'Cinema Show' musically is just an absolutely amazing performance. As Steve H. says the tune starts off as a simple love song. And then builds to something incredible. Kudos to all the wonderful musicians featuring in Steve Hackett's magically superb sounding band. From vocals, Alt saxophone, Roger's keyboards, incredibly amazing drumming from Craig Blundell with all that rhythm, the incredible guitar renditions. I loved the thwang thwang thwang machinations from the combinations of drums, guitars and all instruments towards the end which just send me. Count those 8 bars in repetition which leads into the finale.
I am surprised to read any of the criticism aimed at this group of musicians who play these songs without fault. I've seen Genesis many times with their original line-up in the 70s and l can tell you they were also fantastic together. The recorded sound is far better now though, and l think Steve's choice of each of the recent shows musicians including Nad Sylvan is impeccable. What more could you ask. Keep it up for us Steve & co. Thanks
Can't wait to see this band in at a n April 2022! Don't give up!🤗
Atlanta, April 2022!
Don't read much criticism here.
@@ProgFanification May 7 in Minneapolis. Pumped!
who is the committee that aims criticism?
Didn't really know much about Craig blundell until he graced the stage with Steve's band...but wow!...what an absolute fantastic drummer...and for steve still the best in the world...God bless you mate for keeping genesis alive...
To me, what sums up Steve Hackett is that although he could have, when he's playing the most amazing things effortlessly, he doesn't insist the camera is on him. In a lot of the old Genesis videos he's playing technically difficult and ground breaking things, and the director chose to show Peter Gabriel banging on a tambourine. And by choosing this song, he gives his loyal bandmates their own opportunities to shine. True measure of the Steve - just playing great music and being humble still.
'The director chose'... implying some 'unfairness' or 'unbalance'? Which directors? Next you'll type the typical internet go-to: 'underrated'.
To me, it’s also the fact that he is an incredibly smart businessman. Creating this group and putting it on tour would be incredibly hard. He did it.
With the exception of Gabriel, I just wonder what the other Genesis members think of his shows. He’s keeping their music alive like no one else.
A class act. So glad Steve is carrying the torch for Genesis. He has a world class band here. Craig Blundell is one of my favourite drummers too. Magic!
So strange, he walked away from Genesis and here in 2020 where do I go for that classic sound? Thanks for keeping it alive.
I have never heard a better rock drummer. Unbelievable exact with unbelievable sense of rhythm. This line up is better than the great original. Very sure. This is a world class band!!! With the new bassist Jonas Reinhold its even better.
thx Mr. Hackett, for bring the real Genesis music
That drummer is insanely good!
yah, he really nailed it here and when I saw him in Atlanta recently.
Being there live is breathtaking. The craftsmanship of all the musicians is extraordinary. I get chills.
How much of this is actually played live though? A friend, who works as a technician with all the big groups, reliably informed me that it is a rarity that bands play live in big venues anymore.
@@winstonschwarz1636 Every musician on that stage played their instruments. Absolutely.
Have seen this band 3 times. Everything is live I can assure you.
Seen them going back to 1980, and it's always been convincing Live!
"A weekend millionare" is still the best fucking line ever
My Mum used to tell me it was a saying here up North in the UK they said about the Trawler men who'd come home and on the weekend basically spend their wages on goods and booze before they had to go to sea again.
They used to regularly come into the shop she worked in and buy big TV's, Music Centres or the latest Vinyl Records.
So true
Amazing...!! the best performance ever heard of Nad Sylvan on Hackett's gigs
I'll argue with anyone that Hackett is one of the top 5 guitarist of all-time. Maybe 3.
Fantastic song - one of the best ever from Genesis - and Nad Sylvan is fantastic - so difficult to sing any epic songs sung by Peter Gabriel - and Steve Hackett, a guitar genius...I can only say WOW
Remember Steve and Peter did not feature on the long instrumental. Tony, Mike and Phil boogying through as the trio. Signs of things to come!
I have no words, I have no speech , how wonderful this is ….🫶🙃😄
I make a point of NEVER patronizing any of the companies in the ads on YT. The are now interrupting longer videos multiple times. Someone please upload these masterpieces to Dailymotion or Rumble..
Perfect interaction between King & Blundell ...with the same confidence as Banks & Collins...and that swedish bassist is really good...all are true professionals...
