Your explanation about Don Mueang Airport is correct! They will build the Terminal 3 right next to the parking building. Once the construction is completed, the skybridge from the SRT station will be directly going through the new terminal.
...that's a great plan. i was actually hesitant to try the don mueang red line because it does'nt exactly stop at the international departure terminal. i always use the A1 bus when i go there because it stops at the departure terminal. but it would be great once they start the new terminal.
such a beautiful place and nice trip! i really enjoyed the video:) thank you for sharing it's a pleasure to meet your channel and here new +1 my friend !
Loved and missed Bangkok with MRT subway is an amazing and Red MRT line is a beautiful. The couple is very good and I like it.♥️♥️ Happy weekend Mister Jeroen.
Thanks for that, it was really helpful. I had seen the construction and wondered when it'd be in operation. Cost efficiency too. I'll be on Tuesday going from Don Mueang to Shukumvit.
It's definitely more convenient than before. But I have to say going to the toilet in those BTS/SRT stations is really a challenge as they usually lock the toilets until you ask the staff for emergency use.
Very interesting! I remember the Don Mueang Airport when it was the International Airport. It had a very very long terminal! In those days there were hotel day rooms inside the terminal if my memory is working properly!
Finally MRT did it. Still waiting for BTS to enabled EMV (I heard that BTS gate already supported EMV but disabled by software.) also SRT Red Line are under the process to install EMV gate which will open this March 2022. For summary EMV contactless payment will work on : BLUE (Launched) / PURPLE (Launched) / PINK (under construction) / YELLOW (under construction) / ORANGE (under construction) / RED Line (Soon) But not sure for BTS Light/Dark Green Line and Airport Link.
Have you ever been to the Agriculture Fair? if you haven't been I suggest that you should go because It's something that 1 year it will only be held once. The event is held at kasetsart university, you should go in the afternoon to evening. It's something Thai people in Bangkok like very much.
I think once all systems adapt the credit/debit contactless payment, then we don't have to worry about different subway cards anymore. SRT Red Line will introduce this system soon.
This is exactly how New York City Subway's OMNY fare gate works, although NYC accepts all contactless payment cards including NFC-enabled phones; although they are still using their legacy mag-stripe MetroCard. It's more convenient for tourists as they don't have to bother with obtaining/loading a transit card or token. NYC is working on a fare-capping system when the same payment card is used, although I don't expect Bangkok to do fare capping as that wasn't even offered with the current fare system.
Public Transportation in Thailand is easy and clever solved, I am too old to pay all by credit card, need some overview, my son laugh at me all the time😅😅
I will try it next time I ride on the MRT. I wish there were also an integrated transport system, with a monthly pass that enables people to have unlimited rides on buses and trains in Greater Bangkok.
Saying hi from Disco Bay! I missed the beginning of the premiere but I’m assuming you can tap and go with your credit card going forward. Thanks for sharing.
Great vlog. Hopefully I can use my Halifax Clarity travel credit card, though there'll still be a fee I think. Don Muang looked good also. I wonder how late the MRT will run, as I like to take the last flight from Phuket, which gets in around midnight. I used to check into a local guest house, but this could alleviate the need.
Thanks for the video. I used a Mastercard issued by a bank in China for mrt travelling yesterday. The gate opened when I tapped the card, and my bank sent me a message that a 1 baht payment has been authorized. But that was all. I took a round trip and tapped my card when enter and exit, but until now no money has been deducted from my account.
Hey we got the same card and benefit of this card is they have accidental insurance for any purchase of your transportation and the car rental. I very Like it.
What other private info/purchase history/location data can be collected when you swipe your CC? My MRT card (unlike BTS Rabbit) does not contain personal identifying data. Everytime there is 'free convenience' offered you know you are paying for it in some other way.
Rabbit and MRT cards are registered and tied to a specific card holder. EMV card emits what is called token who is a random string of numbers and characters required for that transaction. Rabbit card does the same too, since it is also a payment card.
Dont like the idea of using your credit card is it secure ? And can you still get a mrt card ? Singapore has a better system. Where you can a transit card top it up and you can also buy food.
Debit acceptance still under developement it can be use later this year. (The reason why credit work now because it use different payment gateway route compare to debit)
Tickets 12 to 42 baht, not expensive, why would anyone want to use their credit card to ride the mrt? You will be paying more using a credit card because of the interest of the purchase. Also your information and credit card details can be easiy compromised.
Yes, these credit card payment devices on mass transit are very ideal points of hacking. I would never use my credit card at a transit station entry point. You are safer buying a dedicated transit card, and loading that card with the value you want to add to it. Do not use your credit card in these devices.
And absolutely DO NOT EVER use a debit card -- debits are ACH transactions and immediate and irreversible. with credit transactions, they can be reversed, though sometimes with difficulty. Best Option? Cash Is King!
it's so easy and everyone is happy. but they forget that it makes it easier to follow you. where you are and what time. and of course you have nothing to hide... unless you come from a protest and want to go home. there will come a time and they will be waiting for you.
Does it already work with NFC devices ? I can imagine flying through those gates swiping phone on the tap area to squeeze every minute out of the journey 😂
Yeah, but if you have to dig your phone out of your pocket, turn it on, log in, and go to the app, it's going to really slow everything down. Not everyone is carrying their phone in their hand all the time, primed and ready to swipe. So instead you lose minutes of the journey, as does everyone stuck behind one of these phone users.
Nice share, very good art system, good ride
Thank you so much for putting this together. Fantastic to have up to date info. Well done!
Just rewatched this video for my trip to KL from Don Muang Airport. Thanks for info
What a good news! Your videos are interesting and very useful! You explain everything in detail, thank you so much!!!
Your explanation about Don Mueang Airport is correct! They will build the Terminal 3 right next to the parking building. Once the construction is completed, the skybridge from the SRT station will be directly going through the new terminal.

