hi friends, I’ve been waiting to give y’all this update 💗🥹 I love to see what y’all do for work, comment below: what is your title and what experience/education did you need to get it? Do you like it!? 🫶🏽 see ya in the comments!!
Hi Selena, Great video! Congratulations on the new role ! It’s nice to hear you’re getting the opportunity to explore your career interests. DEI is definitely an area of interest for me as I’m looking to pivot into new
I work for the federal government as well. I just got a promotion that I start on Monday. I’m like you, I really wanted to start to work on my career development. Don’t know if I want to stay with the government until I retire, but it’s nice to know I can build a career doing something I want to do.
I will be starting a new job on Monday as a Human Resources Manager. I’ve been in the Hr world for 4 years now. I did not graduate college. Gained on the job experience and a boss who was super awesome for giving me a chance as her hr assistant 4 years ago 😊
Hi friend! Any advice for someone trying to break into HR?? I have long retail management background/ a lot of familiarity which general hr and recruiting practices but been on the job hunt for about a month and no luck so far😢
@@marlieeb does your current resume highlight that? You want to make sure you are putting the things you did HR related on your resume. Don’t use words such as “assist” you want to make sure you are focusing on managed, coordinated etc. also you might want to apply for jobs such as recruiting, hr assistant etc just to get in the door to get relevant “HR experience”. If that makes sense.
I work full-time at a digital marketing agency, but a children's book illustrator on the side! I went to school for drawing+painting in California. Selena, watching your videos has helped me learn to prioritize my work/personal life to become a more balanced, intentional invidual. Thank you for all that you do! 💞
Wow that is so cool, I’m sure you must love what you do, I feel like most ppl who work creative jobs, actually enjoy them 🤪💗 thann you so much for saying that, comments like this make me so happy!!
I’m a Human Resources Assistant at a Bank. I went to school for Communications. Hoping for a promotion soon! Congrats on your new role! I would love a video about how you got acclimated to your new role and how you used your skills to get a new position.
You are such an amazing person Selena ❤ thank you for being so raw and real with us . Congratulations on your new job , you deserve this and so much more ! Much love ❤
Congrats on the new job! I’m a clinical research coordinator doing research on a rare type of lymphoma for a major hospital in Atlanta. My credentials are BS in Microbiology and an MS in Regulatory Affairs and Health policy ✨✨
Congrats on the new job Selena! I bet it will be super interesting being in DEI and gaining that knowledge. Currently, I am in funemployment but finishing up my last round of interviews today ( manifesting greatness and the offer). I enjoyed watching this video during my lunch break before I prep to ACE my final interview! 💛
I think you are right about the whole job mindset. The best thing to do for yourself is figuring out what job is best for you. You go Selena! 💕 Also, you look fabulous as usual!
thank you so much 😭💗 honestly figuring out what we want to do in our careers is a lot, we should just do what we can to improve! I def need to stress less about it lol
Woot woot!! 🎉🎉 congrats on the new position. I’m currently a crisis response therapist, but am working on opening a private practice. Schooling included a bs in psychology and a ms in counseling + a national licensing exam. Wish I had gone the social work since they gave better legislation 😪 and part-time army soldier. Literally no experience needed😅
Currently, I work as an account manager at an aerospace manufacturing company and am a full-time college student (in my 40s lol). Having had my first child at 16 and my second at 19, I had to drop out of college to work and support dem kids. Getting a degree has been a dream of mine for as long as I can remember and in 2021 I finally bit the bullet and signed up for SNHU. I completed my AS requirements in Feb and am graduating 4/30, plus I'm already working toward my bachelor's, scheduled to get that in June '24. I hope (nah, fuck that,) I PLAN to someday open a nonprofit with the goal of providing affordable housing to working families. In my town there are so many homeless middle class mom's and dad's living in shelters because the rents are astronomical. Having been homeless myself at one point, I feel pulled to help do something about it.
I’m about to start a new job working entirely from home and it will be such a big change for me. I have always worked in an office environment so it will be a big learning curve I’m sure! But your videos make it seem really achievable - I’ve been taking notes from your content for wfh success 🤓 Thank you for sharing what this kind of life looks like! ✨

I am currently a Scrum Master in the IT field. I have my associates and my work experience is primarily in IT - Prod Support, Business System Analyst and Product Manager. I love being a Scrum Master and allows for creativity with the teams I assist.
Wow that’s super impressive! I’m glad you enjoy it, it’s so cool to me how what one person might perceive as hard/stressful, is another persons dream job - it really goes to show how important it is to really figure out what YOU enjoy doing 🫶🏽
I’m in a totally different field but I always thought this would be such a rewarding role! I’m an NP in family medicine and we’re currently transitioning to a new version of our electronic health record-and it’s so poorly designed that it screws with our clinical workflows. Sometimes I think it would fun to work in product and design clinical dashboards that HELP clinicians and create efficiencies

Hi Currently I’m an apprentice working for an appliance company. I’ve been in a 2 year six month rotational program. It ends in June then I’ll be a full time Software Engineer! I’m a career switcher who had the bright idea to start a career in my late 30s 🫣 in 2019 right before the “pepperoni” happened. It’s been a great experience and looking forward to starting as full time software engineer.

Oh I had to go back to school to get a degree in Computer Information Technology and self taught through a local coding boot camp
A “career switcher” I like that 🫶🏽 that’s amazing, congrats on the switch!! What made you switch to software engineering? Did you do anything similar before!?
Oh wow you put in the time!! Do you enjoy it?🥰
@@SelenaTrevino I love it! I went from working in the assembly line to being in technology for the same company. Better work life balance and I love designing mobile apps. I wish I would have made the choice earlier. But life has a crazy way of putting you where your supposed to be.
I'm a teacher looking to switch careers. Did you search usajobs? Any info on your amazing company would be appreciated! I lived in the DMV during the pandemic and worked in Fairfax County lol
Girl can you share the link to those trousers they’re SO CUTE
