What a man, a professor of ancient Greek the youngest at the time in the British Empire, a brigadier in the army, served in the second world war, North African Campaign, India, British War Medal, AfricaStar, Military MBE, 1939-1945 Star, and finally PROPHET, what political leader today has those credentials? Imagine those who are so unknowledgeable and misguided as to his achievements in life who think he could be capable as something as simple-minded as 'racism'.
For one, he praised the superiorities of *every* race, but simply delineated the fact that that those superiorities would conflict with each other on the same landmass. He had observed that all across history from his studies, hence his reference to the Roman in the Rivers of Blood speech.
He wanted nothing more than England to remain England, and India to remain India.

My dear old dad, long since gone, didn't have the education of Enoch Powell, but I still remember, at the age of fourteen, hearing my dad watching Enoch Powell and saying, ' one day, people will be wishing they had listened to this man'. Given that my dad rarely, very rarely, expressed any political comments, it's obvious that I remembered this prophetic wisdom of his. Fifty plus years later, I can confirm how right he, and Powell, were.

@@majorlaff8682 Leicestershire has been largely peaceful. The recent problems there with Hindu and Muslims are due to new arrivals from India who have brought with them a new Hindu nationalist ideology. The problems do not stem from those born here and settled in the U.K. Even if there were tensions that flared up how would that be any different from Protestant and catholics? Your just using that to push an agenda.
Ask for the stabbings - not so long ago Glasgow had a higher violent crime rate than London and many English cities with have high stab rates that are perpetrated by Englishmen.
Take the recent horrific shooting in Liverpool which saw a 7 year old shot to death in her own home. No immigrants black or brown involved there.
Enoch spoke of numbers more than anything. That was his issue. Acts were passed that stemmed commonwealth immigration but successive governments have allowed mass immigration in a scale that not even the commonwealth descended population would of wanted.

So you guys went to China brainwashed them to another religion ( to gain allies) got them hooked on opium by force robbed them for centuries now your upset that immigrants are in your country ?
You have the most selective standards ever, the nerve .
FYI you chose a country that is literally based on 1 ethnicity and doesn't have a history of immigration , ask the same question in Malaysia, Indonesia, or Russia the answer will be different.
Plus no 1 has forced uk to open its doors to immigrants your own government brings them in to lower labor cost and substitute the low birth rates .
China , Japan and other countries will need to open up sooner or later they have a aging population and are unable to replace them domestically.
You want to close your ports to immigrants that's is your choice but don't open it then blame immigrants for coming in .

Enoch Powell was the second youngest professor in history (the youngest is the Austrian philosopher Frederick Nietzsche). Powell was a highly intelligent man.
In a 1970s election Tony Benn said of Powell that he was "Raising the flag of Naziism!" (I paraphrase)
Powell replied "As a young man I left Australia of my own volition to return to Britain to enroll in the King's army as a private soldier to fight Germany and Naziism. I am still the same man today."
As a footnote Powell became the youngest Brigadier in the British army. I believe that record still stands.

@@droge192 I would presume that he means that Pakistan doesn't have silly policies of mass immigration or multiculturalism like the West, and was in fact originally created to ensure that its people were able to retain their preferred religious, cultural and ethnic character.
That's why they have it 'to themselves' as it should be.
Meanwhile, the West has had disastrous policies of multiculturalism and mass immigration imposed upon them without electoral consent, because the instigators knew full well that no-one wanted them or would buy into them.
And as Powell predicted, those policies have become a social disaster that needs to be fixed.
Continuing to import non Westerners into Western countries will inevitably make the country non Western, which is a loss for humanity as much as for Westerners themselves, so it must be stopped now along with reversing the damage already done.

The English people helped me a lot; without their help, I could not have succeeded (I went to medical school at Cambridge). I greatly admire their sense of fair play, amiability, willingness to help others, their maturity and the sense of right and wrong-traits I wish people in the third world could emulate, especially with the abysmal treatment of minorities in some of these countries. In the book, I’ve discussed the real reasons (not mentioned anywhere) and the genesis of Mr. Powell’s speech, dubbed “The Rivers of Blood,” delivered on April 20, 1968, when I was in my second year at Woolwich College, London, and how it directly affected me and its wider consequences (paradoxically, it had the opposite effect of what Mr. Powell intended) chronicled in the chapter “The invisible hand of Enoch Powell.” One fact has not changed: Britain was Great when Mr. Powell spoke; it is still Great 50 years later, and it will always be Great! Masonry is also an anti nationalist anti clerical society run at the very top by the most satanic and evil people you could imagine. Just check out the p2 lodge in Italy for proof of what I’m saying. They align with any party or group they think benefits there agenda ink. including some nationalists who foolishly get swept up into there agenda yet they never have any loyalty to anything but masonry and just use people for there own ends. Mr. Powell was a powerful orator and an intellectual. I am an East African Asian (Indian) who lived in England (1967-1976) and my memoirs are chronicled in my book, Out of the Third World, Ashok Sharma, available at amazon.co.uk. It’s in the inner strength of its peoples. May God -- those who believe in God, and any other entity you believe in or not-bless Great Britain and all its peoples.

The interviewer attempts to belittle probably the finest political mind ever produced by our nation, and fails.... miserably.

      Not so.
If you’re a fan of interviewers asking question after question before listening to the answer offered and not prepared to back up their own argument you will of course differ, and probably belong to that ... fast food generation. Powell see’s his point through and is prepared to explain his answers. Watch it again. Or are you happy being a single voice against my original statement?

@trafficlight9199 In fact Orwell was very critical of socialism, if you understood Animal Farm then you would know that. He was also against authoritarian states which seeked to control every aspect of its citinzens' lives including their speech. If you had understood 1984 then you would know that too. Orwell was a very rational man and he could have easily recognised the disasterous immigration policies of Britain with all of the rape-gangs, terrorists, heroine dealers and welfare-cheats which have spawned from it.

What an insult to Orwell. Orwell (a Democratic socialist critical of authoritarian not a supporter of bigoted idiots) would have despised him. Good god Orwell is being grossly hi jacked by the right. Who he fucking hated so much he fought a war in Spain against!!!
