@Type-C Tech Reviews Thank you very much for your videos which helped me to choose the ASUS VG34VQL1B model. I had a setup of 2 screens (DELL - IPS) and I absolutely do not regret having bought the ASUS. Of course, there is some ghosting, but it's a small inconvenience considering the visual comfort I have now. Thanks again and merry Christmas. Sunshine on you.

6:22 white text on a black background is actually a good scenario for ghosting. Usually, monitors have no issues going from dark to bright. It's going from dark to dim that's the issue. Gray text on a black background is where you'll see issues. Good review overall though, but just thought I'd point out this issue. This video is one year old, so perhaps you already have changed your testing methodology and what to look out for.
I was looking for a 34 inch monitor recently and settled on Gigabyte mainly because one the other brands (Sansung) had a common problem where the button retaining the stand would break and apparently if you RMAed it they only send a used replacement. On the other brand the stand was extremely flimsy and had almost no tilt adjustment.
Thanks a ton for this! Awesome video. As of now, I'm going to go with the Dell. But, by any chance, have you used the Monoprice Dark Matter 34"? There aren't a ton of reviews out there for it, but I don't think I can go wrong if I go with the dell.
Thank you for this video. I was on the fence about which one was the best. The DELL is medium price of the three, and seems like the best choice for me
Thanks for your videos! Just bought the Dell S3422DWG via your Amazon-Link. I'm looking forward to this monitor. I also got the Dell S3220DGF, which actually doesn't work well with AMD FreeSync together with my AMD RX 7800 XT. Hopefully the Dell S3422DWG works much better. :)

Normaly u wont see screan tearing if u use adaptive or v sync on. Every monitor have screan tearing if u not use some kind of frame sync. I've used both a 3060TI (nvidia) and now a 7900 XTX with the Dell S3422DWG, can't get rid of the flickering issue with Freesync but other's say they have? Some say stay above 70fps, which doesn't make a difference and changing the freesync range to 30-126 did, and then didn't. Doesn't make sense to me.
@@kennY_72 I haven't a clue to be honest. I don't really notice the flickering now and it's often subtle or momentary. When I was testing it with the 3060TI it was in Baldur's Gate 3 which has a UI bug that causes large FPS swings so the display was bound to flicker but in games like Dead Space (remake), Cyberpunk 2077 it's often subtle or momentary that I don't even notice it 99% of the time. As I'm using the 7900XTX now, my 9700k CPU is bottlenecking it and causing its own stuttering so I don't have a relatively stable framerate to reliably say "yes, flickering goes away with stable FPS". The monitor really is great though. Coming from an AW3418DW, the colours destroy it, black smearing is an absolute non-issue with the super fast overdrive setting and yeah! it's a great monitor. I suspect you'll be fine and, like me, not even notice flickering. Sorry I can't be much help, unfortunately I would need to upgrade my CPU to give you a definitive answer.
@@audiojunkie5435 bro, I really appreciate that info. I got my first PC ever with that AMD gpu and a ryzen 7700X not the most powerful CPU but I believe it's enough for 1440p cuz I've only played at 1080p and actually on that res I also get cpu bottlenecking (1080p) so I hope I won't be too bad on 2k bc 4k screens are too expensive and I don't wanna loose to much performance.
@@kennY_72 I think 3440x1440p is perfect for those specs, in fact, I plan on getting the same (7600x or 7700x). Most reviews use a 4090 but since the 7900XTX is 1. less powerful + less bottlenecked in general compared to the driver overhead of nvidia GPUs, we should be golden at this resolution :)
Just watched this on my brand new Dell S3422DWG. So far its a great upgrade AND I got it 30% off from Dell Aus so rather than $899 it was like $670. A great choice. Also when you say medium Response time, do you mean Super Fast?
@@dop3hasib Absolutely. Its been a great monitor. However id suggest that you sit for a bit and think about if you actually need an Ultrawide. After getting it i realised I dont really need an Ultrawide ahahahaha.
