The 458 has just aged so beautifully, the original Italia still looks just as good as it did back in 2009. And that engine!
Hmm definitely aged well, still not on a Zonda Cinqe level, but still very pretty.
Crap its a dog to look at
It has an engine
We fully agree!
The price aged beautifully as well
That line, of cars between 2010-18, just right, perfectly put. They were the sweet spot truly
The end of the analog era meeting the beginning of the more tech focused cars. Was a goldilocks period of time for sure!
Why though?
@@Sabrermk42 there's nothing much "analog" in any car built after the 70s. Surely, 2010-18 can still be considered an interesting time for some cars though.
The golden era is more like 1995-2010.
@@benkeilty3586DCT plus naturally aspirated engines minus screens and hybridization/weight
People who actually drive these special cars are the real MVPs
Keith is an MVP!
I drive a 458 with 74k miles on it now!! still puts a smile on my face with all aspects of the car including the noise!!
This brings back memories of the comparison to the GT3 Chris did with Tiff... Always wondered why they never did more together, they had great on screen chemistry.
P1, La Ferrari, 918 at Portimao with Tiff and Marino is one of Chris' best. They worked so well together. I'd love to see more "Chris Harris and friends" kind of videos.
@@howarddavies136 Oh yeah I don't know how I forgot about that absolute gem... I mean, Tiff's making Love Cars now, they should sack the less good Vicky and put on Chris.
I dunno, maybe off screen they don't get along so well or something. I know Chris is working on the Collecting Cars stuff, but that's not exclusive or going anywhere meaningful.
It just strikes me as odd it never lead to more work together, especially since TG has ended. Here's hoping it does.
Love the legal front plate tucked behind the drivers seat 😊
The Speciale Aperta has to be one of the greatest cars ever made. A real case of ‘if you know, you know’.
812 comp, F12 TDF, 458 speciale, Laferrari and SP3 are the most special modern ferraris and dream Ferraris for my generation
I might be a tad older than you but I’d definitely throw the 430 Scuderia in the mix, and possibly swap the 812 Comp for a GTS. Convertible V12s are a very rare breed in the Ferrari world.
@@s.flanders why would you swap 812 comp with gts. 812 comp aperta is a dream open top v12 ferrari. I won’t include 430 scud in there though it is one of the most beautiful ferrari and Schumacher’s fav feerari I would rather go for manual ferrari f355 spider. A manual Ferrari v8 with beautiful and classic lines and probably with best sounding Ferrari v8. In my opinion f355 is one of the most underrated and least talked ferrari
599 GTO has entered the chat😂😉
Im sure chris won't mind me saying this, but the video of Jethro driving a Speciale on launch through the hills near Fiarano, like an absolute madman, is one of my favourite videos ever. In fact, im going to watch it now.
Chris Harris just knows how to present Ferraris in a proper way!
This is one of the best handling cars Ferrari ever made. It's the jewel of the Ferrari line. If i could only choose one it would be the 458
Terrible scuttle shake in cabriolet format
The Speciale really is one of the greatest Ferraris and cars ever
This is epic! Chris Harris + one of my favorite Ferraris of all time = amazing ❤
Love watching Chris could watch him all day. And cars. Could not get better .
These armospheric cars will just keep going up and up in price into the future. True automotive passion.
Chris is so correct with the 201-2018 sweet spot, what a use of English language. When cars handled well, built quality at an all time high, styling on point, and before everything become too electronic and EV.
One of my favorite cars with one of my favorite hosts! What a fantastic owner story....someone that actually uses such a special car.
I had the pleasure of chatting with the owner of this car a few years ago at Curborough sprint course, absolutely lovely chap and lovely car
The minute you see such a machine rocking a phone holder GLUED to the dash you know life is beautiful.
As much as I love seeing Harris in cars on youtube again, I wish it was from a journalists perspective and not a salesman's.
I want to see you thrashing these cars, physically and verbally.
Check out Landow Laps…he’s thrashing them then.
Yeah, I get wanting to see what it can truly do. I don't think it's coming from a salesman here, or certainly not simply that. Sure, there's a presentation and sales aspect to it, but it lands differently because of a genuine appreciation and passion for a truly special car. It's from a storied and passionate journalist who understands the specialness in a way few do.
@vipe650r he definitely leaves the negatives out. Ie the Speciale Aperta has significant scuttle shake, something he'd normally comment on. I get it. I just want some of the old format along with it.
