To make my small bedroom look bigger, I downsized from a queen sized bed to a full sized one. It instantly opened my bedroom up. Someone even asked me, “how does your bedroom look bigger to me now?” 🤭 It looks more balanced too because I have two nightstands instead of one. I miss my queen bed though. 😔 👸🏽
I’m thinking I’m gonna do this too. But I’m gonna wait until it’s time to get a new mattress and then I’ll get a new mattress and bedframe etc. all at once.
@@JulieKhuu I watched your Feng Shui videos and realized that I needed two nightstands not one. The energy is different now that there’s balance. Every time I see my bedroom, it puts a smile 😀 on my face. I would have to get a bigger space. I can’t go back 🥹. Thank you for responding. 🙂☺️😊 👩🏽
Yes measurement is very important after listening to all your videos. I just kneeled my son's bedroom makeover! My husband and my friends think I should be a designer 🤣 thanks to Julie khuu design videos ❤❤❤
Thank you Julie! I have been so confused as where I should put my bed. My room is exactly like your example!! I’m glad to know I learned from you where I put my bed.
Thank you very much Julie for creating this video about small bedrooms. I would love to see more videos about small space organization, especially how to organize kid's stuff.
Years ago, I had my dad move my bed on the wall with my door. On the first night, I was hearing voices in bed. I made him move my bed back to the opposite wall the next day. Turns out, that was bad feng shui! My bed was not in the command position! Thank you, Julie, for helping me make sense of this experience years later.
Yes, outside the US 3 × 3 metres is pretty standard in modern and new homes where builders cut costs and make more from downsizing every room.. I am lucky to have a house built in the 1930's when the bedrooms were bigger then so my main bedroom is 4.5 x 3.5 metres which isn't that big but it makes a big difference that it is a bit longer. It has no closet or built in wardrobe of course so a free standing wardrobe takes up some space but I plan on doing a corner wardrobe to mediate that.
Not sure how I feel about no built-in closets. One the one hand, you can carve out whatever you need. On the other, that takes up more space in the room 🤔
A lot of places in the world count a closet as a room for tax purposes. When I lived in Italy, no one had closets in their bedrooms. They use wardrobes
@@valorielynwhitman8531 The Italians probably don't need a whole wall built in for clothes either because I don't think they collect a mass amount of clothes, shoes, bags etc., that needs mass storage spaces as they are more selective, which is what I have been trying to do so I won't need a big wardrobe.
Watching this vid felt like unlocking the secrets to a bigger, more functional bedroom! From clever storage solutions to creative furniture arrangements, this video is packed with inspiration for making the most out of a small bedroom.
Hey Julie, in Germany, when you rent a flat, you usually don't have these built in closets, so you have to put a huge armoire into the small bedroom which takes a lot of space away ....So I always look at your pictures thinking, hm, wish it could look like such a light scenario here ...But I really like all of your ideas! And pleeeeaaase tell me what nailpolish you are wearing. I love it!!!! ☺️
That’s interesting! In the states, you can’t call a room a “bedroom” without a closet (for resale value). The second case study had wall-to-wall Ikea closets across the foot of the bed. Did you catch that? Definitely makes the room more cramped, but no choice!
Try to focus less on the windows/ walls and more on what’s happening inside on the floor plan. Ppl get hung up on awkward/ offset/ irregular windows (and weird architectural details) when HOW you lay out the space with furniture will visually impact how the walls appear. I’m adding “Awkward Windows” to the awkward space series soon!! Thanks for watching! 💕
Julie, thanks again for another great video & I need to watch it again. I've lived in this 350 sq ft 'cottage ' for 3 years & only thing right in bedroom is bed in master position. I need a smaller bed & still haven't purchased one. I have a queen with only 18 in on one side where door is at end of that wall & a bit less on other side which 3/4 wall is window layered blackout drapes with Unfortunately I only have about 16" in from foot of the bed to the closet. I do have 2 unmatched small bedside tables on each side of the bed only 1 with a lamp. I do keep bed made & clothes hung ....definitely getting inspired to find smaller bed!
Unnecessary info but don't have a headboard I have a folding shoji type screen behind it covering a mirror as rental unable to remove. I don't like all these mirrors. The closet along foot bed area have sliding mirrored doors I also have covered with a drape. I have bed frame up higher to house 4 long, not high plastic tubs with photo albums of kids & grandkids I guess it's called making do. I want it to be more of a restful sanctuary.
