  • Feng Shui Dos and Don’ts for the Bedroom (Avoid these Taboos!)
    We are back with another episode of Feng Shui basic guides- today is all about the bedroom. When you have good chi in the bedroom, it brings happiness and positivity into everything that you do. Feng shui success in the bedroom starts with the correct bed placement, then takes into consideration balance, symmetry, and harmony. Whatever you do, avoid my top 12 taboos at all costs to bring good chi into the bedroom.
    Feng Shui is all about energy and the art of spatial alignment. It illustrates how everything within your domain has its own intrinsic energy that can be auspicious and beneficial, but may also be harmful energy that can affect your spirit and well-being. My goal from this series is to help you become more mindful of your home and show you how to create beautiful spaces that are functional, inspired, and most importantly, make you feel good!

      @@carolinetalde2933 try looking for a window shaped mirror, ideally hanging it opposite any direction that any light could reflect off of it making it feel like there’s light coming from the “window” . Also just adding any shaped mirror in any dark room helps to spread light around & brighten up a dark space…Amazon just type in window shaped mirrors! It really makes a diff in a room w zero windows . For real

      It's funny how even before knowing anything about Feng shui, certain placements or items would feel wrong. For instance, I could never have a mirror looking on my bed, I'd actually prefer not to have one at all. And being across from a closet was always unsettling. Thank you Julie for explaining why!

    Thank you for your knowledge! You make it simple. I have now begun taking picture's as I place pieces in each room. I rent a Town Home and have too much furniture for each room. I will be moving in one year so I have decided to rent a storage. I wish men would build, but not design. I have built so many homes. As my abilities grew I began placing furniture in each room as I drew the layout of each home. I found this helped me, but also the builder. We could communicate easier. They would always put the heat vent under where I knew the bed should be placed🌝

    Julie, I really appreciate your narrative style, with so much information presented in such an organized way, interspersed with cuts to visual examples and diagrams and written details. After your kitchen feng shui, I put a plant on a shelf by the sink, since it was opposite the cooktop, to blunt the opposition of fire and water. My bedroom was a bit of a challenge, but I believe it is 95% there. My nightstands are 3” too tall, with pesky poison arrows. That’s my 5%! One thing I will start doing is closing the bathroom door at night. I can already see it will be a nice touch

    Julie I discovered you recently and spent all of last weekend binging each and every one of your videos. You were like my Netflix and chill and it was such a warm relaxing weekend listening to your voice and taking notes and ideas from you. Great video, thank you so kindly. I was born and raised in Europe and fondly remember our home never being cluttered, everything had it's place. Visiting friends at their home I realized the harmony at my own house. Shoes where taken off when entering, a small entryway held a shoe cabinet with a cushion to sit and take you shoes off or on, a mirror and hat rack and nothing more. Everything looked cozy and warm through out our home. Thank you kindly for sharing your knowledge, I learned a few more Trix to make my home even more cozy. Hugs)))🤗

    How amazing! I'm generally very sensitive to the surroundings - shapes, and lines, and forms etc., and even if I'm not into the metaphysics per se, I agree a hundred percent with what Julie is explaining. Things in whatever form or shape, if they are not right, they make you wince. I think many sensitive, intuitive people are the same. I've never been interested in Feng shui , but I can see that it is all about common sense and a person's intuitiveness, sensitivity.

      It's like that in Georgia too. I can't imagine sleeping without a ceiling fan. Mine is above my feet so I guess it isn't as bad. So glad to see this video today bcuz I’ve had some problems sleeping lately. My bed, nightstands and lamps are in line, but there a few things I definitely need to adjust. I would love more info, bcuz I need to see visual examples like you’ve shared. I have two books and have a hard time with reading them. Not enough pictures. 👍🏽

    I love this! These insights explain so much. Would you please do one for living rooms? Especially an open concept space with oddly placed walls. Thank you so much for your dedication to produce such quality videos. I look forward to the next one!

    Hi, thank you for great content! I'm definetely interested into deep dives for all of the main home areas (bathroom, living room, kitchen, bedroom, hallway etc.) I'm also interested into a deep dive about what it's good to put in your success direction area (which items, or is it perhaps custom made visual board etc). Thank you for great work & greetings from Slovenia. :)

    I looove watching your videos! Everything you post is so helpful. We are doing a full house renovation and I am currently suffering every little desing decision myself. I watch and rewatch your videos to help make sense of all of this chaos. Any advise on switch plates and socket covers? Should they match each rooms decor? Or should they be the same throughout the house? We want something a bit more stylish than a white plastic one and are lookng into metals. Should we keep the 2 or 3 metal principal and take it room by room?

    • @JulieKhuu
      @JulieKhuu  3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Definitely take it room by room. You can also get wood ones to paint and coordinate with the finishes in the room Coco. Do what works with your design intent, mix it up! 👍🏻☺️

      I learned a lot. I have tried to use these principles in my small, one bedroom apartment, and the only problem is the ceiling fan. It's government housing and I'm not able to make changes. However, I have added live plants and soft colors and nice artwork. The fan helps me sleep comfortably and does not distract me. Thanks for your info. 😊

    Hello Julie. Thanks for all of your insightful recommendations around interior design. I’m really enjoying the feng shui series right now since we’re remodeling our newly purchased beachfront condo. In our bedroom I have a matching mirrored makeup vanity and jewelry armoire that can only be placed on the wall at the end of our bed. I love the size of these pieces as they fit perfectly in the space and serve me well, however, I’m wondering if covering the mirrors in some way or another is an acceptable way to adhere to your recommendation around not having mirrors pointed directly at you in the bedroom? (Or is the energy of having them there still not optimal?) If acceptable, do you have any practical tips on achieving this? As I understand it, mirrors can be painted and wallpapered. Do you know if this is true or do you think this so called fix would simply look too tacky? Thank you kindly for your input and suggestions.

    • @JulieKhuu
      @JulieKhuu  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Yes, if you can’t remove the mirror portion, covering the mirror would help tremendously Sherri. Check out my video on Feng Shui cures for common home issues to see how this can be done 👍🏻

    I am moving next week and my whole life will be in one room, since I only rent a room and not sure how my much space I have in kitchen, garage, possible pantry. I watched this a few months ago and already reconsidered my current situation. I definitely will use the knowledge I gained through this post. Can’t wait to apply it.
    I watched a tv show with multi million dollar homes that have not even considered Feng Shui in the design, because the developers didn’t consult with a designer as it appears. I’m grateful for your teachings. Thank you.

      Thank you for watching! 🙏🏻☺️ My clients bring me onto the project when they secure their architect. This is the only way we can all work together to design a space in line with Feng Shui principles for the contractor to build.
