I went free to play this year before deciding to sell the game after two weeks. Didn't even buy the $1.34 packs from my EA access for the cheap 85 elites. Still won some H2H with my scrub 80 ovr team.

Man that’s nothing compared to what happened to me... I play CB in career mode so I’m locked on 1 character, it’s a close game with about 2 mins left of the third quarter. We have the Chiefs in a 3rd and 16 situation so I send the blitz. We get to Mahomes right as he throws which forced him to throw out of range. The receiver didn’t even catch the ball and it went out of bounds. So normally it’s 4th and 16 right? Not in this case, out of no where the game just gives the Chiefs a 1st and 10.... I’m checking the replay to see if maybe he caught it then dropped it or something but nope the ball didn’t even touch the receivers hands and they get a 1st and 10, I couldn’t believe the bullshit. I literally sat there for like 5 minutes taking it all in... no 4th down conversion, no punt, the game LITERALLY just gave them a 1st. Luckily we still won but that’s why I won’t be buying Madden until they improve gameplay
You could take the color away and speed this up, add some funny music and it's like a 1920's comedy film. Sad thing is EA are still the ones who are laughing.

I quit madden several years ago for this exact reason. The game was so much better a decade ago. Now its not worth half what they demand for it and i’d pass even on that.

That's why they force the ultimate team mode on people to gain back what they want off the product as opposed to letting the game sell itself . It's built so that you need to purchase packs to make their account bigger . Programmed that way the ultimate team mode is . Plus Madden 16 was also trashy . I played for less than a week and deleted it off my Xbox one . I shouldn't have even made the purchase at even $1.75 it's that bad . Main reason why I got rid of the game and left it on the shelf to rot is because I did a season with my own self as a running back . I put up record breaking numbers my first year . Than the second year the game randomly shuts down every single run play even the ones I was averaging 20+ yards on . Madden is always a middle of the road type game . You be better off just playing Madden 2005 and calling it Madden 20 after updating rosters. It also requires a license to the content. Once you refund it even though it's still downloaded if you try to open it, it will say you dont have license to this content or that your license is expired.

I saw this coming 15 years ago back in 2004 when EA brought the NFL rights so that they could be the only publisher creating NFL football games. This buy-out forced the NFL 2K franchise to cease production which gave EA a monopoly over NFL games with no competition to keep them in check.

EA Support is just a bunch of contract resources working out of a call center in India - if you've ever had to deal with them, you know that they have zero clue about the games they're "supporting" and are just going off a script at all times. If the solution to your problem isn't in the script, they'll do what they did to this dude and just push you off on someone else. The fact he managed to get a refund from Sony is nothing short of a miracle.

Worked for PlayStation before , EVERYONE gets a ONE TIME courtesy refund for digital purchases . After you use that one you'll never get a refund for simply not liking a game if you play it .

I use to work for PlayStation tech support, which is likely who they had to go through and in instances like that it really just depends on who you get on the phone. A person that is also a player and sympathizes with you will help you, and stickler would have given him the ringer.
The other day I was on the opposing teams 4 yard line and threw a pick in the end zone. The player took a kneel down so the ball should have been on their twenty. I call my play the computer calls its play and then they line up on MY 4 and get a touchdown!!
Out of curiosity. Do Developers contact you for help with football games? Seen lot of your videos and it seems like a huge advantage to have your input on other football AAA titles even if they're not licensed.
Madden 19 has the same bugs. Even worse is when I was clearly down after being tackled the ball comes out and the other team recovers it. Did a replay and was clearly down on the ground before ball came out. Did a challenge and lost it. They need to fix these bugs

This needs to go viral asap, Madden 20 needs to have the same uproar that Star Wars Battlefront 2 has upon its initial launch. Games needs to be out the box ready to play, not needing 20 patches and fixes. Good to see they got the money back.

