I shocked my husband and family when I started veiling for church and any time I would be in the church where the Ucharist would be. That included confession. Yes it's going to be an adjustment for them but just tell them the truth that this is what you want to do and do it. I've been veiling in a non Latin mass for over a year now and I am actually starting to see more women wearing them at Mass now. Who knows you wearing it might help someone else that was afraid to as well. God Bless.
My wife felt the same way as I had over heard someone say "who does she think she is"! Well finally she said to me, this is between God and myself and she continued to pray and finally she felt the call to vail all the time. After that decision others started to vail. I think others wanted to vail but like you was afraid. Bless all women that sees the importance of vailing.
My wife and I host a show on Radio Maria called Expedition Faith, and today we're doing a show on Veiling. It's really refreshing to see so many young ladies taking up the tradition of veiling again. Loved your video!
I started veiling for maybe a year ago. Also watched different youtube-videos on the subject and I just felt deeply in my heart that this was the right thing to do! Felt a strong calling and a joy in it! It was a process, and I forgot the veil sometimes. Tried different ones...Tried to sew one...felt uncomfortable in the beginning. But now I just wear a simple blue (for Mary 💙) scarf and it works fine. I have even veiled at home when we had do watch the Mass online. Really helped me to stay focused on Jesus in the midst of children and everything distubing. My main reason is to honor my Mother Mary and just be like her! 💙 Always have it in my bag so I won’t forget. ☺️ It just feels as the right thing to do! And I am a convert and a charismatic catholic. 😊
So true, Eric!! It was something I was unfamiliar with and just learning about myself so I thought "am I the only one seeing the reasons for this? Why aren't more women talking about it/doing it?" You know?!
I just started veiling a few years ago. It was in a in a Novus Ordo parish and I was pretty much the only one. Actually, before I wore the veil, I started covering my head with hats. For me, it is a sign of humility before the Lord present in the Eucharist.
You have been such an inspiration to me! It seems like no one I know besides family is on the same page with me on veiling, or not using NFP unless an extreme emergency, etc., and it's so refreshing to see there are other Catholics out there like me. I get such nasty comments from people at church about my children (I have 5 under 7 and another on the way) and watching your video on bringing children to mass and ways to help with that, it's encouraging to know I'm doing the right thing in planting those seeds. Thank you so much for all you do!
My priest has at times the veil that you described and will give them to the women if they request free of charge and with love . He really doesn’t make a big conversation about it but when you know it’s available it opens up and then maybe he has a personal conversation with the women some of the people in the Spanish mass well some in the Latin mass and probably very fewIn the ordinary mass
I’ve had this on my heart for a couple of yes now but I kept dismissing it for all the reasons mentioned on the video (feeling ridiculous, etc.). I joined a group to renew my “Total Consecration to Jesus through Mary” & they were talking abt the importance & reasons for women to veil & they made it a requirement for the day of consecration/renewal, so I ordered my first two veils from Amazon last night. I’m feeling nervous about looking ridiculous although many women veil at my parish. However there’s this joy inside me & gratefulness to the Lord for having brought me to this point. ❤️🙏🙌
After my pilgrimage in Our Lady of Guadalupe, I felt the urge to wear a veil. Our lady has given me courage to wear it and sometime it makes me feel like I am the bride of Christ upon wearing it. Veiling is like imitating our Blessed Lady and upon wearing it you feel like you are one on one with Jesus during the mass.
I started veiling because I started going back to church and upon getting close to the doors to go in, every time I got this feeling like I should have my face covered...like I felt a mask on my face all of a sudden. It happens every time for months now, and I've even attended different churches. It's like I feel naked. I know we don't cover our faces, so I put on a veil after listening to a bunch of women talk about why they do it...and that feeling goes away when it's on. I can't explain it...but the church I was going to, lots of women do it. Now that I've moved, I'm the only one doing it. But, I'm going to keep doing it because that discomfort not wearing it is keeping me doing it.
❤ I was a Presbyterian before I became a Catholic. I had a longing to become a Catholic since I was maybe 4 or 5 years old, but could not reveal it to my parents. The Catholic Church had always mesmerized me since I was a child and it still does today too. This pull towards the true Church was so intense that I was crying in my heart when I could not receive the Holy Eucharist when I attended Holy Mass as a Presbyterian. I believed in the real presence of Jesus in the Holy Eucharist.Well after a few months I got married to my cradle Catholic boyfriend and was overjoyed to receive the Holy Eucharist. At first I did not veil for Mass but as time went by I studied scipture with new eyes and I started to really understand the significance of veiling something that is of God I could not help but veil myself in the real presence of God.Although the first time I veiled I was conscious of peoples reacton but that did not stop me from doing the right thing. There were a few awkward reactions from people to my veiling but that is expected since veiling of the head is rarely seen nowadays. Well now, two of my four daughters are veiling since the other two are still too young to handle veils. I am so happy to see these kinds of videos being made and shared as they tell the journey of theirs to other Catholics going through the same journey as them.
I see myself in your testimony. It was occured the same way for me. I started velling last year with very anxiuos and fear about what other will think. One curiosity that I have is if in U.S has some pattern about the color of the veil. I'm from Brazil and there usually single women wear white veil and married women wear black veil. But, now I live in U.S and I see sometimes married woman wearing white veil.
It's very interesting to hear your opinion from orthodox church perspective because all women here in all churches cover heads and you would stick out immediately if you don't. As a man I should say it's INCREDIBLY important for us. 1. Women no longer have that powerful effect on both women and men, you don't feel that vibrance, it just goes away and it's very spirit eleveting and comforting in itself not to get supressed by women's beauty 2. We somehow all feel closer to each other because of that 3. Yes I do feel it helps women to honour God 4. I also think it removes some aspects of sensual tension because woman feels the power of her looks as much as other and covering helps to tame that energy. I don't want to sound too harsh but few days ago after spending some time in women monastery usual women on the street seemed insane to me in their desire to attract attention in every way possible. Of course women are not to blame, it's the state of our society, but I think it's a very important experience for a modern girl to be at least sometimes as humble as possible in her clothes and attitude. Of courss I expect no less from men
@@agirlwithdreams15 it doesn't work that way, unfortunately. Also I wasn't talking about sexualizing tbh Woman's beauty is a powerful thing regardless if sexual tension is there or not
There is a talk by father Ripperger that speaks of this exactly. Both the women's responsibility as well as men having to overt there eyes more due to more immodest dress. While women "don't ask for the looks" they don't realize it's a natural reaction from men. I know that I have talked to my husband about this a lot as well. Your right there is a complete difference in mass when I veil compared to when I didn't. Not every one will understand and there will always be someone that disagrees. Keep your faith in the Lord and continue to walk the path that he asks of you. It may not always be easy but then again we were never promised an easy life on this earth. May God bless you and keep you all the days of your life.
Hi Kenzie! I received the sacrament of confirmation 2 days ago! In my long process of conversion from Protestant to Catholicism, I’ve made a lot of changes. After RCIA, I’ve just been pretty zealous to serve and get plugged in to serve our Lord with everything I have. I’ve gotten a few comments about being overzealous and immediately transitioning to skirts and dresses out of my own conviction I always knew that I really wanted to Veil as soon as I became Catholic I felt that veiling not being a part of the church was dishonoring to her tradition. None of my family and friends are Catholic do you think that this might hurt my witness and make the faith seem like a frenzy if I veil to quickly? Thank you so much also if it helps… I have a Latin mass that I can go to you sometimes about an hour away but my small parish only has Novus ordo! Thank you so much!!
You are like an angel. Young people like yourself, energetic with an open heart to the truth, are the best proof how false the allegations were to implement the many changes to the church discipline since, as the modernists said, the "man of today" has undergone a dramatic change which makes him so much different from all other ages of history. It's all so much a lie. The future of catholicism is in leaning back to our holy tradition with having a recourse to the fullness of the riches of the catholic faith, the one and only divine revelation in history.
I would love to veil, I even own one, but I’m so afraid of people and my family judging me. Please pray for me 💕

