Giving you an insight into all things BADMINTON!
Hi Badminton Insight, I just want to say thank you! Really enjoy your content and the amount of love and effort you put towards these videos.
That's so kind of you, thanks a lot 🤗🏸
@@BadmintonInsightI love watching your videos ❤❤❤
Indeed! They are awesome
@@Watermeloncat123 thanks 😁
Definitely guilty of #3, especially the whole scenario of the 'eyes lighting up' was too real 😂
Thank you for these, fellow The Office US fans ❤
Also the question has to be asked, Gregg and Jenny who are your favorite characters from the show?
Haha 😂 Good question! We like Jim and Pam 😆
It is amazing how you guys consistently come up with very relevant and informative vids. I honestly feel there isn't any channel out there that does as good of a job in that field of coverage. Please keep up the great work and ideas on how many of us "plebs" can better our game since there are many of us that do continue to want to improve our game, but lack the opportunity or resources to get quality "instruction and feedback" outside of online resources like TH-cam etc. 🥰
Thanks!
Thanks Peter, much appreciated 😃🏸
Thank you Greg and Jenny! This video is timely as I had just came back from a badminton session pondering on the repeated mistake #1 that I made. Will try your suggestion!
Your videos are amazing. The more I play badminton, the more I notice issues in my games. Every time I search for solutions, your videos come up. Thanks a lot for the content.
This video couldn't have been released at a more perfect time. Also, I found the 'Don't stand too close to the net' tip particularly useful. My doubles partner told me to just stay at the front so he could have more room for smashing and I often got hit in the face lol. Anyway, love your videos! Keep making badminton more popular❤
I just LOVE LOVE LOVE being at the net in Men's Doubles !! It's so intense and quick... but you also have to keep your composure and focus. It's really my type of game that I prefer to play, and to coach ! Cheers from Montréal, Québec, Canada
(Speaking of Canada, I was in Calgary at the beginning of July to watch the Canada Open (World Tour Super 500) and I saw that Greg and you were the 8th seed ... but you didn't play ?? :( I was hoping to see you 2 in action! )
Thank you Jenny & Greg! You two always seem to know what I need. ❤ Please do a video on brushing the shuttle at the net.
You’re very welcome 😃 Have you watched our ‘2 types of net kill’ video??
@@BadmintonInsight Thank you! Just watched it. ❤️
@@BadmintonInsight😢
Congratulations on you marriage guys , can you guys include a short video of your marriage in the upcoming videos ❤❤
Thanks! We'll see what we can do! Haha
One thing which I truly love, is Greg's imitation of a newbie. And missing certain shots knowingly in your videos. Its fun to watch! Looking forward to him playing doubles as a newbie for 1 whole game haha
🤣 hahaha thanks
This is such an awesome video. Practicing this requires a lot of focus but helps to win many points on the amateur level without hard hitting or grinding. Thank you very much and thanks for coming to Singapore! Hope to see you at another tournament soon.
Thx, I've never been comfortable at the front as I can't intercept shot. Now I know where I should stand. This is going to help a tons!!! I always been too close to the net
Another brief but useful video as usual. Thanks a lot.
Thank you Jenny and Greg for your ongoing insights. Do you have a video for playing with plastic vs feather shuttles?
This channel so soooo sourceful for a beginner like me. The explanations are so easy to digest too. Can't thank you guys enough, Jenny, Greg🎉🎉🎉❤
Thanks for the great video as always! These tips will certainly help reinforce what I teach my students as you are able to explain it much better than I can. Though I feel that point number 6 can be a video on its own due to how much depth actually goes into it during a real game.
Hi Greg and Jennie, certainly recognise a lot of what you are saying in my current game. I am having to learn to play left handed after partially rupturing my pectoral tendon. Still focusing on having my feet in the correct position and often find myself not focusing on position as you so clearly point out. Thanks again.
Extremely useful & informative video. I make all these 6 mistakes. Will work on these. Cheers!
All 6? Wow! Hopefully you’re now equipped to work on them 😃
Yey! I was waiting a lot for a new video from you guys. Thank you for this a lot!
Hopefully it was worth the wait 😃🏸
@@BadmintonInsight Indeed it is. A bit guilty from a number of those you mentioned, especially the racket positioning and staying at the front of the court. It makes hitting rear-court shots significantly harder. 😅
Hi Jenny and Greg! Thanks for this really useful lesson! I'll try to fix these mistakes in my play
A great video and great tips again!! I also miss your signature (subtle) humor in the middle of the video :D #2 and #6 have been questions in my head for long. I somewhat figured out #2 by myself and ask myself to feel safe to stand more mid-court, but #6 is definitely a big, big help!