Traded my copy in for $35, bought a new Nintendo Switch V2, with that Gamestop trade promo. I love it... Anyway it's a shame Madden isnt screwing it up there too, i would have wanted a Madden in the style like 2013 or 2015 on the go on Switch. I'll just play Tecmo Bowl from NES Classics. Honestly I urge other people who are dissatisfied like I was to put their foot down, demand a refund or just not buy this game. (Did the same with Pokemon Go & other games on the app store and the message got across.) My history: Been playing Madden since 1995, M98 was my first PS1 game that I played lots and forced me to get good because my mom could only afford a greatest hits title...Continue through the great years of 2003 - 2005, 07, 08 '10 etc. My point is if you been playing the series as long as me, if you loved what it once was, it's time now to let your voice be heard to the devs and tell them that THIS isn't acceptable, that taking multiple steps backwards each year to get EA to throw us a small bone like the Pro Bowl for a full price AAA title isnt acceptable anymore!

I had a situation madden to me during face of the franchise last night but did have anyway of sending you the clip! To make it as simple as possible I was running down the sideline with a blocker in front 1v1 with a cpu defender chasing from the side and my guy just stopped running with me and allowed the tackler to get me.
In tecmo bowl, Bo jackson literally ran circles around the entire defense, ran for 1,000 yards in a single game, and nobody ever complained about that, much less requested a refund. Everyone just had fun with tecmo bowl....best game ever!
Wow that is crazy. I have gotten a few refunds on Steam but never PlayStation. I always hear they will bar you from purchasing anything if you are not careful.
PlayStation revamped their refund policy about two months ago after so many people demanded refunds for Anthem. The new policy leans heavily in favor for customers. When Destiny 2 was officially delayed. I got a message from PlayStation that I had the option to cancel my preorder for the upcoming DLC. I know getting a refund on a preorder and a game you already played are two different things but they both fall under the new refund policy.
Obviously the best Madden made so far. Sure it’s not perfect, few things are but it’s fun and actually exciting. Remember it’s $60 not $600. All these people feel so entitled it’s sad. Relentlessly bashing this game to the point of anger and obsession.. what a waste of time. Give it an honest chance before you hate it b4 you play it.

The only way EA will ever make a good Madden game is if we stop buying it and their sales decline. I for one am not buying Madden 20 or any Madden again until they get their shit together. I just had a similar experience with Madden 20. On one of the challenges. Was 6 rushes and a rushing touchdown. I was up by three and fumbled on last play. the AI recovered and ran back 80 yards for TD. However, The AI pulled a Desean Jackson and dropped the ball before crossing the goal. But, still was given a TD. And, with 0 on the game clock I could not even force a challenge (Even if you could under 2 min).
Major credit to Sony, cares about its loyal customers.

This year I did not purchase Madden 20 for the first time after getting Madden for more than 10 years straight. The game is about glitches not true Football. We as consumers have to force companies to listen to us and give players a great game. Missing a good Football game!
Just don't buy EA games, problem solved. Done it for years and my gaming experience is great.

I saw this coming 15 years ago back in 2004 when EA brought the NFL rights so that they could be the only publisher creating NFL football games. This buy-out forced the NFL 2K franchise to cease production which gave EA a monopoly over NFL games with no competition to keep them in check.
This is why Madden needed Game day and NFL 2k, until other competition is brought back I'll never buy Madden again.
Nothing will change until people stop buying the game!!! I haven't played a madden game in 5 years, it's hard not to, but until the cash stops flowing in, they wont change a thing!!

EA Support is just a bunch of contract resources working out of a call center in India - if you've ever had to deal with them, you know that they have zero clue about the games they're "supporting" and are just going off a script at all times. If the solution to your problem isn't in the script, they'll do what they did to this dude and just push you off on someone else. The fact he managed to get a refund from Sony is nothing short of a miracle.

I use to work for PlayStation tech support, which is likely who they had to go through and in instances like that it really just depends on who you get on the phone. A person that is also a player and sympathizes with you will help you, and stickler would have given him the ringer.
The other day I was on the opposing teams 4 yard line and threw a pick in the end zone. The player took a kneel down so the ball should have been on their twenty. I call my play the computer calls its play and then they line up on MY 4 and get a touchdown!!

