I have been remiss in watching my favorite TH-cam-ers and decided to catch up. The last time I watched you were still trying to get through some bad times and your life was in turmoil. The first thing I noticed about today was how much more relaxed and smiling and even your voice is just more like you. The second is how this transformation of a small piece showcasing your talents!
The wooden nut is something you would never see today. Very novel. I like seeing the care that went into something nobody will ever see, back in the 1800's. Thanks, I wouldn't know how to clamp that, now I do.
I love that no project is too small for you. A simple plant stand can have a LOT of sentimental value to the owner and it deserves as much care and attention as bigger pieces. Bravo, Trena!
Just lovely. I am so pleased to see Trena fixing furniture again! PS.. Cool trick with the glue in the cracks and sanding to fill. Always something new to learn from you.
So satisfying to see older pieces brought back to life. They were made so much better than furniture today. Even if you can't make them perfect they have character nothing is perfect. New furniture has no soul. Wow what a transformation. Great video
As always, Amazing! The old 68 retired guy says. I made a table similar to this out of black walnut. In shop class high School 1973. More of an end table with top about 24 inches across. My Mother before she passed insisted, I take it home with me. Now it is in my living room. I was just starting to do woodworking. To my {Mother} it was the greatest gift I could give her. Now 50 years later it is still in the family. I really like your attention to details. Nice Job.
... 60yr old woman here... and my mom ditched all my pieces from both wood shop and metal shop. 😔 (I was advanced in both classes, so all the pieces were quite nice... AND fit her design taste. She was just a mean woman. 🫤) I am so glad you still have your piece(s). Wonderful memories, and an heirloom that will be part of your family for (hopefully) MANY generations. ❤️
@@Zardox2 you gotta do some woodwork girl. I'm restoring a few old pieces on the side. So much fun. Most of all it's learning, relaxing and you won't find these such pieces anywhere.
@@queenbee3647 I have kept all of the wood pieces that my younger son made me in high school shop class! No furniture, but he made me bowls, cutting boards, vases, and such. He was so happy that I kept them and was able to share pictures of them with his children! I wish all moms and dads would save them and pass them on to their children and grandchildren.
What a charming plant stand. So graceful in its lines. I really like the brown stain shade. The lacquer makes such a difference. Your client will love it to pieces. Thanks, Trena, for showing us this repair/rehab.
That really WAS quite a transformation, Trena. Wow. Really a fairly intricate little piece with all of the curves and the way it's put together. Encouraging to see that a professional can be challenged with a small but mighty piece! Surely the owner was very impressed!
So good to see this beautiful little stand come back to life. Even better to see you, Trena looking happy at your work. Love the signs, your cards, and the new shop layout. Thanks. You make my day.they
Trena, you always bring out the best of every piece! It's a quirky design in some ways, simple in others, but quite beautiful after your work. Thank you for sharing!
I have always thought that small repair projects are the most difficult. This video was very well-made and informative. I love the beekeeper's tool she often uses. The final product is magnificent.
I am surprised at how different (good) this piece looks now, and I am amazed at the hidden intricacies of restoration/repair, and I respect that you forge ahead into unknown waters to effect your craftsmanship/skills and unique practices to accomplish the goal.
I don't know why I watch your videos, I am not going to start restoring furniture, I have however subscribed and find myself compelled to like each one I have watched. Thank-you for saying John was your father, I thought the business might be, you do all the work and he gets the glory. Now I can see you have learnt your skills from him. I am going to try and break the habit, so expect your life kes to go down by one. Regards from the UK
¡I have a dream! Saludos y bendiciones.
For a small Piece it was complicated by several factors but in the End ,Trena knocked it out making a jig to glue to top was very clever ,awesome job ,Happy to see things are coming together for the new shop ,and people are no longer dogging the job
That deadblow hammer looks like the first one I bought as a newly minted mechanic back in the 70's. I had it for years before it started to break apart into shiney chunks of plastic.

What a cute little plant stand! I've never seen a wooden nut like that! Kind of a cool item! You seem much more relaxed, happy and content today. I'm happy to see that again. 😊
It's always so enjoyable watching you work. What a nice way to start the weekend, and a good tip on filling those rounded seams. That little piece was quite an elegant puzzle to work on. I really like that brown stain, too. From junk to treasure, once again.
Glad to see the new shop construction is beginning. Also, glad to see you restoring furniture again. I hear a happy contented tone in your voice. I missed that in the last video. It seemed to me that someone had upset you. I was angry to see that. Happy to see you now. Always remember you are our, your viewers, celebrity! Your happiness is our joy.
Perhaps NOT hockey tape but Old Style Cloth Friction Tape, "...used to cover splices, wire joints & connections with circuits of 50 volts or lower." I remember using some back in the 1960's. Maybe... just maybe. I think we're all ready for the new shop, so you can get out of smaller workspace you now have, which, even though functional, might be lacking in elbow room.
Great transformation. I use the same trick for small cracks when I'm wood turning. Rub in PVA, and then sand. It took me a little while to realise, that your mini pry bar is a Bee hive frame tool. Seems like it is a handy tool. I never thought of using it as such. I will get myself an extra one to use in my shop.
It's beautiful -- and it would be match for the oval table in my reception hall, which sits in front of an old built-in suitor's bench and the fireplace.
Trina. I was so excited to see even just the paint area for the new shop and for the electric. Can’t wait to see progress as it goes up. I watched you do this project and wondered how that would turn out. As usual it was as beautiful as ever. Thank you for sharing what you do with all of us
Lovely! My old piano stool had wood threading like that. I noticed that the scrolled legs and feet didn’t align originally, but you’ve aligned them at the end.
Trena, I just can’t stop watching your videos such skill and knowledge you have. I wonder who will follow you in your business? I’m retired and volunteer in a shop that does laser engraving, “ETCHUS” in Dallas Texas I so wish I had the availability to volunteer in your shop. Looking forward to your new shop, bless you.