I think a twin would work best for your space while still allowing addl storage furniture in the room. Daybed will allow you to push the bed up against the wall and still free up space! Lots to digest, thank you for watching 😊
Replace queen with full size bed - many are in great condition at bargain price in second hand stores. Move bed to a wall that gives you at least 18” on each side and 24” to stand in front of closet. Either run sheer drapes across the entire wall or replace window drapes with inside mount Roman shade. Replace table lamp with wall sconces. Hang mirror opposite the window to add symmetry and reflect natural light to other walls. Paint the entire room - windows, doors, walls, moldings, maybe ceiling - all the same color. Replace any small pictures with 1 very large picture. If room has no carpet, leave floor bare or get solid rug 6” to 12” smaller than room on all 4 sides.
I recently got the symmetry corrected in my bedroom: matching bedroom lamps on either side of the bed. They are on side table of different heights, but I put several books on the lower table to get the height to match. Good Feng Shui directions either way for me: NE or SW. The eclectic bedroom is my choice!
Guarantee that my tiny bedroom is definitely the issue, haha! I would love advice for a small bedroom that 2 people share with 2 cats. It's been a huge challenge.
I made a skinny beside cabinet on hidden castors so I can vac the space and make the bed. I made a long computer desk and hung the TV with hidden cables. I took out the wardrobe doors and put the dresser in there. I hung the curtain rods high and it look so much taller. I’m not compromising the king bed and just have to set it up with enough room for the fit ball at the desk. Can’t sleep upstairs in the main room after divorce. Have made the room pretty and need to hang the art. Painted the head board and made a removable foam piece for it and a couple of options for covers.
@@JulieKhuu Yes, good to wash the covers too which was my main concern. The foam and cover are Velcroed on to the headboard and the base is tucked down between the bed and headboard which is perfect. I wanted it removable to make the bed as it’s a bit harder to make a waterbed. For a bit of luxury, I can even make a woven leather one. Possibilities are endless.
Hi Julie. I'm originally from SE Asia and in my country, the building code requires that for a bedroom, one of the sides must be at least 2m. It's common to have bedrooms which are 2x2.5m or 2x3m for budget builds or apartments. Of course if one has more space or $$, then the rooms can be bigger. The bedrooms in my rented apt are 2x3m. It can fit a double bed (full size) or single bed/ day bed. Studio apartments can be as small as 15 to 20 sqm (~150 to 200 sq ft). Thnx for the vid, great ideas! You're one of my fave interior designers here on YT, esp for your feng shui knowledge.
Oh yeah, that’s definitely small! Older builds can get away with these measurements, but nowadays people want larger interior rooms. They will sacrifice common area storage space to achieve it! Thank you for watching 🙏🏻
Julie, this is brilliant! My bedroom is larger than 10x10. It may be 18x18. Need to measure. What I don’t like about my room is the wall to wall sliding glass door closet! Ugh! The only place I could put my bed was on the solid wall. I’m staring at myself when I rise and retire! Other than that, the bed would’ve been placed with headboard against the window. The remaining wall opens up to the bathroom with very little wall space on either side of the door.
You can remove the closet sliders and install a drapery rod to hang pretty curtains instead. The closet will be so much more functional this way when you can open the curtains see everything 😍
Hi Julie... Thank you very much for your educational videos. I'm in South Africa and most bedrooms are pretty much 3m x 3m. Mine is bigger than that being 3m x 5m{ very awkward}. But the one thing I would like to do would to add another to flank bed. I have one windows on the right side of my bed and non on the left so for now I've put a mirror for symmetry.
