What a lucky house. The restoration is not-for-profit by a developer whacking it together quick for a buck, but a young couple who want everything done properly and doing most of it themselves. Inspiring.
People honestly don't understand how MUCH insane amount of work, time and money it takes to restore victorian or older properties properly so they are future proof. Not just painting and fixing broken things, but making sure it doesn't continue falling appart.
How do you know they don't understand?
@@OceanFrontVilla3 just look at what they are doing
@@RINO92xxl if you make such accusations, you have to provide more details. At least it becomes a constructive comment for everybody and not just a negative accusatory one
@martamanfrin5675
House 700k
Restoration 200k
Your assumption is that these two have been making 80k a year before taxes for 8 years since age 17 and spent none of it.
Consider they used a modest 10k per year for living. That's 95k per year salary since age 17 each.
I think your assumption that these kids have earned everything through hard work is the one that needs proof.
@@RINO92xxl there must have been a misunderstanding here. The original comment was about the type of work they are doing, accusing they were just covering up and painting the house. In fact, the second comment was about knowledge, not earning.
That was one of the best round up videos I have ever seen. I have been watching all year and I love the sympathetic work you are doing to a beautiful old home. The narrative as the video was going was brilliant explaining why you and Louie did things. Congratulations on a great 9 months of renovation
I agree! ❤
Exactly❤
My thoughts exactly.
Well said! 🥰
Wow, what a compliment! Thank you so much for your incredibly kind message❤
I don't have a clue who this girl is but her taste in music and work ethic means I love her!
So cute and even better she knows her construction and isnt afraid to get dirty! Building a dream for her family. Let’s give Louie some love here too. Very impressive couple!
The music is phenomenal!
@sandra-jones
I asked the AI tech here to give me a list of the music and artists and I got every song title by the artist!
@vperez2965 the list is in the description.
How interesting. Are you an American viewing this? I found this folk Appalachian style to be very distracting. Maybe the lyrics captured your attention but the style did not go with the building style.
Not only is the house beautiful, and, so delighted you kept much of the original details, but more impressive is the fact you still look very happy and did not kill each other during the process
This kind of restoration is great on several levels. First, you've brought back a group of buildings to a condition that will ensure a home for you. Second, that same work will ensure the improvement of the immediate community. Third, you've learned skills that will stand you in good stead for the rest of your lives. And fourth, you've allowed local craftsmen and artisans to keep their skills alive and to pass them on to new workers, thus improving the economics of your community. I hope you enjoy your home, and continue to find projects to engage your community with.
I am at a loss why anyone would paint over that beautiful stone. So glad you were able to bring them back. Your home will be magnificent when you are done.❤❤
Yeah but then most the rooms the boarded the walls all back up again instead of keeping the Victorian original walls
Your PFP is messed up
@Izzy-m8y5i You do realize the extension is already there and already grey.... right? They bought the house with the extension.
@romeolarenzo3929 your head is messed up
@@DevTechProgrammingOnline Well it's important to have a balance of modern and old. They keep beautiful elements like certain doors, wooden elements and the orginal outside but update it so it fits modern standards and needs.
Honestly how on earth did you manage to accomplish this much work in 9 months?! Astounded. I don’t even know how I’m here watching you rebuild this, but I’m happy I am. Great work!
Lots of money from daddy I suspect
@@Pwnziillaaaa 100%. These people never have jobs but somehow they can just rip 200 - 300k out of their pockets for people under the age of 30.

@@sandrawestley4193 for how many years do you reckon she's worked full time. Do the math 😂
That steam clean / grinder result was a thing of beaty when done. Oh, and “Mystery cable” is now my favourite description of faulty wiring 😂
I love how you have recovered so many elements of the house and the colour of the windows is perfect! You have restored the spirit of the house and I really applaud you both.
Can I just say, those windows were an impeccable choice! They look incredible with the facade of the house, and they’ll be much more efficient than the old ones meaning your house still looks rustic and original while still being thermally effective! 🙌🏼
A massive investment - money, time, sweat and tears - into a piece of national heritage. Very thoughtfully restored and upgraded. I wish your and your family a great future in your new home.
Can’t believe the stonemason that’s removing the external paint isn’t masked up! 😷 Kudos to the pair of you. You’ve shown real integrity throughout this renovation and you’re not cutting corners. 👏
He probably removed his mask for the video, if he's in fact a pro.
