  • Welcome back to Abby Normal Garage! In this exciting episode, we embark on a mission to revive a classic 1980's Honda 3011 Riding Mower. This mower has seen better days, but we're determined to bring it back to its former glory.
First, we dig the mower out from its long-term resting place and give it a thorough inspection. Then, we install a brand-new battery to ensure it has the power it needs to start up. Next, we tackle the carburetor, giving it a complete rebuild to restore optimal performance.
But that's not all! The deck of the mower has seen some wear and tear, with dents and cracks that need attention. We meticulously repair the deck, ensuring it's sturdy and ready for action. Once the deck is fixed, we reinstall it, making sure everything is aligned perfectly.
Finally, the moment of truth arrives as we fire up the Honda 3011 and put it through a rigorous test run. Will it perform as it did decades ago? Join us and find out!
Throughout the process, Abby Normal, our loyal Cane Corso, is by our side, supervising and adding some fun to the restoration journey. If you enjoy vintage machinery, DIY projects, and the satisfaction of bringing old equipment back to life, this video is for you.

Looks like Abby is feeling better! That is if this was filmed after where she had been given some medication. That little mower is so cool, great job rebuilding the carburetor and fired up and purred like a little kitten! I remember those old snapper mowers that were similar to that one,my grandparents had a couple out in Southwest Ranches in South Florida when I was growing up. Anyway, great work and great video!

The ending was filmed afterwards. I started on this video about a month ago with the carb, the deck was before we went to va beach. Her and Louie got sick being together. She started getting sick shortly after putting the deck back on. The ending was shot Monday on my lunch break. It’s been rough these past few weeks with business trips to Texas, catching up from that, building the hitch for back the blue, and getting ready for the wheel horse big show! I’m glad this one is going back to dad. He rebuilt the motor years ago. Tried to give it
To him last time he was up here with a trailer. He rambled on about how he’s got enough crap. That’s why it sat so long anyway! Keeping my stuff going is hard enough sometimes!

I bought one of these today, awesome to find your channel! I hope mine does not need nearly as much welding but you do some awesome work!
Question, I have the manual 3011, and mine does not seem to have the "transmission release lever" does yours?
Also if you want to sell me the part of the bagger that connects directly to the deck that'd be cool, though I know that isnt possible!

This one is the hydro it has a little lever on top of the transmission. I’d imagine with a manual you could put it in neutral and it should roll. I’d imagine the chute for the deck can’t be to hard to find. The 3009, 3011, 3013 and the Harmony used the same set up. The bagger fills up pretty quick. I don’t your yard size but the times I’ve mowed with it I’ve just used the normal side discharge deflector type chute. You need that for sure if not these are hell on windows! Enjoy your new machine!

The only manual online that I can find it is very bad; spelling mistakes and it did not specify if transmission lock was specific to Hydro or not.
They really want me to buy the tech manual lol
Have you had any issues with your choke by the way? Mine barely moves and looking at the air control assembly I don't really see how it could. Any chance you could snap a picture?

@@nathanielramirez8997 you might have to adjust your throttle cable. The choke is actuated by over advancing the throttle. I have a manual page that shows all the linkages. How can I send it to you?

I ended up buying the shop manual! I wanted to ask: my blade is bent too, do you have a suggestion for a replacement?
      @@AbbyNormalGarage
It has procedures for everything including adjusting the clutch to be within their "lines"

@@nathanielramirez8997 I ordered the Honda one years ago. They are pricey. I have the box in the attic if you can’t find a part #. Only thing is I won’t be home until Monday . You might be able to find aftermarket by searching the part #
