00:01 Gut health is crucial to overall well-being
02:22 Dr. Pal's personal journey of prioritizing his own health
06:36 Doctors are not taught about nutrition in medical school.
08:43 Eating a balanced diet is important for gut health.
13:15 Intermittent fasting following circadian rhythm improves health markers without weight gain.
15:37 Implementing ancestral diet and eating habits can be beneficial for gut health.
19:49 Having good gut health means having the right amount of gut bacteria.
21:57 Good gut bacteria is important for smooth and healthy digestion.
25:59 Eating bajia (a type of food) can lead to cravings due to the dopamine hormone released by gut bacteria.
28:03 Unhealthy eating creates a negative spiral, leading to cravings and hunger.
32:01 A good detox should be simple, sustainable, and enjoyable.
34:04 Respecting your body is important for a healthy life
37:45 Stay away from processed and ultra processed foods to avoid toxins.
39:52 Gluten intolerance is becoming more common in India, particularly among the Punjabi community.
44:01 To maintain a healthy gut bacteria, prioritize good sleep, regular physical activity, eating fermented foods, and consuming high fiber. Avoid antibiotics and unprocessed food.
46:13 The video highlights two key issues with gut bacteria and digestive issues.
50:14 Treating sugar, salt, and fat as bad may not be accurate; it depends on moderation and perspective.
52:15 Packaged snacks with added sugars are not healthy for gut bacteria
56:37 The main discrepancy in our diet is the high amount of carbs and fats compared to protein.
58:42 The video discusses the presence of palm oil in packaged food and the high calorie content.
1:02:59 Added sugars in drinks should be avoided.
1:05:05 Valencia oranges are not the company's brand name, but a type of orange available in the US.
1:09:01 Respect your circadian rhythm and start the day early with sunlight
1:11:08 Getting sunlight in the morning has scientific evidence behind it and helps wake up your active cortisol hormone.
1:14:47 Appreciate the small things in life
1:16:52 Sleep quality and gut bacteria play a crucial role in weight loss
1:21:00 The importance of limiting snacking and promoting meals
1:22:52 Alcohol disturbs circadian rhythm and affects hormonal balance

I had severe gut issues to a point where I was thinking my intestines and stomach is injured which was not true. When my anxiety/stress got better, I am amazed how my gut is back to normal. I can't imagine how happy I am.
Edit: Since people are asking how I fixed my anxiety: Well, I didn't have any idea my gut issues are due to anxiety. I realized when I came across Shan Kosaam's TH-cam video where he explains his anxiety journey. After watching few videos of him, I realized I have to focus on treating my anxiety not my gut issues. Upon treating anxiety, my gut (and other issues e.g. no appetite etc) issues got normal itself. I would highly recommend to watch him.

@@akshitbansal6309Please note that this is my personal opinion and not professional medical advice.
      1) Go visit a Gastroenterologist and make sure that you don't actually have an underlying medical problem.
      2) Certain emotions (such as anxiety, stress, fear etc. ) will negatively affect your gut microbiome and can even cause issues like gastritis or IBS . If you suffer from chronic stress (like me) , you need to gain control over your stress. Here are some tips for that :
✅ Journal everyday. Write down your emotions when you journal
✅ Exercise . Move your body. Do both cardio and resistance training
✅ Sleep well and consistently. Avoid stimulants (redbull, coffee etc. ) around 5 - 6 hrs before bedtime. You can also listen to relaxing audiobooks before bed. You can find these free on YT
✅ You can try mindfulness practices like meditation. These may help.
✅ Always plan ahead. For both personal and professional life. Make schedules and time tables to effectively tackle deadlines.
✅ Seek emotional support from close ones
✅ Don't be hesitant to get professional help if needed. Psychiatrists and psychologists can help further with anxiety management
      3) Once the underlying cause (stress) has been addressed, the gut will slowly heal on its own. Remember to :
✅ Eat a well balanced and nutritious whole food diet and hydrate adequately
✅ Avoid overly processed foods, especially sugary things.
✅ Incorporate prebiotic and probiotic foods. According to research, low sugar fermented foods (such as plain yogurt) is extremely beneficial to gut microbes.
Be sure to remain patient throughout the process. It may takes months for your gut to return to its original health

Many people gut also not working fine bcoz of change in geography due to migration for job study etc. Our ancestor stayed at one place for longer time. So our gene is tuned to water, food, environment. Gut dont like this change and create issues in many people. This is what I discussed with my gastroenterologist recently.

There was an Indian juice brand which tried to provide its customers with pure juices without any added sugar. This approach resulted in decreased sales because people didn't like the taste. The marketing team studied the case and realised that people actually do not care if packed juices are unhealthy as long as these juices taste sweet.

Thanks Dr Pal. Fantastic show, love your humour. I do IF and want yo do the Circadian rhythm. I used to be a late nite eater but am now able to keep the fast. However I cannot break my sleep circle which is from 2:00 am to 9-10 am. I sleep my 7 hours of sleep. It wasn’t like this always but only after COVID
    How can I change this?
Of course when I don’t sleep I’m on my mobile watching good content like yours and news. So although I’m doing one thing right the second thing about sunlight n waking up the hormones and early 30 mins exercise isn’t happening.