Pull the bed away from the wall just a smidge to make making your bed easier in the morning! When you’re ready for a second nightstand, you only need a small shelf that can be wall mounted 👍
Thank you for another great and truly helpful video! I really liked the second bedroom design, but I would have to paint a rich, saturated color on the walls. I can't sleep in a BR with white or cream walls. Give me navy blue, darkest green or maybe even velvety black! I have to have our king bed against the windows, ugh. But I hung navy blue cotton velvet blackout drapes with sheers and shades underneath 😅😅😅
I can sleep with light walls if the windows are completely blacked out 😂 But yes, that second bedroom would look killer with dark walls especially with the blonde wood
Our home was built in 1960 is only 552 square feet. Our bedroom is only 8 1/2 by 9 1/2. No closet. We have a queen bed my husband made the headboard 2 night stands that he also built and attacked to the wall. One window with pull down shades. It's not big enough to put anything else in there. we just have enough room to get around the bed. Thank you for you ideas.❤
I had a much larger space before my current bedroom. Honestly, all you need is a bed! Having less in the bedroom allows for a more restful slumber and encourages you to use the common spaces more 🙌🏻
The hemnes day bed pulls out into a double and folds over the two matresses one on top of the other so you just need to take off pillows leave the bed made fold over and push in the bottom half. Then put the pillows in the drawers and throw a throw over the bedding. Or put pillows at the back for cushions and you have those drawers whether you leave it big or make it small the drawers still function. So its a good solution if you want space by day but bigger bed by night and has storgage too.
I have a queen size bed and my bedroom is about 14 x 14 (not including the bathroom) so I have some room to move around. And always looking forward to the design tips and I like the two rooms with simple designs.
I loved the ideas but felt the same way, the pictures moved too quickly. I went into settings and slowed the video down, turned on closed captions and muted volume. I found the video informative and liked the ideas so I just tweaked the presentation to my speed.❤
Hallo Julie❤ You are so competent! I have just re done my bedroom but i dont feel like sleeping there, i still sleep on my big confy sofà. I really need your help to fix this mess
Why don’t you sleep in there? Is it because the bed is not comfortable? Maybe think about investing in a memory foam mattress that is as cushy as your sofa 😊🛋️
Great video Julie! My teen daughter has a very small room with 3 main obstacles. The entry door, a small closet and under one of the windows is a radiator that takes up space. Currently she has a twin bed (it used to be a loft bed with a desk under it), a full-size dresser and a vanity she insists on keeping in lieu of the desk. Floor space is at a premium. There are two windows, and her twin bed is under one of them against the wall. Pulling the bed straight out will limit her floor space more. Any suggestions would be great! Thank you.
Hi Julie, is it OK to make a long rectangular box like open shelf on the wall just above where the headboard is to put mobile phones, diffuser, small items etc or its not a good feng shui?
Hi. That's considered as bad feng shui (bcos those things might fall on you - from what I remember). Maybe you can put the cabinet/ open shelf on the side wall? (not the wall where the head of the bed is). If your stuff on the side wall fall on you, at least they won't fall on your head.
Not good Feng Shui Jenny- you need to solid wall to support restful sleep. Anything behind, below, above the headboard will affect the solidity of the support. Hope this clears it up!
There are some great bedroom designs in this vid. I can't wait to watch it again to pause and really study each one to hopefully find a few ideas that i can implement in my bedroom. Thanks so much!
From outside of the US, 3x3 bedroom is small. Although in New buildings, it's very common.. My bedroom is 25sq meters...quite large, but not so much, for an old French house. 🙏 Thank you Julie..
Great timing! I’m renovating a bedroom, and I went with an upholstered bed as you suggested. However I’ve heard that the upholstery could be hard to keep clean. Any tips? Scotchgard?
If you choose a performance fabric- they’re super easy to wipe down with a damp cloth. I actually just use baby wipes for our ivory upholstered bed frame
Hi Julie! I’m not sure which videos talked about draperies with a blackout feature. I’m looking to get some for my bedroom sliding patio window and was wondering if you had any particular ones you would advise looking at on Amazon? Thank you for your help.
Eclectic one for me. I've a huge soft spot for the bed and side tables, Marcel series from eq3, but the whole room just feels cleaner somehow. I dislike the fake canopy bed in the other room a whole lot and think the novelty would soon wear thin.
Julie, I am a 70 years 😅 young Grandma who has to use a BYPAP machine,a nebulizer and have to storage 30 days worth of three different ampules at a time. I also take 18 prescriptions and all of these NEED to be near my bed. How do you recommend making all these medical necessities look nice? I have a very feminine white and mint duvet, white rounded corner turned leg nightstand with an all white 3 tiered, ventilated cart for my machines and medications. I have white Battenberg lace on my 4 windows with blackout under treatments. I have thought about adding a lace removable treatment to my cart, but my machines require air flow. I don't think that I am the only person who wants a lovely bedroom, but needs extra stuff near their bed. Would you consider doing a special segment about special needs? I love your channel and have been a Feng Shui practitioner for over a decade. Thank you for encouraging us to love our homes and not just follow the masses.
