I think Dooku believing that he was the Chosen One is my favourite thing about that character. It makes his own death to Anakin that much of a tragedy. Just imagine what was going through his mind the moment Anakin Skywalker disarmed him by removing his hands from his arms. His fate all burning down to him being bested at what he was best at, i think at that moment when he looked at Anakin in the eyes moments before being decapitated by his own lightsaber, he truly understood that he never stood a chance against one who's fate is made by the force itself. Imagine an animated series of Dooku, that begins when he was a young Jedi. We'd also see the flashback of him being discovered and trained by Yoda. We would see the way he changed over time, it would be treated as a story about someone who believed they were the chosen one….and the finale could be about his moments in the years leading up to his death at the hands of the Chosen One himself.
I think of Dooku's defeat being a passing of the torch. Dooku was once the greatest duelist, but now had been defeated for the first time. So with Dooku defeated, Anakin became the greatest duelist. And then many years later, Luke defeated Anakin, and the torch was passed to him. I guess Dooku and Anakin were never the greatEST, since Yoda and Mace Windu were considered the greatest, but Dooku and Anakin were still in the top 5 for sure.
Wasn't that fight actually manipulated by Palpatine? I don't think Count lost that fight because Anakin was stronger. Other circumstances played a role in there. But you're right - Dooku believed he was the chosen one, and that was perhaps his biggest tragedy!
Is it just me or does dooku make a great emperor, imagine him leading a great army of stormtroopers, leading the galaxy and giving instructions to darth vader, sure he don't have as much anger as palpatine but I just think a badass, rational and dispassionate emperor would be great
And we never learn why Doooku turned to the dark side, we see him as a pure evil villain even though his motivations are so similar to Anakin's. We get to see Vader by a different perspective where we don't get to see his sympathetic side
Dooku: Jedi Lost actually explains a different reason for him leaving the Jedi apart from Qui-Gon's death. I won't explain unless you would like me to, as it obviously involves spoilers.

Film Dooku, EU Dooku, DisCan Dooku, all are vastly different though the EU version is one of the most complex and fascinating characters of that universe in terms of motivation, lore, backstory and achievement, he's almost without rival.

in my opinion "bringing balance" is what Aang did in "The Last Air Bender". they talked about balance a-lot in that show and for some reason it just reminded me of star wars. imo balance is the world or universe without tyranny. but thats just my take on it lol.

This further strengthened his hatred since he allowed his emotions to control his decisions which is why the Jedi believed attachments to be bad. Furthermore, he fell because instead of accepting and learning from the darkest parts of himself, Anakin struggled to see right from wrong since he was viewing it from a narrow perspective; the Jedi's perspective. This is why he became lost because Anakin was fighting with the light and dark within himself instead of learning how to find a balance between both. As for Ahsoka, she learned to not allow the dark side to consume her because she faced her guilt and didn't allow it to define her decisions. When Ahsoka left the Jedi Order, she didn't allow her attachments towards Anakin to control her decision because she realized that she would become lost if she stayed with the Jedi. Overall, Ahsoka understood that there's another path that she can take rather than siding with light or dark which is why she succeeded where Anakin failed.
