you prolly dont give a shit but does anyone know of a trick to log back into an Instagram account..? I somehow forgot my password. I would love any assistance you can offer me
@Ronin Tate I really appreciate your reply. I got to the site thru google and Im in the hacking process atm. Takes a while so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
If you start wearing dresses/skirts may I mention the idea of wearing shorts underneath for safety from possible people trying to take inappropriate pictures up dress/skirt?
Nomopoly 2 It’s not visible and God knows is for safety. He won’t condemn you for that. The Holy Spirit will guide you on what to wear or not. I also wear skirt and dresses.
@@swgadrunq1700 oh my goodness so true! I don't understand when everybody's acting like wearing pants is a sin when in there day people all wore skirts or robes. I think that verse ment not to cross dress. Like when you try looking like a girl even if your a man
My wife makes her own dresses and ones for our three year old daughter. She has been only wearing dresses and skirts pretty much since we got married in 2014. She loves it and I find it very beautiful. She also takes care of our animals on our small homestead and is super hard working around the house!
@@sushirollsushiroll4179 hi I'm also new to wearing skirts and dresses. I didn't have almost anything because before that i just wore jeans. I have expanded my wardrobe from second hand stores
Glad I found your channel! I was required to were skirts and dresses when I was growing up because my parents didnt allow us to wear pants. I remember feeling so comfortable and pretty wearing dresses until I started middle school. I was made fun of for only wearing dress. When I went off to college I started wearing pants. I notice that when I started wearing jeans I start to dislike my body because my shape was more noticeable and I started comparing myself to girls with perfect bodies. Now that I'm on this journey back to femininity I definitely feel my confidence improving and I'm more comfortable in my skin. I ve been wearing skirts and dresses more often then not and when I do wear pants or jeans I like to pair it with a flowy feminine top. I just feel so much more b than beautiful and womenly in a dress. So now I will definitely incorporate them more often than pants.
I practice my english everyday with you! I am brazilian and catholic and it is an honor to have the privilege of watching these videos. You're awesome! ❤
I always found wearing jeans SO uncomfortable. Trousers just never seem to fit properly. I started wearing dresses and skirts when pregnant one very hot summer and it was like a revelation - finally, super comfortable and much cooler. And in cold winters I wear leggings or wool tights underneath and a long coat. In fact, dresses are warmer because you can pack on the layers underneath.
I started wearing skirts and dresses only this year. Dresses are just so flattering on women's bodies, I always feel so pretty wearing skirts. And it's well noticed, I've gotten a few compliments from women who noticed who just thought my fashion was to classy and beautiful. They really are comfy too, I tried one of my old jeans that I wore all the time last year, and I was astonished at how uncomfortable they were. The waist didn't hit where my natural waist is, I felt so constricted, and it was a mix of unflattering cut and just revealing my legs in the tight jeans that made me VERY uncomfortable. I would highly recommend all women to try it. though you should get skirts and dresses you like! if you don't have any you like then you won't enjoy wearing them.
Thanks for your video. I know how it is. I switched to exclusive modest dresses and skirts in 2011 and would never go back to pants. A few people have given me strange looks on occasion from people at work, at social gatherings, with family, or ask why I'm so dressed up, when it's just standard women's attire. I don't really say why I do it. I"ve learned to find skirts that appear more casual to fit in more. I didn't have money to make this journey initially because I was a student at the time so I just got what I could find at thrift stores. Although I wasn't always so in line with mainstream fashion living in a major urban city where people really follow trends, I felt content and it changed how I felt about myself.
As a young buck catholic male. I can assure you girls... you not only look more attractive while dressing modestly but you are ALSO showing your potential future husband that you are striving for virtue as well. And I can assure you, you will attract a more virtues husband ultimately because of it!
@@mariharrik5987It might surprise you to learn that others DO notice how you present yourself whether you want them to or not. It doesn't mean you'll be judged for the way you are perceived, but it IS a part of living amongst others.
For anyone reading this later, be assured that the guy leaving this comment is giving you good advice. I'm 41, when I was 16 I was hanging out in a friend's room among a mixed group, and laying on the floor in jeans and a t-shirt. But my t-shirt fell in such a way that it exposed my midriff. 1 of the guys noticed and questioned the fact that my stomach was tan. Not in a mean way, just a bit confused I suppose. Anywho, the conversation led to him suggesting that I didn't need to wear a bikini to be attractive, that leaving something to the imagination is a good thing that is found very attractive to him at least, but that has proven to be pretty well universal over the years. He was 18 at the time, and I have come to realize that when a teenage guy tells you that being more modest is attractive, it might be something you want to listen to.