..nice video, will try this route once they start using the new terminal.
Nice vid and THIS VIDEO WAS RELEASE ON MY BIRTH DAY JAN 29TH
Great informative one🙏🏻👍🏻
Very interesting video 👍
Awesome episode and extremely informative! I feel like I’m keeping up-to-date even though I’m stuck in Chicago.
Thanks!
Cool 😎, waiting for pink line
Really informative and much Appreciated !
Cool! I love your use of European comma.
Haha, I was not aware of that.
Thanks for the update ! Really looking forward for my trip on July
Good Update so i know if one day will come To BKK hope after no covid

Cool & very informing vlog, sorry that I have missed this premiere, enjoy your weekend, I see you had no moderators.....very sorry Jeroen.

Great idea, so much easier to use the MRT this way….
You can now use cards issued by your country and Apple Pay, “but Apple Pay is not officially available in Thailand at this time.”
I've tested this new route and the old route via the a1 or a2 bus from mo chit. They take the approximate the same time to get there.
Very helpful. I usually avoid DMK because of the lack of accessibility.
They still need to unify all those trains. Each has its own system to pay
Agree-- the Rabbit Card should work on MRT in a perfect world.
I think once all systems adapt the credit/debit contactless payment, then we don't have to worry about different subway cards anymore. SRT Red Line will introduce this system soon.

Nice video with good and useful information!
But I would never ever use my credit card on MRT, I stay to MRT card.
Public Transportation in Thailand is easy and clever solved, I am too old to pay all by credit card, need some overview, my son laugh at me all the time😅😅
It's easy Klaus. Just tap it on the machine, same as the normal card.
I will try it next time I ride on the MRT.
I wish there were also an integrated transport system, with a monthly pass that enables people to have unlimited rides on buses and trains in Greater Bangkok.
That’s great that you can use the credit card now…. Hope this will come for the BTS also
Saying hi from Disco Bay! I missed the beginning of the premiere but I’m assuming you can tap and go with your credit card going forward. Thanks for sharing.
That's correct Jim & Nenita. Very easy.
@@globaltravelmate hi wondering if revolut card works for MRT?
My hotel is on the BTS line, how do I get to the BTS line from DOn Mueang Airport via SRT and then? thanks
Switch to MRT at Bang Sue and then switch at Sukhumvit MRT station, same as Asok BTS.
We have the same premier card. I can ditch my Mrt card next time I come to BKK
Good ☺️😊
Total 1h15m for one trip?fr downtown to DM airport?right?
Hi Broo can you tell me please how long distance Bangkok city to Don mun... Airport in train how many many minutes can reach ?
Check this video, it explains it all th-cam.com/video/Q4v2snj4NpY/w-d-xo.html
Are elevators available (like for a stroller)?
hope they can use one card for bus BTS 、boat and MRT in the future😂
I hope so too. That would make it all much more easy.
New pier station which they're under construction now will have new contactless EMV gate.
What ever happened to the mangmoom card that was being developed?
Postpone and postpone and postpone again and again and again.

