This is weird because in the prequels Dooku seemed to have admired Anakin because of his saber abilities. The two times they fought Dooku pushed Obi Wan to the side just to test out Anakin. It would have been cool if Dooku took Anakin under his wing.
James V Kalabacas actually Dooku pushed Kenobi aside because, he viewed Kenobi as and I quote from Star Wars The Clone Wars tv series: “a worthy adversary. He could not say the same about Anakin”. So, Dooku always never respected Anakin until this point.
He also viewed Kenobi kind of like his grandson. Dooku was Qui-Gon’s master, so Obi-Wan reflected on his ability to train Qui-Gon as well. Since Qui-Gon was dead, Obi-Wan was basically his legacy.

This is why I like Dooku, he had such a great vision in various aspects. He was a Sith Lord but he used the dark side in a smarter way. I would like to see a small group of Sith very close to Dooku within the empire, I would call them the Sith Royalty, like 4 or 5 people trained heavily by Dooku. In this scenario Dooku would have to give it all every time, immersing himself more in the dark side of the force on order to maintain his position and serve as a true example of a Sith Lord / Master or the Dark Side. This guy has sooo much potential and the better part is that age doesn’t mean anything in Star Wars, So the dark side..., Hell even a strong connection to the force nullifies any age disadvantage. It would be interesting to see Dooku improve his skill even beyond, looking as an old ass lord.
General of Clones for the Jedi. Meant to only live as either a top Sith or General of the Sith.. Seems either way Anakin was ALWAYS meant to be a leader, top military commander and for greatness of Destiny as a whole Good or Evil.
Hi Star Wars Reading Club I have two topics I wondered if you would consider worthy of discussion: 1. In Legends, did Ky Narec provide an adegan crystal for Asajj Ventress' blue Jedi lightsaber or did she forge a synthetic one like Luke did in the Shadows of the Empire novel? 2. What made Obi-Wan drastically change the design of his lightsaber hilt after having two of the same design for more than 22 years?
Actually, the design of his second lightsaber was different in several details but similar in overall design to the first (look the two closely). The same could be said for his third lightsaber: different in many details but overall similar to the second one. Hell, this could even said for Luke's eventual green lightsaber. My point is that the change was not drastic, but rather an evolution over three consecutive designs over the course of peace, instruction and war.
J Sailer I wondered if it was his focus and dedication to Form III that influenced the design of his third lightsaber. For example on the first two sabers, most of the controls are up on the top third of the hilt close to the emitter whereas on his third weapon they are in a different location altogether on the hilt.
If he defeated Obi-Wan on Mustafar or if it ended in a draw (Anakin didn’t make that jump), what do you think Palpatine/Sidious would do with a suitless Vader? What do you think his ultimate plans were?
Not sure about universal plans but hed been less or not disappointed in Vader who would've EVENTUALLY almost definitely took over from Sideous by the time of ROTJ.
I agree, though I doubt he'd wait that long. I'm sure Sidious would teach him many things, mostly using him as his pawn like he has all along. But let's say that Anakin/Vader defeats Obi-Wan. Obi-Wan dies. For this let's just say that Padme was brought onto her ship and let's just say that R2-D2 pilots the ship and takes off, we know that he can, so it isn't far fetched. The main question I have is what would happen between Sidious and Vader? Would he still be General Skywalker to the people? Hero of the Republic- now the Empire? He'd obviously still look the same. I could see him being like Dooku, a Sith in secret, known only to a select few. But what would happen down the line? Sidious would obviously know how powerful he's become and know that it's only a matter of time before Vader kills him to become the Master himself, and he'd probably succeed. Sidious has to know this and has to have had some plans, I don't see him killing Vader, because he needs him to carry out his will, to make the Empire as strong and as feared as possible.
Sidious planned for Vader to be the ultimate successor and most powerful Sith Lord of all time, so he probably would've gone straight into training him, though he wouldn't teach him everything right away as then Vader would surpass him too quickly and kill him shortly after he had established the empire he had worked so hard to make. Maybe by the end of 10 yeara he will have taught Vader all he knows and by that time Vader would be twice as powerful as Sidious (has was stated to be capable of this)
Cuz he is very powerful and in battle he was a great general he defeated the seprist in many battles that he should have lost but won cuz he smart in battle and had honor in battle
Dooku's initial impressions of Anakin was not wrong. Anakin lacked discipline, and had the emotional control of a child. When Anakin became Vader, it only got worse. He would openly kill people who stood in a way, and was full of rage. Vader would ONLY obey Sidious. Like a child throwing a tantrum, Vader was obsessed with killing Jedi, and ended up being an extremely poor Sith ruler. No wonder Sidious wanted to dump Vader and find a new apprentice.