I looked up how to dress up skirts and randomly came across your video !I I love this ! I’m in Korea right now and alooot of korean women only wear skirts or dresses and my friend told me it’s because they are traditional . Skirts and dresses represent modesty class and femininity ! I recently bought skirts to try and blend in with the culture more and all the sudden I’ve had a random urge to want to wear them more often that I have before . When I wore pants my first weeks here i felt like the westerner that’s is edgy . Pants definitely project different things to people depending where you are from !
it's weird to think that dressing 'girly' draws scorn these days. i hated 'girly' clothes growing up. honestly, anything uncomfortable. so i wore baggy clothes all the time. it wasn't until recently (around 31-32) that i started experimenting with dresses. they blew my mind. they're SO much more comfortable than pants. and you're so right, they make me more aware of how i move, and in a really pleasant way. and i don't know how, but they ARE more practical than pants. pants, even well fitted ones, squeeze and restrict you in weird ways, and somehow they make me feel more self-conscious about my waist and lower half. it's easier to bend and move around in dresses (just gotta be sure they're long and loose enough LOL). only time pants are more practical is if i'm doing something where the dress would get caught on things a lot (heavy yardwork, etc). heck, i washed my car and wore a dress while doing it out of curiosity. i found it was MORE practical than pants, because when I got soaked, i had less wet cloth stuck against my skin. so i felt so much more comfortable than if i had been wearing pants. depending on the type of dress you get, you can also wear extra layers under them to make them work in colder weather. you can't do that with a lot of pants. the trick is getting the right length. too short, and you might flash people LOL too long, and your feet might catch or step on it. luckily, if it's too long, it's fairly easy to hem it to the right length!
I’ve had that same feeling for a couple of years now, of being drawn to wearing dresses and skirts. For the past year though is when I’ve been feeling the need to dress modestly. I was also raised Catholic. I DO notice that when I’m frequently wearing dresses, my husband and our sons really enjoy it and are more gentlemanly around me. But who knows, maybe it’s because I carry myself differently and am happier when dressing that way.
I love this topic and I 100% agree with your perspective! thank you for sharing your thoughts... I have felt the same conviction to only wear skirts/ dresses too!
I have started to feel God is leading me to wearing dresses and skirts and I do believe I am going to be doing this very shortly. I am on a weight loss journey so I want to settle to my new weight before buying my dresses. 5.5 months to go! Can't wait!
Wearing skirts and dresses is such a beautiful thing! I began exclusively wearing skirts/ dresses 10 years ago and it's been life changing. I got a lot of negative feedback but I pushed through and I feel very feminine and beautiful. Colleen's book is what started me on this path. I highly recommend!
I believe that God is awakening his daughters with this modesty and biblical femininity movement ! You are not alone. I see it also occurring in regards to headcoverings as well.
There is a channel called “inspired by Nikki” and she is doing a series on dressing ladylike. She wears nice clothes all the time, and she shows how she wears nice clothes while still doing housework. She also covers wearing slips for modesty as well. And giving up pants for lent is such a great idea! I may have to try that next Lent.
Oo I will search for her now! Thank you for telling me about her- the series seems like something I would be interested in! I feel like it is so hard to wrap my head around dressing nicely while doing housework but I'm trying to wear aprons more often. Yes! Let me know how it goes- it was much harder than I imagined! ❤️
Hi Kenzie! I just discovered your channel and I’m so glad there is a Catholic mom on youtube really exploring and representing traditional Catholic values. There are other channels that are so much more worldly and I love your passion in pursuing femininity and protecting your children and their virtues. xo
Im a Seventh-day Adventist Christian and many of our more conservative members wear skirts and dresses only. I have recently been convicted of this myself and I also struggle with it for some reason. I am trying to figure out how to transition to dresses only. If you do this, keep us updated on how you transition.
I love this testimony, my sister, keep following Christ, you are definitely on the right track. You are right about one thing, your clothing affects your mood and behavior, any guy who wears a nice suit feels masculine, and any woman who wears a nice dress feels more graceful and feminine, God designed it this way to not only differentiate the sexes, but to make our distinctions vibrant in our dressing and behavior. What Satan has been doing through the feminist movement is to merge the sexes to the point that when you look at the someone on the street, you cannot tell whether that person is a man or a woman, that is the desire of the devil and by the looks of it he will achieve it. Remember, it took about 60 years for the culture to get assimilated to women wearing pants from 1930s to 1990s, and it will take even less time for him to put men in dresses, the celebrities have already started it and very soon it will become a norm. Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Thank you so much for making this video! I am currently going through a very similar discernment process right now. The more I look into it the more I feel compelled to wear skirts and dresses but my big dilemma is my closet. I don’t have the money to purchase a brand new wardrobe at the moment.
You can totally start by one piece and gradually build up until you notice you have enough skirt and dresses to stop wearing pants , thats how I did it, it took at least a year and a half I would say and Im really in a bad state economically, aliexpress helped me a lot as is cheap and they have more options because the biggest buyers are russian and chinese and they still prefer more traditional femenine clothes than in the west, always look at the reviews though if something is too cheap it will not be good quality I learnt it the hard way lol
I'm in the same situation! I feel SO inspired and called to wear skirts and dresses only (wich are SO comfy for me btw!) But I cannot invest in many pieces at the moment...I did buy 3 lightweight skirts for summer on sale but I find summer dresses are much cheaper and in summertime it's easier to find skirts and dresses in stores (at least here in Italy). I am afraid in winter it will be much challenging...I hope I can have a basic (maybe denim?) skirt or two for Christmas 😅 meanwhile I'll work with what I have 🤷♀️ and slowly transition I think
@@KikkaAndrawes I totally understand all of this! I agree with Jami Jami about gradually adding them in. Leggings underneath help keep you super warm in the winter too! I've even layered multiple pairs of leggings on top of each other to make them thicker lol.
Thank you Mary- I'm glad I'm not alone!! I totally agree about purchasing a new wardrobe! I have just slowly been adding skirts in. If you get a solid color it helps (I have a black on) and it is wearable with almost all of my tee shirts. Praying for you on this journey/discernment process!