Very good tips that I need to implement in my games, tip number 6 happens to me way too often and I end up feeling like a sitting duck. I absolutely love tip number 3, makes me laugh every time. I always see the shiny point and scuff the shot. Great video, excited for the next one 🏸😄
That's a great video on every aspect we guys commit mistakes in Doubles. It's been so helpful ❤❤ thanks Greg and Jenny. Hopeful to see you soon playing in BWF super series
Thank you guys .. amazing tips .. pls let us know more on net tap or net kill as it is very important skill for doubles 😊. ❤from Mumbai, India 🇮🇳
Hey! I've got a question regarding keeping your racquet up while being ready. I'm 203cm tall (6ft 8) and it's more difficult for me to take the lower shots, even though I'm bending my knees. What do I do?
play basketball instead 👌🤙👍
I'd say only keep your racket up when you're in an attacking position. You taking the lower shots = your opponent hitting from above the net so they're attacking, in which case you should keep your racket low
@@Leandro-tb3xi already there.
@@theodoreandreas5547 makes sense.
Yes we’d agree! You definitely won’t have your racket up as high as smaller players!
I'm playing mix doubles next month! This helps me a lot
Good luck 😀
Excellent video! Another one in your library I will revisit multiple times to keep improving my game - thank you 🙌
That's great to hear, that's why we spend the time making them 😀 Good luck! 🏸
Thank you so much so helpful ❤
Glad it was helpful!
Another really helpful video. My badminton group was having this exact discussion a couple of weeks ago, so perfect timing 👍
The eyes lighting up and seeing the glory😂😂... That is me every time
Haha, we all have experienced it at some point 🥲
I was just facing problem 6 yesterday. Couldnt decide where to move when my partner was under pressure in the back court. I was also standing too close to the net. Thank you for this.
Hope the tips help you in the future 😃🏸
I really need this because i was hitting the shuttle into the net for a kill, twice!!! thank you for the help.
Thanks for video. I’ve shared it with my mates. Looking forward to a meet and greet at Bukit Jalil in the future
This is excellent advice ! I found watching pro matches to be super helpful !
Hey sir I’m from India I gain lot of knowledge from this video and followed you since last month I really want you both make a video of mistakes in mix doubles I also plays mix doubles❤
Thanks for the tips!
Yep, guilty of at least 3 of these! Great video as always!
Thanks Darren! 😀 Even if people just take away 1 thing from the video to help them improve then that's a win for us! 🏸
Extremely guilty of #3 🤣 when Greg said "your eyes light up; you see the glory", I felt that hahaha. Anyway, great content once again. Thanks for the insights! Hopefully I'll be able to remember and apply these to my next game. 👍🏻 cheers! 🏸
Video suggestion : Playing Badminton regularly is really hard on the feet/ankles. Probably, single is even more hard on than double on this body part. What do you wear in your feet beside the shoes. Do you wear two pairs of sock or just one? Do you wear support sleeve? or do you tape your ankle? or nothing? Do you sometime have to use a badminton shoe with more support due to to much ankle stress instead of performance shoe for example? If so, how often per year? Now, this isn't in the video suggestion anymore, but do you prefer thicker grip handle or thinner grip handle?
By the way, I've tried you tips tonight and it was totally effective!
Always learn something from your clips. Great stuff.
This is so far best and useful of all your videos i have seen. I might have missed few though :P . Good work.
I'm still impressed how good you two making all videos although im sure I have watched them many times 👏
Like the way Greg feeds the shuttle. Can you do a video on hold to feed shuttle for short practice of different variety? Thank you
Nice video as always. I'm a victim of #3 mistakes. I stand close to the net because I have a slower body reaction and have slow movement to the front. If I were to stand abit further back, 80% of the time i am unable to retrieve the net shots. :(
You are 100% correct and explained it so well!
I come here and watch everything in detail but the problem is I forget everything when I enter the court 😂😂
Great video and advice. Wish I could do a coaching session with you. Love the practical tips and structure
Hey greg and jenny, fantastic video. I often find myself standing too close to the net waiting for that drop shot to kill it but then i cant intercept any shots so when i stand a little bit back just like whats shown in this video but now if the opponent does a cross drop shot i find it difficult. Is anticipation the only fix?
Thank you soo much for the info coach, it's really helpful for who understand it 😁👍👍👍
Happy to help! 😆
Awesome tips! Thanks Badminton insight.
Thanks for the informative videos.
I have question on backhand serve. Is it legal to rotate or change body direction from right to left or vice-versa during the serve.
Great video, I've improved a lot when playing doubles with my friends.
Also quick question, do you think I should buy the victor ryuga 2 over the ryuga 1. Why and why not? since a lot of racket comes down to skill and preferences I'm not sure. My offense and speed on the court is great, but still trying to work on defense. My current racket is a head helix racket. Which, in my opinion, is an alright racket to have at my age. I'm 13 by the way.