Madden 19 has the same bugs. Even worse is when I was clearly down after being tackled the ball comes out and the other team recovers it. Did a replay and was clearly down on the ground before ball came out. Did a challenge and lost it. They need to fix these bugs

Yeah, now that this is out, I wonder how many more they will grant before a statement comes forth saying no refunds will be given. Not many others will occur is my bet. You know what this garbage reminds me of?? Microsoft and the Xbox 360 debacle. I had one of the first run machines and it red ringed after about 30 days. Once the heat was put on they started replacing them. I went through 8 of them.

I have been playing madden online since 06 and was ranked top 100 in mut in 15 and 16 but the last madden I bought and never played was 18 I have even harassed ea on there social media for years and have gotten blocked or removed comments they dont give a shit about people who want quality game play pretty sure EA's motto is there's a fool born every second

If you're a falcons fan like me and watch every single game you'll know that the tackling by the falcons defense on this play is actually extremely realistic. Props to EA Sports for that immersion.

Traded my copy in for $35, bought a new Nintendo Switch V2, with that Gamestop trade promo. I love it... Anyway it's a shame Madden isnt screwing it up there too, i would have wanted a Madden in the style like 2013 or 2015 on the go on Switch. I'll just play Tecmo Bowl from NES Classics. Honestly I urge other people who are dissatisfied like I was to put their foot down, demand a refund or just not buy this game. (Did the same with Pokemon Go & other games on the app store and the message got across.) My history: Been playing Madden since 1995, M98 was my first PS1 game that I played lots and forced me to get good because my mom could only afford a greatest hits title...Continue through the great years of 2003 - 2005, 07, 08 '10 etc. My point is if you been playing the series as long as me, if you loved what it once was, it's time now to let your voice be heard to the devs and tell them that THIS isn't acceptable, that taking multiple steps backwards each year to get EA to throw us a small bone like the Pro Bowl for a full price AAA title isnt acceptable anymore!

I had a situation madden to me during face of the franchise last night but did have anyway of sending you the clip! To make it as simple as possible I was running down the sideline with a blocker in front 1v1 with a cpu defender chasing from the side and my guy just stopped running with me and allowed the tackler to get me.
This is quite mild compared to the BS scripting you find in FIFA 19

In tecmo bowl, Bo jackson literally ran circles around the entire defense, ran for 1,000 yards in a single game, and nobody ever complained about that, much less requested a refund. Everyone just had fun with tecmo bowl....best game ever!

I’ve gotten refunds on madden 19 and 18. If it’s digital, I had zero problem. Madden 18 was refunded in full for me 4 weeks after I bought it.
I hope more dissatisfied customers do this. It could cause a storm.

Wow that is crazy. I have gotten a few refunds on Steam but never PlayStation. I always hear they will bar you from purchasing anything if you are not careful.
PlayStation revamped their refund policy about two months ago after so many people demanded refunds for Anthem. The new policy leans heavily in favor for customers. When Destiny 2 was officially delayed. I got a message from PlayStation that I had the option to cancel my preorder for the upcoming DLC. I know getting a refund on a preorder and a game you already played are two different things but they both fall under the new refund policy.

Obviously the best Madden made so far. Sure it’s not perfect, few things are but it’s fun and actually exciting. Remember it’s $60 not $600. All these people feel so entitled it’s sad. The only way EA will ever make a good Madden game is if we stop buying it and their sales decline. I for one am not buying Madden 20 or any Madden again until they get their shit together. I just had a similar experience with Madden 20. On one of the challenges. Was 6 rushes and a rushing touchdown.
I was up by three and fumbled on last play. the AI recovered and ran back 80 yards for TD. However, The AI pulled a Desean Jackson and dropped the ball before crossing the goal. But, still was given a TD. And, with 0 on the game clock I could not even force a challenge (Even if you could under 2 min).
This game is a fucking train wreck the NFL should be absolutely ashamed of themselves if they allow this exclusive license to continue