@@TheOvernightMom This is a great advice 😂 I'll keep that in mind 😍 I am feeling amazing wearing skirts only and I think a little cold weather cannot stop me 😂😂😂😙😙😙😙😙😙 thank you a lot for inspiring me 💖
I remember when I was little my mom forced me to wear a skirt or a dress every Sunday when we would go to church. From about the ages of 5-13 I hated wearing dresses because hardly any girls would wear dresses going to church especially the girls my age but I love wearing skirts now. I think this is also portrayed in the media, whenever you see a girl on a T.V. show she wears pants except when she's going somewhere fancy. I 100% believe that this was made by feminist to make women more like men. I really want to only wear skirts but i'm just starting college and I really don't want to stand out and have people stare at me.
I WANT to wear dresses only instead of jeans. Unfortunately, the dress code at my job doesn't allow it, but I feel much more free and feminine in a long dress or skirt. I've grown up with two brothers and no sisters, so I've been a tomboy all my life. I'm 22, moved out, and ready to grow up and be a full lady now. My Mom recently gave me a long 1930s nightgown, and I love it. Since then, I've been very critical of my wardrobe. I'm tired of wearing clothing everyone else is wearing and caring what they think, and want to have my own feminine style. I'm not going to get rid of all casual clothes, but I want to have a completely feminine look when I finish work and go about my daily life. I love the feel and look of long dresses and skirts, and want to wear what I want now. Modesty is a priority for me. I'm looking for affordable dresses that look beautiful, appropriate and feel natural.
@Nomopoly 2 I don't understand how it would be discriminatory. Dress code is dress code for a reason. At my job, it could be dangerous. A dress or skirt could get caught on something and cause injury. Certain activities girls participate in, it wouldn't be an option to wear a dress: Horseback riding, bicycling, gymnastics and jogging. I'm not going to get into a discussion with my manager on something that isn't even important. When I'm at work, I do as I'm told. At home, shopping, walking, or visiting a park or beach is when I can be myself.
Honey, I have been there! I wore a skirt to work in the summer, then was told by a supervisor that I couldn't do that anymore. But it was more comfortable than wearing long pants.
I just came across your videos. I recently felt prompted to wear more dresses and skirts for feminity and modesty. Its so refreshing to see that God has been putting this on many women's hearts. :-)
For me it’s not about modesty or religion or anything like that.I just want to wear skirts because I feel more comfortable in them cause they are way better than pants, but I live in Canada and it’s always freezing so I can pretty much only do it in summer 😢
@@hudakristall3139 Awesome:) I live in Canada and I decided in 2011 to only wear skirts and dresses and it just gets better and better, never want to go back!
@@cindymcgilvray Wow!!!! I found it difficult to find other Canadian's who wear skirts and dresses regularly. I have felt like I am the only one. I am in Canada as well I have been on this journey for a while now. I do wear mostly skirts and dresses even in the winter months because I have invested in the heavy long jean skirts and I also wear tights under the skirts. I feel so covered and I really like that feeling. The response is very mixed I have had other ladies tell me that I need to put pants on and then I have had other men who really do not like it at all and want to see me in a pair of pants because they say I look like their grandmother and I have others who really do not know what to make of it.
@@Paula7379 Where abouts in Canada are you? I am in Toronto where there is a lot of cultural diversity, and religious diversity, many Jewish people, so I get taken for a Jew a lot. Sometimes I get taken for a Pentacostal or Catholic and people do take me for being older than I am because of the clothes, when everyone around is wearing leggings or jeans this year I am standing out more. I try to wear slim fitted skirts that are kind of 1940s look which I really like, so classy. I understand it can be hard to feel modern and I really don't want to have to spend that much time on clothing. I do find that I get some unhappy looks from some women, but then I sometimes see other modest women who get it. With men overall they seem to treat me with a lot of respect, lots of kind gestures, giving me the seat on the bus and I just feel a sense of admiration that I am not wearing distracting immodest clothing.
I grew up loving skirts and dresses and only switched to pants when I started growing leg hair. Over the last few years I have collected a handful of “everyday” dresses and am slowly building back my skirt/dress wardrobe. The two best things about them are 1: you automatically feel more feminine/look “nicer” 2: if you wear some kind of shorts under them (a necessity in my local humid weather) you can do anything in a skirt you can do in pants. I don’t feel called to it as a Christian, I just enjoy it personally, but understand how some could. The “middle ground” I really want to have is a couple sets of true culottes (not just wide leg pants) that look like skits but are split like pants. Sadly these are completely out of style and a challenge to find.
It's so funny I was at a speech sort of thing where someone spoke about wearing jeans and t-shirts as symbols that we as catholics don't stand for. My pants I had also ripped one after another in this time and all pants I orderes afterwards wouldn't fit, so I decided to invest in warm tights for the winter and some quality skirts and dresses. This lent and spring I only wore skirts! And I now wear mostly skirts and only rarely pants. I like it!