A year ago today (29th November) at Hammersmith Apollo. Fantastic track and performance.
Am wearing the tour T shirt today!!
Nad is a show of wonder, within a wonder called, Cinema Show.
Such fantastic music of a very nice and kind person
Realize, that this song was written and created by a bunch of kids back in 1973. They were 23 years old! Compare that kind of musicanship and maturity with most of today’s 23 year old
My favorite line is “Once a Man, like the Sea I raged; once a Woman, like the Earth I gave. There’s a little more to Earth than Sea.” Profound.
The best guitarist I've ever heard
He is excellent, but you should try Steve Rothery
Fantastic song
I always cry when I hear this song. Amazing piece. Written when the lads were about 22/23
Saw these guys in Dundee on "seconds out" tour. Absolutely fantastic night out. Hope to see again before too long.
love this song, saw this tour in stuttgart, thanks so much for your passion to your music with genesis
Le plus beau solo d'orgue de tous les temps.
Nad, coloca sentimentos nas suas interpretações.
Escuto todos os dias Steve em seus shows.
Todos os músicos são maravilhosos.
What a song and what a drummer. Fantastic
That beautifully subtility of the drummer's interpretation.
They are Genesis with Steve Hackett!
J adore je les ai vus a paris et jy retourne en 2023 trop hâte 🤩🤩
I'm seeing them tomorrow Oct 7th.................
So this is what Jonas Reinhold is up to! One of the most talented bass players in modern day. His work with TFK is/was incredible
Great cover, amazing, such a beautiful song.
Sensacional
Absolutely incredible !! It’s so important that this brilliant music is being performed. Wonderful singing !!!
Wonderful. The post-Gabriel Genesls up 'til Steve left best ever. This line-up magnificent. Great music without ego. And Nad, a new Gabriel?
Craig Blundell is a majestic drummer.
Beautiful 😍😂😮 song plus entangled and after glow
Doesn’t get any better than this.
Playing the Genesis version live versus Steve's band, I would say that Steve's Band sounds better live. The keyboards, guitars, bass and drums were awesome, and the vocalist and soprano sax were great too. A thoroughly enjoyable listen.
i love it ! paolo from FLORENCE ITALY
how precisely ! wow
This is from my favourite early Genesis album. These guys are tight. Is that Craig Blundell on drums? Yes!
They played the right notes but this had all the excitement of an Ikea coffee table.
Qui d'autre que moi avait un motton dans la gorge en entendant cette merveilleuse chanson a nouveau ?
La colonna sonora della mia vita!!!
The best of Genesis
40 anni che li ascolto e non mi sono ancora stufato :)
my favorite song..
Fantastico..!
And then there was One.
Cant wait to see the band in April in Orlando!!!!!!
You won't be seeing anything in the
states next year, unless you sort your infection rates out or get the
vaccine rolled out rapidly, April is
very optimistic even then, think you
will find the gig cancelled untill back
end of the summer sadly 😞
Its sad that Gary O'Toole is no longer in the band. He made a great duo with his voice along with Sylvan
Amazing. Thanks
Awesome!!!!!!
steve its close but nothing will ever touch that original i first heard in 73
Great, when future goes to te right path.
Best Song
Great show...I was at this concert ..thanks
Superb!
I love It!
What a brilliant performance and album this is. I'm lucky enough to have it on both vinyl and cd and have listened to it several times since the post man delivered it last month. I'm almost loathe to suggest it but I can't stop wondering if the drums would have been better if Gary O'Toole had been on here instead of the excellent Craig Blundell. Can't have been easy for Blundell to fill the seat that the magnificent O'Toole had occupied for twenty years.
As a drummer heavily influenced by Collins I tend to disagree. Blundell is closer to Phil's playful/colorful style which came to perfection with A Trick of the Tail and Brand X of course and his first blossoming with "Selling England..." Felt always sad that he didn't pursue a career as Top Tier Drummer btw. ...:(
SH and his group are the best
Fiabesco, intrigante, coinvolgente . Splendido lavoro. In una parola Genesis
Ogni volta che l'ascolto mi emoziono
Ascoltato migliaia di volte ed ogni volta brividi
Not sure if the bass improv during the finale really fits but good to hear another take. Love Steve's band version with the additional soprano saxophone!
That was AWESOME!
perfection!