I don't understand why my previous comment was deleted :) It was truthful. I indicated a secret that any monitor can look much better for free and like IPS panel by turning on digital vibrance (driver settings). Gigabyte G34 will be likely as good as ASUS or Dell in this regard for less money (in SDR mode). Probably, this feature will shift colors a little bit and it's not right for designers but for common people there is no that big difference between profiles. Actually, Gigabyte has 490-500 nits (Dell 520-550 and Asus 500-520, very uniform) on HDR mode and even more than Dell on SDR mode (Gigabyte 370 nits vs Dell 350 nits vs ASUS 450-470). I would say that Dell and ASUS will be noticibly better in HDR mode than Gigabyte G34 because colors won't be so shifted as in Gigabyte (even with color saturation for this panel because they (colors) become quited shifted and clipped (if it is used around 80% saturation/vibrancy) and if it is used 65% saturation/vibrancy, the colors are noticibly paler than in Dell or ASUS). ASUS is generally better than Dell or equal to it (depends on which features are more important for you).
Has anyone compared a side by side with this resolution to 4k? I've been playing 4k and love how good it looks. But, this has been on a 4k tv and know pc monitor is better for gaming in general.

Gigabyte G34WQC has the worst black ghosting/bleeding that will appear on the screen with any type of motion (gaming, videos or just scrolling), freesync/fakegsync performance is subpar and cant be compared to true Gsync output, bright (pure white) colors have this tiresome glow that will be killing your eyes - literally, even reading text will become a chore, also have in mind that when gaming 3440 x 1440 resolution will suck up up to 30% more of graphics power than regular 2k 2560 x1440 monitor, so your gaming performance will drop significantly using the same video card, this is my own personal experience after recent purchase and quick return.

I bought it too. Wondering what he meant as well. Please explain!
Lol wut this monitor is $449. Why waste 200 bucks.
@@olivercox2565 Im an Australian. Our prices are way way higher due to currency conversion and minda crazy markups
It’s on sale for $500 now… should I buy it? In Australia too
@@dop3hasib Absolutely. Its been a great monitor. However id suggest that you sit for a bit and think about if you actually need an Ultrawide. After getting it i realised I dont really need an Ultrawide ahahahaha.
One question...if this is "only" freesync premium (ASUS VG34VQL1B)...does that mean that cant run HDR and Freesync together? :-/
Quando la recensione dell msi 34" artymis??
For the Dell, is the 60 hz problem just for G-Sync or with freesync too?
just gsync
I'm leanming to the Asus Tuff as my Samsung 32 G70 is showing weird artifacts and colors on start up.
ASUS is generally better than Dell or equal to it (depends on which features are more important for you).
i’m going with the gigabyte just because Rn it’s the only one below $400. it’s $369 on amazon rn
Has anyone compared a side by side with this resolution to 4k? I've been playing 4k and love how good it looks. But, this has been on a 4k tv and know pc monitor is better for gaming in general.
Bro I confused Between Asus vg27aq1a and Gigabyte m27q? What I do now?🙄
Any suggestions???
I’d go with the asus I own one very bright colors
What's that game where you are shooting from the helicopter? Looks cool.
What about Acer XZ342CK? No one talks about it.
5:10 this is huge tearing on Asus, why?
Love your monitor reviews. It helped me decide my 34in which is the LG GP83A.
That's a great choice! My personal favorite monitor!
@@TypeCTechReviews Please help me . I now have the LG 34UM88 monitor, which I am satisfied with as well as the colors. But I would like to switch to something 144 hz. Dell S3422DWG is an upgrade or rather a downgrade considering that I'm switching from ips to va? Do you have another recommendation for me? I mention that I look in the dark room all the time.
@@supermeseriasu did you switch yet? and if so, how do you like the dell over the lg?
@@noisedeckofficial dell 3422dwg was terribly bad compared to that LG. His colors also affected my sight. Now I got LG Oled which is different. It is a pleasure to sit at the computer.
@@supermeseriasu allright, samm why is everyone recommending this than. What monitor would you now recommend me than? Thanks for reacting that fast btw. I want to stay around de 500€ and also i want 1 ms and more than 144hz.
Asus uses a CSOT panel which is TLC. The green purple isn't nearly as bad as some make it seem. Ghosting is far less on it than the 800usd MSI I tried when it was on sale for 530. The Asus contrast is so high I tried to go back to IPS and couldn't take it went and got the Asus again. I’ll add I did notice the green purple ghosting in some games bad. I’m now using the new benq ex3410r it’s better in some ways and no flicker or green purple ghosting
Nice review, you made me take my decision i will go for Dell 👍
how was it?
can you also review the LG 38WN95C?
@0:37, did you just say you saw the dell for $50? share that link bro lol
What's the flight game being played at 3:31 and 6:40?
That is Far Cry 6!
