  • The Iconic Pap of Glencoe. We have passed this so many times and looked up at its mass of rock dominating the skyline on the approach to Glencoe village from Fort William. Although we were aware of the track that takes you up and around this hill gradually, is was the angle from the front face that we had always wanted to climb so at last we had our chance.
We climbed the Pap of Glencoe or Sgorr na Ciche, to give it its proper name, from the front. We initially followed the track as far as the bridge but then it was straight up the front which gave for amazing views and spectacular drone footage.
This was a tester of a hill, the small steep ones usually are so don't be fooled if following the same route as we have taken here.
We had a great day on this gem of a hill and I'm sure we will be back to tackle the climb of the front from other angles very soon. But did we reach the summit?
