    This is the most comprehensive video on basic backhand techniques I've come across. As a young player a long time ago I had managed to avoid playing backhands. 🙂 But now, a much older returning player and a lot less mobile, I'm having to learn backhands. So a big thank you to you both. 👏

    I appreciate the tip you give on the backhand I have finally figure out why my backhand clear shot wasn’t reacting from one back line to the other until now I used to only clear my backhand shot only 2/3 off the way leaving my opponent the perfect opportunity for a smash

    I love this video. I have been playing badminton since I was 14 (2011) and now I'm 25 in 2022. My badminton game has been slightly lagging as I struggle badly at single since I don't know how to properly hit a backhand shot. This video showed me the technical skill and action needed for the right shots and after practicing for 2 months, my backhand play has improved significantly. Thank you guys so much for the helpful tutorial !!!! Keep up the good work and have fun !!!!

    I have been playing badminton now for just over 2 years. Because In my club we play almost exclusively doubles I have avoided playing any rear court backhand shots. The good that came from that is I tend to play more aggressive overhead shots on my backhand side by getting to the shuttle earlier using a forehand stroke. But now I’ve handicap myself, pretty much In my doubles games if I’m late to a backhand side shot, it’s a winning point for the other team because my backhand clears are pathetic and my only chance is to play a tight slow backhand drop which also is quite pathetic. I’m finally starting to work on a better backhand shot to get my team out of trouble when I’m hitting late on the backhand side.
    Thank you for the great tutorial. I appreciate all the hard work on your videos 😃

    • @BadmintonInsight
      @BadmintonInsight  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hopefully it's a good thing - you're so quick onto your round-the-head side that you didn't need a backhand! 😜
      But thank you! Hopefully you can start to develop your backhand from our video!

    Good lesson. Thanks. As many recreational players do, I have had a long gap in my life before picking up a badminton racket again and I had zero clue about backhand clear and drop. My assessment is although video lessons are great, these shots are most difficult to perfect unless you try a lot and miss a lot. My basic take, stay relaxed and hit these shots as much as possible. Try backhand clear if you are the back player in friendly doubles and the shuttle gets lifted on the deep backhand corners.

    After a long standing shoulder injury, my backhand has really suffered. This video has been absolutely fantastic in understanding the mechanics of the backhand shot, but can you also comment on muscle strength and whether or not the shoulder muscles should actually be involved at all vs leveraging more of the wrist and fore-arm muscles? Maybe I have been getting it very wrong all these years.

    In the Footwork section, you say to land the last step at the same time you hit the shuttle. But in the examples by yourself and the other pro's you land the step right before hitting. This makes much more sense to me, as you can use this straightening motion from your step through your body and to propel your elbow upwards and begin the backhand stoke with way easier power.
