      That's because not very many people take an interest in cooking...if you did, you'd find it's not as difficult as it sometimes looks. Like anything one is learning, start small, and work your way up. Also, cooking is about knowing how to do a few simple techniques very well, and then combining those to make more and more complicated and involved dishes. :)

    Made this tonight. My only adjustments were to go heavier on the garlic, and I used a mix of bell pepper, jalapeno, and green fingerling peppers. I put a combination of regular flour and corn starch in a baggie and used that to toss the chicken pieces after marinating them. It came out so good I'm almost crying. This recipe is to die for. I strongly recommend using Szechwan peppercorns together with the regular black Tellicherries. Serve over rice. Marion, you rock!

    Once I saw your videos I was hooked and am filling up a binder of recipe printouts! Love the noodles recipes! I made this recipe twice now and like it a lot! I have, however, found Sichuan Pepper already ground up and that's easier. The second time I used popcorn chicken and that worked but the first time I did fry the chicken. Liked them both! Thanks for your great recipes!

    I finely ordered sweet soy sauce (none in my area) and made this dish, and it was outstanding. Due to dietary restrictions, I did not fry the chicken, but it is the sauce that made this so delicious! My wife even liked it, and up till now her Chinese food repertoire was orange chicken!!! Thanks, Marion!!!

    This is so delicious. I made this with firm tofu as I don’t eat chicken and it was amazing. Also only used black pepper as thats all I could get while in lockdown. Can only imagine how much better it will taste when I can make it with both peppers.

      ohhh so that's what it is

    • @Pielededrac
      @Pielededrac 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Capsicum is the Latin scientific name of the entire family of peppers from the very large "bell peppers" to the tiny bird's eye peppers/chili and every size in between, including jalapeno and the one I use most the true Tabasco chili, about the same kick as the Thai chili.

    • @feverspell
      @feverspell 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@Pielededrac While that's true, Marion uses the term "capsicum" to describe bell peppers only; if she's using some other kind of chili, like a Thai bird's eye chili, she refers to it by that name. I was just pointing out that I have to write down "red bell pepper" instead of capsicum when making a shopping list for ingredients. She grew up in Australia, so I just assumed that's what bell peppers are called there.

    This was so good. I thought it would be too peppery for my taste but surprisingly not. The only thing different I used or did was, I used 3 whole chicken legs (cut up in pieces) and because its chicken with bones, I added an additional 1 teaspoon soy sauce to the marinade. The next time I make this (now that I know its not too peppery), I would add a bit more peppercorn spice and a bit more of the red peppers and onions.....yum. Thanks for the recipe