Do you have a nightstand with a top drawer? I would buy a spice rack organizer and place all your vitamins conveniently located in the top drawer. You’ll be able to see them all at a glance and can even organize by day of time you take each pill! Organize by row or column. Hope that helps Valorie! Thank you for watching 🙏🏻💕
@@JulieKhuu One drawer is not enough. I use three large bins with compartments for meds, so that can refill into a daily pill containers. This involves at LOT of medications. I have figured out how to deal with these meds. The machines that I use a couple of times a day are the problems. They have tubes and are really ugly. I have started rolling up 40 feet of tubing that I only use at night, which is a PAIN! Then I roll up the BYPAP tubes, face mask and headgear and store it in a pillowcase that is the same as my duvet cover. There is so much stuff that I have two three tired carts with medical stuff. I really appreciate your suggestion, but it is a bit bigger problem. Love your channel ❤️
Great ideas! I am having trouble with our bedroom layout because there is no empty wall in our small bedroom. The corner diagonal to the door has corner windows so all 4 walls have something & it is impossible for symetry around the headboard. Closet is at the foot of the bed and one nightstand is in front of a window & the other is not.
I like the ecletic one best. I need to move my bed omto the solid wall. Right now my feet are pointing toward the door in the coffin stance. Inhad no idea that this was so disrupting. I placed it here cause tgere is floorboard heat and i have to stay 18 " away from it. I didnt think thst i cound fit my bed and dresser on the same wall, but now that ive been here close 4 months, i can see that thres enough room. Il have to get my great granddaugter to help me rearange. Thank you so much for the ideas
My room is sort of like that first blueprint. The closet and door are on the top wall with the door in the far right corner. The closet opening (I removed its door) is to the left of it and half the size of the one in your blueprint. If you stood in it, you’d have to keep your arms at your sides. One window is on the bottom wall and a second window in the “upper” area of the left wall. I put my bed against that left wall and a standing wardrobe on that top wall to the left of the closet. I have that same 8-drawer IKEA dresser on the right wall. My brother thinks I need to add nightstands on either side of my bed, but I feel like the room would be cramped. The wardrobe’s left door already opens towards the left window. I’m supposed to put a nightstand there??
First, I love your videos. Secondly I need advice. I love design, but I always struggle with my own space so I really love this platform bed that I purchased. It has sides that protrude out all over so what I did is, I downsize my king to a queen just because I love to pee so much however, it’s not functional very Uncomfortable. I deal with the auto immune disease so space is important in this bed I by myself sleeping on the edge which to takes away of the integrity of the Matress. Both the mattress store and the furniture store are willing to let me trade out so they’re willing to let me go back up to King. The issue is the bed is large and make a statement but I can only use either one night stand or no nightstands. But the bed itself like I said it does make a statement any ideas or advice?
I’m stuck with an attic-bedroom. Which my furniture is very limited and mostly need to be custom made. The attic entrance is in front of my bedroom’s door though. The slopped roof is half of my own bedroom’s wall. The other correct wall is used for my industrial sink and my fish tank rack. I’m thinking of going entirely with a foldable bed or something modular. I’m not in an appartment, so privacy is kinda useless for me. My 3 windows give me a lot of natural light. I’m probably alone to have such a weird bedroom.
Hi Julie, I would like to know if a kitchen sink facing directly the front door entrance is that really bad ? My living room and kitchen is an open concept layout. If it's bad Feng Shui I don't know how could I block the sink area...
Yes, it's bad feng shui if the sink is directly in front or visible from the entrance door. In the sink, you lose energy (down the drain), so the good energy/ chi may go down the drain. (from what I can remember from past vids). As to solutions, maybe you can put a plant or small table/ shoe rack at the entryway? Not sure, though. Let's hope that Julie will chime in.