I recommend attending the Latin Mass--nearly all women veil there, so it's easier to not feel self-conscious.
Not everyone has that for an option.

Don't worry about what other people think. Lead by example
So true, Eric!! It was something I was unfamiliar with and just learning about myself so I thought "am I the only one seeing the reasons for this? Why aren't more women talking about it/doing it?" You know?!

I usually wear a hat to mass and adoration.
For some reason I don’t feel like I’m holy enough to wear a veil.
I know it’s silly
@@rosaharris4750 I wear a veil and I am far from "holy enough"- but it is not about me, it is about reverence for Jesus' Presence in The Eucharist.

I started just recently wearing a veil to adoration. Feels deeper …thinking of wearing it for Lent this year.

That’s so funny. Nobody planted seeds in my mind about veiling, but the rest of my own process is very similar to yours. :)
I really am excited to start attending Latin mass and veiling! I got a white veil since I'm unmarried
Beautiful video. Thank you for posting it.
I love veiling and it’s very common in my parish, but my little ones always rip it off my head. So oh well, maybe I can do it when they’re older.
se ven muy elegantes y conscientes del lugar al que asisten vestidas asi ... muy bien yo soy catolico

I’m thinking of veiling at all times (besides in the home) I’m feeling a bit insecure myself but it feels like something I should do!
Do it! I was insecure at first too but it's not about us, it is about Our Lord.

There’s instruction to the early church for women to vail as a symbolic gesture

Learn to control yourself. Men need to stop sexualizing women so much. Leave us alone. We don't want your attention.

I want to veil.
can I veil outside mass?
What would be the reason? It really is for reverence for The Eucharist.
