  • This certainly isn’t the prettiest TV DX I have; however, it is what I recorded on my first attempt at remote TV recording from the Florida Keys, on April 2, 1990, using an outdoor FM antenna.
This is Cubavisión, recorded on NTSC channel 9, relaying ch 6 in Havana. This ID is in the final years of displaying the Havana channel number.
I wasn’t even sure that I still had this in my collection. This is a DVD-R copy of a VHS tape. Analog TV DX doesn’t duplicate on DVD all that well.
This was recorded at the Sugarloaf Key KOA Kampground.

The weirdest part here is that HTV Wales somehow ended up airing in a country like Cuba

Thanks for that info. For 32 years I had no idea what HTV was. Cuba somehow gets programs from around the world. Whether they pay for the rights or not, that’s another issue.

@@christopherdunne7848 Gets the programs with satellite feeds and records them, subtitle them to spanish and broadcast them in the channel. Thats my hypothesis.

@@christopherdunne7848They get the programs from satellite. Many tv stations from developing countries do that in the 90s & 2000s.

    Question,
I wonder if you still have those VHS tape recordings of DX's you did in South Florida that are featured on the Egabrow channel? I remember you commenting in reply to someone that you didn't. My question is, did you send him the original tapes, or did you do VHS to DVD and send those to him?

I still have them. Grabow came to my home to record these, with good equipment. I cannot let them out of the house!

"Este dia" (On this day): TV Clip which recount on the most important events and biographies, especially of left-leaning politics and politicians.
    P.D.: Actually, it's Channel 6 Cubavision.

Channel 6 in Havana, yes. But this was a relay on channel 9 out of the Matanzas area.

Do you have more recordings of the early special period of Cuba, specially from the early 90s?

No. Channel 13 via tropospheric reception. Today, WPEC 12 in West Palm Beach occupies 13 as DTV.

Oops this is channel 9. Ch 13 is another TH-cam video. Both 9 and 13 serve Matanzas.
