    I’m in awe of the tremendous rail development(s) throughout the years. Take Sukhumvit as an example. In 1993, there was yet to be any construction of the BTS when I visited. In 1995, the columns were being constructed. Now, there are so many completed lines that it boggles my mind not to mention the MRT. I enjoyed this episode!

    Waiting for this line to open since 2016. No more taking a bus from Future or sitting in traffic plus finding a parking space in BKK. Just take the bicycle to the Rangsit station and drive straight into BKK. Just marvelous!!! 👍

    Just found your channel! Great work! Just a little background, the Red line is the cooperation between Thailand and Japan. So the trains are imported from Japan. It took 14 years to build. So this brought tears into my eyes. I've been waiting for so long lol. This train will run to the suburb, Rungsit. In addition to the red line, there will be 2 more trains to start operating this year (Pink and yellow). I can't wait to go home next year!
    I watched all videos on Pim's channel. Now I can start watching yours. Thanks for your review. Take care.

      Save that money, and spend it on feeding poor Thai people. How many Thais would use these trains anyway? Tickets are the most expensive in the World, considering the minimum wage. That's why people still use other forms of public transportation; e.g., vans, bus, etc.....While suicidal rate is skyrocketing, I don't care much about these trains. Not even have to mention other provinces don't have them.

      @@readwrite1815 If you're foreigners, or aren't currently living in Thailand, I can understand. But if you are Thai or currently reside in Thailand, I'm afraid there's no comfort zone at this point. Unless you're ignorance enough to praise this kind of luxury transportation system, which serve no more than 2% of the population. Also, in case you don't know, some lines, for example BTS, City of BKK extends 30 years contract to BTS without bidding process. That makes BTS monopolizes everything. That's why majority of Thai people can't afford the tickets fee. So dude, you tell me, how ignorance one have to be in order to stay comfort among all these shit? Not even have to mention people have been committing suicide everyday, due to the entire systems collapse.......P.S. I think you just see the looks of the trains + stations and you think they look pretty, right? That's the shallow way to see things. What you see is just the surface. Deep inside, Thailand is more rotten than you ever imagine.

This new train seems to go faster and farther than what’s in place in the city now, right? I mean I guess they still have some older trains being used to get out of the city with. But, something modern like the red train would be nicer. 😅

    Which one opened today? Dark Red or Light Red or both? In the video, you start talking about the Dark Red SRT to DMK and Rangsit, but then you end up at Bang Sun on the Light Red Line showing the really long stairs only (?) connection to the Purple Line (MRT). This is very confusing!
    Otherwise, I generally enjoy your videos. Perhaps you need some clarification in this one because I'm still confused if you were trying to say that both or one of the Red lines opened today, and why not show us the connection to DMK airport if it's the Dark Red Line? I understand that DMK airport may be closed right now but you would normally say that in your video also. Did I miss that part of it, why you ended up on the Light Red line?

    • @Sebernica
      @Sebernica 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Sorry for the confusion. We switched trains, I mentioned it at 07:50 but very quickly, haha. The reason is because I made another video from Don Mueang to Bang Sue which I will publish today. Sorry again for the confusion :-) Both the Light and Dark Red lines opened.

    Ah I see! This is what they were building to the west of the highway going out to Don Mueang. I wondered what it was, I couldn't find any information. I suppose since it is part of the State Railways of Thailand it passes over the current SRT right of way. There's also the northern BTS Extension, which runs parallel to the Dark Red Line to Rangsit, to the east, on the other side of Don Mueang (I will use that to visit the Thai Airforce Museum in the future - a LOT faster and cooler than taking the old Number 34 bus).

    • @lucca_lee
      @lucca_lee 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably young so you cant recall what happen in your province earlier. It easier to blame someone or something then accept the truth.
      Many governments have already tried to present the trains system to Chiang Mai but every time someone tries to hold a referendum. It got enormous resistance from people who lose their benifit if the train were ever constructed especially the local bus operators it almost impossible to do thing in there easily !
      The first mass transit line in Bangkok was heavily opposed at the begining. BKK government doesn't even invest their own money to build by themself but because of that all the investments were from private companies thats why it can be done in the first place, giving BKK people example how train can benifit them but not the case in your province you ask for the train as much what about the other ? can your local governor manage to issue a propper plan to presenf the central government?
      If you want Chiang Mai to have it, you should deal with people who don't want a train in your province first . Perhaps a big investor could ask the Chiangmai governor for a concession to build one for you. They will definately do if only it makes money and not so much mess. It really depends on the local government and Im quite sure that other provinces are more ready than yours such as Chon Buri Khon Kean Korat or Hat Yai they would have the electric train before Chiang Mai.

    It all looks so "cold." Concrete and steel. Not Thai culture or architecture at all.
    Are those metal detectors at 16:18? They are not staffed?
