You should take a look at fumbles. I'm sure you've probably seen this in this game and in past games, but whenever the ball is on the ground all the players spam the same animation and don't pick up the ball. Its just a massive cluster of ridiculousness and makes me cringe everytime I see it. I've also had a few scenarios where my players don't even react to the fumble, they just kick the ball out of bounds.
My personal favorite is when they somersault and recover the ball at the same time 😂 I've never ever seen anyone recover a fumble like that irl. Idk who's idea it was to put that animation in but they are crazy.

Super scripted. In 19 I'd throw the ball to my WR, who had a window, and then the DB would immediately start the INT animation and my WR start the DB blocking animation before I even highlighted my player to go up for the ball. Already had this happen in Madden 20!

That’s probably the most annoying thing to me in this game the corners make more of an effort to catch the ball than your wide receivers do, it’s not even at least a jump ball situation where they both go up you’re literally just giving the ball to them. I was playing in the Super Bowl. Computer throws the ball to the back of the endzone my corner swats the ball (ball literally didn't touch the receiver at all) it was called a touchdown and I wasn't allowed to challenge it.
I honestly haven’t bought madden yet because of these videos I’m someone who plays online only an I’m competitive not trying to enter any tournaments just like a good game but this is definitely not a good game so far it’s crazy that all pro 2k8 on an old console is even able to be compared to Madden 20 but this is definitely an eye opener
FBI Agent I agree it’s still fun. The group tackles are bad. I play franchise w a few friends. We will try bumping up tackling, hopefully it helps cuz too many missed tackles so far. But, I like the way it feels overall. Safety play always needs improvement. But so far still fun. Peeps are spoiled. Don’t buy it if you can’t enjoy it for what it is. A game.

I think it's been stated before, that Madden needs to be completely stripped down and rebuilt from scratch and we have all come to the realization that EA is simply NOT going to do that! So every single thing in this video will be in Madden 21, 22,23,24,25,26 etc. They are simply piling on to an already horrible foundation!
I haven't really stopped, I just haven't bought a new Gen system because I'm never at home enough to try and invest in a high def television and also buy the new systems. But from outside observation, I feel the same as you do. Its seems technology is doing this across the board. Movies have the ability to pretty much do anything these days, so they focus on how good it looks and resolution. what not, but all the small things like story and writing are mediocre. Phones are improving the camera and other hardware changes, but older phones still have better features and functionality. Video games are getting better with graphics and what not, but the games are a lot shorter and don't have much repeat playing value. Past iterations are arguably better almost every time. You feel like your time was wasted waiting for the next game to come out because you think, new system, the game should get better. SMH

There’s two things I want to say about football gaming 1. We need to have competition cause if not the these companies are not going to care about gameplay to much 2. I know this is a Madden 20 video, but I was playing Madden 19 yesterday, 4th quarter with a bit over a minute and a half left (playing against CPU). I’m down by 6 points, and run a Hail Mary play. I have my TE slant left, and see him way up field so I bomb it to him, whether he would’ve caught it or not is beside the fact... ball is coming in and looks good, and my TE being taller than his defender and the Safeties and Corners has a good chance of catching it. I push Y for him to jump up and grab it and while he begins the jump animation and the defender on him begins his animation to try and swat the ball, both players get sucked back from about the 25 or 20 yard line in their end, ALL THE WAY back to past mid field on my side of the field, while doing their animations still... some of the dumbest shit I think I’ve ever seen... I would’ve probably uninstalled, snapped the disc and threw it out right then and there if that happened in an online game. Fuck Madden yo I’m never buying another one! EA is a buncha bums..
On point! That levitation is quite frequent. I recorded one in the trial version right off the bat. And gang tackles are rare along with gang tackles. I did see one where my runner was going out of bounds and you have the trailing LB jump on his back to help conclude the tackle. Other than that I really don't see any.
Yall both sound dumb af when literally 2k6 and other sports games had cleaner animations, more features in the game, and overall smoother gameplay in games that came out in 2006. The reason why madden is ass now is because they have no competition so they can keep shoveling out the same garbage and force you to either play it or not have a football game and because they literally make all they're money on that dumbass mut mode. They make on average $800 million a year just in that game mode and then sell you the game with even less features than previous games. Dumbasses keep buying it and its literally spread the almost every game in the industry now
Ryan, could you make a video about how the CPU doesn't know that they're supposed to kick a field goal before halftime/end of the game? Twice now it's happened where the CPU I'm playing literally won't attempt a field goal even if the game is tied 30-30 with 3 seconds left and they have the ball at my 12 yard line and they have two timeouts. They literally will let the clock run out to go to OT. It's happened twice now, and it's also happened once TO ME when playing QB1 mode, as in the game simmed to OT and (because I don't have control over coaching special teams and defense in QB1) and I checked highlights; you guessed it, no attempt at a field goal so we lost the game.
To me it feels like Madden 20 on All Pro cheats. I fumble once every game while CPU never fumbles, I get called for Facemask once a game, CPU never does