I have never felt compelled to comment on video on TH-cam before until stumbling across this particular one. I was raised as a Catholic, however It was also in a feministic household/environment . I went to Public high school, participated in cheerleading, parting etc. I was unfortunately never taught in depth about modesty, dignity, and femininity. I always was urged and praised to excel in school and college as well as the whole feminist mindset of thinking “I need to fit into society, in with my peers, accept the body positivity junk and that’s ultimately what will make me happy and attractive” -boy was I wrong! Fast forward to now, I am 20 years old, I have had a recent reversion in my Catholic faith, and I am overjoyed to have met the most incredible man (who I marrying this Aug :) who is a traditional Catholic. He gently and lovingly spent time explaining to me about how dangerous the feministic mindset is for women and especially for Christians and Catholics. I didn’t even realize how my life had been revolving around those feministic “values” for so long. People, and other men always commented on how good I looked in jeans or unisex immodest clothing, therefore I thought that’s what made me “beautiful”. My fiancé told me otherwise, and explained how my God given beauty and femininity is a gift from God and needs to be protected and nourished. I went from wearing immodest short skirts, shorts, skin tight jeans, low tops, etc to now completely wearing modest attire and only dresses and skirts. As of last night, I’m happy to say I don’t own a single pair of jeans anymore. If you’re young like me, please don’t be afraid of being feminine and guarding your dignity, your self worth with clothing who truly brings out your beauty. And ladies, let me tell you, there is so many very flattering, stylish, and beautiful dresses and skirts that are modest available right now! (They are hard to find, but not impossible:) Since I’ve begun wearing skirts and dresses everyday I’ve noticed a major change in how others treat me. So much more respect, compliments, and kindness. I made this change for God ultimately (so not to lead others into the sin of lust anymore) and out of respect for myself and my future husband. He calls me his diamond, and I feel truly blessed to have finally made the change and committed to this decision. My fiancé couldn’t be more happy for me and proud of me. He is striving to be a shining example of what real masculinity is in this messed up society, and I’m striving to be an example of real femininity. Please don’t be afraid to be feminine, beautiful, welcoming, and charming. We are woman, let’s be proud and thankful for that ♥️God bless
My wife and my daughters all wear skirts/dresses anytime they leave the house. It’d be nice if more woman dressed this way, to have a sense of community. We do have some friends from outside our church body who live this way as well. As a matter of fact, our children are going to a pool party with them today, not only did the family rent the pool, but they’ve asked the lifeguard to dress appropriately as well, it’s a breath of fresh air to be around friends with similar convictions, even if they are from a different church than ours.
I've noticed that. Especially in this day and age, with the majority of women looking the way they do, men aren't sure how to treat us anymore. Holding the door open for a women or giving up a seat for them could possibly get you ridiculed over the internet. My supposed Christian roommate got offended when I said I wanted to learn how to cook and care for a husband and family, and when I chose out and bought my own clothes, she criticized my long dresses because, "You don't HAVE to wear what you're wearing" or "No one dresses like that anymore" or "You look like you're going to a wedding." Women are being ridiculed by other women just for being women.
Young Lady my family thinks it’s weird when I wear dresses a lot they’re like “are you going to a party or something?” But in my experience, dresses are more comfortable than jeans
As a women for one I don’t care and for two Is rather be comfortable and not look “appealing” then getting raped, sexually harassed or assaulted, cat called, called a whore, hoe, thot, attention seeker, slut, ect. So keep an open mind ok?
Do you remember the old saying: "Who wears the pants in the family?" I remember an old Bugs Bunny cartoon that had Mrs. Bugs Bunny and she was wearing a dress but when she said this, she lifted up her dress and saw the pants. What I'm getting at is this: pants were originally (In this culture anyway) for the men. Hence, "who wears the pants". When I read/heard that women started wearing pants in rebellion--I thought: uh-oh. I don't want to be counted as being rebellious. So, for me personally, I want to be dresses/skirts only. It's so comfy!!!!
I completely understand! That's where my mindset is. Most people would say pants are not considered rebellious today but (and I have a link in the description box) pantsuits were worn during the previous election to make a feminist statement of rebellion. Majority of women/young girls probably wear pants without giving it a second thought...but it seems like it is one of those things where once you "see" it, you can't un-see it. I loved your story! So relatable! ❤️
Thank you so much for making this video, it is encouraging to see that other women are going through the same thing that I am. I just started to feel called to wear only skirts and dresses but I’ve been so afraid to go through with it. I love how you mentioned that you used to get made fun of for wearing dresses because I got made fun of too when I used to wear only skirts as a child. This was very encouraging!
It's a delight to see more women returning to modesty and wearing more dresses and skirts. I find it more attractive in a world where everything is sexualized. I have also found myself feeling numb and disinterested in women who dress provocatively. Also the more I dive into my masculinity the more I find feminine women attractive, but I do notice it more in the catholic and pentacostal churches and women who are more conservative. I have been try to teach men to embrace their masculinity and hope to see more feminine women teach other women.
I m muslim and I can relate to this too..your video is helpful...Faith is related with modesty and decent...It is very interesting that we can have the same feeling
I really enjoyed your video. About 5 years ago I felt a call to look different than the world. Long story short, I found that people would just assume I felt the way they did about issues...politics, gender, feminism. I started to realize that I looked like the world. This sent my to Scripture to see what exactly it had to say about women, wives and mothers who profess Godliness. I felt a strong conviction, as a wife, to wear a headcovering. (I initially told God he was crazy if he thought would do this.) Although, I had always admired the boldness of Gody women who wore headcoverings in today's conform-or-else society. My husband and I talked and prayed about it. We were in agreement and I began wearing a headcoverings full-time. I can remember feeling like everyone was looking at me. I was made fun of by my father and some friends. Sometimes it is not easy to be obedient... The next realization God brought to me was that my headcoverings and my clothes weren't conveying the same message. As my necklines got higher...my hem lines got lower. I did alot of thrift store shopping as my wardrobe was changing. This allowed my to see what I would like, what was practical and what was easy to care for without spending big bucks. It has been a process and I do occasionally wear pants with a longer top, as I can see no problem with this as long as I am not making efforts to look masculine. There are no other women in my church or work environments who look like me. But that's ok. I can be different and sometimes stand out for the sake of obedience. These are personal decisions between your heart and God's. I am thankful for my believing husband who has been understanding in this journey. No judgement ladies...everyone is at a different place in their refining.
