I have a Marlin 45.70. Lever. I love it. 3x9 scope. My other firearm is a 30.06 Remington 700 BDL. carries a 3x9 Redfield rectangle scope. I revamped the stock from wood to a lighter kevlar stock and replaced the barrel with a stainless steel one. Great hunting rifle. As is the Marlin. My first hunting firearm was a British .303 jungle carbine. That's nice also. Reconditioned that baby too. I like hunting. I like my guns. More important? I love to be out in the countryside by the rivers and in the woods. I just wish more people could experience the beauty of being out there. Instead of trying to take away my right to own my guns and to enjoy what nature has to offer. I had to say that considering the times we're living in.
Nobody wants your guns taken away, I like hunting and believe people should have the right to be safe out here in nature. The only issue I have it's when some kid below driving age is able to head to a gun store, buy any weapon and use it to funnel his mental health issues onto the innocent public. So what if it takes psychological evaluation, more paperwork or a stronger licence, the goal in the beginning was to feel safe, be safe and not have to worry about the unexpected. I have one of the Remington SBL just like that in 45 70. It is solid as a rock. Maybe I got lucky, I dont know. With my personal rifle I dont see what all the fuss is about. I would carry mine into bear country with no doubts about it.
0:29 did you say .38 &.357? I think you got the guns mixed up. Thats clearly a 1895 SBL which is chambered in 45-70. The 1894 CSBL were chambered in .357 & .38
I really like the look of this rifle and I googled the price of it here in Germany. Around 1700-1800€ that’s not to bad I thought. But 20 rounds are 70€ 😅 definitely on the expensive side
Seeing them at auctions for a lot more than that now. Was fortunate to get mine before the pricing got too out of hand. Probably paid more for ammo than I did for the rifle at this point, xD

Had a friend get one in .44 Mag, and he had to return/exchange it for another one because the lever action mechanism wouldn’t even work properly before he even had a chance to fire one round from it. Junk to say the least, especially after they started with that idiotic cross bar safety!

Ammo is extremely hard to find for this rifle. Only ever saw and held 1 box in my life and I didn’t bother to buy it ☹️
With some cheap reloading supplies, that box of ammo is all you need.😂