There's so much player clipping in this game! It makes it very hard to play it! Madden will always be trash unless they clean up their collision detection & player physics. The sad part is they player clipping cleaned up for the most part in Madden 16 & it's regressed ever since...

bro I literally had this happen to me on an online game, I swear once your ball carrier is in a truck animation or in a hurdle animation or whatever it is, you are just completely unstoppable until the animation is over, once I was in a stiff arm animation and I had 2 or 3 defenders literally fly over my head and the other defenders just fell over once they breathed on me. This game is an embarrassment to football. Just imagine what the club championship crap is gonna look like 😂😂. Imma lmfao when I watch how bad it is.
I remember in Madden 09 when there were late hits Madden 09 was probably the most aggressive in terms of penalties, wish they got back to that especially in season mode and animations/commentary to match it
I just watched my LBs let a reciever not only run right through them, but they both froze and stopped moving. I stripped sack Derek Carr and watched von miller very slowly get up like the play is over even though the ball is live on the ground right next to him. I played 1.25 games and after these things happen I deleted the game and I'll never play it again
Yep, so many issues. Even worse than last year...which is unbelievable. 19 was a huge drop off from 18. Now, 20 is not a HUGE drop off, but it is still a drop off.
One of my biggest problems is they make amazing players in the nfl (Mahomes, Kittle, DK Metcalf, etc.) WAY worse than they are in real life. Like for example: Tyreek Hill is one of the fastest (if not THE fastest) Wide Receiver in the NFL. Almost nobody on any defense can guard him. But in madden, EVERYONE can guard Tyreek. Even a fckin 350 lb defensive lineman can. That’s RIDICULOUS!!!!! They nerf good players in the nfl and make them even with each other just to make it “fair” I get that if every play no one can guard Tyreek, but make it at least SOME plays Tyreek blows past all the defensive people guarding him ffs. (I used Tyreek Hill as an example, but there is plenty more.)
The enforcer is a SLIDING animation. The slide is hyper speed. There is a speed boost given to blitzing players as well. LBs Zone defense looks horrible too. Especially the deep middle.
I rented the game on Redbox this weekend...I got 2 full days and nights on this game, outside of some small minor details like the the lighting is better, the jerseys and helmets do pop out at you a little more and of course the x-factor players, it's pretty much the same game..... And this whole notion about the "Gameplay is light years ahead of Madden 19" is false. At one point last night I played 1 half of Madden 20 and then on purpose I popped Madden 19 back in just so I can see feel the Gameplay difference. Let me tell ya, the only difference I TRULY felt were the QB's on Madden 20 are a little less erratic with the ball then the QB's on Madden 19. Other than that, it felt relatively the same.....Madden 20 might be slightly smoother in gameplay but nothing that makes me say "Oh yes 20 is light years ahead of 19" nope....it's not....and let's not forget Franchise mode is basically the same..... So my conclusion is I'll stay on 19, with my Giants franchise (I'm in 2022) and wait until Madden 20 is available at a good discount price. I REFUSE to pay full price for relatively the same game save for some minor tweaks here and there......