@@kitty_s23456 if I were to put something near the entrance wouldn't that block the chi coming in? It's really hard to describe how would I implement an object between the entrance and the sink. Maybe I'll post a picture so you guys can understand
@@MzKEEKo. I remember from 1 of her vids (if there's a mirror at the end of a hallway (which is bad) is that you could put plants or furniture so that the chi meanders/ doesn't go to a straight path. I'm not sure abt a sink situation, though. It it was me, I'd put a divider (like an IKEA shelf) to somehow break the space, or a shoe rack (bcos we remove shoes in my house).
If the sink is right smack dab in the path of the door and it’s literally a few feet away, then yes- all the good chi entering the home will go “down the drain”. But if you have a nice plant in its path, omnidirectional lighting like a chandelier that can slow chi down, or even an island blocking the path- it’s perfectly fine.
Identical desks facing one another + float the short side of the desks on a wall = so two ppl working are facing their monitors that are back to back on both desks. I had this setup for years with my husband- loved how we both had our own zones without seeing what the other was working on (which can get very distracting) 😄
What if that solid wall is in North position and has a large bulkhead above it. It is better to keep it there or turn the bed around for headboard in South position with no bulkhead but next to door?
I'm from Europe. 3×3 sounds kind of small for a bedroom but I've seen a lot of my frinds with bedrooms with similar measurements usually around 3×4, 3×5, 4×5, 5×5. Bedrooms for most parents however is usually larger like 6×8 meters or the parent/s dont have a bedroom at all and sleep on the livingroom couch.
Hi. I'm from SE Asia. In my country, the building code requires that for a bedroom, one of the sides must be at least 2m. It's common to see rooms which are 2x2.5 or 2x3m. We're also generally smaller than Europeans, so it works. The bedroom in my rented flat now is 2x3m. Of course, if one is richer or has more space, then rooms can be bigger.
@@JulieKhuuyou're welcome. I've seen studio apartments (in SE Asia) which are 15 sqm (3*5 m), 20 sqm (4*5 m). Some condo units (studio) are 24 sqm (4*6 m). In Japan, I've seen 8 and 9 sqm micro apartments. One can also find very small apts in New York City, from what I've seen in vids.
Ideally with the headboard against the wall, you still have open sides to make the bed. It’s when you butt one side up against the wall that becomes a nightmare. I would shift it a few inches just to make the bed 👍 Def feel the same about daybeds Glenda! Best to leave undressed with a casual blanket/ throw folded up and draped ever so effortlessly on one side 😉
Once again, After your vidéo some Time ago, I changed my bed position, and now I have the Windows on my left and the door on my right, far from the feet...😊
A few points: * I have rarely seen a _square_ bedroom on the West Coast. They are usually rectangular, usually n x n+1 or n+2. So 10 x 11 or 10 x 12, 9 x 11, 11 x 13, etc. * Thinking back to all the bedrooms in all the houses and apts I have lived in or hung out in, I think bedroom closets are _rarely_ positioned where they would be behind the open bedroom door. When they are back-to-back like you talked about, the bedroom with the door opening on the right, as you showed, would have the closet on the left. The one exception was a master bedroom I once had where the left side had a passage to an en-suite sink and toilet/bath. * I have always naturally followed some of the feng shui rules. However, I recently found I rather like being along a window (twin bed parallel to window wall, about 16" from that wall), where I can see out at an angle while my head is against the long wall. I wonder if that is OK. Also, why would the assumption be that "energy coming through the window" is "negative"? * It seemed to me that many of the examples that flashed (too quickly) on-screen while she was talking about individual elements, were actually _bad_ feng shui layouts! * I wanted to start a new drinking game: take a drink every time she says "... _plop_ it in...". (Wouldn't "place it" be a more accurate and elegant way of saying it?)
i was saving up my whole life to buy an apartment in new york and i could only afford a 0.00069m2 that i couldnt even fit a coffin in so i bought some galvanized square steel and i borrowed some screws from my aunt, then i bought some eco friendly wood veneer and i put a bed in the corner of my room and i built drawers under it to store out of season clothes.