Love that „FK BRXT“-sticker on the keyboard
Excellent
wooooow spectacular
Genios!!!!!!!
* * * * * genial !!!
To Be Continued...
... I don't belong here, said old tessa out loud.
Easy, love, there's the safe way home.
Thankful for her fine fair discount, tess co-operates
Still alone in o-hell-o
See the deadly nightshade grow
Genial.
Great video! First time I've heard the ending played live in a relatively slow tempo. I miss the energy from Phil's drumming, but besided that, splendid.
Grande esecuzione, grandissimi musicisti. Ovviamente Peter Gabriel è inarrivabile e la formazione originaria... beh... non è solo nostalgia!
Genesis best track alongside Dancing with the moonlit knight.
Nad Sylvan è un grande "front-man"!
Nad sings so beautifully- a special moment. Mix better on this track to showcase his vocals too.
👍👍
Love this as well as Steve and the lads but the quality is a wee bit too perfect for a live performance which believe me is a complaint I've never made before.
A bit more flowing vocals this time. Good ;)
There is in fact more earth than see.
Great group of musicians, regardless
Of whatever song they perform- not one of my favourites this one
Nad Sylvan is doing gabriel justice now. i wasn't fond of the added warblings when they done Genesis Revisited it was to distracting. but now that he has tamed that i cant fault him, brilliant, and so are the band. oh yeah might as well add steve's ok too ha ha ha.
Hardest working guitarist in music? Seems like he has a new album or live album coming out every year. Jimmy Page should take a lesson....
Harry Bosch on keyboards!
Where's the bowler hat drummer from Ireland?
Gary O'Toole left the band for personal reasons. Steve then got in the brilliant Craig Blundell, previously with Steven Wilson. Saw this show in Boston. Absolutely fantastic. Have the CD+Blu-ray on order.
So I bought a ticket for the Seconds Out Show in Antwerp.. Do I really have to wait until 2022?
I bought one for one of the UK gigs - I would have just been there, but I have to wait till October 2021. Oh well... I would have been in Belgium a couple of times already this year, but, of course, can't go for the time being. I miss it. Stay safe.
@@adolforodolfo6929 We'll have to do with CD's and Spotify. I bought a CD from his own shop last month. The one with the orchestra. It will have to do for now.. sadly. It is a great CD, though!
@@yoon1001 I was at that concert! Fantastic show!
Close enough... Nice cover
Not a cover if Steve was in Genesis!
Frank Dodich Fair enough. I wouldn't call a Jon Anderson solo performance of Yes a cover, personally. Same goes for Peter's rendition of the ' Moonlit Knight' intro on his tour with Sting.
Magfuckingificent.
Nice track - just annoying with a commercial blasting its way in twothirds of the way through...
What?
@@ElArlequin I had a commercial pop up a bit more than halfway through the track. Publishers can avoid that, if they remember to adjust the monitization options for their videos.
@@dannielsen348 Never noticed it myself. Mind you, it may be down to a certain addon to my browser! ;)
No encuentro el comentario ?
I hate to be a hater, but this version feels lifeless compared to the "Seconds Out" version. Sound quality may be better, but the performance falls flat. The keyboard solo from "CInema Show" is may favorite piece of Genesis music, and the version here does not have Tony Banks' energy. All the same notes, but not the same feel. I realize that is a subjective response, and folks will disagree. It is what it is.
Ad in 3!!!!!! :( ah well, brilliant if interrupted
Where is the personnel listed? Not so easy to find.
Roger King (keyboards), Rob Townsend (multi-instrumentation, vocals), Nad Sylvan (vocals) Jonas Reingold (bass, guitars, vocals), Craig Blundell (drums, vocals) and special guest Amanda Lehmann (guitars, vocals)
@@paulhoward4161 Thanks, Paul! 🤩
@@RonnieRocket Steve Hackett (ukulele,banjo)
@@marco69tits not to mention zither and hurdy-gurdy.
As usual..Complicated arrangements but so sweet, then..
Damn the ad. It ruined it.
the bass player is not Mike :( not the best tab parts he should play
How good this is, Steve yr band is a bit to dry dunno how but have a listening party to 4get notes and go bit groover faster just a tat
Well! AT LEAST they could have FINISHED the song, huh? Wow..... Amirite?
You mean the bit about all the supermarkets? I think they did it. Probably somewhere else on the site.
