  • I'm fast learning that not every field recording trip works out for calming nature soundscapes. I still enjoyed it and the loud car exhausts in the distance made me want to plan in another visit Knockhill. I think that would test the limiters on the F8n.
Thankfully I still got enough interesting sounds which I'm happy to share with you.

I agree with you Andy!!Noise pollution is a big problem and has an impact on people and nature. This is exactly why I founded my channel ''Natures critical ear'' to draw attention to this problem..As a Park Ranger and Field recordist, protecting this areas for the future is very important to me. Unfortunately, we have already lost too many such areas in the past. But in spite of all this,as we can hear in your recording we can still find these magical sounds of nature.Well done!I hope we can save them. Thanks for sharing.Wish you all the best my friend✌

Too right Andy. It was only when I started recording that I realised how little tranquility there really is in our world. I was always aware of it because I do love peace and quiet, but when you start field recording you seem to notice it way more. Unwanted noise literally everywhere you go, even out in nature. True peace seems very very difficult to find. Such a shame.

I felt the same when I started recording, now I'm just trying to figure out how to get something I'm happy with. I'm sure you will capture some excellent soundscapes as well it just takes patience. Thanks for your comment.

Hi Andy, It is usually a bit of a conspiracy when ot comes to the sound recording. If it's not a helicopter, it's a high flyin' distant jet adding that ever so subtle but invasive sound in the background (of my own videos) when you're Out & About at the crack of dawn... 🙄
Another nice video Andy. 👍🙂 Kind regards, BG

Always seems to be something, never used to notice it much until I started trying to get decent audio for my videos. Thankfully it's just more learning and finding a way to work around it. 👍

@@AndyGregor All part of the fun in making videos. 👍😉
🤔 Admittedly, it can be damn frustrating sometimes, but it is worth it in the end. 👍😎
