      I was not able to see the Proper positioning of thump, I am been playing in intermediate level. If we are using the top most part of the thump should we use more power there or held freely

    Since a kid i learn badminton myself. Met a coach that cant play just have spare time and taught me dirty badminton. My technique are all mess up then i met national level coach and everything was a mess. Especially my backhand. This video taught me things i never heard about backhand it is sad really. I learned badminton with proper coach only for short time and i have learned badminton by myself for 20 years. The only thing that is good with me is only my experience and forehand. My backhand was so bad i often hurt my elbow. Now i am thankful for this video coach i can fix my backhand. Thank you. T_T.
    Edit: something is not mentioned here and i have experienced tennis elbow because of wrong backhand technique for a long time. Never snap your elbow!! Dont make it too straight to do backhand. Slight bend when doing it will save your elbow.

    excellent video. Backhand clears are one of the hardest things to teach. I've spent 3 sessions on this, and still can't get it down. It's really 99% technique and timing, 1% power

    In my opinion, the back hand clear is the most difficult shot to master and have consistency in. Takes a lot of practice and patience to get it right. Well explained by this coach.

    I learnt this naturally. Learning shots like these might make you a good player but one have to develope there own technique and come up with versatile shots and compete to succeed as there is lot of competition out there no matter how hard you train

    • @gvnd
      @gvnd 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Pardon me.. I have not heard your name winning any champiomships.. You could not withstand the competition or did not train well?? Sir.. Stop commenting on everything.. What coach / guru does is imparting the basic skill.. After that it is the student who has to chisel it or hone it.. Even a mighty Lin Dan has a coach.. Just remember that.. Even Arjuna had a Coach.. Grow up sir.. I don't know what intent with which you wrote, but it came out to be a disaster..

    • @srajkiranreddy
      @srajkiranreddy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@gvnd you are saying u don't know with what intent I wrote that...then u don't even qualify to comment...just move on. So I should be winning championships to share opinions here? How many did you? Who are you by the way? Well.. never mind.

    2:54 Hello, you are right. However, another channel I watched "Swift Badminton" argues that if you can take the shuttle that high for backhand, then you could of done overhead forehand shot instead.
    Therefore, you should practice your backhands for when the shuttle is lower.

    • @Jajaa9163
      @Jajaa9163 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is actually incorrect, he said elbow higher than shoulders, but the contact point can be low in general. For example if you receive a flick and you run back then you can clear with a backhand stroke but you would not be able to overhead it if you are late.

    can the backhand clear by the demonstrator deliver the bird from baseline to opponent's base line? cause I don't see any body turning movement, big swing movement, simply raising the elbow above the shoulder and execute a whipping of the racket

  • @xtremexn

    Its all bout timing. If your timing is right, the shuttle will fly. Regular training is required. Even during play because the speed is different. Need to get the swing timing correct. On the sweet spot. Do not rusg or panic. Else, it will not fly.😊

    He didn't mention the most important point. You have to keep your grip loose and relaxed until the contact. Why? Because this stroke generates power from the racket flex and to allow the whip like dynamics you need a loose grip. The position of thumb changes with how far the shuttle gets behind you, if the shuttle is far beyond you, change to pan-handle like grip.

    • @boliussa
      @boliussa 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      DUDE woman obviously re not gripping too tight. But he's talking about things specific to backhand clear. Maybe you need to be told that about the loose grip in every single badminton video but others don't. Also when you get to needing a panhandle grip at the back, nobody does a backhand clear.

    • @sonamtamang5582
      @sonamtamang5582 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@boliussa so you suggesting a panhandle grip isn't recommended for a late backhand clear from deep corner?
