      Get off all dating apps. Work on yourself. I say this all over YT.... go to the gym, focus on your career, your body, your finances, your mind. Meditate, pray, go to the gym, find hobbies you love, make lots of male friends, stay away from drugs (porn, alcohol, etc...) and watch how much you like yourself. When that happens, you are in control and a woman is simply complementing you, not completing you.
      Never depend on anyone or anything outside of you to make you happy. Be your own happiness.
      Fast forward your life to when you are 70 and you have kept up your game physically, mentally, spiritually, financially, etc...
      Her looks will fade, her body will sag.
      YOU are the PRIZE brother, not her. Remember that.

      Dude. Started tinder last week after finally being single again first time since 2015. First day was decent. Got a good amount of likes. So I bought gold lol. Got unlimited swipes and saw who liked me. I made a huge mistake swiping right on like 90% of what I saw for a few hours lol and then the algorithm destroyed me. I barely get anything now. I tried to swipe left for 2 days to get out of algo hell and still didn’t help. I’m a good looking guy too. The system is laughable. Now tinder is ruined for me and I’ll have to be more selective on the others. It’s just insane though how a rookie could make a mistake day 1 and never be able to get out of hell. Psychological torture.

    Todd, if you can manage it, I think the most powerful form of content you could release about online dating would be case studies of guys who are not conventionally good-looking, but by implementing your advice, they start getting results. That could really help give some guys hope that it could actually work for them, despite the fact that it hasn't yet.

    • @Paul-yk7ds
      @Paul-yk7ds ปีที่แล้ว +12

      @regisjohnson4958 Hey I know it's kind of stupid, but that's how human psychology works, and so that's how persuasion and marketing has to work, too: People need to believe that something is possible and can work for them, in order to decide it's worth putting effort into pursuing it. I'm assuming that Todd's recent focus on online dating content means he's gonna launch another online dating product in the coming months, and I think what a lot of guys would need in order to buy (and implement the free advice too), is more hope that it could actually work for them. So I was mostly giving this comment as marketing advice for Todd. I'm not like morally supporting people's laziness or pessimism haha.

    As an attractive guy who gets alot of likes, bio doesn't matter. The only thing that matters is your looks and how well you take photos. Tinder is all looks and aesthetics. You could literally only have "lol" as you bio and you'd still get a ton of matches if you're attractive with good photos. So the best way to get more matches is by hitting the gym and "looksmaxxing". Get a haircut that suites your face, get a solid skincare routine, wear lifts if you're on the shorter side. Do all that and take good pics and you'll instantly start getting more likes, matches, and dates.

    As a woman let me share my opinion and I'm sure it will help someone.
    So if you are a man on a dating app,
    1. Use different nice photos. Close up to show your face, smile. Full-size photo to show your height etc. Don't use group photos, or photos with other women or children. Especially if they are not yours. It gives us the wrong impression about you.
    2. If you have advantages, show them. Mention of you have a great job, 6 packs etc. Especially if you are not handsome, you need to use other things to impress at once. No need to hide your talents etc.
    3. It's better to be certain. Mention what you want - marriage, hookup etc. Rather than “I'm figuring out my goals”.
    4. Put some effort into your bio.
    5. Do text first. Be active. Initiate a call and meet up.
    6. Be nice and polite.
    Good luck!

    I've been on dating apps since almost their inception. I had some pretty good results in the beginning, when the apps were fairly new, but very quickly my results tanked until eventually, it was taking me an average of one month to get a date, and that's spending an average of an hour a day between 4 or 5 apps. So 30ish hours for one date. One date that would stand me up, cancel on me, or just say "sorry, I'm actually not interested in meeting you" more often than not.
    I deleted and made new accounts many times, constantly swapped out photos, changed bios, changed locations etc. Nothing helped. It felt like looking for a job prior to the 2008 collapse vs after. When the apps were new, it was like pre 2008, just throw a resume in any direction and someone's gonna call you and offer you a job. After 2008...you're sending out resumes after resume for days, weeks and months without a single reply.
    I honestly don't know how guys get any matches, let alone replies, let alone dates, let alone dates that actually show up on dating apps these days.

But I think point is, this stuff is really tough and finding great, attractive women who want to spend time in a man to woman way is something that is just simply difficult to master . Long term Dan Bilzerian and Andrew Tate have it right..get lots of money and start throwing mansion parties with 15 women and 3 guys and that's probably always going to reign Supreme