Good job MRT
Hi thanks for posting. Do I do the reverse if I am arriving at Don Mueang Airport and wish to go to Bangkok city? Many thanks :)
I hope all transport routes can use new payment system.
for the payment is it with the card issued from Thailand or any country?
My card is from Thailand, but credit cards from other countries should work as well.
@@globaltravelmate cool thanks :)
Thanks for this. Can i assume it operates 24 hours a day?😀
There are many people still don't qualify for credit card. Can they issued the card that can use with both MRT-SRT systems?
You can still use the MRT card. This is only an extra.
Do it have sms inform the cost to your mobile phone?
I did check my credit card statement and it only charged 1 THB. Maybe for the trial period.
Thanks for the video. I used a Mastercard issued by a bank in China for mrt travelling yesterday. Yes, same for me. Maybe it is a trial period now.
❤️
Very nice, thanks. Will foreign credit card works? or it must be a Thai credit card?👍👍
Actually I don't know. I only stried my Thai card.
Many people in group already try Europe / US credit, debit card and work just fine.
@@pingbookent Nice!
That Visa card is cool
Total Fare is collected once at the end of the day around 11 pm. Just check the statement next day for the total fare deducted.
Yes, I noticed it.
@@globaltravelmateit’s good that you show us the magic food point :) I only went to suvarnabhumi one
Hey we got the same card and benefit of this card is they have accidental insurance for any purchase of your transportation and the car rental. I very Like it.
What if you lose your token after boarding the train? Is eating or drinking allowed on the trains?
If you loose your ticket, I guess the charge you the maximum fare.
They should have used the budget of the horizontal escalators(those are useless) for stair escalators.
What other private info/purchase history/location data can be collected when you swipe your CC? My MRT card (unlike BTS Rabbit) does not contain personal identifying data. Everytime there is 'free convenience' offered you know you are paying for it in some other way.
these payments go through the equipment and system that passed EMV L1,2,3 cert.
Rabbit and MRT cards are registered and tied to a specific card holder. EMV card emits what is called token who is a random string of numbers and characters required for that transaction. Rabbit card does the same too, since it is also a payment card.
Bonus point: Buses from government-owned BMTA accepted contactless cards since 2019
Kunnen we al weer vanuit Europa naar Thailand zonder in quarantaine te moeten. Weet jij dat al
Test & Go is starting on the 1st February again.
Dont like the idea of using your credit card is it secure ? And can you still get a mrt card ? Singapore has a better system. Where you can a transit card top it up and you can also buy food.
You can still use the MRT card. This is just an extra option.
That is nice! Do you know whether it's possible to pay using the phone or not?
You can use Apple Pay.
I suppose you can’t get senior discount with credit card payment.
Strange why debit cards are not accepted, the payment system is the Wave system. When you exit the station don't you have to swipe the card again?
Debit acceptance still under developement it can be use later this year. (The reason why credit work now because it use different payment gateway route compare to debit)

Say, you pay 42bt, and add 2bt for fees and conversion. But still miniscule compated to 400bt taxi.😀
hi, the description you typed is Dan Muang. Second paragraph. Second sentence.
Thank you, I updated it.
The MRT voice miss me😪
Seems like a good way to get hacked. If I had a credit card that wasn’t very important and not my main card ,then sure . I like my MRT card

Yes Leonard. This is just as an extra. The normal services still work.

is this also applied for debit card?
No, it only works with a credit card for now.
No more credit card, just tap your phone. Anyone dont have mobile phone ?
That's a pretty big drawback!