I applaud you and all women who are wearing skirts, especially these days when the boundaries between men and women are being torn down. For a long time I’ve been thinking about wearing skirts more but hesitated to be different even though I kept finding more reasons that I should. Modesty is a totally forgotten virtue but really makes a woman more attractive than the pants and shorts and plunging necklines. And you are helping to save men from their own passions because they are very much more visually stimulated than women. I hope you are starting a trend. If anyone is moved to wear skirts but feels hesitant just think of yourself as a trend setter. Besides I’ve noticed that women look better in skirts, especially long ones. And if you think that skirts aren’t attractive watch old movies from the 1940s and 50s. The women are very stylish and attractive in skirts below the knee. And look at pictures of women from the Victorian age. They knew how to enhance their beauty with modest clothes. Women wore skirts everywhere up until the last 100 years or so, so we know it can be done. God bless you, you are an inspiration!
Femininity is a beautiful thing! We should embrace it! I started wearing dresses last year and now I’m trying to do it full time even in the winter too!
I think that is why I don't wear dresses...I was teased when I wore my Easter dress to school one day in elementary school. I've been tomboy ever since. Now I feel like I need to exclusively wear dresses and skirts. I let a kid scare me until now and I'm 38! Enough is enough. I'm old enough to not care anymore so here goes.
I'm not sure what your name is but it's so refreshing to hear your thoughts on this very important subject. I love wearing dresses, because they are so beautiful and bring glory to the Lord. However I also wear pants, but make sure that I look as feminine as possible when I wear them.
I'm so glad that I found your video!! I know the challenge of standing out in the crowd when everyone else is so casual especially these days! Thank you also for mentioning Colleen Hammond. I found her interview and it was so deep! I need to buy her book! I also have the desire to only wear dresses and skirts for myself to really be more feminine. I just have a desire for that. When I wear pants it makes me feel masculine even in my posture. Feminist make women less feminine! Thank you for this video. God Bless you!
I have been having the desire to start dressing more modestly including wearing skirts/dresses instead of pants. My only concern is that I work at a Starbucks but I hope to find a few pieces that will work out there too.
This war against women is why I want to start wearing dresses and I can count on one hand how many times I have worn a dress in my life! I do feel like it will help me act more lady like too.
I used to only wear dresses and skirts, in recent years I've put on a lot of weight and most of the time I feel I look more modest in trousers and a longer top. I think my weight can make dresses look shorter than they actually are, and long dresses make me look like a tent lol. I love dresses but can't find any that are comfortable, decent length and modest so now I have to make them. Fun but rakes up a lot of time.
I dress very modestly, always have. Still in 2024 I'm rocking the long denim skirt, T-shirt and jersey cardigans. I have a question though, during my teens something compelled me to fill my inner forearms with tattoos. I have flowers, mountains, animals. I think I was experiencing some strong teen feelings and ran with it. Well now in my 20s I don't necessarily regret my tattoos as I chose tasteful nature inspired art, but I feel so embarrassed to wear tshirts even if they are full coverage with a floor length skirt because I feel impure and not modest due to my tattoos. I find myself living in long sleeves and cardigans to cover them. What advice or encouragement would you have as a modest clothing influencer? Should I forgive myself and embrace them and allow them to become a part of my modesty? I'm not sure why they make me feel like my modesty efforts are cancelled out because of them. 💓thank you Also, I'd like to mention I grew up with non-religious parents but they always had strong morals and encouraged dignity/modesty. I do not follow a faith but I've always felt improper or not myself if I've put in pants. I've always worn anything that is below the knees, and full coverage shirts.
I had a thought about you saying that you don't judge a woman for wearing pants; I believe you. I decided to wear only skirts and dresses a number of years ago for my own reasons and never thought twice about another woman wearing pants. However, I received numerous comments (not nice ones at all) from other women complaining or criticizing me for wearing skirts and dresses. One comment that still replays in my mind came from a woman at a sporting event who, as I walked by, said, "who does she think she is dressing like that here?" I was wearing a knee length knit skirt and a sports team tee with Teva sandals. I thought it was totally appropriate. Anyway, after 2 1/2 years of only skirts I'm back to wearing both skirts and pants.
'Yes' emphatically to everything you say, but people ought to know that accidents can happen with skirts and dresses. There was the wife of the poet Longfellow who died from laying an open fire in the hearth because of her long Victorian dress. Likewise here in England, about 1940 I think, a Bruderhof girl got fatal burns doing the same thing in her unnecessarily long dress. No doubt there were other such incidents. My childhood was in the 1940s and -50s when it was almost unknown for girls or women to wear trousers and now that the situation is reversed, seeing people feels more depressing and ugly.
I wear skirts and dresses only to work. I am not religious at all. The reason why is that as a pear-shaped woman, skirts and dresses serve me better and give me confidence. They cover my hips and thighs.
Love your message here and your openness to a path you feel the Lord is leading you thru. Your transparency is refreshing, especially sharing about researching to topic.
