Steve Marriott put 100% in every note
Steve Marriott r.i.p 🎵🎼🎶🎤🎸🙏👊
I have humble pie albums from back in the day. I never knew Peter Frampton was one of the band members
He founded the group even though the popular story is that it was Steve Marriot
John Peel played very well to this GREAT guys! in his Sunday BBC Radio Show Live !
Masterpiece! !
This is da bomb. Blues baby.
Love you guys..no matter what they say

BEST BAND EVER, YES , ZEP, WHO, STONRS ,INCLUDED.
From Nevada... Hawaii.., everything in between...
this is Shaky Jake...not guilded splinters --love the band, Marriott was incredible; they should have been huge
but they do play part of 'I walk on gilded splinters' after Shaky Jake in this clip
They were huge, but as huge they deserved to be! 🎸🎸🎸
I think it's The Sad Bag of Shaky Jake
Frampton looks like he's 16 years old
3:16
Frampton! Fresh out of The Herd! And playing a ...Gretsch?
Those old Gretsch's were great...new ones are even better.
@@markschmidt908 I don't know about the new ones, but yes... the old ones were very good!
i love trampoline ... just talking to the big guy....all good
Shaky Jake and Walk on Guilded Splinters are here Some of you missed the last part of the song.
🎶Steve Marriott 🎶
Steve Marriot= GOAT
Humble Pie at its raw Blues power. But when Frampton left in 73 and Clem Clemson came into the band they became a much heavier band .
Good question brother.... radio stations don't have much taste, apparently!!!

Black Coffee , absolutely donkeys years ago.
incorrect title... it should be Sad Bag Of Shaky Jake
3:16
Isn't this the real deal!
Mash up- but brilliant blues
Ils ont deux de tension
The sad bag son, of shaky jake
3:16
I see it as weird thay Peters roots were in country,.. whatever...
I know him
GRATEFUL DEAD should PAY all of their profits as royalities to the remaining members of HUMBLE PIE~!!
It was written by Mac Rebinak AKA Dr. John.
"Sad Song of Shakey Jake", not "Walk on Gilded Splinters'

Awesome song, wrong title!