Otherwise might not be too bright but he can lift heavy fings
No masks for taking up the rotting carpets, either. 😮
@diddums86 omg you're right. I hate carpet. It's so germy and dirty. I'm glad when people find alternatives. Especially if they have underfloor heating.
That isn't dust it's steam. Why would he need to wear a mask?
@@Adam_Lynn Well, you can still lift things
Honestly incredible. I saw the early videos and couldn't have imagined that you would make progress like this so quickly. Clearly lots of hard graft but also must have taken very competent project management too. Well done.
The amount of likes I get I will give this exact amount of money to the amazing couple🤙

Having seen a number of time lapse videos, the commentary here provided a much greater appreciation of the cost in terms of money , skill and determination that you need when undertaking this task, The next time I am in the Uk I will drive past and see it finished in all its' glory.
Sincere best wishes
You know there are a lot of older generation people out there who say young people these days are just lazy and they can't afford homes because they don't work hard enough and are too lazy. You two are defying the narrative of young people and showing a whole new generation what a bit of hard work and ambition and creativity can do! So awesome to watch your journey restoring and updating this estate home and making it your own!
all the best for 2025! Hope everything goes swimmingly for you both this year!
But i really wanna know how you can have so much money at the age of 23. How is that possible?
@ one I think they're a bit older than 23 also I think they explained this they had bought and fixed up each two separate properties. And sold for a profit that means equity to purchase this house which they got for a great deal on 450k in today's world for a home that's really good if they spend another 200 fixing up a villa and restoring as much as possible that also adds value could sell for over 1m.
@@superjules21 Who cares about where their money comes from.
This video show's a passion from a young couple to do something much of their generation don't have the backbone to do.
I think you maybe thinking this is Belgrave in London but in fact this is in Swansea in Wales and they both had their own properties to sell to finance this purchase and they have also taken out loans and been given grants to the renovation. Oh and BTW they are late 20's not early but a lovely couple.
@@superjules21this couple are the exception to the rule, maybe inheritance funds
@@menditsa much of my generation doesnt have the money to do stuff like this, we're nihilistic with reality because 90% of us within the UK will never in our lifetime be able to own a home anymore due to how rigged the system is for the upper class.
I've never been so happy watching a yt video. Seeing people tastefully modernising a house is so rare and I'm so here for it!!
You guys are so charismatic together that you make me believe in happy endings again.
Not only have I became incredibly invested in your renovation but also invested in the two of you, what a wonderful couple you make and I love your taste in music. Wishing you all the happiness you beautiful home and hearts can hold.
Your house is fast becoming your dream home. And the dream home of many many viewers. Well done.
It's fantastic to look at the 9 months of positive change. Congratulations.
I read about your channel in the comments of a Jenna Phipps video. I came. I binged. I was not disappointed. You guys are doing an amazing job!
I was actually sad when this was over! This was so cool and this is my first time being introduced to your channel. I can’t wait to see more
You two can be sooo proud of yourself already!!!
i'm in awe of you guys: SUCH AN ENORMOUS AMOUNT OF WORK to bring this grand old house to a state of the art refurbishment and repair! Also, great video! I'm looking forward to seeing it all done up and beckoning!♥
Milly, you and Louis make a great team! All the best to you both in 2025!
You guys are so Blessed to have Louis be able to do so many different jobs. Their doesn't seem to be anything he's not able to do. And if he doesn't know how, he's finds out and not afraid to learn.
Because of that yous have been able to save thousands and thousands in labor costs. Well Done you two, Your both such hard workers.
Ridiculous amount of work. You guys are my heroes!
As someone who loves old homes, I am in awe of how you two have given this home a new lease on life. The amount of work and effort you have put into restoring this home is astounding. You two should be extremely proud of yourselves.
Absolutely the best “renovation so far” video I’ve seen. Excellent job with the voice over explanations, I’ve learned so much from your channel. Can’t wait to see the finishing touches now! Happy New Year
That’s so kind, thank you so much! Happy new year to you too!
Wow,wow it is so lovely to see a young couple buying a old house and breathing such a fabulous sympathetic fresh life into it. Making new memories for your future ❤
Completely agree with you. I’ve seen a lot of old house renovations and this one kept the old essence with a very good sense of style.