    I've been on about 500 first dates myself, and I agree 100% with almost all of his points.
    I'll add to one: Regarding voice / video. I don't do it all the time, but only situationally. It's a game changer however. Look into voice exercises and good lighting for your webcam. You want to knock it out of the park on first impression. If you improve the timbre and pitch of your voice, and reduce nasal sounds even if it only last for a couple minutes when she first picks up it's huge.
    (Obviously also being a great conversationalist is key, so work on that as well)
    Regarding the ask out: My experience has been different, however my demographics might also be different. I date almost exclusively STEM women, and entrepreneurial women.
    I've found that attempting to assess their preferences in any way has worse results than making a proposal and allowing them to counter. (This goes for text date requests only. In person you can vibe a lot more in the back and forth)
    For most people having too many choices is a bad thing because people are horrible at making decisions.
    So, I instead propose large appeal dates. Some don't like coffee, some don't like alcohol, but EVERYONE will drink tea.
    And, while I used to spend time micro optimizing things like finding square tables to sit on an adjacent corner, and having dim lighting like in a pub, the truth is going from date 0 to date 1 is way harder than date 1 to date 2 (At least for me), so presenting an option that's really easy to say yes to has produced the maximum result. (Often if any distance is involved or if the person is busy this is in favor of video / calls as he said)
    Additionally, I basically don't text at all after setting up the date. I'll say something like 'Great see you then! I've got it in my calendar. Here's my number in case you're running late on saturday! Talk to you then :)'
    This is for multiple reasons:
    1) If you spend 10 hours texting a girl over a week before meeting her, you're likely wasting your time because you'll be highly interesting in less than 1/3 first dates.
    2) Its very easy to be mundane over the course of a week and have them lose interest. And if you're constantly being a bit edgy to be interesting, you'll eventually take a wrong turn that you couldnt' see coming. If you had already met the wrong turn is only a minor negative. Before you've met it might blow up. Pre meeting is like options trading. You want to make high leverage risky bets (Because of the concept of dating 10% that are wildly into you rather than 100% that are meh), but if you get a few good rolls and win the date, know when to cash out.

    Advice on “standing out” on a bio? It seems like, to me on the dating apps I’ve used, things to “stand out” make you boring- “I like to go on adventures, do hiking and skiing, I’m a wild one” seems like 80% of profiles

    • @Paul-yk7ds
      @Paul-yk7ds ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yeah, then those lines are not "stand out" lines in reality. Personally, I started my bio with a ridiculous joke that gets a lot of responses, so that has worked decently for me. Jokes about your dating life or what you're looking for can work well. There was a famous one from the Endless Options course that essentially said he's married with a baby on the way and he's just on the app to find some side-action, before clarifying "Just kidding, I'm single." Another one I saw was like "I have 21 kids from 5 past marriages, hope you don't mind" or something. I could imagine those formats getting played out, but I came up with my own twist that seemed a bit more creative, and it worked well for me over the past year (although now I am testing other bios against it).

    • @fuzzypanda1684
      @fuzzypanda1684 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      Dude, it really depends on if the universe likes you or hates you. I did horribly on dating apps for years. Finally, I did a test. I created a new profile using photos of a male model I had access to from a photography class I took. He was handsome, but not overly handsome. I build the bio and pics like I was a trust fund kid, traveling the world 1st class, driving expensive cars etc.
      I used my editing skills to put together seamless images of "me" in amazing lofts in cities around the world, did just enough research to make it sound like I actually spent time there, I'd say things like "me at some city in Spain, Mount so-and-so erupted the week we arrived so we had to leave lol". Obviously I used a real city and volcano name. Sounds really in depth but really only took a few minutes to research. Mocking up photos of "me" with "friends" took a bit longer, but I really wanted to do a proper test.
      Anyway, I made it seem like I was a top 5%er but didn't go TOO overboard, no yachts or private jets or anything. Very high end, but still believable.
      Anyway, I got the same results as my actual profile. Very, very few matches, almost no messages, and the ones I did get were all "Hey baby, wanna chat on my cam site?". I even used a VPN set to the same location every time I opened the app under that account so the app wouldn't "know" it was me. But yeah, after a month, hadn't gotten a single legit message or date.
      Seems kinda insane, but I really wanted to do a thorough test. All in all it only took a few hours to set up and it gave me the answer I was looking for.

    As always Todd is wonderful and as he said also in other videos, online dating is here to stay and probably will grow even more, but to me Dating Game = Comfort Zone, furthermore it is pointless, online there are different things that can be easily misunderstood, sometimes it's not properly easy to convey a joke, your personality and I believe that online makes the game even more random because there are girls who have tons of guys messaging them, tons of followers and they never read your messages, instead with cold approach face to face with a high level of eye-contact, good body language and good voice tone you make a great impact, and the girl hardly forgets about you, unless you don't do stupid stuff, with a bio and a picture on a dating app you can easily fake your personality and it's very hard to emerge among people who have a very weak game but wonderful pictures

    My experience of Bumble app is negative, but I live in hope. Only had one date so far with a man who was clearly not interested in getting to know me yet he was listed as a good match in Bumble.
    Even now I can not figure out why. I am not sure if the matches are an AI mistake or people who are just making it up as they go along. I am a woman of colour and middle aged, age appropriate to me is 40 to about 55. Almost all of the age appropriate middle-aged men, are openly looking for a 30 year old. Way too many of the men are not attractive with the hygiene/teeth, live in other distant countries, short in height under 5 foot 8 inches, look like a weather-beaten and wrinkle-ravaged Father Christmases, looking for something casual while lying about wanting a relationship, smoker (ashtray breath), fudging photos and age, or saying something that flags red in the profile app message statement. You have to pay to see the people who find you attractive, so you have to swipe left consistently. The worst thing that happens is GHOSTING; so rude, lazy, and cowardly. Most of the good looking men don't make an effort to woo The AI algorithm could maybe guess who I like in a million years; doesn't know how to filter timewasters, and just wants older women (over 40) to waste money. Anyway ladies, Bumble is way better than Tinder, so good luck.

True, I believe the better you can make your photos look, the better your responses will be. However, the ultimate goal is not to get more online matches. It's to get the result you want in real life from the matches you get. If someone can't accept what I look like on an average day I've set myself up for failure, plus the time and expense of a date. If that's the case I'd rather they not match with me in the first place.