I was playing in the Super Bowl. Computer throws the ball to the back of the endzone my corner swats the ball (ball literally didn't touch the receiver at all) it was called a touchdown and I wasn't allowed to challenge it.
I honestly haven’t bought madden yet because of these videos I’m someone who plays online only an I’m competitive not trying to enter any tournaments just like a good game but this is definitely not a good game so far it’s crazy that all pro 2k8 on an old console is even able to be compared to

I agree it’s still fun. The group tackles are bad. I play franchise w a few friends. We will try bumping up tackling, hopefully it helps cuz too many missed tackles so far. But, I like the way it feels overall. Safety play always needs improvement. But so far still fun. Peeps are spoiled. Don’t buy it if you can’t enjoy it for what it is. A game.

Madden 20 and 19 is 10 times as a whole (gameplay wise, presentation etc), worse than all maddens before it!

I think it's been stated before, that Madden needs to be completely stripped down and rebuilt from scratch and we have all come to the realization that EA is simply NOT going to do that! I haven't really stopped, I just haven't bought a new Gen system because I'm never at home enough to try and invest in a high def television and also buy the new systems. But from outside observation, I feel the same as you do. Its seems technology is doing this across the board. Movies have the ability to pretty much do anything these days, so they focus on how good it looks and resolution. what not, but all the small things like story and writing are mediocre. Phones are improving the camera and other hardware changes, but older phones still have better features and functionality. Video games are getting better with graphics and what not, but the games are a lot shorter and don't have much repeat playing value. Past iterations are arguably better almost every time. You feel like your time was wasted waiting for the next game to come out because you think, new system, the game should get better. SMH

There’s two things I want to say about football gaming
1. We need to have competition cause if not the these companies are not going to care about gameplay to much
2. If Madden is going to be the only NFL game AGAIN going into this next console generation, then I hope they really focus on gameplay and graphics since they’re going to be dealing with new technology because it’s bad enough the gameplay is trash every year in this console generation but now it’s like with this years madden the graphics are so bad, it needs to be on last gen consoles.

It's good to see Ryan Moody is still at the football game breakdowns. I gave up on Madden in 2016 and haven't played since and I really dont miss it. I do miss the breakdowns and comparisons to 2K football games. My favorite franchise was killed off but it still lives on due the my guy Ryan. Love it.

I know this is a Madden 20 video, but I was playing Madden 19 yesterday, 4th quarter with a bit over a minute and a half left (playing against CPU). I’m down by 6 points, and run a Hail Mary play. I have my TE slant left, and see him way up field so I bomb it to him, whether he would’ve caught it or not is beside the fact... ball is coming in and looks good, and my TE being taller than his defender and the Safeties and Corners has a good chance of catching it. I push Y for him to jump up and grab it and while he begins the jump animation and the defender on him begins his animation to try and swat the ball, both players get sucked back from about the 25 or 20 yard line in their end, ALL THE WAY back to past mid field on my side of the field, while doing their animations still... some of the dumbest shit I think I’ve ever seen... I would’ve probably uninstalled, snapped the disc and threw it out right then and there if that happened in an online game. Fuck Madden yo I’m never buying another one! EA is a buncha bums..
On point! That levitation is quite frequent. I recorded one in the trial version right off the bat. And gang tackles are rare along with gang tackles. I did see one where my runner was going out of bounds and you have the trailing LB jump on his back to help conclude the tackle. Other than that I really don't see any.