My problem is I live at an assisted living place and my room is everything I have. My own belongings aren't allowed anywhere else in the house, so my bedroom is also the place I play video games or have guests over. And when I ger my own apartment at assisted living, it will also be my kitchen, dining area and living room! Because there is no other place I can do any of those things and they didn't put a wall in to make a separate bedroom as it would become even smaller than it already is 😵
Taking an entire width of the room will actually make the space feel larger. It can look like custom built-ins as opposed to a freestanding wardrobe 👏🏻
. why not turn your bedroom into a living room . i think bedrooms are wasted space and no sense . reading or eating in bed is the most uncomfortable position i can imagine .
Break it up into zones- use the 10x10 measurement to lay out your “sleep” side. The rest can be lounge/ desk/ vanity… the function is up to you to decide. Hope that helps Roxanne! 💛
I live in a subsidized apartment. I only have one real wall and a tiny wall between the bathroom and doorway opening. The bathroom is in my bedroom, a large open closet open door and a window. I only have one option for the placement of my bed. It's an awful bedroom. The window doesn't even open and faces my balcony. It's very dark as I'm surrounded by high-rises on the dark side of the building. The best designers would be stumped when it comes to my bedroom.
i wish i could get rid of the queen bed I use now, but I don't own it and the owner doesn't want the bed to move from that room. (I even offered to pay for storage so that I could have more space :-:)
A 10 by 10 is not a small room in Canada we have small rooms and isn't as easy with apartments that are constructed strange. So we need to downsize to a smaller house I wish I could find a place with a 10 by 10 room. Not as easy in this market, this didn't feel helpful just made me feel less, and we're cramped into small places too many people not enough space litteraly. So it's hard to make room we don't have, not all America or Canadian houses are the same. Must be nice out in America having so much space. We live in boxes and it actually really sucks for the price.

If it is just you sleeping in bed, you only need 1 nightstand, to give yourself more floor space
@@JulieKhuu yes sounds good. I need to plan for that this summer. Indeed.
I recently got the symmetry corrected in my bedroom: matching bedroom lamps on either side of the bed. They are on side table of different heights, but I put several books on the lower table to get the height to match. Good Feng Shui directions either way for me: NE or SW.
The eclectic bedroom is my choice!
I sleep on floor futon and can store the bed in my closet! More space
You’re a DIY Queen Fiona! Those changeable headboard slipcovers are genius!! Great move to change the look up whenever you like 🙌🏻
@@JulieKhuu Yes, good to wash the covers too which was my main concern. The foam and cover are Velcroed on to the headboard and the base is tucked down between the bed and headboard which is perfect. I wanted it removable to make the bed as it’s a bit harder to make a waterbed. For a bit of luxury, I can even make a woven leather one. Possibilities are endless.
Thanks for the great small space ideas. I will 'plop' at least three of these ideas in my bedroom.
This was exactly what I needed for my tiny bedroom dilemma! Thanks for the practical tips and clever DIY hacks that I hadn't thought of before.
You are so welcome!
That’s huge for a queen bed Lydia, lots of room for a dresser, matching nightstands and even an accent chair if you need it! 💛
Some constructive feedback… I’d really appreciate seeing the room pics longer, instead of seeing you talk.
Thank you for watching and sharing, noted! 🙏🏻💕
I loved the ideas but felt the same way, the pictures moved too quickly. I went into settings and slowed the video down, turned on closed captions and muted volume. I found the video informative and liked the ideas so I just tweaked the presentation to my speed.❤
Am only hearing the talk and so fast I couldn't even see the bedrooms
Go into you tube settings and change the speed. I slow it down and turn on closed caption. Then I can watch at my own speed and hit pause as needed.
@@JulieKhuu yes that is an issue but I also need to cover the window on the roof...and i have no TV to watch youtube which has become an addiction 🙄

Thank you so much for this video it is just what I needed I'm moving into a new space with a small bedroom and you gave me so many good ideas
Thank you for watching Charlotte! Hope you’re able to implement these tips for your own space 🫶🏻
Great suggestions Kitty! Anything stored beside your bed is fair game 👍
There are some great bedroom designs in this vid. I can't wait to watch it again to pause and really study each one to hopefully find a few ideas that i can implement in my bedroom.
Thanks so much!
I included all the image credits so if you find something you love, follow the designer for more inspiration!
@@JulieKhuu will do
Great idea that I can actually use. I have a full bed but would be just as happy with a pretty day bed. Thanks!