I just found your channel today, January 4th, 2025. I live in America and I LOVE watching people save old historic buildings! Can't wait to see what comes next.
Me too
The building is not really that old in the UK. Now look at some of the older buildings circa 500/600 years old being renovated. This couple did a great job though❤
No idea why I find your channel so fascinating, because I’ve absolutely nothing in common with you! I’m almost 60, and two of my three kids are probably older than the two of you. Following my divorce, I now live in a small 1970’s terrace house which was tired and unloved when I bought it, and the limit of my DIY experience, apart from undoing a LOT of bad decorating, has been ripping stuff out, helping my brother as a labourer when he installed my bathroom, and laying an admittedly slightly wonky patio. But I love watching how you’re restoring such a beautiful old house, and can’t wait to see how it all turns out ❤
The work the two of you have put into this forever home project is incredible, so much respect! Thank you for including us all on your journey!
Boy you really came a long way in a short time. Thank you for sharing your journey. I love watching the progress. ❤ take care from Canada 🇨🇦
So many have followed you every step of the way. Feeling exhausted as we’ve watched you staggering up ladders with heavy loads. Been anxious as Louis smashed himself with the tool that fought back. Watching you drilling holes over and over. Laughing along at the bickering banter. Enjoying the music . I’ll miss those views from the top of the scaffolding. Thank you for sharing your journey.
A few months ago I sold an over 300 year old farmhouse with a thatched roof because there was so much to do that I had neither the money nor the competence to renovate the house. When I see what you’re doing, I’m more than impressed! 😍
You've done a cracking job. Well done for saving the house and being smart about how to update it without destroying the vintage feel.
Fantastic condensed view of the last 9 months! Your narration was very enjoyable
Thank you so much! ☺️
Wow! Beyond impressive. You have really been meticulous in both covering your renovations, learning and embracing the process and in the work itself. Love seeing this recap.
You two are working at a good pace. 🎉
WOW! I was putting off cleaning my living room today after the holidays and couldn't get myself going! Can you guys swing by and help?!
Of course I'm kidding (as I live in Chicago usa!) but you have inspired me and can I say ... BRAVO to you and your crew! Truly amazed at your dedication and very hard work.
Can't wait until the interior decoration of this quite beautiful home you have saved! ♥
I’m so very impressed with you both. At your age it had been so drilled into me to never take risks I would never have dared to tackle something like this. How exciting to see how far you’ve come! Thank you for the comprehensive update.
You are the perfect people to have purchased that home. Nobody else would have honored the original structure as you have. Well done!
Younger generation working hard on their forever-home - I enjoyed it alot. Nice music too.
its great to know youtube recommendation work sometimes and reveal great videos - your music taste is amazing and kept me from skipping through the video 🤣

Am so impressed with you both..what an amazing job you’re doing. You’re the embodiment of the saying no pain no gain! You’re both not afraid of hard work that’s for sure! Also what a great sympathetic restoration you’re doing. Looking forward now to seeing your interior design choices.. congratulations so far. You’ve really rescued this house - it’s in good hands.
Love all of your videos, this is quite an accomplishment. Congrats! Louis is the construction Stud!💪
I’ve watched every video that makes up this recap but still found it absolutely fascinating and enjoyable. It really captures the vast amount of work the pair of you have completed. You make a lovely couple and Millie your perfect English I could listen to all day long.
This Texan is blown away how beautifully smart you have secured the support /inner guts of the house so that there are no issues in future. Great kudos for your work and detail to really important issues of a grand structure. Yes it will be a bit more fun once the rooms are designed and made complete. I liked the music you put this video to, it's a bit country western sounding somewhat like our liking is here in Texas. I love historical buildings/architecture and I look forward how you will do each room. God's Blessings to you both.
We talk almost every day about what you're working on and I see the progress first hand when I visit, but I don't think I fully appreciated how much you've achieved in such a short time until I watched this video.
I'm so impressed by your hard work, enthusiasm and determination and I'm very proud of you, my gorgeous, talented girl, and equally proud of Louis. 🥰xx
Congratulations you guys. Love seeing young people with a mission and vision for their lives. Great video and excellent commentary Milly. Can’t wait to follow your progress. Hello from Vancouver Island Canada.