The reason why madden is ass now is because they have no competition so they can keep shoveling out the same garbage and force you to either play it or not have a football game and because they literally make all they're money on that dumbass mut mode. They make on average $800 million a year just in that game mode and then sell you the game with even less features than previous games. Ryan, could you make a video about how the CPU doesn't know that they're supposed to kick a field goal before halftime/end of the game? Twice now it's happened where the CPU I'm playing literally won't attempt a field goal even if the game is tied 30-30 with 3 seconds left and they have the ball at my 12 yard line and they have two timeouts. They literally will let the clock run out to go to OT. It's happened twice now, and it's also happened once TO ME when playing QB1 mode, as in the game simmed to OT and (because I don't have control over coaching special teams and defense in QB1) and I checked highlights; you guessed it, no attempt at a field goal so we lost the game.
In Madden 17 my O-linemen would sack my quarterback and tackle my rb for loss. It was just them colliding they would actually tackle them.
To me it feels like Madden 20 on All Pro cheats. I fumble once every game while CPU never fumbles, I get called for Facemask once a game, CPU never does
So what do we do now, cause I'm tired of signing petitions. How do we get ppl to listen and stop buying Madden?
This is the most convincing video I've seen yet. I still booted up my copy of Madden 17 this year because preseason is really the only time I have the urge to play football games, until 2K comes out again. But sheesh, really glad I skipped it now.
There's so much player clipping in this game! It makes it very hard to play it! Madden will always be trash unless they clean up their collision detection & player physics. The sad part is they player clipping cleaned up for the most part in Madden 16 & it's regressed ever since...

bro I literally had this happen to me on an online game, I swear once your ball carrier is in a truck animation or in a hurdle animation or whatever it is, you are just completely unstoppable until the animation is over, once I was in a stiff arm animation and I had 2 or 3 defenders literally fly over my head and the other defenders just fell over once they breathed on me. This game is an embarrassment to football. Just imagine what the club championship crap is gonna look like 😂😂. Imma lmfao when I watch how bad it is.

I just watched my LBs let a reciever not only run right through them, but they both froze and stopped moving. I stripped sack Derek Carr and watched von miller very slowly get up like the play is over even though the ball is live on the ground right next to him. I played 1.25 games and after these things happen I deleted the game and I'll never play it again

One of my biggest problems is they make amazing players in the nfl (Mahomes, Kittle, DK Metcalf, etc.) WAY worse than they are in real life. Like for example:
Tyreek Hill is one of the fastest (if not THE fastest) Wide Receiver in the NFL. Almost nobody on any defense can guard him. But in madden, EVERYONE can guard Tyreek. Even a fckin 350 lb defensive lineman can. That’s RIDICULOUS!!!!! They nerf good players in the nfl and make them even with each other just to make it “fair” I get that if every play no one can guard Tyreek, but make it at least SOME plays Tyreek blows past all the defensive people guarding him ffs.
(I used Tyreek Hill as an example, but there is plenty more.)
The enforcer is a SLIDING animation. The slide is hyper speed. There is a speed boost given to blitzing players as well. LBs Zone defense looks horrible too. Especially the deep middle.
I rented the game on Redbox this weekend...I got 2 full days and nights on this game, outside of some small minor details like the the lighting is better, the jerseys and helmets do pop out at you a little more and of course the x-factor players, it's pretty much the same game.....
And this whole notion about the "Gameplay is light years ahead of Madden 19" is false. At one point last night I played 1 half of Madden 20 and then on purpose I popped Madden 19 back in just so I can see feel the Gameplay difference. Let me tell ya, the only difference I TRULY felt were the QB's on Madden 20 are a little less erratic with the ball then the QB's on Madden 19. Other than that, it felt relatively the same.....Madden 20 might be slightly smoother in gameplay but nothing that makes me say "Oh yes 20 is light years ahead of 19" nope....it's not....and let's not forget Franchise mode is basically the same.....
So my conclusion is I'll stay on 19, with my Giants franchise (I'm in 2022) and wait until Madden 20 is available at a good discount price. I REFUSE to pay full price for relatively the same game save for some minor tweaks here and there......
