@@tarekith that sharp sound around 18:22 .. there is some sort of cross modulation or oscilators fm modulation on MC707 ? Sounds like that, had no idea that engine can make this kind of sounds
@@raysubject I’ll have to look and check, not sure. 95% of the time I use the randomize preset function to find my sounds, then fine tune the ones I like to fit the set better. I’ve never intentionally used cross or fm mod, but it could be happening in the background without me knowing :0
Well they're somehow similar (both have a synth engine and sequencer). But... I guess the SH 4D has more performance control, so I would use the 4d to tweak sounds and parameters live and the 707 to run main sequences & audio loops(it has a more powerful sequencer IMO) plus it can launch scenes @@DesiLofi
No samples in this one, all MC707 synths and drums. I had the Tr-8S and liked it, but felt the 707 gave me a lot of the same sounds in better performance layout. I have a review on my channel if you're curious.
Niiice, I appreciate people that have the patience to tweak their own sounds on the 707, since though it can be tedious and quirky, it''s an excellent (zen core) synth! I'm lookin into your 8s review. Appreciate the response and lookin forard to more 707 sets@@tarekith
@@tarekith is all sound design (especially drums, transition effects and motion sequencing) done on the MC707 alone? Or are you also importing samples/clips recorded in a daw?
@@tarekith that's great. Seeing you so committed to this unit and hearing those tracks makes me want to explore it too. I hope I get at least half as good at using it :) Thanks for the answer!
It’s this one: www.amazon.com/gp/product/B085XW6PVP/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Works pretty good for the cost, though I do wish it was a tiny bit more stable at the highest setting.
Interested with you choosing the 707.. (and still using obviously). I have kept moving away from it. I like the technical features and sound quality,, but I keep re-trying and the 3 assign knobs (and dismal midi control over synth parts) pushes me away. It feels like a pain to sound design for me.
This is great! When I have tried to use the MC707 as a standalone performance tool for sets that are 45mins+ i keep hitting the ceiling of internal/project memory. I have a 32 gb card in there too. Do you have any tips for getting around that or have you ever faced that yourself?
Thanks! Barely any of my 707 sets use samples, it's almost all just the internal synths/drums. Then I never need to worry about storage space, since the 707 is a little stingy on that front :)
@@tarekith yeah same. its mostly synths sounds built from scratch, a drum track with 8 samples (only a second or 2 long) and an external in channel for processing/mixing in a drumbrute impact. Maybe its because im running the tracks in clip mode so there are 16+ or so variations of each sound per track. i love the 707 synth engine and sequencer just wish it had the storage and power of something like the force.
I would totally go out to see you play a set like this live and I never go out
Thank you!
Excellent tune and brilliant how you bring everything together. I love the layering and scene transitions very smooth 🙂👍
Glad you're still alive! Always concerned when someone's gone for a year..
LOL, still alive for sure. Just had a busy year moving to a new state and a couple injuries that kept me from working on music too much :)
Good performance ... Inspiring me 🎹🎧
Really enjoyable set and so good to see someone using the Mc707 for extended mixes.
Thanks a lot, using it for extended mixes is my favorite part of the 707. 🙂
cool, Loved listening!
This is lovely stuff; tge most genuinely chilled out music ive heard for a long time. Thanks Tarekith!
A true spirit techno inspirador!!!
Nice! Love the setup ❤️
This devices sound really good! Thanks for music
This is really nice. Got a 707 3 weeks ago and I love it.
Very nice work.... 👏👏🎶
Thank you for the listen!
Wonderful, thanks!
Nice one!

Great performance.

Top 👏👏👏
This is great man!
Very well executed!
What power solution are you using?
I mean powerbank + cable stuff?
I cover all that in this video: th-cam.com/video/RAPEfLPPWAE/w-d-xo.htmlsi=9EEyo7t7JwEsD1vZ
I had to sell my mc 707 (moved to another country), and I've got the sh4d as replacement, but I do miss all the functionality the mc 707 offered !
If you had them both, how would you combine them? I got a friend that got SH4D and i got MC707

Great set Tarekith. Really nice moody down-tempo vibes. Do you treat each scene as a song and then mix between scenes to create the transitions?
Thanks! Yep, pretty much each scene is it's own song for me, then I use Clip view to switch among them.

This is what you use the Zencore VST for, i don't find it fun to go into the menu in order to edit tones, sad that there is no 707 dedicated VST...
One day I hope to get as proficient as you are with mine.
But I've never used your's 😉
Thanks for the jam, it is awesome! Wonder what are the stand and the desk you used in this video?

Is there other groovebox you like more?
The Octatrack is probably a close second, but I still prefer the 707 for most things.
do you happen to have the tr8s and can you tell me if the play button feels different between the two?
Yes I had the TR-8S, and the play buttons are identical as far as I can tell.

45 minutes isn't bad. But I'm thinking it's better to pair the MC with something like an ipad or iphone for the samples and loops.
🤮 don't understand this kind of music, just some random sounds
Agreed, it really is bad isn't it? I don't know what I was thinking, but I need to stop so people like you can become my #1 fan!
Those that can’t do lol. Keep up the amazing work tarekith!