Dell is on sale for $400 on amazon right now
I would like to see the subtitles translated into Italian but because it visualizes me that the video is spoken in Vietnamese. And so it translates very badly
Just bought the Dell, then watched this video. If you had said the Gigabyte was the best I think I would have just chucked myself out my window lol
Huawei mateview gt 34 inch should be a contender as well. It's 165hz 10bit va panel that is cheap.
its LCD Panel, not LED
My pc has a 3080 graphics card… i am only able to get 60 hertz refresh rate on the dell s3422dwg
Once i went into nvidia i could go to 100, but how can i get to 144hz is this a monitor driver issue?
Make sure you are using DisplayPort and non HDMI. If you are using DisplayPort, make sure it is a 1.4 cable. If the option still doesn’t show up, try checking in windows display settings and then clicking advanced and changing the refresh rate there. Hope this helps!
@@TypeCTechReviews yes the refresh rate changes was in windows advanced settings. Initially I only had the 60 & 75hz options. I then opened through nvidia control panel, and i could get to 100hz… but I have not figured out how to reach 144hz
My pixio monitor no problem
Maybe i will contact dell this evening…
The display port cable i used was the one that came with the monitor… directly into my 3080 card and to the monitor.. a no signal display, monitor going to sleep notification.
@@TypeCTechReviews i have a 1.4 displayport arriving first thing in the morning… i have gotten better colors using nvidia settings…
Another thing i noticed is gsync is not showing up under display on the nvidia control panel, no option to turn it on
@@TypeCTechReviews just came back to give insight… i used the new display port (1.4) as you mentioned.
Immediately the picture showed up, the option for 143.9 hertz was there… also the g-sync option became available.
That being said, the monitor, is as nice as the ips monitor i left. It looks great! Thanks
Speak too fast. Using the auto-generated subtitles to test how it converts your English voice into English text and it struggles badly with many errors.
Does anyone have any calibration settings for the Dell S3422DWG? I can't get the HDR looking right (and it weirdly shifts to a red hue after a while of Windows HDR being on).
Is it not ideal to purchase the Gigabyte if I use nvidia graphics cards? Since it doesn’t have g-sync?
I've got the Gigabyte monitor arriving tomorrow and I've seen comments saying that G-SYNC works fine on 2000 Series cards (I have a RTX 2070 Super) - I'd be surprised if it does not work as it is fine on my Freesync LG 29" Ultrawide. I'll post back tomorrow.
@@NoOnionsUK how did it go?
Can you give an update on g sync with this monitor?
Sorry all for the delay in replying - G-SYNC works just fine on this monitor.
I found the built-in speakers to be very poor compared to my LG (I don't want to wear headphones all the time). Until I can be bothered to reconnect my 5.1 surround I just bought a cheap Creative 2.1 setup (Pebble plus).
no tiene sentid el subtitulado en español que coloca youtube, habla de epopeyas y de la universidad
need that dell vs lg vid bc amazon be playing games with the price. last night 15 units left, this morning ...$1000 bucks... got me like... what even is a nanocell anyway 🤣🤣🤣
When he recommends the one you just randomly bought. 😭
Captions for this are…weird
Actually bought the Dell S3422DWG few days ago. Quite nice gotta say
Still waiting for mine to be made lol. I paid £395 and they have offered another £75 off due to the wait.
Same. Second day using it and I'm really happy. Coming from an 27" 1440p 165hz IPS display, but can't say I really miss much of it. This monitor is really solid, especially for the price
@@mikokb so you tell me there is no smiring and the gaming is like your old ips monitor?
@@asenstoyanov6877 the dell almost does not have it but it has ghosting
do you recommend it ?
dude, I'm getting a Dell 😃
very nice reviw
Got the gigabyte monitor for $369.00.
VG35VQ 35
no samsung. :(
Gigabyte G34WQC has the worst black ghosting/bleeding that will appear on the screen with any type of motion (gaming, videos or just scrolling), freesync/fakegsync performance is subpar and cant be compared to true Gsync output, bright (pure white) colors have this tiresome glow that will be killing your eyes - literally, even reading text will become a chore, also have in mind that when gaming 3440 x 1440 resolution will suck up up to 30% more of graphics power than regular 2k 2560 x1440 monitor, so your gaming performance will drop significantly using the same video card, this is my own personal experience after recent purchase and quick return.
so 5000 5* Amazon reviews are worth sh*t ? Lol Speaking about 30% more demanding resolution as a CON ? What the fu*k is wrong with you ?