Daybed is great for pushing up against a wall and allowing the opposite side to have a nightstand 👏🏻
From outside of the US, 3x3 bedroom is small. Although in New buildings, it's very common.. My bedroom is 25sq meters...quite large, but not so much, for an old French house.
🙏 Thank you Julie..
Ok cool Veronique! 10x10 is considered “smallish” - I wasn’t too far off then 😅
@@JulieKhuu I don't really know....
It is said, on Google 5x5meters = 16,40 feetx16,40...( ???) That's thé size of my bedroom...
@@JulieKhuu Thanks Julie!
Hi Julie! I’m not sure which videos talked about draperies with a blackout feature. I’m looking to get some for my bedroom sliding patio window and was wondering if you had any particular ones you would advise looking at on Amazon? Thank you for your help.
What a great upload! I love both bedrooms. The casual one is my favorite. Such great ideas here.💞
Eclectic one for me. I've a huge soft spot for the bed and side tables, Marcel series from eq3, but the whole room just feels cleaner somehow. I dislike the fake canopy bed in the other room a whole lot and think the novelty would soon wear thin.
Perfect for renters when you can easily swap out the drapery or remove the canopy 💛
Symmetry can even be applied using lighting, wall decor, curtains, doesn’t have to be matching nightstands if your space is tight!
Lol, I wish we could have those types of window treatments in Arizona! If you do not have black out curtains your electric bill is 800 a month!

3x3m bedroom in Australia are usually the size of a kids bedroom and study. Master bedrooms are generally bigger.
Great, so my “small/tiny” reference is right on 👍
Thank You so much, I realized I didn’t need two side tables, helping me see I didn’t need to buy a table I wanted for my fish tank 🎉
Wow! So many great ideas!
I have a 3x4 bedroom here in Australia.. it's gonna be tight to fit a partner in.. Thanks for this video
3m x is 3m becoming a bit of a norm in high density housing in Australia but have a wardrobe. Most are about 3m x 4m for the primary room.
Thanks for sharing! Can’t believe they make you stuff a wardrobe into a 3x3m 🙈
@@JulieKhuu unfortunately the sink is part of the island in the kitchen.
Hi Julie can you suggest how to decorate a rectangular office for 2 persons .
2:22 love this space
You've out done yourself again, Julie!
Thank you Wendy 🩷
Thank you for watching and sharing Carina and Kitty! Sounds like US is pretty on par 👍
I hate having a bed against the wall. Too hard to make. I feel the same about day beds really.
Awesome 👏🏻 Can you feel energy shift Veronique? ✨
@@JulieKhuu oh...I miss each answer from you. Don't know why...☹️.
Yes, Julie...I feel really différent. More secure 😊!
A few points:
* I have rarely seen a _square_ bedroom on the West Coast. They are usually rectangular, usually n x n+1 or n+2. So 10 x 11 or 10 x 12, 9 x 11, 11 x 13, etc.
Yes ! Good ideas 💡 ! 🥰🤍

What to do about double windows? What treatment do u use?
The same double rod with additional brackets that span the length of the entire window/ elevation
i was saving up my whole life to buy an apartment in new york and i could only afford a 0.00069m2 that i couldnt even fit a coffin in so i bought some galvanized square steel and i borrowed some screws from my aunt, then i bought some eco friendly wood veneer and i put a bed in the corner of my room and i built drawers under it to store out of season clothes.
"Plopped" is the theme word of this video 😉

My problem is I live at an assisted living place and my room is everything I have. My own belongings aren't allowed anywhere else in the house, so my bedroom is also the place I play video games or have guests over. And when I ger my own apartment at assisted living, it will also be my kitchen, dining area and living room! Because there is no other place I can do any of those things and they didn't put a wall in to make a separate bedroom as it would become even smaller than it already is 😵
What should you do if u have two windows and long closet then the door where would be your vocal point
If I have a small bedroom 8x10’ 100” Height, do I need a 93” closet or a 73” will be better? I don’t wanna make the room to look very full
Taking an entire width of the room will actually make the space feel larger. It can look like custom built-ins as opposed to a freestanding wardrobe 👏🏻

All the bedrooms you show are enormous next to mine.
What size are you working with Shoshana? The space planning segment was using a 10x10 sample layout