@HX920 been enjoying those! Although it's frustrating how much it fkin rains there. Haha
@@HoratioHoodoo That's a fair point.
Best car salesman I know
Seems like his new vocation now .... he can't be a legend all his life I guess.
The 458 Speciale was the first car that got handed to me as a press photographer back in the days. I had the car for myself for 8h before the journalist would arrive to drive the car but I was so scared I didn't use it much. I just took pictures of it sitting on the curbs of the Porsche S section of Le Mans while the sun was setting in the background. Pictures that never got used as they prefered the one I took during the roadtrip that followed.
Always loved the Speciale. When's Chris going to review the C8 Z06?
I did some laps in a standard 458, what a car and the sound is amazing, can't imagine a Speciale with no top....
i remember when you first covered this car on youtube. Amazing how far you have gone in the media space, and also how that still seems as good as when it first came out
Chris the traveling sales rep.
This and a gallardo superlegera were my dream car's of the time
That rear 3/4 view is stunning, lovely cars
awesome stuff. Always happy to hear about these amazing cars that are properly driven.
definitely up there as one of Maranello's finest for me. utterly sensational car
IKR! TRULY THEIR FINEST HOUR
Remember watching Vicki Butler-Henderson review this [on 5th Gear?] back then. I instantly fell in love with it ..already had a thing for Vicki - who doesn't :) ..remember that the 458 almost made her cry with happiness.
Although F40 is perhaps the poster car, this is the Ferrari I've always wanted above everything else since. Coupe please though if any going..
Another handsome example
What an absolutely stunning car! My all time favourite Ferrari!!❤️❤️
I've been lucky enough to drive a normal 458 at the track and it remains the most sensational supercar/sports car/any car I've ever driven. The lightness and ease with which the car can be driven hard is nothing short of amazing and in Race, the throttle response made me question my sanity because it felt like there was genuinely a reaction before the pedal moved.
Same here mate and couldn’t agree more. It’s perfect in my opinion.
Another new classic with Mr. Harris. Great stuff.
It will never aged..
N/A Ferrari's..... Pure Heaven
More cars like this and more Chris doing honest and experienced reviews! Look forward to these weekly drops 👏
The last NA mid engine Ferrari, this is going to go for millions in a few years
They made 15 000 coupe, 6000 spiders, 3000 speciale and 500 speciale aperta... the speciale could potentially but the rest won't.
As it should its the last real ferrari😂
It's already a bucket list car for me❤
Last of its kind
Last na V8 Ferrari yes, but the Daytona SP3 is essentially a La Ferrari sans hybrid drive. 828hp NA V12 godliness. It's also $3 million, so it barely counts as an option.
Into the crusher it goes. Garbage they are.
beautiful, classic, timeless.
It such a beautiful car, looks good even today. Love this car.
Relaxed Chris is the best Chris.
I randomly bumped into Keith Sutton outside a hotel in Abu Dhabi in 2014, very nice chap who had time for a chat. What a cracking car!
What car!
The only thing I prefer about the 488 are the side intakes.
458 Speciale Aperta is probably one of my all time favorites
I concur, 2010-2018 a lovely era of cars
What a car… love the 458 styling!
I forgot when the 458 was released. This beauty hasn't age a day. Well done Ferrari.
"When the music stops cars between 2010 and 2018 will be the ones that are celebrated"
Phew. That includes my Land Rover Defender then....🙌
WOW!!! WHAT AN ALLOCATION STORY
Can't beat a well-done folding hard top.
It truly is the best of both worlds!
OH YES. FINALLY PEOPLE WHO ACTUALLY DRIVE THEIR CARS. I love the high mileage special cars, because they have been used. Low mileage cars are an absolute trap, you need to fix a million things as well, etc.
The 458 Speciale is amazing! ❤ Oh and, if you want to tell an Aperta from a Coupé easily look at the windows, Coupés have a small triangle behind the doors, Apertas/Spiders don't have anything after the door :)
Beautiful masterpiece of a Ferrari
One of the GOATs this car, proper!
458 may have aged better than any modern supercar
The 458 is one of, if not my favourite, Ferrari’s to track. Outstanding V8 with a lovely chassis and gearbox. Chris isn’t wrong when he says it’s the Ferrari that anyone who has one says they’ll keep.