Very well said! I have mainly worn skirts and dresses since the age of 18 and I’m 28 years old now and I dress to embrace feminine style sine I was 18. I wear dresses mostly everyday and study historical dress and it just looks better in my opinion.
I personally hate wearing skirts and dresses, i feel more comfortable in pants but my mom doesnt seem to get it, and always will ask me to wear dresses to her friends house or a wedding, i feel more comfortable wearing jeans though
Same here. Dresses and skirts make me feel so uncomfortable and bare. I'd be afraid of someone seeing my underwear. I feel way more covered wearing pants. Keep being you and wear what makes you feel comfortable :)
Everyone I know is really tomboy and if you look around in a busy place here you'll only find one person if you're lucky wearing a dress/skirt idk I just feel like I have loads of pressure on being a tomboy I just want a be like this idk why it's a bad thing here?
@@TheOvernightMom Can you believe I went shopping to a Salvation army to get some skirts and dresses?! You opened my eyes so much, not that I was wearing anything fancy or revealing but I would wear yoga pants every single day. Now I'm going to wear these nice pieces of clothing that I adore, super simple and comfortable. Thank you so much for inspiring me! I also bought the book you suggested. Amazing! Tha nk God for people like you!
I know it makes me sick on how women dress now. But then I was raised in the 50s. Women and girls just wear dresses and skirts. My mother never dressed me in jeans. Only my brothers wore them. I saw a woman at Walmart the other day in a one-piece stretchy pant outfit. It was so tight on her that you could see everything. Plus, it was flesh in color. I do wear shorts but they are just above my knee or capries. Dresses or skirts for church.
I’ve never met any female in theirs teen-mature age who find your point useful. Only my grandma would agree with you. But my Mom, sister, aunt, 99% of all my female classmates throughout my school years, any of my work colleagues today - they wear PANTS. Maybe once or twice a year they’ll wear some dresses, but only on special occasion such as Christmas dinner. Fellas, you know, I’ve never got curious about why in modern society women tends to wear a pants on a regular basis🤔 As I’m getting older I’m looking more at the our predecessors. With every book or article I read, with every documentary I saw - I’m getting more into that. Isn’t it great when women wear skirts as dresses? Isn’t it great when men being gentlemen and not misinterpreted as thirsty animals? Sure, there was a lot a bad things we did in past, but I just want to live in healthy society.
Wearing pants doesn't mean you are not ladylike. Trousers are a functional attire and you need them in some cases e.g you can't do Karate with a just a skirt. That's just dumb.
Did you know that pants was created years later, It’s funny you said that when the sick women touch the robe of Jesus it wasn’t a pant, that’s why there’s different sections men/women in the stores, Christian women will not go and buy men pants and Christian men will not go and buy women pants. We living in the last day it’s a shame to see people focus more on following culture than God’s words. I do not agree with women looking half naked but women can wear pants depend on what kind of pant the same way a woman can wear a long dress and still sin depend on what kind of dress.
I haven’t made a purchase from any of these yet but I’ve found/heard good things about: Inherit Co. , Modli, Neesees Dresses, Snoga Athletics, Eshakti, Sweet Salt Clothing, and Dainty Jewells. And they all seem to specifically cater to a skirt/dress/modest demographic :) I’ve personally had good success at Burlington and the Good will! I even found a nice White House Black Market skirt at the Good that looked like it had never been worn-the original tag was on it and everything! I think with so many people not being use to skirts, they go barely worn and end up donating so you really can find some gems! I’ve found several great options on Amazon too!
What about playing tennis? Do you or would you play tennis! If so what would you wear? I would believe you’d wear those full length skirts they wore back in the day. Btw did I mention you’re so very pretty? Woo! Woo! I think I’ll sub you even though I don’t agree with much only because you’re pretty.
I did that as a girl as well .. I noticed for some reason when I felt like I was drawing closer to God I would shed my jeans and go put on a dress , not just any dress it had to be modest and below the knee at least it was a strange time for me . Nobody ever told me to do that or I had to it just happened , now I where dresses/skirts all of the time it doesn't feel right for me myself anyway to wear pants , not like I'm evil or anything if I were to but just unnatural for me to wear them . I feel totally liberated in dresses :) God is pulling on your heart !
Well God bless u! I know with out a dout i know God IS speaking to you. Did u know alot of times when God speaks into our hearts it sounds like our voice but alot of times it would be random not something we would think or say? Aldo the fact that u feel a deep pull to do this tell me its God leading u. Idk what all u believe but if ur interested ask God to fill u with him holy spirit to baptize u with it. Ik of a lot of catholics that speak in unknown tongues when they pray in the spirit. 😊
@Boxing Boxing I wear stretchy cotton knit dresses and have a lot more range of motion than in typical pants/jeans. Dresses are more comfortable in hotter climates. Sweats make you sweat.
@Anna same here. I wear long baggy shorts and t-shirts. I spend a lot of time outdoors and I like to be comfortable. And I don't really care if anyone thinks I look wonderfully turned out 🤗 I'm also a faithful Catholic.
Absolutely! You're right about pants being a symbol of feminism which is definetley wrong in the eyes of God. God made man to be head of the household and to take care of woman. Man it's meant to be stronger. Anyone who tells you different is going against the word of God. It says in the Bible that woman should not dress like a man. Men should not dress as a woman either.
In Biblical times, everyone wore dresses. Pants=boys and dresses=girls is our culture, not necessarily what was happening in the Middle East 2000 years ago.
