  • Stuchd an Lochan Climb - A Rewarding Adventure in Glen Lyon
Dawn and I embarked on an adventurous journey to Stuchd an Lochan in Glen Lyon, Scotland, amidst a classic Scottish downpour. The evening prior, we drove through the misty, rain-drenched beauty of Glen Lyon, setting up camp at Loch an Daimh's dam, our starting point.
Despite relentless rain, we pitched our tent, lit a campfire, and shared some rums, eager for the dawn and better weather. The next day brought drizzle and clouds, but our enthusiasm remained strong. We donned waterproof gear and ascended Stuchd an Lochan, embracing the challenging terrain and rugged Highland beauty.
The trail led us through a wild, windswept landscape, occasionally obscured by rain. Yet, we persevered, hoping for nature's reward. As we ascended, the clouds parted, and the rain ceased, revealing astonishing summit views of shimmering lochs and rolling hills.
Descending swiftly, we raced against time, spirits high. The weather improved, and the sun bathed the landscape in golden light. Our journey ended at the car, tired but fulfilled. Stuchd an Lochan had left an indelible mark, a testament to Scotland's enchanting wilderness.
As we departed Glen Lyon, we cherished this climb, a testament to the allure of the Scottish Highlands and our bond as climbing partners and nature lovers.

Thank you, at least the weather gave us views at the top which we were grateful for. It took us about three hours to get to the summit. We always take ages as we are videoing and snapping pics and like staying up there as long as we can before coming back to reality! We were about an hour and a half to get back down as we kept up a steady pace. Great wee mountain though, will be back up soon to do the Munro on the opposite side of the loch, Meall Buidhe. A wee winter camp coming up I think. Have you climbed this one yet?