Totally agree on the peak period! I think 18/19. Haptics and touch screens have run rife since! Lovely car and story. Hope he gets a good number for it
I know Chris is just trying to sell me the car, but it is a good story telling. still my fav modern ferrari
What a story this special car has. Cars with their stories make them more interesting. For instance my personal classic E46 has a great story and it makes it more special
The 458 is my lottery win car. Much more appealing than newer Ferrari models and plenty to choose from at "reasonable" prices on Autotrader.
I'll say it again and again.
Chris should teach youtubers and *pro drivers how to handle any car in any racetrack.
If my memory serves me correct, there’s a vid Mr HarrisC did of one sliding around the hair pins in the hills somewhere sunny. Marvellously capable car then…
Isn’t Chris just the only guy you want out of any car journalist out there doing this stuff. Bravo 👏🏼
You might be thinking of Jethro's 458 speciale review. IIRC Chris's Aperta review was in the rain?
Nope, I’m not. It’s a 458, it’s Chris’s review and it’s windy hills - th-cam.com/video/21HsExuDEQw/w-d-xo.htmlsi=f0BuLkCdi6H0zRpx
Call yourself a fan lol 😉
@@Your_Paramourjethro’s top down in rain review of the spaciale is the one of the most special car videos on the net
@@graeme9893Somehow I hadn't seen this before. I'm guessing this must have been just before Chris got blacklisted by Ferrari?
Next to the GT3 RS 991.2 & 992, it's THE Legend!!! Nice review
2:40 whoa Chris made a stats mistake?!
What a great car. Fun quick video as always.
Luca really was special. He made it out to meet with us Challenge drivers at Fiorano. Very charming - spent time with each of us. Now that I am a bit older, my Ferrari has a three-pointed star and happens to be what Chris wants: an AMG S63 Cabrio. Interestingly, I have had the feeling that this car is special, a keeper - a 2017. And sure enough, here is Chris saying that 2010-2018 was the sweet spot. This video does make me miss the Ferraris, though.
Absolute dream car
I didn't have the sound on but you are one lucky one to be driving that car....YEAH!
It’s beautiful and my favorite Ferrari ❤
Still my favorite all time!
Still the best car ever made
This & the Maserati Gran Cabrio MC Stradale were my dream cabriolets/convertibles
Beautiful... but where is the high pitched soundtrack with high revs mate?
love this spec
sell me a Ferrari without selling me a Ferrari .
My favourite ferrari of all time😍😍😍
Very very Cool.
Love it.
Gorgeous
@collectingcars you have last N/A 'Berlinetta' on the first shot of the film.
It's not a Berlinetta btw - (meaning closed cockpit) it's an aperta (meaning open cockpit)
Prancing cat is a nice touch
What a great storied car!
It's Beautiful.
I would want coupe but this car is absolutely EPIC
458 is peak Ferrari for me
Every time I see videos from the UK, I can't help but be reminded just how shit the weather is.
Such a special car. I hope we see more and more manual swaps with these.
I was 14 when the 458 was released so I always say this is my poster car
one of my favorit ferraris ever. One for sale near me in all white
Looks lovely.
We need more Mr.Clifford please.
Not a fan of black-on-black cars but other than that, the 458 Speciale certainly is one exciting machine! Would love to experience it at some point.
My all time favourite car
Whata a beauty!
Love it
The last great V8 Fezza? Love the 458, in any flavour - it's aged so well - and the Speciale is the cream of the crop.
Will there be a show in a few years called Chris' Garage where we see he's bought every single one of the cars he's supposed to help sell?
Had the pleasure of being introduced to Keith at Goodwood by a mutual friend who also has a rather flash donkey! 📸Presumably he will be keeping the registration 😎
The mileage is a testament to how good those cars really are
Like the Bible the 458 does stand the test of times.
Epic Story!!
The 458 speciale is the one for me would probably go for the coupe though. Such a high point for modern ferraris the looks the development the NA V8 perfection. The 458 speciale coupe and a manual F430. Would be my lotto Ferrari garage options maybe a 355 depending on how big the win was.
Mr Harris was the only bloke on top gear that ever knew how to drive a car along with the stog !!
Don’t forget Tiff Needell - he practically married the art of drifting with car journalism.
@@simonjones5614I forgot about him since it was way way back but yes, a racer and car reviewer so he sure can drive.
My best one I liked of Tiffs was in the McLaren F1… amazing 👌