Leviticus 16:4 He shall put the holy linen tunic and the linen trousers on his body; he shall be girded with a linen sash, and with the linen turban he shall be attired. These are holy garments. Therefore he shall wash his body in water, and put them on.
I'm always in leggings or jeans and I'm sure to go out for the evening soon. I said to my boyfriend I've actually got nothing nice to wear. I want to wear a dress or skirt so tomorrow I'm going shopping. I'm hoping this will open me up to wearing those more often. It's crazy because i wear more causal skirts at home. I've just got into feeling more comfy going out wearing jeans and leggings.
I can definitely relate to this! Jeans have always been my go-to! Sometimes I will wear leggings around the house and throw a stretchy maxi skirt on if I head out. That has been a really easy way for me to get use to wearing skirts more often! I hope you found some comfy clothes that you like! :-D
Theres nothing wrong with pursuing traditional femininity, but wearing pants doesnt make a woman less feminine and if a woman tends to be more masculine there is nothing wrong with that.
If skirts and dresses have bigger/actual pockets than pants, sign me up for it. I get dressing modestly is good and stuff but I just tent to wear pants because they're more comfortable.
I am with you here!! lol. I always wore tight skinny jeans and those pockets don't even open up enough to hold a few dollars much less my phone lol....so the pockets in some of my skirts have actually been helpful. I've also looked up some tutorials online on how to sew pockets into any skirt or dress. I'll update you if I try it but you can customize the size. It looks like once you get the hang of it, it would be pretty easy but I am not an expert seamstress by any means so maybe it just appears that way on video. :D
I wear dresses everyday because I love them.

If you start wearing dresses/skirts may I mention the idea of wearing shorts underneath for safety from possible people trying to take inappropriate pictures up dress/skirt?
YES!!! 100% Great comment!!
Nomopoly 2 It’s not visible and God knows is for safety. He won’t condemn you for that. The Holy Spirit will guide you on what to wear or not. I also wear skirt and dresses.
@Nomopoly 2 you realize that skirts were unisex back then right 😐 and so is pants... people are not being sent to hell to wear an undergarment

Hey I started wearing dresses and skirts for the past 6 months, can u pls tell me where u buy ur clothes, its getting cold out here
@@sushirollsushiroll4179 when it’s cold I like to wear tights underneath my skirts or dresses.
@blessednhm pants can make you feminine as well
I practice my english everyday with you!
I would highly recommend all women to try it. though you should get skirts and dresses you like! if you don't have any you like then you won't enjoy wearing them.
pants can be classy as well you need just to wear correctly fitted pants like dresses

@dantosinferne maybe they are scornful because you judge other women and act all superior because you wear skirts and dresses
I wear skirts all the time and it doesn’t stop me. If God is telling you to do something you better do it, he always blesses people who obey him
I have started to feel God is leading me to wearing dresses and skirts and I do believe I am going to be doing this very shortly.
You are amazing! Keep standing out and being “You”
I believe that God is awakening his daughters with this modesty and biblical femininity movement !
You may get hooked on modest dress when you see how much more respect you receive, especially from men.
I wear dresses simply because they are comfortable. ❤
I think there is a way to wear skirts that doesn’t draw attention. Just lean toward an understated look. Be brave ❤️
@Nomopoly 2 Jobs have dress codes
You can still wear all Dresses and skirts with tights (wool) and /or leggins.i do this too,and i live in scandinavia😊

(They are hard to find, but not impossible:)
Since I’ve begun wearing skirts and dresses everyday I’ve noticed a major change in how others treat me.
As a man, women wearing skirts and dresses usually look more feminine and appealing to me.
I've noticed that. Especially in this day and age, with the majority of women looking the way they do, men aren't sure how to treat us anymore. Holding the door open for a women or giving up a seat for them could possibly get you ridiculed over the internet.
My supposed Christian roommate got offended when I said I wanted to learn how to cook and care for a husband and family, and when I chose out and bought my own clothes, she criticized my long dresses because, "You don't HAVE to wear what you're wearing" or "No one dresses like that anymore" or "You look like you're going to a wedding."
Women are being ridiculed by other women just for being women.
Young Lady my family thinks it’s weird when I wear dresses a lot they’re like “are you going to a party or something?” But in my experience, dresses are more comfortable than jeans
Ugh i hate skirts and dresses😑
As a women for one I don’t care and for two Is rather be comfortable and not look “appealing” then getting raped, sexually harassed or assaulted, cat called, called a whore, hoe, thot, attention seeker, slut, ect. So keep an open mind ok?
@@JustAZillennial"for being woman" so being woman is cooking and wearing long dresses? And then you wonder why other women judge you...
Amen, deuteronomy 22:5 is exactly what you're talking about. Don't let the culture dictate and shame you. God is on your side
I only wear skirts and dresses, and I love my feminine style, I will wear shorts under them when I ride my Bicycle just incase my skirts ride up
do you have any recommendations for shopping modest dresses and skirts? As a young mom, traditional Catholic, I am trying to build my wardrobe.
Neesee's dresses
Roolee
The Darling Style
These are just a few online stores with pretty modest clothing:)
I get most of mine at thrift stores but Amazon has a lot
Thank you so much for making this video, it is encouraging to see that other women are going through the same thing that I am. I just started to feel called to wear only skirts and dresses but I’ve been so afraid to go through with it. I love how you mentioned that you used to get made fun of for wearing dresses because I got made fun of too when I used to wear only skirts as a child. This was very encouraging!