I would love to see a running budget. How are the finances going and where have been the biggest surprises been?
They wouldn’t know, their parents sort the finances 😂

@@the5thdimension432 Or the won the libertarian weirdo lotto (bought bitcoin in 200x) or inherited a big whack of cash, or did the grind at an investment bank (which requires family connections and wealth) for several years until they accumulated enough to do it themselves after a very early retirement. Check out Gary's Economics for an inside view of the high finance world. Though it may also be that they and/or their families are in the trades given the comments about renovating houses before. No small number of tradespeople in the US have made out like bandits buying distressed property, fixing as a side project to their main business, and then renting/reselling, but they appear too young to be far enough along in that method of accumulating that kind of wealth.

Right? Couples of twenty-year-olds having a fun project, but couldn't possibly finance all of that themselves, especially as they seemingly are doing most of it on their own, meaning they're not even working / getting paid.
Looking forward to watching your progress in 2025. Great video.
millie, your commitment to country music cracks me up. ♥️ proud to have you as a cowgirl.
Especially given her posh accent!
What a monumental task you have started on!! Fantastic!! Looking forward to see further development. You just stay in there and the end result will be worth every penny and sweatdrop..and bruises...and twisted arms and legs.
That was an amazingly entertaining whirlwind of a recap Milly! Now that I’ve caught my breath 😮 I must commend you on your excellent taste in music as well. Does TH-cam give out awards? You so deserve one. Looking forward to what transpires in 2025. Love and admire you two dearly 💖
Wow! You and Louie have done a ton of beautiful work in just a 12 month period. Really well done‼️
Pls keep sharing your progress! 👍👍
Sooooo much work, but so heart warming to see such young people who understand how important it is to preserve old structures and the history that goes with it, rather than letting it go to ruin and replacing it with modern buildings…I love this couple and their perseverance.
You should be so proud of yourselves. Dedication and hard work by a young couple these days is rare.
You guys are amazing! They say home renovations end a lot of relationships. You guys will be together forever after this!!
Thank You for taking us along.
Ich bin begeistert. Es ist wirklich beeindruckend was ihr bisher geschafft habt. Grüße aus Deutschland.
Wow! So impressive! Thank you for saving this lovely historic gem.
Happy New Year, Milly and Louie! I have been following your renovation journey. Your dedication to restoring this old house to its former beauty is admirable. Watching this recap, I am blown away by the massive undertaking you two got yourselves into! Wow. You should be so proud of all that you accomplished this past year. I wish you the best of luck as you continue the work in 2025. Have a ball now that you've FINALLY gotten to some of the FUN stuff!
I have now watched dozens of these big restoration videos on old houses and this is by far the best. Just the right amount of detail, you explained the process and the work and showed it well. Not too long or short. Then, even better, you didn't suck the life from the house, but you added so much character back into it that it had lost and restored so much damage so it can remain beautiful for another hundred years. Amazing work.
The music choice for the video is everything!
Came here to say this!!! They always use the PERFECT music!!!!
Me too! I'm a bluegrass fan anyway... I'm from Kentucky in the US & this sounds just like our mountain music. I loved it! 😊
This was so exciting to see in one video. Great music too ❤
Well to see 9 months worth of reno in 40 mins was just as exciting as it was back when we saw you doing it all in the first place, give yourself a pat on the back for such love and devotion to your beautiful family home to be, i can't wait to see the colours you choose for each room, oh and happy 2025 to you both ❤
Awsome! Thenk you for sharing. I've enjoyed the video very much. Can`t wait to see the rest of the renovation.
Trust fund has definitely taken a hammering with this renovation. Nice to see the old place getting a new lease of life 👌🏼
Love this content. Great to see young people getting stuck in and doing such a great job. Clearly not frightened of a bit of hard work. Good luck to you.
I had already followed on for most of these projects but still enjoyed watching the recap. Amazing to see how much you’ve achieved since March!
It is AMAZING ALL the work y’all have had to do!!!!! Removing the pointing and re-pointing, that looked like such a Huge job!!! It all looks Great and the room with the large windows, is that your bedroom? That is such a lovely room and with a fireplace!!!!
The windows are stunning!
