If you're perplexed about the NRA plug, you must have missed our NRA Announcement video, as well as recent "Shooting the Breeze " videos. This video was recorded prior to our decision to stop recruiting for the NRA. Many did not agree with our allowing the NRA to be a sponsor, and now many do not agree with our dropping them as a sponsor. Another reminder that everybody just has to do what they think is best and let the chips fall, or rather let the Trolls Troll and the Haters Hate. :-)

@@ranndomundead9112 Sure, I get that. But I find most people who are put off by the idea of not having a loading gate have never really spent much time with a lever that doesn't have one. It's still easy to load, or top off. And it would take a fair bit of effort to to break the mag tube. Even so, they're cheap and having an extra one on hand isn't a bad idea. Gates can jam/break as well.

Hammer 67 yeah, but when I want to put a suppressor on one the side gate is important. It’s also annoying to have to put your hands near the muzzle if you’re topping off(and yes, I know you can just have the action open and have no danger, but still)

Being 74 years old and having rabbits to eat I began my journey by getting ground squirrels with copper wire and would get 10 cents for each tail. The first 22 I got was the 39A and when CCI came out with the Stinger it was a game changer. I ended up with 2 of these. I inherited cataracts and always used a scope. I also have two Marlins both in the 45-70 one old one that my Dad had and the other is a Stainless model I keep in Alaska.

The old Marlin .35 was my favorite, out of a numerous rifles dad sent me off with, hunting in the deer woods as a kid & teen.
So light. Great for walking up and down the forested ridges of the Ozark Mts, and a good brush gun for those deadfall-heavy backwoods. Still did great, open sights, even at longer ranges after coming out of the thick brushy woods.

Not sure what you own or know, as opposed to what you have just heard, but I can tell you from over fifty years of extensive gun collecting, buying, selling, shooting and hunting that the Marlins currently being produced are excellent. Now don’t get mad and start typing, it’s true. Have you owned one, shot them, or are you just repeating what you’ve heard? If you have, well of course you’re entitled to your opinion, but my experience has been nothing but very positive with new Marlins.

I only have a Henry HL001 which is chambered in.22. I absolutely love that little gun. Taught my son to shoot it. Now he's claimed it for himself. Thanks for the good videos

I love my 336W. It is smooth and accurate. I bought it at an auction for 425.00 and never regretted it.

I know this is a bit old, but the major difference between the two rifles is the safety systems. The Marlin has the simple crossbolt safety, the Henry has a hammer block similar to the Ruger single action revolvers. Hammer can't strike the firing pin unless the trigger is pulled.

Both appear to be excellent lever guns. Henry idea with the side gate plus the tube load feature is innovative. Furniture is better on the Henry. Both the Marlin and Henry are good weapons.

It appears to me the side loading gate combined with the tube style loading system of the Henry would better facilitate UNLOADING.

Your Henry comments finally convinced me to buy my grandson a Henry 22lr
I bought his big sister a Ruger American 22lr and his big brother a Mossberg pump .410
Keep it in the 10 ring buddy