Be brave sweet girl! God is doing a movement in his daughters!
Modesty also means not wearing TIGHT clothing that accentuates body parts.
Im trying to start the trasition over slowly since im poor. And ita winter so im cold! Hopefully i can get some thermals for under dressess.
I feel the same way since June and now I'm trying to obbey this call.
The only pants I have are my pajamas pants 💃🏻🌸I love it !!
I read that some catholics are wearing scarves now too. Is that just to Mass or all the time?
💓thank you
Also, I'd like to mention I grew up with non-religious parents but they always had strong morals and encouraged dignity/modesty.
God led me to only wear skirts and dresses. So proud of you for following His lead! It's definitely countercultural.
I wear skirts and dresses only to work. I am not religious at all. The reason why is that as a pear-shaped woman, skirts and dresses serve me better and give me confidence. They cover my hips and thighs.
I have the same feeling and thoughts about dressing modesty! Thanks for your words, God bless you!🧡
Love your message here and your openness to a path you feel the Lord is leading you thru. Your transparency is refreshing, especially sharing about researching to topic.
Thank you! ❤️❤️❤️
@@TheOvernightMom you look good
Very well said!
@Nomopoly 2 no
@@AkatsukiCookies glad someone relates to me^_^
Maybe what you could do is get some dressier pants. This way you have something that looks a bit more polished than jeans for a special occasion
I love wearing 👗s & skirt.
And l have to wear pantyhose & stocking (l love them so much) about 8 months a year.
But it’s very costly :(
STICK WITH YOUR DRESSES. iT KEEPS YOU FEMININE.
Congrats to you. You’re the only type of woman I’m interested in. They are becoming more and more rare.
where do you buy your skirts and dresses???
Everyone I know is really tomboy and if you look around in a busy place here you'll only find one person if you're lucky wearing a dress/skirt idk I just feel like I have loads of pressure on being a tomboy I just want a be like this idk why it's a bad thing here?
P.S men once wore dresses so it's not exactly feminine
I feel like some type of men are not attracted to it. But it’s better maybe because they must be the guys that look for a one night stand
Your videos are like serial movies(telenovelas) they happen to be so in sync. Great video sweetheart! ❤ from FL
That's so cool...Holy Spirit at work! ❤️ The sunshine state! What a fun place to be!!
That's just dumb.
why would a women do karate or sports?
I always believed pants were for men and dresses for women. Now days you cannot tell who is male or female.
Skirts are more comfortable than pants. For exercise If it’s something like running or group sports looser pants are ok.
Do tell? What companies cater to woman who wear only skirts and dresses?
I haven’t made a purchase from any of these yet but I’ve found/heard good things about: Inherit Co. , Modli, Neesees Dresses, Snoga Athletics, Eshakti, Sweet Salt Clothing, and Dainty Jewells. And they all seem to specifically cater to a skirt/dress/modest demographic :)
I’ve personally had good success at Burlington and the Good will! I even found a nice White House Black Market skirt at the Good that looked like it had never been worn-the original tag was on it and everything! I think with so many people not being use to skirts, they go barely worn and end up donating so you really can find some gems! I’ve found several great options on Amazon too!
Shorts are ok as long as they're dressy shorts.
Thanks for such a great video. God bless you 😇
Love this ❤️ great video
What about Palazzo pants they're very feminine
Thank you for this video 🌸
Same!! :)
Pants are not comfortable-especially jeans.
@Boxing Boxing I wear stretchy cotton knit dresses and have a lot more range of motion than in typical pants/jeans. Dresses are more comfortable in hotter climates. Sweats make you sweat.
So good!
I just wear long dresses etc. because I am a Muslim and Allah all mighty ordered us to cover our beauty. I love my Hijab ❤
I wear only t-shirts and pants and I am a faithful Catholic.
It's a non-issue.
Yes!! You can definitely be a faithful Catholic and wear pants!
@Anna same here. I wear long baggy shorts and t-shirts. I spend a lot of time outdoors and I like to be comfortable. And I don't really care if anyone thinks I look wonderfully turned out 🤗
I'm also a faithful Catholic.
@@r.whitaker3990 That's awesome😊sounds like me.
This is very similar story to mine!
Not all women wear skirts they can be tomboys with or without skirts.
In Biblical times, everyone wore dresses.
Pants=boys and dresses=girls is our culture, not necessarily what was happening in the Middle East 2000 years ago.
Actually men wore long robes like turbans with pants underneath
Leviticus 16:4 He shall put the holy linen tunic and the linen trousers on his body; he shall be girded with a linen sash, and with the linen turban he shall be attired. These are holy garments. Therefore he shall wash his body in water, and put them on.
@@daniellebrooks4730 Women wore the same.
@@clod8 no no they did not. They did not wear pants under their dresses
@@TheOvernightMom thanks :)
im sorry but pants dont symbolise anything
Theres nothing wrong with pursuing traditional femininity, but wearing pants doesnt make a woman less feminine and if a woman tends to be more masculine there is nothing wrong with that.
@anne marie x try not to get caught up in this! i did and i got a bit depressed
Im not a tomboy but i hate dresses and skirts😑
you dont have to wear them then! Pants are just as feminine as skirts 😁
Pants symbolize that you are a man in your own mind.
Yes! I add pockets into all my dresses!!
