One thing I’ve learned while watching others go through this process is that you shouldn’t put to much emphasis on a home being your “first” home with the intention of buying a 2nd home. This thought process may work for some but too many people end up settling for houses that really aren’t suitable for them because it’s their “first” home and they believe they will get better later. You never know what will happen to you financially, physically or whatever and the first home becomes your forever home because you can’t afford to get another. Gotta find a happy medium and really do you research. Selena’s leg work will definitely pay off

Great breakdown. I noticed this as well! A lot of people buying their first home with the intention of selling very interesting.
This whole process seems to be fun, but also stressful and very time consuming. But it’s amazing to see how different every apartment is and how things like floor plan, windows, colors and such things can change the entire vibe of a home. I enjoy these videos so much.
I don't live in Oregon but girl let me tell you how grateful I am to sit here & watch you through your purchasing house journey. This is so unique and interesting. I appreciate how well you elaborated on your decision-making and how open you are about the changes that have come to realize what is important for your first home! I would suggest gradual videos as the building progresses. I was an avid follower of the abandoned mansion videos and it was super exciting to see what was happening as it happened. I am so proud of you Selena, you are not even 30 yet and doing what most couples cannot seem to do in America. I know this is a stressful time but you have grown so much over the span of time I've been a viewer and I was literally crying with happiness for you. If I was in your shoes I would be elated and just so beyond proud of myself. You deserve all the happiness and good vibes coming your way and I cannot wait for the new content you're going to share, girl decorating videos, organizing videos, moving in, empty tours, this is such a huge step for you and I'm glad you are sharing this experience with us. Lucky #13!! The new build house in the up and coming neighborhood is my pick! It would be a great investment. I see it like the one in your “dream neighborhood” that skyrocketed when the amenities were finished. This one will be worth way more when the area is built up! Especially near the highway!

Selena, i feel you might get what “small” feels like if you come to the uk. The bedrooms in the houses you’ve seen will feel HUGE in comparison!
Everything is relative of course but I promise you… the uk takes the crown when it comes to tiny rooms!

I have been waiting for this video! The statement you made about how stressful the process is hit home! I bought my home last year and it was a process. My home was built by the “dream neighborhood” you looked at with the green walls. I want to see the full process in a few months and closing day! Congrats!! 🎉

(i do also love me a good before & after too so can't wait to see the finished result vs the bare bones of the house when you first toured it😊) definitely agree with you too on making a compromise on the yard for your first home. my hubby and i's current home (our first too) has more of a large concrete patio for our backyard, and though (just like you girl!) i'd love a bigger backyard for my dream home, we decided that the location, neighborhood and the floor plan of the house were more important (also if we ever wanted to sell/rent out later down the line the house is still in a "hot" area 🙏🏻) Blessings to you always beautiful! ❤

Congrats on your new home. It takes patience to purchase a home. Which ever process you can handle, I am ok with.
House number 15. Town homes are nice but they are attached which comes with some risks. So I definitely think newly built homes are the best because it's your home to decorate and choose.

Read through everything in the HOA top to bottom! If you plan to rent out later check to make sure the HOA would allow it as well.