Genuinely great advice! thanks for the video!
5:50 He's waiting for his pizza delivery.
Thank you for this informative video
Glad it was helpful! 😁
As always good advice and video. Can i ask. When will we see you both in tournament action?. Been watching last few on tv but not seen you in them???.
Useful as always 👍👍👍
Thanks 😊
Make a video on high ceiling badminton courts and low ceiling, how shuttle will react differently and how to adopt. Thanks
Will it be possible to hve your insights on badminton injuries for beginners related to their form ? Eg: shoulder pain/ elbow caused due to bent arm while smashing or clearing.
No 3 for ne , the number of these I crash into the dreaded net😢😢😢, great video I’m now subscribed , love from Australia ❤
Thank u from a great video as always
Yay glad you enjoyed it!
This is a great video for me to reflect on! 😂 thank you!!!
Excellent video with the demonstration, Greg & Jenny.👌🏸
I will try (because these mistakes have become a habit, and habits don't change easily) to apply these suggested changes in a game. Keep up the excellent work.😊
Thank you 😃 Yes absolutely they won't be easy to change but if you think about each of them when you're playing, maybe 1 at a time, then you will make positive changes over time 😊🏸
@@BadmintonInsight Yeah, that's a good suggestion. Thank You😊🏸
Chicos... muchas gracias por los Tips, saludos!
Very helpful vidéo as usual 😁
Hi badminton insight, this video was useful but can u make a video on foot work on doubles frond and back
Is there playlist of your videos i can watch in order to practice and learn as a beginner?
On one of your rotations you explain that the person at the front should be ready to rotate for the cross court lift after your partner does an 'under pressure' smash. I find a lot of the time they do a straight block as I am rotating for the cross lift and then my partner and myself can't get to the straight block. What should I/we do about this?
Nice video guys!
small question: which software did you use to make the court drawings (for example at 2:14)?
I must say I have learnt a lot from your videos. However I have a question to ask.
What to do if my partner's smashes are mostly flat but with high velocity!! I find the returns difficult to intercept.
Thank u smm. Before i was an intermediate with other intermediates but they had played doubles before. I was scared to try so i learnt and tried later after they got so good in doubles. I tried and tried and they used to fight for partners. They never chose me bc they didnt want to lose. Thanks a lot, bc after watching u and listening to ur advice, ive gotten better than them and now they fight for me😂
edit- haha jenny was watching the office while practicing. i should do this
Awesome demo
how to anticipate where to do diretional split step because i will read the game well but i cant anticipate where to split step
Hello Team . How about video on massage gun you use and how do you use it? Or also after gene recovery video?
I'm struggling to do a cross court smash. Even when I try I always have to lessen my power or just do a clear. Have you guys done a video about that yet?? That would be so helpful ❤️🤞
Watching all the way from the Philippines btw🇵🇭
Your video really help me bro love from Nepal ❤
Never seen a smooth sponsor plug in than this❤😂
Great video as always :)
I learned a bit
Very helpful video 👍
Hey Badminton insight I want to ask if you can make a video on heavy training racket.
Penjelasannya mudah dimengerti. Terima Kasih
I love your videos! can't wait for you guys to win a title !
I lost earlier on the tournament so sad but i know losing gives you experience still sad though
Best video I have vere watched. Thank you
Hi Badminton Insight, do you guys know what i should do with a court shoe whos sole has been worn away? do i have to replace it and if so where do i get a replacment sole
Yeah many shops have sports soles! 😄
Plz tell me how should be the height of the racket to pick up shuttle?
Below knee or above knee
Can you do a badminton cross court clear in depth guide will appreciate it 😊
Please do video for backhand drive serve
Thank you ❤
Nice analysis of common mistakes 👌🏸
Glad we could help!
Thanks for the help
You’re welcome 😃🏸
Fantastic information
Visit philippines soon... You are a inspiration to most players here
That would be a lot of fun! 😁
@@BadmintonInsight looking forward
Great one. I fall about here "or they haven't watched enough of our videos" 😂😂😂.
You shared a lot of great information. But is it possible for an amateur+ player to apply this in the real game. A lot of us play badminton for fun but we want to improve but we mostly have time and setup to play only games with others
Super helpful video
Both me and my doubles partner are guilty of this, even though we have training😂
Greg and Jenny, most of the people from my club (including myself) are all huge fans!
Thank you sooooooooooomuch ! I won a tournament because of your tips !
Congrats! It’s not just because of our tips though, you’re the one who’s applying them 😃
Excellent video - one of your best yet and, er.... guilty on 5 counts!😊
Thanks Drew! 😁🏸 Haha, well it’s a good starting point to recognise them… now time to fix them!!
